4:19

Thank you guys. Goal's pod.

4:21

Always a highlight of the year, not

4:23

only for us, but I think, you

4:26

know, I anecdotally, I've gotten

4:28

a lot of people, family

4:30

members even saying, you know, the goals

4:32

pod. That's, that's my favorite one that

4:34

you guys do. Neil, I think you

4:36

got a letter from, from somebody, a

4:38

listener feedback. Well, yeah, I

4:41

got friends, you know, all last week

4:43

during the holidays. When's the goals pod coming out? Can't wait

4:45

to make fun of you. Uh, you

4:47

know, just holding me accountable, you know,

4:49

so we'll get to that. But I

4:51

got an email last

4:53

Thursday from a guy named Anthony and

4:56

Anthony embraced the year of uncomfortable, which

4:58

we will go over was two

5:00

years ago, uh, in an

5:03

epic way. Real quick. Just, I wonder,

5:05

would you recommend people at home follow

5:08

the year? Like as, as we come up with our

5:10

year of blank, should they follow that? Or you think

5:12

they should go back and almost start at the bottom

5:14

of the ladder? You know what I mean? Like it

5:16

sounds like Anthony went back and it was

5:18

like, I'm going to, I'm going to retroactively get into the

5:20

year of uncomfortable. And then he can evolve up. Yeah.

5:23

He was listening last to last year's. I think that's

5:25

the first one he listened to. And he heard us

5:27

go over the fact that 2022 was the year of

5:29

uncomfortable with the year. Can I just

5:31

interject, Neil? My notes show that the

5:33

year of Trent Dilfer was 2019. That's

5:35

what I mean. He's going back a

5:37

ways, which I support. I think

5:40

it's great. Cause then he's got the year

5:42

of what the year of rejoicing ahead of

5:44

him. All kinds of things. We'll get there.

5:46

Let me just share Anthony's anecdote. So

5:49

whatever he found, he found the year of uncomfortable

5:51

spoke to him. So Anthony said he's always wanted

5:54

to sign up for a live theater production. He

5:56

says, quote, I grew up playing sports. So theater

5:58

was never my crowd. But he's always

6:00

been interested in trying it. He said it was like

6:02

a true how hard could it be situation, you know,

6:04

when you're watching a movie or a show or whatever,

6:07

which wasn't I thought that myself. So

6:09

he did some research and he found an audition last

6:11

February. He ended up getting a

6:13

callback and though he didn't get the role, the

6:16

director was so impressed that he showed up and

6:18

he never acted. She offered to give him free

6:20

acting lessons. So in his

6:22

second audition, he gets the lead role

6:24

in a Harry Potter, a bigger theater

6:27

down the street. The play is called

6:29

Puffs. So I think it's from the Hufflepuff

6:31

perspective. And then you fast forward to December. Anthony

6:34

has now done two commercials with

6:36

a background bartender on one of

6:38

Cody's favorite shows snapped on oxygen

6:41

network. So I need to send him the episode

6:43

number because Cody's like, Oh, I fucking love snaps. So

6:45

I told him about it. And then he got

6:47

cast. What is the lead at work in

6:50

Fox on the fairway, a sort of caddyshack

6:52

show where they got he got to play

6:54

a golfer and he's in rehearsal

6:56

for a theater show called the lion in

6:59

the winter. So he says,

7:01

quote, I want to thank the trap

7:03

draw and the NLU team and your

7:05

consent, continuous pursuit of being different and

7:07

inspired me to set out and do

7:10

something uncomfortable of my own.

7:12

And that has led me to find something I am so

7:15

passionate about that I never knew I could do. That's

7:17

a hundred and quote. That's what my favorite story.

7:20

I want to give a massive shout out to

7:22

Anthony. I appreciate that. And that made my week

7:24

last week. So there you have it. God, do

7:26

we know where is Anthony going

7:28

to be performing in any of our next to

7:30

the wood? Get puffs. Maybe

7:33

he didn't. I don't know where he lives,

7:36

but this can find out that

7:38

information. It's been all over the e-mail or

7:41

yeah, came over via email. I think

7:43

Anthony, if you're listening, I would reach

7:46

out to Neil if you're comfortable because you

7:48

might sell some tickets here to do whatever the

7:50

next show is. I would be very interested in

7:52

watching. Let's set Anthony up with big T. We

7:55

might need to. Yeah. We might

7:57

need to spend more time with Polo. I

8:00

mean, what an epic, like, that's a great goal. You

8:02

know what? I'm going to go try out for some

8:04

acting stuff. And that just works. Like, you never hear

8:06

shit like that. It's kind of a tough look for

8:08

actors. Anthony just comes in and eats it. Yeah, maybe.

8:14

It might be a how hard could it be situation.

8:16

He just waltzes it. It's so sick.

8:19

Anyway, Randy, back to you. I got a very

8:22

different trap draw goals story, which was I

8:24

was getting my annual dermatology appointment, which like last

8:26

June or something like that. And you know,

8:28

you got to strip all the way down to

8:30

boxers for this and you get the full body

8:32

exam. It's whatever, you know, professionals doing. It's

8:34

a true Florida man. It is. I

8:37

do a job like I just did this out

8:39

in Colorado. People should do it. Get your skin

8:41

checked. Whatever, you know, checking all your moles, all

8:43

this stuff. You're sitting there

8:45

kind of almost fully naked. And it's just

8:47

a little bit uncomfortable. I have a female

8:49

dermatologist. And we get towards the end

8:52

of it. And she was like, yeah, my husband's

8:54

a big listener of your podcast. And all of

8:56

a sudden, I'm like very aware now that I'm

8:58

extremely naked. And she

9:00

was like, yeah, we love the goals pod. I

9:02

was hoping you'd go for the year of

9:04

infinite resistance. And I was like,

9:06

yeah, yeah, cool. Can I get dressed now? I did not

9:09

know you were able

9:11

to place me from our silly little

9:13

podcast. But that was my people out there.

9:15

Listen. I love it. That's

9:18

awesome. Love stories like that. Neil, thank

9:20

you for sharing. Solly, incredible. Get your

9:22

skin checked, people. Once a year, very

9:25

easy. That's an easy goal to add. They

9:27

got a 21-week break. Yeah, that's a free one.

9:30

Big go. Well, we should get

9:32

into it. This is, what

9:35

is this? 1, 2, 3, 4,

9:37

5, 6, 7, 8. This will

9:39

be the ninth year we've termed

9:42

something. And so let

9:44

me take you guys back. It starts all the

9:47

way back in 2016, before

9:49

any of us were doing this full time.

9:52

And a gentleman named Jermichael Finley,

9:54

TC, near and dear to our

9:56

heart, one of the best

9:58

tight ends. of

10:01

his day. In 2016 we

10:03

dubbed the year of the takeover the yotto

10:06

if you will in honor

10:08

of Michael Finley who I

10:10

think first coined that phrase.

10:12

And then 2017 we went

10:15

from the year of the takeover into

10:17

of course who could forget the year

10:19

of rejoicing TC. This was a true

10:21

TC special. I believe you and Bubba

10:23

were doing a lot of rejoicing. I

10:25

don't know why that note is still

10:27

in my document but I think

10:30

you and Jerry were getting down

10:32

on it. And then 2018

10:35

we move into the year of accountability. A complete...

10:38

We're rejoicing too much. It's time to reign

10:40

it in. Well and I will add 2018

10:42

of course is when no laying

10:45

up became a full-time job. I think it

10:47

was like we looked around and was like

10:49

oh shit okay yeah we got to stop

10:51

rejoicing we got to start being accountable. I think

10:54

it was also a holding others accountable too. Because

10:57

I like the year of rejoicing actually

11:00

turned into like the year of me holding other

11:02

people accountable. And so I

11:04

think like the year rejoicing for me was actually more of

11:06

2018 and the year of accountability was

11:09

more 2017. That was more of a

11:11

personal thing. Yeah yeah you

11:14

do hold people accountable TC. I think that's

11:16

a constant through the years and we like

11:18

that about you. 2019 the aforementioned year of

11:21

Trent Dilfer living

11:24

on the edge of uncomfortable. It just

11:27

narrowly beat out the year of the Gautning and

11:30

the year of belligerence. We

11:32

were angry. We were angry in those years.

11:35

And who would have seen 2020? You

11:37

know the Gautning was in front

11:39

of us but 2020 we had

11:41

named the year of prioritization. 2021

11:43

was the year of the process.

11:48

2022 the

11:50

year of conviction. And

11:53

then last year with shout

11:55

outs to Infinite Resistance Frontiers

11:57

refinement and Shani we're all

12:00

finalist in 2022 but conviction won. So

12:02

apologies to your dermatologist, Sully. And then

12:04

we moved to 2023. Last year we

12:06

are coming off the year of, well

12:09

it was just prime. We

12:12

refined it down to

12:14

process powder refinement into

12:17

money elasticity. Prime.

12:19

This had beat out

12:21

you know the year

12:23

of stretching, acceleration, nash,

12:26

natural selection, elasticity,

12:29

separation, focus, refinement,

12:32

coalition of the willing, sustainability,

12:35

dry powder, and we got

12:37

to prime. And so gentlemen with

12:40

those eight years behind us,

12:42

yes Neil go ahead. I

12:44

was gonna say I mean how I think we

12:46

were ahead of the curve on prime. Incredible.

12:49

Who could I see Deon taking over

12:51

you got the Paul brothers just

12:53

killing kids with their energy drinks. We were

12:56

there first. I saw there was a Netflix

12:58

movie coming out called Prime. It was like

13:00

coming soon Prime. I was like God they

13:02

made a movie about this year already. I

13:04

say this and I'm not even I'm not

13:06

really even joking. I do think the trap

13:08

for all is at the forefront of a

13:10

lot of societal issues. Oh we

13:12

are. And event. 100%. We're on the bleeding edge. I've

13:14

seen 600 stories about tipping since

13:16

you guys started really alerting the

13:19

people to this catastrophe. Everybody

13:21

seems to be talking about shipping again.

13:24

Exactly. You know, checkpoints, airlines, stuff like

13:26

Ukraine. So 2024 gentlemen

13:28

here we are.

13:34

What shall 2024 be?

13:36

Does anybody want to be bold

13:39

enough, confident enough to throw out

13:41

our first possibility? Not after

13:43

that. Absolutely not am I following all the names

13:45

that you just ran off? Oh

13:48

I'd be happy to. Neil

13:51

the floor is yours. I

13:53

said I have a personal resolution. I want to

13:55

start here. You know what I

13:57

think I want to get more dubs in 2020. And

14:01

by dubs, I mean W's. I don't care

14:03

large or small. I would throw

14:05

out to the group the year of more dubs As

14:09

a starting point, you know, just it feels good

14:12

to win. Yeah, you win a refuge event feels

14:14

great You win a hot dudes volleyball outing, you

14:16

know feels great, right? Like you don't get paid

14:18

for that You don't get anything for it, but

14:20

it feels good to win, you know, it's

14:23

an election year Trump's coming around We're doing lots

14:25

of winning So I was gonna say any concern

14:27

you're gonna be tired of winning by the end

14:29

of it There

14:31

could be but that's something we could analyze on the 2025 goals

14:34

podcast Tinch.

14:36

Okay, it's a great don't hate it. Yeah, I don't

14:38

hate it. I think everybody likes wedding

14:41

Do you think do you feel like that's two results? Focused

14:45

with the more the year the process say about

14:47

that. Yeah, it's been a big process focus I'm

14:50

not saying it's I'm just asking the question This

14:53

is a starting point not an ending point I

14:55

have a couple other ones I'd like to

14:58

throw at you Please

15:00

the year of day ones the year of

15:02

fundamentals kind of a return to you know, we're a

15:04

decade into this thing How do we get how

15:06

do we get back to the day once doing stuff

15:09

for the day once getting back to the fundamentals? Right

15:12

just true Tim Duncan stuff

15:14

right off the glass not nothing fancy, you

15:16

know Just get back to our roots a

15:18

little bit curious what you guys

15:20

think of something Follow-up to that meal that my

15:23

number one On my list

15:25

was the year of development done a

15:27

lot of land grabbing over the

15:29

last, you know Ten years if you will, maybe it's something

15:31

we've been sitting on some of this land, you know, maybe

15:33

not doing much a whole lot with it How do we

15:35

develop it? You know, how do we put some you know,

15:37

put some housing units and put some sewage in You

15:40

know put a park in you know Do all

15:42

the things that they need to happen to develop

15:44

some of these spaces kind of more for the

15:46

day ones and the that You know the the

15:48

crew that like rides for us more so than

15:50

the trying to reach continuing to

15:52

reach new fans That's

15:55

I'm fishing in the same ponds. I guys

15:57

I had an adult adolescence, you

15:59

know been thrown 10 years around a

16:01

lot TC I know you've been

16:03

researching the emotionally strong boys you know

16:05

it's easy to be easy to be a little kid just running

16:13

amok smashing windows you

16:15

know everybody thinks you're cute you

16:18

know easy to be easy to

16:20

be one of those a little tougher to start you

16:22

know pulling the picture into focus start

16:24

to starting to develop things starting to starting to

16:27

become a TC from an emotionally strong boy to

16:29

a fine young man I think

16:31

is it's kind of where we're at so

16:33

Solly I'm kind of with you and I think Neil the

16:35

way you get there is is through fundamentals so I I'd

16:37

really like both of those and

16:39

puberty well I was I had puberty on my

16:41

list I thought maybe we're not quite there yet

16:45

pretty bad yeah it could be 26 27 I got what I'm here you know

16:52

I've got similar to prime

16:54

I've got something a

16:56

word that I think encapsulates all of this and

16:59

then we can kind of go into it I

17:01

think it's the year the Commission and

17:03

it you know we can we can

17:06

honor our dear friend our former friend

17:08

the Commission I

17:10

think we're gonna get a new Commission this year

17:12

on the PGA tour I'm not

17:14

sure what other stuff you know

17:16

I think that would you know

17:19

so Commission co mm ish and

17:21

I think it's you know commitment

17:24

organization mineral rights

17:26

like you said Solly we've had these mineral

17:28

rights for a while now we

17:31

need to drill and refine

17:33

said minerals I

17:35

don't have another M right now and then more

17:38

men yeah I

17:40

mean iteration or iterating missing em

17:42

evolving stretching you

17:45

know we need to keep stretching and I think

17:47

I think humility you

17:51

know we still got to be humble we still got to be hungry

17:53

you know we just don't have

17:56

another M there's a lot to like

17:58

in there TC thank you for that I

18:01

TCI had an acronym as well. And mine

18:03

was built on, of course we know 2024

18:06

is a leap year. And

18:10

I think it dovetails nicely with what I'm

18:12

hearing from you guys as well. I was,

18:15

I was trying to think about L E

18:17

A P, you know, learnings, something

18:20

across practices

18:22

or there, you know, some, something

18:24

about learnings,

18:28

lessons, execution, lessons, execution,

18:30

like more. Yeah. The

18:34

acronyms are a cop out. We

18:36

might have to move away from the acronyms, but I feel like

18:38

this is the year we

18:41

make a leap personally, professionally,

18:43

collectively. You know, I

18:45

feel like people would make a leap. Any

18:48

other nominations? I had kind

18:50

of similar vein of development, but the year

18:53

of harvesting, um, you know,

18:55

we've, we've had some crops growing in a lot of ways.

18:57

How do we, it's a time to harvest the crops. I

18:59

haven't gotten all the way there with that one. Cause it

19:01

sounds like we're kind of cashing in and that's, that's kind

19:03

of the opposite of what I mean. But well, you got

19:05

to harvest every year. Yeah. You know,

19:07

you don't, you don't just harvest once you got to,

19:09

you know, you always got to harvest season

19:11

comes, comes all the time. Could be plus

19:13

I want to harvest some people's organs this year. Cause

19:16

the year of no beef is, is, is

19:18

done. Maybe I can come back again. I

19:22

like it. Getting dubs. It's,

19:25

it's simple. I know it is. You're right. It is results

19:27

oriented, which is, you know, we don't want to be waiting

19:29

to win it. All, you know, that's right.

19:31

I agree with that. Sometimes life be like, and

19:33

I just got to win. Sometimes you just got

19:36

to win results. You matter. Sometimes it could be

19:38

the year of Al Davis, you know, or

19:41

maybe you guys, uh, 2024 is

19:43

the year of the wooden

19:45

dragon. I believe

19:47

in, uh, the Chinese culture.

19:51

So, you know, our missing M

19:53

could be M M X

19:56

X IV, which is 2024 Roman numerals. course.

20:01

Yeah. And

20:03

then I feel like if we did go with the

20:05

year of the Commission, we would need to bring the

20:07

Commission into our lives, back into our

20:09

lives. I'm hearing a lot of

20:11

personal goals. Yeah, that sounds very, all that's

20:14

very personal. I'm not going to, I'm not

20:16

missing the Commission that much. I think he's

20:18

a great guy. I don't think about

20:20

him that much until you bring him up. I don't know

20:22

if I'm willing to dedicate my whole year to him. Yeah.

20:24

A lot. Everyone keeps talking about this year of commissioning. Like

20:26

everyone's talking about it. We keep coming

20:28

around to this one. We're all trying

20:30

to figure out the guys doing this. Solly,

20:33

I'm still fishing in the development pond.

20:35

I had another one on here, the

20:37

year of decluttering. So it's almost development,

20:40

but also. It's kind of a refinement

20:42

situation. Yeah. And then we've done prioritization

20:44

before, you know, but I

20:47

feel like we're kind of in that zone again.

20:50

Development's the one that's sticking out to me. Maturing.

20:53

That can be our M. Maturing. Yeah.

20:57

Yeah, it's a collaboration. Sure. The way of developing. Harvesting's

21:01

good because it has a pro. I also

21:03

like harvesting. It has some, some, uh, I mean,

21:06

what bigger dub? Hostile undertone? What bigger dub

21:08

is there than just pulling in a harvest?

21:13

Yeah. There's, you know, there's something there as

21:15

well. Results, but also like if

21:17

your, if your processes aren't in place, you're not harvesting

21:20

shit. Crop and crop. Crop prices

21:22

are fucking high right now. That's true. Crops

21:24

could be your CTC. Yeah.

21:30

Uh, you know, I do have some concerns

21:32

around development, you know, commercial

21:35

real estate might completely abode totally

21:37

this year. Inventory's low.

21:40

Yeah. Yeah. And like subdivisions and stuff calls to

21:42

mind, like stuff that I hate. So I

21:45

don't want to like, I'm thinking residential rip

21:47

all the trees. This isn't commercial development. There's

21:49

commercial. This is where you live. This is

21:51

lifestyle development more than it is business

21:54

development. But harvesting also calls

21:56

to mind like GMOs and pesticides

21:58

and monsoons. And things

22:00

like that. So there's there's pros and cons to

22:02

each people got to eat Yeah,

22:05

they do have to eat and we gotta

22:07

eat. What about the year of reaping? I

22:13

like that a lot. That's interesting. What's

22:15

the acronym for that? When

22:18

it sounds like leap it sounds like

22:20

leaping it does sound like leaping. Yeah,

22:23

it's anything but we're actually It goes

22:25

on leaping we're cleaning. We're culling We're

22:28

harvesting You

22:30

know, I'm you know what I know

22:32

it's early I'll put a vote behind reaping I

22:35

think yeah, good that has that has

22:37

the both the positive and the hostile undertones

22:39

I'm looking for the only thing

22:41

I don't like about it One of the definitions

22:43

is receive a reward or benefit as a consequence

22:45

of one's own or other people's actions Which

22:49

I think in dubs man. Yeah. Yeah, like we gotta Machine

22:54

to you know, we

22:56

want to sew this stuff the good stuff and

22:59

reap that like It's up to us to show

23:01

it properly or that's like we're reaping though I

23:03

guess if we can frame it as in, you

23:05

know, the audience is reaping from this that Ideally

23:08

they would be yeah, right. I mean if we're

23:10

so in the right stuff, hopefully they're reaping good

23:12

benefits But but ideally everybody's

23:15

right. Yeah, I mean, yeah

23:18

That's interesting God, I

23:20

could I you know that could be used in

23:22

a lot of ways. We're absolutely reaping things are

23:24

going well, you know Feels

23:27

like something we can share we're getting

23:29

dogs were reaping. I might I might

23:31

start calling myself the slim reaper Come

23:36

shout to KD I mean

23:38

do we have a quorum on reaping The

23:42

year of reaping I can get down with that I'm

23:44

in on reaping cuz I signed me out Yeah, I

23:46

think you can crowbar most of the stuff we were

23:49

talking about into it. I Mean,

23:51

it's just you can't you can't have it without sewing right?

23:53

So I think that almost like we've been

23:55

sewing for the last nine years on this

23:58

podcast, right? And I

24:00

think we've been sewing a lot of the right stuff now

24:02

We haven't followed up on all of it as we'll go

24:04

through but You

24:06

know, we're trying we're trying to sew it the

24:08

right way. We've also had some you know, some

24:10

crop What do you call that when you mix

24:12

them up between the fields? Yeah,

24:15

like I forget

24:17

what you call it like planting confusion or whatever when you're

24:20

Yeah, you just like let us we don't

24:22

want to hollow sometimes, you know Like we

24:24

let the web cycle fallow for a while

24:26

and then we start now American back guys

24:28

I've dropped that I prompted chat GPT to

24:31

make me an acronym using reaping and to make

24:33

it motivational It says

24:35

realize every aspiration persist in

24:37

nurturing growth. I Hate

24:40

to say that's pretty good Realize

24:45

every aspiration persist in

24:47

nurturing growth That's

24:50

way better than we were gonna come up with I

24:52

asked for four more resilience effort

24:54

ambition perseverance Integrity nourishment

24:57

gratitude or reach

24:59

every apex pursue innovation navigate

25:01

greatness Another

25:06

way I want us to be navigating greatness this

25:08

year I Would

25:13

say it's the year of it's a year of reaping

25:16

break some type of break get dubs.

25:18

Yeah parentheses get dubs Like

25:22

a rap song I think it's the year of reaping You

25:27

know and then old DJ what

25:29

we were talking about was crop rotation,

25:31

right? Yeah

25:36

And you know what it you know, if there's some some

25:38

third parties that aren't so in the right stuff They should

25:40

be reaping what they said. That's right. Well said we will

25:43

help them reap what they I know Yeah, I'd

25:45

argue you can only reap what you sow It's

25:50

hard to reap what you don't sow And

25:53

if there's famine or drought or anything like

25:56

that will deal with great opportunity for getting

25:58

dunked on on the back which we

26:00

welcome in terms of me reaping me sewing

26:02

meme is gonna be perfect.

26:05

We gotta lean into that though. I love it. Well

26:08

I think all of us are tasked with getting

26:10

dubs this year as part of the year of

26:12

reaping. Can we count we can count

26:15

the brandle thing as dub number one right? Yeah.

26:18

For sure. I think you can talk about reaping. I got a dub this

26:20

morning. I think it's you wake up. He beat

26:22

the shit out of some guy in the golf course. It's

26:24

3 10 a.m. PC was calling it elder abuse. Well

26:32

that's dubs baby. That's

26:36

reaping. And that guy reaped what

26:39

he sewed. All

26:41

right guys I like it. I think we have

26:43

our answer. 2024 officially christened the year of reaping.

26:48

And dot dot dot get some

26:50

dubs. We need to get

26:53

a gavel for this podcast. Randy I might I

26:55

might give that might be our gavel. Hark.

27:01

Here here. Well speaking of dubs we

27:04

we have our 2023 goals

27:06

to go over post-mortem on last

27:08

year's goals and then finally not

27:11

all dubs will unveil our

27:13

2024 our our new

27:15

goals. But guys before we get

27:17

there another sponsor to thank and

27:19

that is Roback our good friends

27:21

28:48

golf season with Roback. Thank

28:50

them very much for being a great sponsor.

28:52

Boys 2023 oh this might get ugly. We

28:54

are going to go agenda

29:01

wise we're gonna go in the order of I

29:04

believe a reverse order with how

29:06

we revealed 2023 goals.

29:08

And so Neil that leads us to

29:11

you take us through your 2023

29:14

goals. All

29:16

right, saddle strap

29:18

in boys. Time to reap.

29:20

Yeah it's kind of reap

29:23

what I said. So we started with the

29:25

golf stuff. Finish 2023 with a zero handicap

29:28

or better. Started the year with a 1.7 finish

29:30

the year with a 3.6. Didn't

29:33

get that one. Shoot 69 that

29:36

would have been nice more than once. Low

29:38

score was 73 not great. Track my stats.

29:40

I continue to be very bad at this.

29:43

I will say I did

29:45

a good job tracking hole by hole through

29:47

the USGA GIN app which I still think

29:49

is a disgrace because you can't export those

29:51

stats and they should have the best stats

29:53

of any app out there. I fell

29:55

off the horse in June and didn't get back on.

29:58

So I would say this is a I would

30:00

say half, but up until my

30:04

qualifying round for the MGA, which

30:06

we'll get to, I did a pretty

30:08

good job with this. 125

30:10

birdies or more, didn't really track it. 15

30:13

rounds with no doubles. I had three, which is not

30:15

very good. Practice putting

30:17

once a week at home, grooving

30:19

the stroke, didn't do this at all. I

30:22

think I maybe got the putting mat out once. Beat

30:25

Sali, didn't play. We

30:28

might solve that here coming up pretty

30:30

soon. Sign up and play in

30:32

at least one Met or USGA event. I did

30:35

this. I signed up for the Publinks

30:38

and I came in fourth and I

30:40

qualified for the Met Golf Association Publinks

30:42

Championship. You rocked them. I

30:45

could not play in said championship because I had

30:47

a member guest at Koma. I

30:50

did not expect to qualify for it. You

30:52

couldn't go in the Publinks. I thought you

30:54

guys would appreciate that. I

30:58

committed to my buddy. Shout out to the group. I

31:01

tried to figure out if I could book it. It

31:04

was at Beth Page who had been 36 holes. I was

31:06

trying to see if MacArthur had a flight to Cincy. I just

31:09

couldn't make it work. Couldn't make it work. Possibly

31:11

conflicting dubs. Possibly conflicting dubs

31:13

because we did make it to the knockout phase of

31:15

we won our flight at that member guest. So that

31:17

was a success. I

31:19

was playing some pretty good golf until I

31:22

just decided to not play anymore starting like

31:24

early July. I just didn't play for two months.

31:26

That was cool. I played in

31:28

at least two New York Roost events. I played in one

31:30

and I won the Shepherds Open. You can see by my

31:33

staff back here. Is that a crook or a staff? The

31:35

coolest crook in golf. That's a, it's

31:37

a, I

31:39

think you can reap with that. Yeah, no doubt. Yes.

31:43

It does have Grim Reaper adjacent

31:45

vibes to it. So

31:48

I was fired up about that. That was, that was a dub.

31:50

One of my dubs last year. Animal

31:52

shirt Monday. We're moving into the non golf

31:54

category here. Animal shirt Monday.

31:56

First Monday of the month. I did

31:58

the first three. But I did

32:01

not post enough to show

32:03

this to the world. So I would say this was a

32:05

fail. It's a bummer This was your year two

32:07

of animal shirt Monday though, right? Animal

32:11

shirt Monday was a resounding success the year

32:13

before it was weekly and I tried to

32:15

keep it going But it just was like,

32:17

you know, maybe maybe the bits played out

32:19

Also, there's this guy the Pat McAfee show

32:21

that wears the same like animal shirts that I

32:23

like He wears on like every episode and every time

32:26

it comes on like ESPN I'll be in the airport

32:28

like fuck that guy stealing my bit But

32:30

they're a lot bigger than we are and I'm not even gonna

32:32

fight him on that Keep that

32:34

guys is tough. Keep my weight below 190. I've

32:37

been below 190 since 2018 I

32:41

did little doctor's appointment this

32:43

week. I got on a

32:45

scale 203 not good red alert We're

32:47

gonna have to do something about this I don't know

32:49

what the fuck happened because it's like I have been

32:51

kind of working out But

32:54

I'm not having it wasn't fits muscle mass.

32:56

I Don't like it.

32:58

I'm not having like a BMI thing like if

33:00

you're above 200, it's kind of Zion Williamson has

33:02

that right? he's got a combo of

33:06

Like I don't want anybody carrying me

33:12

In the wrong pond, that's all the motivation you

33:14

need this is yeah, something

33:16

to watch sex addict Yes

33:30

You know sewing and in 20 yes, maybe 20 2023 was

33:32

the year of sewing All

33:38

right next cool Do

33:40

a half marathon Fucking

33:42

check this box. Yeah, pull this one off out

33:45

of you for that and got in under two

33:47

hours I think it was like a 157, you

33:50

know good pace for my first I was

33:52

very happy with my half marathon performance and

33:54

experience like compete Yeah, I

33:56

feel like you didn't this didn't get enough burn That's

34:00

the Brooklyn half marathon. My buddy Evan, shout out to

34:02

him. He heard the goals pod last year and he

34:04

was like, all right, you agreed to do a half

34:06

marathon with Randy. We're doing the Brooklyn marathon in April.

34:08

I was like, fuck. So I

34:10

did it. And I, you know,

34:12

he and my other buddy Jerry

34:15

were like, they had this whole training plan, you

34:17

know, they're on the Strava app. I'm like, guys,

34:19

you can unsubscribe me from the chat. I

34:21

don't like to run. I want to do this

34:23

like my way and just build up. And I

34:26

felt like I, I did a good job of

34:28

enjoying the process without getting addicted to

34:30

like my mile splits and all that competitive

34:32

running stuff. So I was, I was very happy. My

34:35

goal was to break two hours. Everyone's like, Oh, what

34:37

an easy goal. It's like, well, when you never done

34:39

one, I felt like that was a very, very

34:41

fair spot and I came in under that

34:44

goal. So very happy with that.

34:46

That was last April, late April. And, uh, you

34:48

know, once you, you know, once you get into

34:50

the groove of running, I definitely enjoy it a

34:52

lot more than I used to as a youngster.

34:55

I think it's all about, so more on this. Yeah. It's all

34:57

about pacing. Yeah. Or on

34:59

that to come next goal, compete weekly in

35:01

athletic event. My buddy, Evan also holding

35:03

me accountable on this. I think I did a

35:06

decent job of this. I didn't really track it, but I

35:09

played a lot of rec league hoops. I

35:11

played tennis with my father-in-law. I played a

35:13

lot of, uh, not a lot, but I

35:15

put some competitive golf. I think I did

35:17

a pretty good job with this one. Again, it fell off

35:19

towards the end of the summer. And then I got back

35:21

on, you know, on the horse a little bit in the

35:23

fall, but I would say, I don't

35:25

know, maybe this was just a shitty goal. Cause I didn't track

35:28

it. Uh, beat Randy and tennis. We didn't

35:30

play, um, read

35:32

at least 12 books. I got to 11. I

35:35

got, I keep getting stuck on

35:37

like books. I like, like I'm reading this dentist these

35:40

book right now. It's long and I'm like

35:42

halfway through it, but it's just taken a while to get

35:44

through it. So I don't know if I want to

35:46

give up on a book like that, but I

35:48

do want to see, you know, see it through

35:50

to the end. So Randy, we're kind of stuck

35:52

in our old habit. Maybe it's more of a,

35:54

uh, you know, micro like reading time goal rather

35:56

than like some objective number of books. Cause otherwise

35:59

you're going to incentive. I've done this and then

36:01

I just gravitate towards shorter books, which is dumb.

36:04

Yeah. Teach me

36:06

the test. To be discussed. Yeah. I

36:08

have a, that's not a bad idea. Um, and

36:10

I do read like I pretty much religiously read

36:13

every night before bed. It feels like a W.

36:15

Great habit to get. So I would say getting

36:17

to 11 is a, is a, I

36:19

would call that a dub. Keep a daily morning

36:21

journal and at least 30 day streak. I got

36:23

to, uh, I wrote it down. 16

36:27

day streak at the beginning of last year in

36:29

January. And I went, uh, 27 for 30 in

36:31

that first month. So I'd say that's a dub.

36:34

And, uh, then I, I was really good

36:36

about it up until early May and that

36:38

I just completely stopped. So wait,

36:41

what part of that was it? That one

36:43

back up because I, yeah, you've given yourself

36:45

dubs for I'm confused on these. I'd say

36:47

that you're right. I

36:50

didn't have a 30 day streak. So that's not a dub. 27 days

36:52

in a row. So that's a dub. You're

36:56

right. Some of this is the classic,

36:58

you know, fourth grade poster. If you, you know, you

37:00

shoot for the moon. If you miss you land among

37:02

the stars, man. We're out in the galaxy, baby. All

37:09

right. And then it gets a little, uh, little bleak.

37:11

You do 12 hours community service. Uh,

37:14

I didn't, I think I did one hour community service.

37:16

That's tough. And, uh, one activity

37:18

in a new neighborhood every month. I don't even

37:21

think I came close on this one. Uh,

37:23

and then find a local watering hole. I

37:25

will call out the bar down the street

37:27

from me, bar grade Harry. I do like

37:30

that place. We'll call that my local watering

37:32

hole. So fuck off. You guys, anybody know

37:34

your name at bar grade Harry? No, they

37:36

don't feel that feels kind

37:38

of antithetical to what the point. I would not call

37:40

that one a dub. Nice stink. Okay. It was a

37:42

tough year. They'll take an L. He

37:46

did so though. All

37:48

right, Neil, thank you very much. I have a

37:50

feeling you're not alone in not

37:52

getting many dubs this year. Uh, DJ, you are

37:54

next up. Why don't you run us through your

37:56

2023 goals? Yeah,

37:59

happily. This the centerpiece of my

38:01

goals as you'll remember Neil was the mr. 400

38:03

challenge I was

38:05

so fired up about the also known as the 400 Club This

38:09

was trying to accomplish 100 of

38:11

each of these subset goals. That is

38:13

a hundred movies 100

38:16

new albums listen to all the way through

38:18

that I've never listened to before a hundred

38:20

workouts and of course a hundred birdies We'll

38:24

skip to the end the the total was 348 Which

38:28

is not not The

38:35

the breakout in descending order was

38:38

a hundred and one workouts feel feel solid

38:40

about that Probably probably

38:42

needed to find better define the workouts

38:44

if we were to implement this challenge again I did

38:47

count full 18 whole walking rounds of golf,

38:49

which I mean feels like a I think

38:51

feels like a workout Yeah,

38:54

that was kind of you know, that's taking the place

38:56

of so that's that's a good bit of them So

38:58

it was a lot of like if I'm walking doing

39:00

that I'm not really going to the gym So there's

39:03

you know, we don't need to get too persnickety, but there's

39:06

some holes to be poked in that one Probably you feel

39:08

good about it. That's that that counts. That's I don't know

39:10

that I do that's kind of the thing Riding

39:14

in a cart. No walking 18. Yes.

39:16

Oh, you're walking at least what like

39:18

five miles. That's absolutely a workout Thanks

39:21

guys. So 101 there 90 movies

39:24

Randy got to do better than that. We built

39:27

a dock to track everything Which

39:29

which was very fun? Randy

39:31

and Tim and I who are gearing

39:33

up for our Oscars pod had a good Google Doc

39:35

or we could See each other's thoughts

39:37

on the movies we were watching. So it got to 90 there

39:41

Got to 90 birdies, which was

39:43

so frustrating so frustrating. I can

39:46

put I Just

39:48

couldn't make any putts. That's more true than than

39:50

you might think But

39:52

I think 90's got to be a high watermark

39:54

for me. So that might be aimed for the

39:56

moon landing amongst the dubs So

39:59

I'll take that And then

40:01

new albums, you can do the math that leaves 67

40:03

new albums. Honestly,

40:06

I hate to sound like an

40:08

old curmudgeon, just didn't enjoy doing this all that much.

40:10

I thought I would. I'm a creature of habit. I

40:13

like listening to older stuff. I don't listen to that

40:15

much music. So it kind

40:17

of became a chore to like sit down and just

40:19

like actively listen to new music.

40:21

But it's a lot of bad stuff. Like,

40:23

you know, like you got to filter through

40:25

a lot of. Yeah. And then you want

40:27

to talk about like being stuck in a

40:29

book. It's like same feeling of just you get

40:31

to track three and it's like, oh, got it. What

40:33

I got was like 45 more minutes of this. Like,

40:36

you know, so that one became a bit of a chore. The Mr. 400

40:39

Club, I would give it, you know, I'd give it a C

40:42

overall. It very much

40:44

pushed a lot of these things, which

40:46

again, if we're, if we're looking to

40:48

be a process based rather than results based, I had

40:50

a fucking blast playing golf this year because I was

40:52

trying to make birdies on every hole.

40:55

I mean, it was always fun to have that to

40:57

track. Even if I'm not playing well, I

40:59

could, you know, always have that to fall back on.

41:01

So it was very engaging thing. So that was a

41:04

lot. I would just say doing a little

41:06

math 348 divided by 400 is 87%. I

41:11

mean, so maybe we're pushing B plus. I

41:13

think that's certainly a dog. Yeah, that's in

41:15

the B range at worst. Uh,

41:17

all right. Well, I think this, we're

41:19

not going to put this exact thing back into play. We're going

41:21

to put it on the shelf, but maybe when we get to,

41:24

you know, the year of puberty or something, we'll, we'll

41:26

dust off the Mr. 400 club again, or

41:28

I would welcome anybody else to give it a shot and, uh,

41:31

let me know how it goes. Uh,

41:33

one new restaurant per month. Check

41:36

did it, uh, rocked them.

41:38

That was an easy one. Move to a new

41:41

city. You know, again, some of this kind of

41:43

runs counter to like working out, but you know,

41:45

well, we'll still count it as a expanding

41:47

my Milwaukee horizons. 10

41:50

new golf courses in Wisconsin. We got to

41:52

nine. I don't, I didn't, I didn't track

41:54

this. At all until we were, I was

41:56

looking at nine in like three days. A

42:00

lot of that was the, I think maybe

42:02

five of them were the top 100

42:05

thing that we did. But if

42:07

I would have tracked this, I would have seen it on the calendar

42:10

and I would have just gone and played another one. But again, got

42:12

to print your goals, got to track your goals, didn't do it.

42:14

And so I was looking at this yesterday and was like, fuck,

42:17

I got the nine. I could have got the

42:19

10 easily. Play

42:21

with my dad three times, played with him

42:23

zero times. So that's an L.

42:25

We're not going to count that as a dub. I

42:29

played at golf. I played him

42:31

once. I did make an effort to get out to

42:33

his home course, the pipe. And

42:36

I lost that match. I

42:38

punted it away at the last couple of holes. I told

42:40

I had him and I didn't do

42:42

it. So that sucks. And

42:44

then go seemed live music 10 times. I

42:47

think maybe by my count, I got to

42:49

seven. So honestly,

42:51

pretty good. Pretty decent, decent year,

42:53

pretty decent year for achieving stuff.

42:57

Pretty good progress on everything.

42:59

A lot of improvements still left to be

43:01

made. But

43:04

maybe I'll bump my Mr. 400

43:07

thing up to B plus and I'll give myself

43:09

a kind of C overall on the year. All

43:12

right. A little curve. Yeah. That's

43:15

all fair. Thank you very much. Next

43:18

we go to Mr. TC. Tron,

43:20

run us through your goals, please. In

43:23

the first one, I think we can

43:25

unequivocally say of the dub, less

43:28

beef, less beef

43:30

in 2023. I

43:32

think I accomplished this. I

43:34

didn't mean no beef. It meant that

43:36

was a distinction many people missed. Yeah.

43:38

It's like, hey, like, you know, I'm picking

43:40

my spots. I'm trying to get Wagyu or

43:43

prime or, you know, it wasn't right. Yeah.

43:47

Yeah. And I think I did it.

43:49

I think there were so many times when I was like, you know

43:51

what, TC, put the phone down and

43:53

just go. We're not sure with that. Yeah.

43:56

Just go take a couple of deep breaths and think

43:58

about this. And I did and it was

44:01

for the better. So I think the

44:03

less beef was a massive dub. Who

44:06

do you think you had the most beef with? Ruiz? Yeah,

44:10

probably that was. Let's see. You

44:12

got the McDonald's on the way home for the airport. Yeah,

44:16

that was bad. I mean, that was, that might not

44:18

even been beefed like beef. That

44:20

could have been like the plant beef or

44:22

whatever, you know, the impossible. Beyond

44:24

the PC. So

44:28

next up we had get under a one

44:30

handicap. This was a dub. I

44:32

didn't really try for this to

44:34

be a dub or anything. I went out and

44:36

I shot 65 and then shot

44:39

really well, a couple other rounds. And it just

44:42

happened. And then I got down to like a

44:44

0.8 or a 0.9 and I was like, whoa,

44:46

like I'm not good enough to be this low.

44:48

And people started taking so much money off me.

44:50

I finally, the last couple of

44:52

weeks got that 65 off of my last

44:54

20 rounds. So

44:56

I'm back up to like a 2.1, which is,

44:59

that's a very, very good place for me to

45:01

be, but you know, big dub there. I

45:03

feel like I played some of the best golf I played

45:05

in 15 years in 2023. Number

45:09

three was qualify for the U

45:11

S mid-am. Uh,

45:13

I didn't even sign up. So,

45:17

uh, you know, maybe not probably going to an L.

45:22

Yeah. It's a no decision. Yeah,

45:25

exactly. Number four, eliminate the left miss.

45:28

Unequivocally. I did this really.

45:32

Yeah. You know what, Neil? I did it after I

45:34

lost the veteran screen. Yeah.

45:36

That was video evidence of that

45:38

not being the game. I was the last, you

45:41

know, instance of the left miss. And then, you

45:43

know, uh, it's been a last photographic evidence of

45:45

the left. Of the left miss. Yeah.

45:48

So dub beat Neil's ass in a

45:50

match. I E in a convincing manner.

45:53

I did not do that. I don't think, did I at least

45:56

not on camera. No,

45:58

we split. decision with

46:00

with mom and dad who won the yeah I

46:02

mean on me one we played at the tree

46:04

farm but I don't think there was

46:06

anything convincing who won the Omni one Bedford

46:09

you know I did even

46:11

though he's getting a shot on a par-3 and

46:15

I hit a golf shot on that par-3 the volcano hole

46:19

you did so this is an L next

46:22

one master 12 cooking techniques

46:25

this one was kind of tough to track

46:27

just because there's not that

46:29

many like techniques really so I kind

46:31

of took it a different way it's

46:34

a massive dub first of all I cooked

46:36

my face off this year it did I

46:39

think you always it tips and tricks every time I was

46:41

talking to you yeah so I like

46:43

it got deep into sous vide over the

46:45

last three months or so blanching

46:48

poaching con fee

46:51

I did some ceviche I

46:53

did in papalote or in papalote

46:55

the when you do something like

46:58

the parchment paper or made a

47:00

bunch of baragools I

47:02

cooked I cooked my way through like three different

47:04

cookbooks and so

47:06

yeah and then I would say too I

47:08

I feel like I mastered different ingredients more

47:11

so than techniques or processes so I

47:13

go over the last three or four weeks I've been deep

47:15

into leaks just going nuts on

47:17

all these different leak recipes or

47:19

yeah I got deep into

47:21

you udon noodles you're leaking or you

47:25

know vermicelli yeah yeah I

47:27

feel like I I really

47:29

took a big step forward as far as far

47:32

as objective cooking skills this year so

47:34

you know massive dub there take two

47:37

trips with Freddie and one with Gustav

47:40

I took two with Freddie I

47:42

took him it was like a day trip but little

47:44

fishing trip and then took him up

47:46

to Savannah for the Dude Perfect show

47:49

with the party doctor and met Luke Boatwright up

47:52

there with his son I did not take a

47:54

trip with Gustav she's on the dope playlist so

47:56

that yeah he's like a I

47:58

mean we did do family vacation that It

48:00

wasn't a trip just for him. I'm gonna do that

48:02

this year. He's just you know,

48:04

he just wasn't Wasn't ripe

48:07

for that. He wasn't exactly a good place

48:10

Yeah, like he would have he would have gotten me

48:12

on the no fly list like Pac-man. So L

48:15

there not number nine get

48:18

better at maintenance. No, no, no, we

48:20

skipped one. Oh, yeah visit

48:22

New Orleans and lost That's

48:24

given that one. I Did

48:27

not do either of those things I

48:29

had a chance to go to Las Vegas During

48:32

f1 week. I wanted nothing did I want to go

48:34

to Vegas on like a normal? You

48:37

know non event Week,

48:39

so we're gonna get there at

48:41

some point, but it's gonna be with the right crew

48:43

the right Circumstances,

48:45

you know, it's like the

48:48

Eddie, you know the visions were right

48:50

this year. So that's a duck Get

48:55

better at maintenance so fixing

48:58

things phone tabs Getting

49:01

better at organizing my photos and deleting,

49:03

you know screenshots stuff like that. Uh,

49:06

I would say Moderately better at

49:08

fixing things. I'm not super

49:10

handy I'm still waiting on solid to come over and

49:13

fix my basketball rim that he

49:15

is in our friend Harrison Broke

49:18

when they were dunking Oliver's Freddy How's

49:21

it does the phone tabs the

49:23

phone tabs thing? It's a like

49:25

this is I could not be taking a bigger

49:27

L We backslate I'm up. Yeah, I'm up to

49:29

like 400 tabs open

49:32

and that's with like offloading stuff into the

49:34

reading list. Mmm I'm abusing the hell out

49:36

of the reading list. I'm abusing the hell

49:38

out of you know different

49:40

saved articles in Whether

49:43

it's Wall Street Journal or New York Times or

49:45

whatever so massive L

49:47

there and then the photos Getting

49:50

better not there yet. So this was this was

49:52

a huge L Next one

49:54

was read 12 books TC. If I may.

49:56

Sorry real quick. The photo organization was not

49:58

one of my goals But actually

50:01

it was at the International Crown Pro-Am

50:03

that we got to play in. One

50:06

of the gifts for the participants was

50:08

an electronic photo frame. And

50:12

that's been one of my favorite things of 2023. And

50:15

just like, I have all these photos in my

50:17

phone and now I can easily just upload them

50:19

onto this electronic frame and they

50:21

just cycle through. And it's like, I'm actually getting

50:24

something out of them. And

50:26

it forces you to like go through and

50:28

curate them? Yeah. Like which ones you are good enough

50:30

for the frame. And then if it's not, it's like,

50:32

well, why do I need this? I just delete them.

50:36

And part of the issue too, is I think, I think

50:38

I've got it set up to where like when something, it's

50:40

an easy setting to just fix, but like when

50:43

I post something on Instagram, especially

50:45

from like the main account, it saves

50:47

it onto my phone as well. So

50:50

that's just so much clutter going

50:52

into my photo library. Anyway, read 12

50:54

books. I think I read 10. Again,

50:57

I feel like I read a lot, but

50:59

you know, it didn't, it's not a

51:02

Neil. Dub. It's essentially lowercase dub. And

51:05

then play tennis 12 times. You guys

51:07

know how many times I played zero point zero

51:10

zero zero. I don't even know in a tennis

51:12

rack anymore. So

51:15

that's, that's, that's a no decision. I mean, would

51:17

have been a dub had you on a racket.

51:20

Exactly. That's

51:23

everything. Thank you. That's pretty good.

51:26

Yeah. I

51:28

just want to make a note for the audience.

51:30

You're not supposed to hit all your goals. That's

51:32

not what this exercise is about. That's right. That's

51:34

right. And I, I think that's

51:37

the goal of mine this next year to not hit all my goals. I,

51:41

you know what, Neil, I took that personally because

51:43

my goals, I had Randy, I cannot wait to

51:45

dig into. I had nine of them. All right.

51:47

We'll start with the golf ones. I wanted to

51:50

make 60 birdies or

51:52

more in 2023 guys. I've,

51:55

I've the final tabulations are in. I

51:58

made 25 birdies and one. eagle.

52:01

So that's not even close. How

52:04

many rounds you log this year? But

52:07

that's, if there is a silver

52:09

lining, I logged 29 rounds in,

52:11

in my, in my gin app

52:14

this year, which is like by far the,

52:16

and how many birdies you said? 20, 25.

52:20

So with an eagle. Oh, 25 birdies.

52:22

Yeah. 29 rounds. Yeah. So,

52:25

you know, it's not great.

52:28

We just. It's

52:31

hard to play 29 rounds of golf. Had

52:36

I, had I played a hundred rounds, we definitely would have gotten

52:38

to 60. So, you know, you do

52:40

the math. I wanted

52:42

to, I wanted to have eight rounds

52:44

of golf without a

52:46

double bogey or worse guys.

52:49

I didn't play a single round without

52:51

a double bogey or worse this year.

52:53

I, and I came so damn close

52:55

on multiple occasions. I just could not

52:58

avoid the big mistake this year. So

53:00

that's a. Randy, I struggled with this

53:02

too. I had like nine a few

53:04

years ago and it's just, it's just been a, the

53:09

big numbers just lurking late in the rounds too. There's

53:11

something to do. It's a great goal because it keeps

53:13

you locked in. I love the goal. Around when you're

53:15

not playing. Well, I, I, this is one thing I

53:17

do track and it's like, God, I just,

53:19

so many times it slipped away at the end. I also think

53:21

our friends Pia and Lynn would probably be like,

53:23

Hey, stop thinking about not making doubles. Yeah. Cause

53:26

I feel you guys in a big way. I, the amount of

53:28

times I got to, I think about it all the time. The

53:31

amount of times I got to the 15th hole and like pulled

53:33

my head up and topped the ball to a hazard or something

53:35

out of nowhere is like so

53:38

frustrating. And you know, you, you

53:40

make like a double on the second or third

53:42

hole. And I'm like, yeah, that goal's gone. Like

53:44

can't, can't get that one. This guy's thinking about

53:46

dubs too much. I know. This

53:49

is what I was worried about. We were getting a

53:51

lot of dubs in 2023. So

53:55

my final golf goal was finished the year with an

53:57

index. starting

54:00

with a six guys, we

54:02

did not get there at no time. Did we

54:05

get down to a six, but we finished

54:07

a year with a 7.9 and you know

54:09

what? That's not nothing. I think that might

54:11

be the first time I've finished a

54:13

year. So while we didn't play a lot

54:15

of golf, we played like just

54:18

okay, pretty good golf for, for my

54:20

standards. So I, I, I am encouraged,

54:23

I think looking forward to a big 20,

54:25

24. All

54:28

right. Non golf goals, run

54:30

a marathon. We did not do that. And

54:33

I hate, I, you

54:36

know, that's, that's a big thing and

54:38

I didn't even really try. We

54:41

were, my buddy and I were trying to,

54:43

you know, we had Chicago in mind

54:46

as a good marathon, we woefully missed

54:48

the signup for that and just did

54:50

not put in much effort beyond, so

54:53

hate that one. Next one ski

54:55

20 days or more this season. We

54:58

got closer this year. I believe we hit 16

55:01

days, did not get to 20, 20, 20 proves elusive.

55:05

And you know what? The thing is moving out

55:07

here. It's low key hard

55:10

to just ski on weekends because of

55:12

the traffic and weekend

55:15

skiing is very tough, but able to

55:17

get up now and again during, during

55:20

the week, uh, took a couple

55:22

of ski trips, had a couple of ski

55:24

weekends, but was not, not able to get to 20.

55:28

What was your total? 16 days. Okay.

55:32

I mean, I feel like that's, you know, 20 still

55:35

feels like a proper goal. Yeah. It's

55:37

a, it's a good, it's a good

55:39

goal to have. Next

55:41

one was complete 12 hikes. Guys, I

55:43

think I did too. I was

55:46

just not feeling that one this year. And

55:48

as I go through these, I've, that

55:50

was that, like, what was I doing with that goal? I

55:53

didn't. Yeah. That was,

55:56

that was an old goal. One

55:58

of my most interesting ones. Okay. The next.

56:00

school a hundred plus technically all technically all

56:02

of these are own goals I know they're

56:04

all own goals next one

56:07

a hundred plus yoga sessions all right total

56:09

good news bad news situation on this

56:12

one I did not do a single

56:14

yoga session until September 30th Neil

56:17

I remember talking to you a lot

56:20

at the Solheim Cup I it really

56:22

struck me this year turning 40 I

56:24

gotta start doing more maintenance on the

56:26

body and for me that includes stretching

56:29

stretching is gonna be my holy grail

56:32

and I got home from the Solheim Cup my

56:34

birthday was 10 days away and I said

56:36

now is the time and so

56:38

I started yoga on September 30th I got 35

56:42

yoga sessions the rest of 2023 which

56:46

puts me on a pace over the full year of

56:49

comfortably going over a hundred but I did

56:51

not start until September so that

56:53

is an L but with good

56:55

call that a mini dub a lowercase I

56:58

think like a medical exemption for it and like if

57:00

you make it back to

57:02

next September with a hundred that's

57:04

a retroactive dub rolling to

57:07

right now you're on like a hundred

57:09

and forty pace oh it has changed

57:11

my life I am the annoying person

57:13

that will tell you all about how

57:15

awesome yoga is I would

57:17

recommend it to anybody and everybody it

57:20

truly is one of the things that has made my life

57:22

better in 2023 so the

57:27

next one volunteer at least 12

57:29

times I this I

57:32

am ashamed of this one I did not

57:35

I don't know if I didn't volunteer once I

57:38

traded several emails with Denver

57:40

public school officials I have

57:42

traded emails with three or

57:44

four principals of schools apparently

57:47

there's not a big demand for for at

57:50

least my volunteer services which which

57:52

is a bummer because I would

57:54

have loved like I don't

57:57

know they on their website they talk about hey come

57:59

in and read the kids or, you

58:01

know, you can talk to them about career

58:04

and all of that stuff. Did not

58:06

happen for me in 2023. I

58:08

am ashamed of this one and this will

58:10

be righted in 2024. Not

58:13

to spoil it. My lips, the

58:16

buck stops here. Uh, and

58:19

then my last one was one year that they

58:21

start school at like seven 30 and that was

58:23

not going to work. Yeah. Yeah.

58:25

That's, you know, I

58:27

mean, come on. It should be easier to match.

58:31

I feel the same way, Randy. I just, and I

58:33

didn't even, at least you traded some emails. I just

58:35

let this one fall out

58:37

of the back of my brain pretty quick. Yeah. So is

58:39

a dub. No,

58:41

come on. I wasn't giving myself dubs for

58:44

everything. Mini dubs. And then my

58:46

last one was the restaurant number. I

58:48

did get this one. This was by

58:50

far the easiest one to hit. I,

58:52

I, after I hit 12 new

58:54

ones, I stopped keeping track, but I got a thing. I

58:56

probably went to 20, 25 new restaurants

58:59

this year. I

59:02

got, I got one decisive dove in there.

59:04

It was a bad year for my goals

59:06

and that has happened from time to time.

59:09

And so the challenge will be this year. I've really

59:11

tried to make better, more thoughtful goals.

59:14

So Ali, why don't you conclude the

59:16

2023 post-mortem? Tell

59:18

us about your goals. So my

59:20

goals for 2023 were, uh, it's

59:22

a bit weird, weird timing at this time. Last

59:24

year we were, uh, we, my wife was pregnant

59:26

with our, uh, our first child yet. We were,

59:28

that information was not out there yet. So I

59:31

had to carry on the goals, uh,

59:33

podcast last year as if, uh, that was

59:35

not, uh, you know, as

59:37

if that did not exist, which it most definitely did.

59:40

So I'm, I'm, I'm great at myself. So I was

59:42

throwing up financial. Listen, I haven't financial before. You

59:45

went to talk about reaping and sewing. So

59:47

it was solid undisclosed goals. You can probably put

59:49

two and two together. One of my undisclosed goals

59:52

last year was, uh, in 2022 was

59:54

to start a family. And I could not celebrate

59:56

that win at this time last year, but we

59:58

can, of course, celebrate that win. and retroactively

1:00:01

this year. And I

1:00:04

hit my 2022 financial goal in

1:00:06

2023, but that's a different

1:00:08

goal. Anyways. You just got deferred.

1:00:11

Deferred dubs. Exactly. It was delayed dubs.

1:00:14

I had a goal of three hours of fitness

1:00:16

per week with a maximum of one hour per

1:00:18

day counting. So basically like you can't play one

1:00:20

round of golf and have that count towards your

1:00:22

three hours. So I had to get to the

1:00:24

gym. Does golf count? Walking golf counted

1:00:26

in that, but it only counts for one hour, right?

1:00:29

So it wouldn't matter what you did. It only counts for one hour. So basically

1:00:31

you had to get out for three hours, three

1:00:33

different times for an hour a week. I was

1:00:35

doing really well on this prior to

1:00:37

the baby coming and I've not

1:00:40

done great since. And I'm definitely like

1:00:42

off the wagon. I would like, I've started to pick up a

1:00:44

little bit, you know, going to the gym every now and then

1:00:47

walking a little bit more golf, but I've definitely fallen off this

1:00:49

pace, but I'll give myself a whatever. Up

1:00:51

to the baby coming. I was very good on this one.

1:00:54

So I feel pretty proud about that one. Wanted to make

1:00:56

it out of locals in US Open qualifying. I got an

1:00:58

NA on this one. We had

1:01:00

a Rome scouting trip pop up

1:01:03

in early May, which also led

1:01:05

to me not be able to make match play in

1:01:08

the Florida mid-am because I was not able to qualify

1:01:10

for that because the mid-am was while we were also

1:01:13

over there in Rome. So another NA

1:01:15

grade or fail for that, whatever. It

1:01:17

didn't come up. A mini

1:01:19

dub. It could be a dub. One

1:01:22

of the top 10 at the Gasparilla, with that

1:01:24

looking hindsight, that was very, very,

1:01:27

very aspirational goal. I,

1:01:29

that's a fail, but I did make the cut, which

1:01:31

I'm, you played better last year, right?

1:01:34

I played, I made the cut on the number. I

1:01:36

played better than that. I just like kind of choked

1:01:39

and fell back to, you know, I was, I made the

1:01:41

turn and I was like four off the lead and then

1:01:43

had a very bad back nine, but I

1:01:45

made the cut. It was one of my better

1:01:47

showings out there. So not a dub, but that

1:01:49

was a very, very, that was a stretch goal.

1:01:53

Qualified for the US mid-am. My

1:01:55

daughter was born four hours before my qualifying

1:01:57

qualifying tee time and was not.

1:02:00

allowed to go so I

1:02:02

think that's a dub obviously but no

1:02:04

I was unable to go to my qualifier you

1:02:06

should have given me your spot qualifier

1:02:09

I don't think that's quite how it works but

1:02:11

I would have gladly gladly done that I

1:02:14

can't make it but I'm sending my

1:02:16

boy my top guy he's my guy

1:02:18

PC's he's got me covered make it

1:02:20

to return to a plus two handicap

1:02:22

or better man what a fail on

1:02:24

this one we hit 2.1 before

1:02:27

the year ended which is the highest it's

1:02:29

been and God knows how long how

1:02:31

my handicap usually cycles is it goes way down

1:02:33

in the summer when courses get soft and in

1:02:35

the winter it goes way back up and I

1:02:38

didn't play almost any golf this summer

1:02:40

post baby so I never got that downward

1:02:42

cycle and I got soft caps towards

1:02:44

the end of the year so this

1:02:47

was a massive massive fail and

1:02:50

I will get to some of that yeah

1:02:52

all your soybeans came in but none of

1:02:55

your corn you didn't have that hot weather

1:02:57

exactly right get those corn that corn pop

1:02:59

although that's a maintenance goal right so very

1:03:01

true you know maintenance wise you've reached your

1:03:04

goal hey handicap this is like this is

1:03:06

actually by a reverse goal I

1:03:08

wanted to like start sandbagging you guys so

1:03:10

actually like if I put that in my

1:03:12

goals yet my handicap falls backwards it's really

1:03:14

interesting earlier bedtimes

1:03:17

earlier rise times yes big

1:03:20

check mark for me on this one pre baby

1:03:22

I was way better about just getting up

1:03:24

at a better time and not sitting and

1:03:26

scrolling my phone watching Instagram reels until one

1:03:28

o'clock in the morning and then waking up

1:03:30

at nine o'clock and being behind the time

1:03:32

so way better on this one obviously post

1:03:34

baby have been just incredible at this because

1:03:37

we're up at the crack of

1:03:39

dawn or before the crack of dawn pretty much every day of the you

1:03:42

know it's incredible if I may every

1:03:44

time I've gone to bed early and

1:03:46

I think early for me is pre

1:03:48

10 p.m. never once have

1:03:51

I regretted it and I always feel

1:03:53

like so much better than I say

1:03:55

and I just like realize that I

1:03:57

just can't quite connect those dots to

1:03:59

do it consistently Yeah. My

1:04:02

brain works at night though, man. Like I get, you know,

1:04:04

wife goes to bed and I'm just like, okay, it's time

1:04:06

to knock this out. I'm

1:04:08

ready to go. And I don't know. I got it. and

1:04:12

then. But, uh, take more Sunday

1:04:14

night pods off this week, at least five. That

1:04:16

was a yes. Um, I, I'm judging

1:04:18

this one outside of obviously the ones I missed with,

1:04:21

uh, once we had the baby. So

1:04:23

I, I did take several more weekends off, nights

1:04:25

off, live shows off. It's just some good schedule

1:04:27

maintenance to myself and just, uh, my instinct is

1:04:29

to, is to say yes and be on every

1:04:32

Sunday night, but it's, it's got to find some

1:04:34

balance, uh, on the home life as

1:04:36

well into the future. So, um, accomplish

1:04:38

that. Play more

1:04:40

golf in 2023 than I did in 2022 failed this one.

1:04:45

I played 73 rounds in 22

1:04:47

got to got up to 65

1:04:49

with a late push, uh,

1:04:52

in November, December here. And

1:04:54

it's easily the least amount of rounds of golf

1:04:56

I've played, uh, since we we've started doing this

1:04:58

in every, every, uh, you know, I've,

1:05:00

I've, I've broken that record every year in a

1:05:02

row since 2020. So, uh,

1:05:04

we're looking potentially to reverse that trend in

1:05:07

the next year. You guys made a

1:05:09

bunch of, uh, community service goals last year. I made a

1:05:11

goal to play a new top 10 course in the world.

1:05:14

And I accomplished that goal last year. I played

1:05:16

Cypress point. Uh, I mentioned that

1:05:18

one specifically that I needed to get to with something

1:05:20

that, uh, you know, weird goal to

1:05:22

set, but I needed to put something, you know, put something

1:05:24

like that on paper to go out and do, or else

1:05:26

I just won't schedule the time to do it. Similar to

1:05:28

like taking Sunday nights off. I just like won't schedule it

1:05:30

off. I don't make an active, uh, pursuit to

1:05:32

do it. So check Mark on that one. I believe

1:05:35

that's all my goals from last year. And

1:05:37

you totally resuscitated a couple

1:05:40

of guys careers in the process. Right. Just,

1:05:42

just David, David, David Lingworth, Ben Rector's career still, uh, up

1:05:44

and up and up

1:05:48

for grabs. All right. Well,

1:05:51

guys, that was, that

1:05:53

was a good recap. You know, we,

1:05:55

we, we hit some, we miss

1:05:57

some, we didn't attempt some kind of.

1:06:00

of sounds like just about every year. So kudos

1:06:02

to that. Neil, before we get into 2024 goals,

1:07:12

many ads, so many ads back there.

1:07:14

God, that's crazy. So sick. I

1:07:17

have one question. We're going to randomize

1:07:19

the order for our goals unveiling. I

1:07:22

was going to go one to five

1:07:25

by age, but I'm unsure who is

1:07:27

older between TC and Solly. Which one

1:07:29

of you is older? TC

1:07:31

by three months. Okay, so

1:07:34

Solly, you'll be number three, DJ

1:07:36

two, Neil one, TC

1:07:39

and myself four or five. Alright, so the

1:07:41

first person. Oh my

1:07:43

god, it's five. So I guess that's

1:07:45

me. Alright

1:07:49

guys, the 2024 goals, I was disappointed

1:07:51

in going through my 2023 goals

1:07:53

because I felt like I

1:07:55

didn't know why I put a couple on there. I

1:07:57

didn't have good effort on a couple on there. especially

1:10:00

when you're playing shitty. And it helps.

1:10:02

Honestly, it helps with some decision making

1:10:04

during the round where it's like, man,

1:10:06

I could, I could go

1:10:08

for this stupid shot or like, Hey,

1:10:11

how do we, how do we

1:10:13

think about minimizing the damage? Let's just play

1:10:15

for a bogeys. Fine. So

1:10:18

we're going to, we're going to try to hit that one

1:10:20

this year. I'm very excited about that one. My

1:10:22

other two golf goals. I

1:10:25

want to win my NIT flight and Neil,

1:10:27

this goes great with getting dubs. Uh,

1:10:30

we talked about that at our, what was

1:10:32

that our company offsite? You, you, you were

1:10:34

kind of talking about, you know,

1:10:36

you, you just don't have a chance to win much anymore.

1:10:39

And so winning my NIT

1:10:42

flight is something I can control and it's

1:10:44

a good carrot out there, uh, which

1:10:46

is always towards the end of my golf season.

1:10:49

And then my last golf goal, we're

1:10:51

going to go back to trying to

1:10:54

end the year with a six dot

1:10:56

something handicap index. I feel like, you

1:10:58

know, if I'm making birdies, if

1:11:00

I've got a handful of rounds without a

1:11:02

double, if I'm able to win my NIT

1:11:04

flight, we're playing good golf. Let's

1:11:06

try to get that handicap down to something

1:11:09

starting with a six. That would be completely

1:11:11

new territory for me. So

1:11:15

those are my four golf goals. Now we're

1:11:17

going to go into like doing active,

1:11:19

active doing. We're coming back with the

1:11:21

yoga. I can't stress enough how much I

1:11:23

love yoga. We're going 120 plus yoga

1:11:25

classes in 2024. Wow.

1:11:30

He's definitely anti. I'm thinking

1:11:32

about that as between

1:11:35

two and three per

1:11:37

week on average. Something I

1:11:39

can do, something I need to do quite

1:11:41

frankly, the

1:11:44

next one, Neil, we're running a marathon

1:11:46

and guys breaking news across the wire.

1:11:48

I've, I've signed up for a marathon.

1:11:51

Whoa. Let's go. Yeah.

1:11:53

Which one? Richmond, Virginia, November

1:11:55

16th, 2024. Wow.

1:11:58

Let's go. Yeah, because

1:12:01

I was like if I don't sign up for one it's

1:12:03

never I just got to at least sign up for one

1:12:05

now I've since realized my girlfriend

1:12:07

informed me her birthday is November 14th

1:12:12

Did not make it a nice fun weekend Did

1:12:15

not see that nobody told me about that. It's

1:12:18

a four. There's a four in that Yeah,

1:12:21

remember 14. So we're we're we're

1:12:23

gonna strive to keep that as

1:12:25

our marathon target TBD

1:12:28

but we have signed up we have paid

1:12:30

a hundred and three dollars to do that

1:12:34

Hell yeah The next doing

1:12:36

I want to win a three and

1:12:38

a half rated tennis tournament in 2024

1:12:41

I think it's gonna be

1:12:43

any go. I think it's gonna be very difficult.

1:12:45

I don't presume that this will be easy But

1:12:48

I want to I want I want something

1:12:50

to compete for and so My

1:12:53

tennis rating got the downgraded After

1:12:56

2021 from a 4.0 to a 3.5. So

1:12:58

I got a better chance to compete. I

1:13:00

just got to get some reps I

1:13:03

really want to try to do this So

1:13:05

excited to update you guys next year at

1:13:07

this time on that one Then

1:13:10

I like big big tone going to win some

1:13:12

of those shit event. All right, like I gotta

1:13:14

go out to Bermuda to try to Get a

1:13:16

win. Yeah, I got a bit, you know, exactly

1:13:19

And then my my final doing one

1:13:21

the volunteering is back on the list

1:13:24

I want to do it 12 times at least

1:13:26

once per month on average I

1:13:30

think Obviously, it's it's

1:13:32

good to do. I think the

1:13:34

thing with volunteering it's cliche But

1:13:37

it feels very good selfishly to do and

1:13:39

I think the other benefit for me I

1:13:42

if I do it correctly, I should

1:13:45

meet new people I can maybe get

1:13:47

in new networks like things that are

1:13:49

also very important to me here in

1:13:51

Denver. So Those

1:13:54

are the four kind of active

1:13:56

participant goals and then I have

1:13:58

four experiential goals We're

1:14:01

going 12, once a month on

1:14:03

average, 12 cultural enrichment

1:14:05

days is what I'm calling them.

1:14:08

This is visiting a museum. This

1:14:10

could be going to hear a

1:14:12

speaker. This could be going to

1:14:14

a symphony, a play, something that's

1:14:17

culturally enriching. We got to do

1:14:19

that once a month. I

1:14:22

have seeing six live... Just like

1:14:25

a concert, just a live concert.

1:14:27

TC, great question because underneath that,

1:14:29

my second goal is C6 live

1:14:31

performances. Now this is the more

1:14:33

traditional concerts and I'm

1:14:36

including maybe a comedy show. I haven't seen a

1:14:38

comedy show in years. Don't

1:14:40

get dunked on. God,

1:14:42

Randy, I had that one on my list. Would a

1:14:44

live event count as a cultural... You own a comedy

1:14:47

specials. I

1:14:49

think you hit cultural experience and I'm sure

1:14:51

there'll be a concert. I think you're probably

1:14:53

knocking two birds with one. Think

1:14:55

about that. And

1:14:57

then my third one is three

1:15:00

Colorado summer excursions.

1:15:03

I'm thinking just little weekend getaways.

1:15:06

There's so many little towns and parts of

1:15:08

this state that are needing

1:15:11

to be explored and seen. And so I want

1:15:13

to make a goal for that. And

1:15:16

then my fourth and final experiential goal, I

1:15:18

want to visit two new US or

1:15:22

North American cities, cities

1:15:24

that naturally float to the

1:15:26

top of my list for me that I've

1:15:28

never been to. Seattle, Portland, Maine, Asheville,

1:15:31

North Carolina, Montreal. I

1:15:34

would love to get to two new cities

1:15:36

in 2024. So

1:15:38

that's my 444

1:15:41

kind of golfing, doing,

1:15:43

experiencing goals. I think it should

1:15:45

be you're working towards your GED. You're

1:15:49

golfing your experiences and you're doing. If

1:15:51

You commit all of them, you get your certificate

1:15:54

for your GED. I Love it. We're going for

1:15:56

the GED. And If you knock these out, I'll

1:15:58

print you a certificate. Wonderful

1:16:00

around getting ready to sign it. We should.

1:16:02

We should blow both a digital certificate many

1:16:04

can put it on his his picture front.

1:16:08

Of A cycles through

1:16:11

the Us for our

1:16:13

Atari Video. So

1:16:15

yeah, I'm excited about those. Yeah, I

1:16:17

think this is one of those years

1:16:19

I? I don't know. I feel more

1:16:21

excited about these goals than than even

1:16:23

last year. So we'll see. Ah. next

1:16:25

up I'm gonna hit the random number

1:16:27

generator. We. Have.

1:16:30

Number. Number to.

1:16:33

Believe. That Mr By housekeeper. Or

1:16:35

I ah, good timing because I

1:16:38

think we're gonna have or have

1:16:40

some echoes here. Randy between arse,

1:16:42

I have ten goal or eleven

1:16:44

goals. I have a five golf

1:16:46

course, five non golf goals and

1:16:49

one overarching goal. Ah, that is

1:16:51

kind of bridges. The two of

1:16:53

them will start their goal. number

1:16:55

one: big Circle underline, bold. Prince

1:16:58

Your Goals I said this I said the

1:17:00

so many times I was your bike as

1:17:02

I still didn't do it and if I

1:17:04

would have just had these like printed on

1:17:07

my office door as I might looking at

1:17:09

them. Everyday when I leave my

1:17:11

office I guarantee I would have done better. So.

1:17:13

The. Golden one is print my goals as can

1:17:15

be a big one meal would need that

1:17:18

or start with the golf related goals. Ah,

1:17:20

running back a lot of it. A hundred

1:17:22

birdies again as as mentioned at ninety this

1:17:24

year. so. Ghastly. That dragon

1:17:26

this year. I'm gonna run back again.

1:17:28

Ten new courses in Wisconsin. So beyond

1:17:30

the the nine that we play this

1:17:32

year, as good as go, Get ten

1:17:35

more reaping and sewing we've We've sewn

1:17:37

a lot of good will with Justine

1:17:39

Golf game. I feel like she's you

1:17:41

know, after a decade and a half

1:17:44

of kind of a. You.

1:17:46

Know, trying to maybe get something to

1:17:48

grow? It seems like maybe something's taken

1:17:50

root from a golf perspective. So I

1:17:52

have a place fifteen times with her.

1:17:55

This. Year? Ah, that can be nine holes?

1:17:57

that could be. You know what I'm getting.

1:18:00

The Golf Course. Fifteen times with my

1:18:02

wife Justine? How many? How many times

1:18:04

you want to beat her ass? Ideally,

1:18:07

fifteen, a bigger in a can be

1:18:09

great. Ah, we've come up with a

1:18:11

couple games that she's on force and

1:18:13

quite competitive. That said, I was deathly.

1:18:15

Not one hundred percent or this past

1:18:17

year. But you know, in the interest

1:18:19

stalking Dubs, I'll look to go fifty

1:18:21

Two Fifteen for the theory. Go. Ah,

1:18:25

Okay, this one's Big. I need

1:18:27

to. I've been so ah. I.

1:18:30

Just basically been like web m d

1:18:32

ings my golf game for just years

1:18:35

and years and years trying to self

1:18:37

diagnose stuff, trying to fix stuff mid

1:18:39

golf swing, try to just you know

1:18:41

swing feel as does you're just like

1:18:44

maybe it's this, ah maybe sit at

1:18:46

so I want to fully take. Three.

1:18:49

Real Capital L lessons. Get in

1:18:51

the car, drive to see somebody

1:18:53

ah and get some lessons under

1:18:55

my belt. So I've got a

1:18:57

couple warm leads there, but I

1:18:59

need to. We've started, You know,

1:19:01

fixing some structural damage and actually

1:19:03

having some. Real. Cohesive things

1:19:05

to work on. Ah, and the

1:19:08

my last Golf gold. Is.

1:19:11

One. Of the things I enjoy the most this year which

1:19:13

I think I did have a good job of was just. Recapturing

1:19:16

some of what I like about like the

1:19:18

social elements of golf radio. A great trip

1:19:20

to to Ban and with some friends of

1:19:23

ours. I play a lot with a lot

1:19:25

of new people here in Wisconsin and really

1:19:27

started get some of that enjoyment back of

1:19:29

of just played recreational you know kind of

1:19:32

no cameras golf ah which was great because

1:19:34

it turns out I really love golf. ah

1:19:36

so I made a i made a list.

1:19:39

Of list doesn't have negative connotation as many

1:19:42

lists could. Ah, but my, my goal is

1:19:44

to play at least one one one round

1:19:46

of golf. With everybody on that list, that

1:19:48

list will probably remain fairly undisclosed. I think

1:19:51

there's about twenty five to twenty eight people

1:19:53

on it right now. Ah, but I would

1:19:55

love to. You know, a lot of stuff

1:19:57

is just like man love playing golf with

1:20:00

that person. The and it's not going to

1:20:02

happen was one of us. Makes.

1:20:04

An effort to. To. Make it happen

1:20:06

without goals. Got. That list of

1:20:08

people in there will be. Begin.

1:20:11

Reaching out shortly to Assert does like

1:20:13

editing you know, a lot away for

1:20:15

employees list of suspects at a similar.

1:20:17

That's why the and I There's lotta.

1:20:19

Will. Let you drive Lima. lay off

1:20:22

with lives less linear running nigger. This

1:20:24

exactly. It's that. Yeah. So Liquid for

1:20:26

does any Kimmel better watch out. Non

1:20:29

Golf lists five of these. You've

1:20:32

heard of here before volunteering. Is.

1:20:34

A bigger I probably just seen is awesome at

1:20:36

this and that has been great since we moved

1:20:38

to Milwaukee. Getting involved of the bunch of stuff

1:20:40

and kind of i may be as easy as

1:20:43

possible for me. The literally just get in the

1:20:45

car and go with her to do it, which

1:20:47

I did probably at like six or seven times

1:20:49

this year maybe and fucking loved it every time.

1:20:52

It was awesome. So I'm I'm co sign a

1:20:54

now and you guys volunteer at least once per

1:20:56

month. I have on here

1:20:58

like know T V Knights No screens

1:21:00

nights? Really? a minute? I'm gonna sit

1:21:03

out once a week. I really enjoy.

1:21:06

Weather's. Listen to music weather's playing

1:21:08

cards whether it's wasn't a baseball on

1:21:10

the radio Randy for he has just

1:21:12

trying to it really adds some structure

1:21:14

around. like know screen nights at least

1:21:16

once a week. Raises. Another

1:21:18

one I'm I'm going oh yeah I know

1:21:21

was on your your goals but I'm sure

1:21:23

it will be part of your undisclosed goals.

1:21:25

I was sitting next to radio when we're

1:21:27

in Scotland's at Walker Cup and we're having

1:21:29

a coffee and a gallon of case of

1:21:31

his phone was like oh gods time to

1:21:33

do my friends lesson and he's been ah

1:21:36

dude French on duolingo and I watched him

1:21:38

do it out like this looks so fun

1:21:40

you know thought Dame Refiners Fucking alerts Turpin

1:21:42

add said there's can choose everly guess is

1:21:44

that this is awesome So I started like

1:21:46

the next day as I get. What you

1:21:48

know of An alert Fred said that maybe it

1:21:50

will read good you strap the we wanted to

1:21:53

be I fit the Advil, the award or Dynamo.

1:21:56

So I have. I just did it. I think I had one

1:21:58

hundred and eighteen days. in a row today.

1:22:00

Show a little bit. Wow.

1:22:03

That's all behind the paywall. So I'm going to keep that.

1:22:05

No, no, no, no. Yeah. Yeah.

1:22:09

No, if I can read it, if you put something up, I'll tell you exactly what it

1:22:11

says. So I'm going to keep that streak going. Do that every day. The

1:22:13

next two I'm worried about because

1:22:15

these are my, these

1:22:17

are, could be my formal Mondays,

1:22:20

my harmonicas. Let's go. Yeah.

1:22:23

These could be my, you know,

1:22:25

my albatross. Beat Neil's ass and tennis. Hang

1:22:27

around my neck. No, no, they're not nefarious.

1:22:29

They're not nefarious at all. Okay.

1:22:31

So I was at Justine's parents house for

1:22:34

Christmas on Christmas Eve and

1:22:36

someone's flipping through the channels and a

1:22:39

Bob Ross show was on like

1:22:42

Bob Ross, the oil painter. Yeah.

1:22:44

Yeah. Of course, everybody knows

1:22:46

him from like memes and GIFs and whatever, had

1:22:48

never actually watched one of his

1:22:50

shows of which there are like 400 episodes where he

1:22:53

just literally starts with a blank canvas

1:22:55

and 27 minutes later has like

1:22:57

a finished oil painting that he

1:22:59

explains how to do every brushstroke

1:23:01

of it the entire time. Watch so

1:23:03

many. I would activated

1:23:06

by it. I was like,

1:23:08

this is the coolest. Like this is like

1:23:10

proto YouTube. Like how

1:23:12

is everybody not like ripped through all of these episodes?

1:23:15

This is so cool. So I got home, went

1:23:17

to Blick art supplies, bought

1:23:20

a bunch of stuff, set up a studio in my

1:23:22

basement, have already knocked out two of them. And

1:23:25

I'm going to, I'm going to do one of those

1:23:27

a month. So that kind of dovetails with the no

1:23:29

TV nights, but yeah. Well,

1:23:31

why don't you turn it to W. Will you, will

1:23:34

you, George W stuff? Will you share these

1:23:36

paintings? Sure. Yeah, I'll share

1:23:38

it. But that's how I'll have to stay

1:23:40

accountable. So look for at least at

1:23:43

least one a month of those. And

1:23:46

then the other one, Neil, I honestly

1:23:48

forgot that you did this, but I've

1:23:51

on Thanksgiving, dad

1:23:54

asked, like, asked if I want to do a 5k. I

1:23:56

say no every year. And. So

1:23:58

this year I was like, ah. Like okay, I'll

1:24:00

do it and you know, just a very

1:24:03

small amount of running to get ready for

1:24:05

it. Loved it! Loved. It have always

1:24:07

hated him in the past and absolutely loved this

1:24:09

one. It was like I'd. We're. Going

1:24:11

to need to you know Echoes of Dunk Watch

1:24:13

echoes of like these big not a tangible don't

1:24:16

want was a success. All that have like a

1:24:18

lot of you know a lot of stuff you

1:24:20

need to do to latter up to them are

1:24:22

up. As I've got a half

1:24:25

marathon circled as well. Saw me to

1:24:27

try that. Ah, in September! Ah! Via.

1:24:30

Appia I'll be looking for summer as

1:24:32

you know t learnings and and insights

1:24:34

for me on your your training process

1:24:37

are. Happy.

1:24:39

To help. That limit. All.

1:24:41

right? Ah, next one up.

1:24:43

Let's see here. Figures.

1:24:47

Including are you let. Mister.

1:24:49

Sali number three move not last all right I

1:24:51

am going to be repeating some goals or cause

1:24:54

we can live but a goals from last year.

1:24:56

A couple new ones are in here and I'm

1:24:58

me I need some help with the final one

1:25:00

from you guys because I don't have a game

1:25:02

if I this when the i know you're the

1:25:04

one that has begun to the to the the

1:25:06

games case in on this one but first month.

1:25:09

I'm gonna hit this on the shrimp. Confidence: Play

1:25:11

at least eighty five rounds of golf. That's a

1:25:14

little less than twenty more than I played this

1:25:16

year. Ah, which is one it's debts. Two rounds

1:25:18

to s rounds every five weeks. Like I think

1:25:20

I can do this. I know I can do

1:25:23

this right. I gotta be better at. Just put

1:25:25

it on the calendar, gone and doing it and

1:25:27

and join it. I.

1:25:30

A effects at everything else in the rest of

1:25:32

my life. It affects my mood around the house

1:25:34

and more productive when I come home after round

1:25:36

of golf. A more productive when I sit down

1:25:38

at my desk I just ah a goes hand

1:25:40

in hand with with another one my goals which

1:25:42

is is like hey look back on this year.

1:25:45

Want you to say like did you do

1:25:47

love golf. Like. I don't know how to

1:25:49

check. Check the box on. oh no, not a game

1:25:51

of fi that one. But all that to say like

1:25:53

I mean if I play more golf I will have

1:25:55

a better when I'm sitting here at this on this

1:25:58

podcast. Next year I weather better a more favorable. Image

1:26:00

of the game of golf as a whole right less

1:26:02

time with pro golf and more time in tune with.

1:26:04

What I love about it is is what I need

1:26:06

and twenty twenty four and up put me down on

1:26:09

paper is something that I feel feel really good about

1:26:11

a it again and are not a measure that one

1:26:13

of the of the but eight. I'll. Give myself

1:26:15

a pass. Fail! Great analogy of the year. They

1:26:19

will also help. A lot of that is

1:26:21

if I returned to a plus handicap ah

1:26:23

down from our plus two goal of last

1:26:25

year we can be loaded more realistic with

1:26:27

the with the I had the responsibility that

1:26:29

home in in in line with that a

1:26:31

way to getting there are break part ten

1:26:33

times this year. I. Did not

1:26:35

come close to that. I just did maybe for the

1:26:38

first time and. Since I do that

1:26:40

for the first time in July my last round of

1:26:42

the year so I feel like we've we've turned a

1:26:44

corner little bit and were started suitable come out the

1:26:46

window. Got a great lesson that has me on the

1:26:48

right path and I want to get back to just

1:26:50

been and and apart under par shooter. I. Knew

1:26:52

that had time to ship. Made screwed

1:26:54

up. The seventies have been on them but I'm deaf

1:26:56

that. Reclaim. The top player

1:26:59

at and I'll you title. I have said this

1:27:01

right as soon as I got beat by Ben.

1:27:03

Add on the campus a word as ah, the

1:27:05

exact amount of days after the birth of his

1:27:07

first child. I'll be showing up on his doorstep

1:27:10

ready to play. I'm. In

1:27:12

a rematch. So ah, I will. I

1:27:14

will be taking that title back in

1:27:17

Twenty Twenty Four. And

1:27:19

that such as sick calendar by diseases.

1:27:22

Or whatever like April Di Di there's

1:27:24

of the will be. I intend to

1:27:27

help relieve. Arab upload your own damn home

1:27:29

course. I don't care, but I want that

1:27:31

title back. Ah, I want to wintour a

1:27:33

sauce. This year I feel I feel really

1:27:36

really good about where I met maintenance was

1:27:38

in relation to that. Ah and ah I

1:27:40

want to go back to back on be

1:27:42

the first a three and that and and

1:27:44

pillow separation in their top twenty at the

1:27:47

gas grill us down from top ten. Little

1:27:49

bit more realistic this year, but I know

1:27:51

if I play three full complete rounds of

1:27:53

golf ah I can do that. Ah and

1:27:56

of course go every year qualify. for the

1:27:58

u s met him that is sad about that be That'd

1:28:00

be the biggest golf accomplishment I could have in

1:28:02

this year. And this year I'm at least going to play

1:28:04

in a qualifier. That is almost certainly

1:28:06

going to happen. So non

1:28:09

golf goals only have a couple this

1:28:11

year. I've always hated your guys

1:28:13

books. Goal. Um, I just don't have

1:28:16

the time for, I just, I can't picture carbon to time

1:28:18

out. Like I can't, I can't picture that

1:28:20

in my life, but I am putting 12 books on

1:28:22

there with the caveat that audio books count. Um,

1:28:26

the Spotify, uh, having

1:28:28

budget books in Spotify now is super, super

1:28:30

helpful. I've started my first book of the

1:28:32

year. Uh, it is the fan

1:28:34

graphs book future value. Uh, I'm getting, getting,

1:28:36

getting deep in the weeds on baseball and

1:28:39

scouts for Sanalytics, all that stuff is

1:28:41

a really, I'm, I have no idea

1:28:43

if the book is good, it's off to a decent start, but

1:28:45

I'm, uh, you know, it's kind of helping feed my, uh, me

1:28:47

getting back into baseball a little bit, which goes to my next

1:28:49

goal. Travel to see the

1:28:52

reds play this year. Uh, I want to

1:28:54

see an in-person baseball game. It's been almost

1:28:57

a decade, probably since I've done that. Uh,

1:28:59

I got a couple options out there. Maybe

1:29:02

go up to New York, uh, see Neil's

1:29:04

Yankees, uh, uh, around or pushes Yankees around

1:29:06

July 4th may go up to

1:29:08

Milwaukee in August to see my guy, Deage. Randy,

1:29:10

I don't think the Colorado dates are going to

1:29:12

work out great. Looked into that as well, but,

1:29:14

uh, travel, travel at some point, uh, to go

1:29:16

see an in-person reds game this year. Fantastic.

1:29:19

Does traveling to Cincinnati count? Would you

1:29:21

want to go watch him in Cincinnati?

1:29:23

I totally would. I totally would. Uh,

1:29:26

uh, I, I keep, I keep, I

1:29:28

was in my head thinking like I wanted to check

1:29:30

off a new ballpark in the process, but, uh,

1:29:32

yeah, I would absolutely make a trip to Cincinnati if

1:29:35

you're interested in that. Come see him play Los Mets.

1:29:37

We could do a little Flushing Meadow pregame. Those

1:29:39

dates do not line up if I remember

1:29:42

right. I went through the schedule, but

1:29:44

we can, we can talk about that offline, Neil.

1:29:46

Um, I think it's also in April. I was like,

1:29:48

I'm not going to New York. Great. Um,

1:29:51

I don't know how to do

1:29:53

this. Uh, my life was, uh, obviously both of

1:29:56

my wife and I's lives were upended uh, this

1:29:58

past year in the best way, but. Having

1:30:00

a child and I don't know how

1:30:02

to measure this but like I want

1:30:04

to sit here a year from now

1:30:06

like I hit. Like I'm sitting here

1:30:08

today and feel feel very proud and

1:30:10

at my contributions at home right? Like

1:30:13

prioritizing my own life, prioritizing childcare prior

1:30:15

doesn't time with my wife part has

1:30:17

been present. it as definitely com at

1:30:19

the expense of for stepping away from

1:30:21

my normal work flow. Ah, but I

1:30:23

don't really regret any of that. It's

1:30:25

kind of some. I've always struggled a

1:30:27

picture how we're going to transition into.

1:30:30

Entered into dad life with a with a job.

1:30:32

it's like seven days a week and weird hours

1:30:34

and always on your phone and. Some.

1:30:36

Such good for by the wayside it already has,

1:30:38

but I feel pretty comfortable with how it is

1:30:40

balanced. I don't know what kind of goals set

1:30:42

in relation to that other than to say like

1:30:44

guy, look back at this year from now and

1:30:46

say like I was very present in my child's

1:30:49

life and ah the good. Enjoy the family moments

1:30:51

that a picture for a long time and I

1:30:53

can consider give myself thumbs up at this time

1:30:55

next year. Ah is is kind of how I've

1:30:57

written it, but I am open to suggestions on

1:30:59

how to out to quantify that. I

1:31:02

needed a digital picture frame. Fans

1:31:06

I tell everybody Do Yoga Ali

1:31:08

and a digital picture of room.

1:31:11

I feel that goal deeply because

1:31:14

it's it's. something like how do

1:31:16

you quantify. Like. I've I've

1:31:18

said like shown up for my wife as

1:31:20

we enter the. Final: Trimester

1:31:22

of pregnancy and like. I

1:31:25

think if this picks and specific activities like some

1:31:27

stuff that you don't eat currently don't do or

1:31:29

you feel like a guy us your my list

1:31:31

of like aren't any to do any to start

1:31:33

getting in a habit of doing these things because

1:31:35

it's gonna provide a lot of help if I

1:31:37

just do it. Even if I don't like doing

1:31:39

it I he to turn into a habit. yeah

1:31:43

like if i have a would ascend a diaper

1:31:46

goal for last year at a hit that in

1:31:48

like four right i mean there's there's a lot

1:31:50

us he portrays a lot of diapers right ah

1:31:52

is a that's kind of unknown unknown middling and

1:31:54

i will say my here and you know what

1:31:56

it might be a goal you have to the

1:31:59

hannah my need to be the arbiter

1:32:01

of that goal. That's what I was talking about my goals

1:32:03

with her. And I was like, and she's like, well, of

1:32:05

course I'm going to give you a passing grade. I was

1:32:07

like, well, if I do a good job, like let's talk

1:32:09

about this a year from now. So she is, I did

1:32:11

propose maybe it's a pass. Yes.

1:32:16

Maybe, maybe she does a pass fail based on

1:32:18

like a weekly or monthly basis. That's,

1:32:20

you know, so it's not quite as, uh, there's

1:32:22

not quite as much gravity to the, the one

1:32:24

or zero. So then you

1:32:27

have 52 opportunities to get a dub. It's

1:32:29

a lot of dub stack. I'll tell you this, you know, I, I

1:32:32

don't think I underestimated or under anticipated really anything

1:32:34

that was going to come with the time commitment

1:32:36

of being a parent other than the amount

1:32:38

of time you spend trying to

1:32:41

convince a sleepy person to go to sleep. It

1:32:43

is astonishing how much time of my

1:32:46

day is spent multiple times a day,

1:32:48

just like trying to get some, a person

1:32:50

that is crying tired to actually go to

1:32:53

sleep. So, uh, that's a

1:32:55

constant, constant challenge. That's 20, 24 goals. I

1:32:59

love it. I love it. Those are really good. All

1:33:02

right. The Carter brothers, only two left.

1:33:04

Who's it going to be? Let's see. Let's see.

1:33:06

Let's see. Oh,

1:33:09

Mr. Schuster, Mr. Neal Schuster, you

1:33:11

are next up. He's

1:33:19

interested in the baby. Come on. You

1:33:22

will. You are

1:33:24

fired up to share the goals with you. Uh, no, the

1:33:26

harmonica is not on there, but I did dig it out

1:33:29

of the kill house drawer. So we're, you know, maybe this

1:33:31

will be a little hobby, not a goal. Um, so

1:33:36

I, this is an interesting year for me because it's, it's,

1:33:38

it's not going to be the year of the kid, right?

1:33:41

We're, we're, we're bringing a human into the world. So we're

1:33:43

going to have to be kind to ourselves. We're going to

1:33:45

have to adjust our goals knowing that, you know,

1:33:47

it can't be a year of, uh, you

1:33:49

know, it can't be selfish. Let

1:33:51

me put it that way. It's kind of the year

1:33:53

of a kid. Yeah. Of all kids. The

1:33:57

year of reaping, um, truly. So. We'll

1:34:00

start with the golf stuff. And this is where I really need to

1:34:02

be kind of, I want to

1:34:04

be realistic about it. So I like Randy, indeed,

1:34:06

I didn't play a lot of golf

1:34:08

this year. I think I played 30, 30

1:34:11

rounds, which is not great. Um, some of that

1:34:13

is due to my, you know, living in

1:34:15

New York city. It makes, there's a lot of friction in

1:34:17

trying to play golf. So I

1:34:19

want my goals to be less geared towards like,

1:34:22

I want to be a zero handicap. Like that's

1:34:24

not going to happen, but I want to maintain

1:34:26

my current state in golf. So like

1:34:29

I want to set myself up for hopefully 2025 being a big

1:34:31

year of like golf

1:34:34

improvement, potentially. Uh, I do

1:34:36

true. One thing I stand by and truly believe is

1:34:38

I think my best golf is in front of me.

1:34:40

And there's not many things in life where you can say

1:34:43

that. Um, so I want to, I

1:34:45

want to make sure that I keep that true heading

1:34:47

into next year. So I don't think that's a goal.

1:34:49

It's more of just a mindset thing. That's well said.

1:34:51

So I want to play 40

1:34:53

rounds, at least 40 rounds this

1:34:55

year. I think that's doable. Um,

1:34:57

that can be NLU, non-NLEU, but there will have

1:34:59

to be, I'll have to make an effort to,

1:35:02

you know, get to 40 based on this year, and

1:35:04

I think I can do that. So I need to

1:35:06

prioritize just, just playing golf. That's it. Right? Like let's

1:35:08

just, all right. Well, for the course, that's a, that's

1:35:10

a win. Uh, I want two of

1:35:12

those rounds to be solo. So Randy,

1:35:14

you inspired me. Um, these

1:35:16

are kind of like little sub goals off of that main

1:35:18

goal, but you inspired me with your what's

1:35:21

burning at the kill house post. Like I didn't, I

1:35:23

haven't played golf alone in so long and I love

1:35:25

doing that. And even if I

1:35:27

go out and get paired up with random people, in

1:35:29

some ways, I feel like that's kind of playing alone.

1:35:31

Cause you can kind of just walk and keep to

1:35:34

yourself. But I think there's a, a

1:35:37

lot of the golf I played this year was other

1:35:39

people asking me to play and I need to make

1:35:41

the, there needs to be at least twice where I'm

1:35:43

like, you know what, I'm going to go play golf

1:35:45

on a weekday and whoever is there

1:35:47

and whoever I get paired up with, so be

1:35:49

it. Um, and

1:35:51

then I want two other rounds, obviously

1:35:53

other rounds to be. Just to interject.

1:35:55

I almost made that a goal for

1:35:57

myself to Neil to just

1:35:59

play. at least once by myself,

1:36:02

totally by myself. So I really liked

1:36:04

that goal. I did it

1:36:06

so much this year. I loved it.

1:36:08

Transformational stuff. It's awesome. You guys

1:36:10

can't encourage it enough. And

1:36:12

then I want two other rounds to be with my parents.

1:36:15

I wrote about it and what's burning at

1:36:17

the Killhouse article that we put out last

1:36:19

week. My mom and dad,

1:36:21

Tron and I's parents are getting super into the game.

1:36:23

I had a ton of fun playing with them. So

1:36:26

I want to make sure that I get out with

1:36:28

them twice as much as I did in

1:36:30

2023, which would be two times. And

1:36:33

then last but not least, I think it's a

1:36:35

realistic goal. I'd like to play five new courses

1:36:37

in the New York City, NY State area. DJ,

1:36:39

that's playing off of your goal. He's putting

1:36:41

up the pass. Well,

1:36:43

no. I mean, some of those, again, is-

1:36:45

We'd like to find five new ones. He's

1:36:47

played a lot of the invited courses. No,

1:36:50

I would like, and more of it's like, I want to go up

1:36:52

and see Innes, right? I haven't been up

1:36:54

there and that would be something that I could

1:36:56

do with Carson and- What's to go harpooning in

1:36:58

the Hamptons? I would love

1:37:00

to play Maidstone. I'll put the word

1:37:03

out. Put the word out. Hell

1:37:05

yeah. We're

1:37:07

open for business. We are open for backup. Okay. And

1:37:10

then let's, in those 40 plus

1:37:12

rounds, we're going a

1:37:14

hundred birdies. I'm going to track it as simple

1:37:16

as possible. And we're going five rounds with no

1:37:18

doubles, Randy. I think

1:37:20

that's a fair

1:37:23

goal. I've hit the hundred birdie mark, but

1:37:25

let's, that's easy to track. You can do

1:37:27

it in a phone, a notes app. So

1:37:30

let's just at least track those things. So

1:37:33

that's really, and then I do want to play in one

1:37:36

Met Golf Association event. We're going to keep

1:37:38

that goal running because I love the competitive

1:37:40

golf stuff. Oh, and one

1:37:42

other thing. I have qualified

1:37:44

for the NIT on my own merit every

1:37:47

year since it was, since it existed, and we're going

1:37:49

to keep that streak alive. So,

1:37:52

qualify on my own merit for the NIT again

1:37:55

in 2024, which would require me

1:37:57

to play in a couple of roost events

1:37:59

or, or- you know, win

1:38:01

our Midsummer Festival or whatever. So those

1:38:03

are the golf goals. Non-golf

1:38:06

goals. Starting with

1:38:09

physical stuff, as we've heard with my

1:38:12

over 200 pound Red Alert, I'm

1:38:14

going to run 500 miles

1:38:17

this year. That's a good goal. One

1:38:20

caveat to that, because I really want to make

1:38:22

sure that this doesn't backfire and I get hurt.

1:38:25

I'm going to include the elliptical in that 500

1:38:27

mile goal, because it would

1:38:30

help, honestly, cover a lot more ground running.

1:38:33

But especially like one way to not hit this goal

1:38:35

is like it's 31 degrees

1:38:37

outside. Like I would, I can go bang out

1:38:39

three miles on the elliptical, but I

1:38:41

don't know if I'm going to be able to

1:38:43

keep up the mileage here in the winter. And

1:38:45

I do want to make this attainable.

1:38:47

So 500 miles of running and

1:38:50

or the elliptical. Will you, will

1:38:53

you do a rendition

1:38:55

of the Proclaimer song? If you hit

1:38:57

that goal, what's

1:38:59

the Proclaimer song? 500 miles. I

1:39:02

will run 500 miles. I thought those are, I

1:39:04

will walk 5,000 miles or 500 miles. Oh, yeah,

1:39:08

of course I will. Come on. I'll, I'll

1:39:10

celebrate. I want to shout out

1:39:12

Jerry Bell, my guy Carlos. I got two, I had

1:39:14

two guys talk to me about this goal that have

1:39:17

accomplished it in years past and said it's

1:39:20

a fantastic like benchmark. And I

1:39:22

think just, I feel better when I'm

1:39:24

doing enough cardio. I think it kind

1:39:26

of leads to me working out more. And

1:39:28

I find it, you know, for better

1:39:30

or worse, running is just the simplest, like easiest

1:39:32

way to just like, just, just go for a

1:39:34

run, man. Like just at least do that. And

1:39:37

it usually leads to me doing more. So at

1:39:39

least we're going to start there. I'm better to

1:39:41

feel like shit. A lot of

1:39:43

stuff feeds off of that. And so I just want to, and

1:39:45

again, I want to keep these goals this year simple. We had,

1:39:47

I think we had 19 last year. I think

1:39:49

we're trying to kind of tighten, tighten

1:39:51

up the goals, be a little more realistic this

1:39:54

year. Currently we're at

1:39:56

seven miles of running and elliptical to start

1:39:58

the year off. Uh,

1:40:00

that feeds into my

1:40:02

next goal. We are doing a 10 strain

1:40:05

challenge in January. Uh,

1:40:07

so that's using the, the Whoop, which

1:40:09

has always been a really good tool.

1:40:12

Um, I have to get 10 strain every day.

1:40:14

And so like new year's day,

1:40:17

I took a big walk with the dog and

1:40:19

my wife that got me like, so some of that's

1:40:21

like the, you know, if you're walking, playing golf, like

1:40:23

you can get to 10 in some creative ways. Uh,

1:40:26

but there's certain days where it forces you like, man,

1:40:28

I'm at seven, you know,

1:40:30

like I need to go for like even

1:40:32

the most, the smallest run or do something

1:40:35

stupid in the basement gym, like just get over

1:40:37

10, even on an off day. Uh,

1:40:39

and I want to keep the goal is that

1:40:41

I will, I'm committing to this month and then

1:40:43

one other month in 2024, I'll do that 10

1:40:46

strain challenge again. It's a good way. If I

1:40:48

fallen out of shape for me to kick

1:40:50

myself back in gear, would accept

1:40:52

anyone that wants to partner on that. We can,

1:40:55

um, you know, we can backdate it. We can, you know, if

1:40:57

any of you guys would like to get involved in that, please

1:40:59

let me know. I want to do a 10 strain month for

1:41:01

sure. Okay. We will note that. And

1:41:03

then the, uh, the last physical

1:41:06

one is, uh, I want to play

1:41:08

tennis or paddle, uh,

1:41:10

12 times with my father-in-law. So probably

1:41:12

mainly tennis, but here in the winter, um, I

1:41:14

think I'm going to be spending a lot of

1:41:16

time with my in-laws and I love playing tennis

1:41:18

with him. So that's, that's both a, uh,

1:41:21

physical goal and kind of a, um,

1:41:24

bonding goal. And then the, the one

1:41:26

B on that one is I want to get, I

1:41:28

want to have a winning record. We gotta get dubs,

1:41:30

man. Gotta get dubs. We

1:41:32

gotta go like at least, you know,

1:41:34

what would it be like? What

1:41:38

would it seven and five maybe, you know, I

1:41:40

mean, we're usually pretty even on the, on the

1:41:42

tennis match-ups, but I want to, I want to

1:41:44

have a winning record in those match-ups, so we'll

1:41:46

report back on that. Um,

1:41:49

all right. This one's more

1:41:51

of a theme, but we have some, some trackable stuff off

1:41:53

of this. I'm declaring war on the snooze button. Uh,

1:41:57

I need to improve my mornings and so

1:41:59

I'm going to refuse to use. this news

1:42:01

button. And I have a, I

1:42:04

guess my goal is to wake up before

1:42:06

615, four out of five weekdays, like

1:42:09

every week, right? And I put it in my whoop app in

1:42:11

my journal, I've got like a little one of

1:42:14

it was like one of the random ones, but it's kind of a

1:42:16

yes or no answer. And I'm going to check yes, every time I

1:42:18

do that. I, I

1:42:20

just have fallen into a really bad habit the last

1:42:23

six months of like, waking up,

1:42:25

sleepwalking to the bathroom, like

1:42:29

scrolling, and then sitting down at my desk,

1:42:31

it like I normally get up pretty early,

1:42:33

but after I hit the snooze button four

1:42:35

times, then I sleepwalk to the bathroom, then

1:42:37

I just sit down at my desk and start working. And

1:42:39

it's just not good. So if I can get up at

1:42:41

615, and just get up, I

1:42:44

don't want to start work until 8am, I

1:42:46

would like to have some morning time,

1:42:48

especially before this kid comes, I think this is really

1:42:51

more of a like, short term goal.

1:42:54

But I hope like your goal, Sally, like

1:42:56

leads to early rising, I feel like

1:42:59

I am so much better in the mornings

1:43:01

if I can get out of bed. And

1:43:04

especially like today, I worked out this

1:43:06

morning, like, that's the ideal, but I don't want

1:43:08

to, you know, say I'm going to work out first

1:43:10

thing every morning, because that's just not feasible. But I think

1:43:13

it is feasible to say like, yo, I'm not going to

1:43:15

really sit down at my desk until 8am. So

1:43:18

sorry, I ran into a few goals in there. It's hard

1:43:21

to hard to track all the

1:43:23

little little roadmap stuff. I got

1:43:25

you. I appreciate that. So

1:43:27

I had the 12 books one on here. I'm

1:43:29

adjusting it though, because in talking, even

1:43:31

through this conversation, I think what I'm going to do this

1:43:34

year, I'm going to start 12 new book, I'm

1:43:36

going to start a book a month. So I'm going to

1:43:38

put a little bit of a clock on myself. Because I

1:43:40

think one of the issues is, I can

1:43:42

always go back to a book. But I

1:43:44

want to get started on more books to

1:43:46

allow myself to get hooked on more books,

1:43:48

because they're like certain parts of the year,

1:43:50

I was ripping through books like back in

1:43:52

the spring. And sometimes you just pick up one where

1:43:55

you kind of like it, but you're just dragging on a little

1:43:57

bit like I got to, you know, I

1:43:59

think that might help. me power

1:44:03

through or reject. Yeah.

1:44:05

And not like, even

1:44:07

if I don't want to pick short books, but

1:44:09

like, if I'm not really like, if

1:44:12

I'm not making enough progress, like we got to pull

1:44:14

the record. There's

1:44:16

just life's too short, we got to, we got to

1:44:18

read, you know, at least give yourself the opportunity to

1:44:20

like more books. Then I

1:44:23

have a category. See, this is always when I want to share

1:44:25

more with the world, we got to get back in the habit

1:44:27

of this, I'm going to leave that one off the list for

1:44:29

now. Just, you know, post my I

1:44:31

don't post anything. I don't know, I don't share. And

1:44:33

you know what, what happens with that? I think I

1:44:35

had a goal last year of like, I want to,

1:44:38

you know, call my friends more. And I

1:44:40

think social media on the on the

1:44:42

pro side can be a tool for like, hey,

1:44:44

I'm doing this. And then, you know, old friends

1:44:46

react to that. And it leads to like you

1:44:48

interacting with your friends in an organic way. And

1:44:51

I always look at it like, I don't want to post too much. Like, I

1:44:54

don't want to be a douchebag and share too much, blah, blah, blah.

1:44:56

So anyway, that's a side note. I

1:44:59

have kind of a wife category here. So

1:45:01

I need to be a better husband. So here's what we're going

1:45:03

to do. I have a

1:45:05

goal. And I want to be, want

1:45:08

to be fair on this one, I want to

1:45:10

work out with my wife once a week before,

1:45:12

specifically before the baby shows up in March. But

1:45:14

like, maybe there's a break. And

1:45:16

we get back into it later in the year, because

1:45:18

I know that it gets hard. Like, when I'm working

1:45:20

out, someone's got to watch the kid and vice versa.

1:45:24

But like this morning, we went down to the gym together, we're

1:45:26

not doing the same exercises, but it's just nice to

1:45:28

kind of coexist in the gym in

1:45:30

the morning. So over the next two,

1:45:32

three months, I want to prioritize that. Here's

1:45:35

a big one for you. I

1:45:37

am going to cook for my wife once a week.

1:45:40

Let's agree. Laughing in the room. She

1:45:43

Carson is listening to this, I'm declaring

1:45:45

my intention. She can hear me right

1:45:47

now. Look, DC, I might

1:45:50

need some help on this. I know this

1:45:52

is to my point to you earlier, Sally,

1:45:54

I realized like one thing, but we we

1:45:56

go out, we do door dash a lot, I

1:45:58

would like to change that. And I want

1:46:01

to get in the habit of that before this kid

1:46:03

shows up. I think I'm going to

1:46:05

have to go to the grocery and be kind of grocery guy.

1:46:07

And so grocery rules. Yeah,

1:46:10

I'm a little impatient. It's

1:46:13

intimidating, but like I think I could be

1:46:15

like weekly grocery man. And so

1:46:17

I should just map out a meal that

1:46:19

I'm going. Don't go every

1:46:22

week. Go like every three days and make it part

1:46:24

of your routine or your habit and then it

1:46:26

cuts down all the anxiety of like, oh my

1:46:29

god, if I like I've got to batch all

1:46:31

this stuff for a week, you just, you

1:46:33

know, go smaller, shorter trips

1:46:35

to the grocery where

1:46:37

you're, you're cooking for a meal or

1:46:39

you're buying for a meal or, or

1:46:42

a two day stretch. And

1:46:44

then we'll talk strategy off line, but the

1:46:47

goal, Randy, big, bold,

1:46:49

goal once a week, we're cooking and

1:46:51

I listen, we were doing the hello fresh stuff for a

1:46:53

while. I'm going to get back on that train. Like, I

1:46:55

don't care if it's like all the stuff laid out for

1:46:57

me, but I got to cook the meal. Once

1:47:00

a week, you know,

1:47:02

like he's like the anti Bill Parcells. Like

1:47:04

he doesn't need to cook the groceries. He

1:47:06

doesn't need the groceries. He just wants

1:47:08

to go. I want to, I

1:47:10

want to help out in the kitchen more is a,

1:47:12

I'm not, I'm not been a cook,

1:47:15

but I think it's something to where I could, I could lend

1:47:17

a hand and be better. I

1:47:19

would love to see the list of 52 meals. I've

1:47:22

got to be, I mean, it's really, there's be

1:47:24

able to prove. I'm guessing that

1:47:27

wasn't 52 new meals. Sure. That's

1:47:30

fine. I'm getting some repeats on there. You

1:47:33

know, I'm going to get into, I got to have a few

1:47:35

go-to. I love, no, of course. I

1:47:38

get better too. You know, getting

1:47:40

better at the same recipe, you know,

1:47:43

boom. All right. Well, I'm fired up for some

1:47:45

accountability on this one. I'll, I will check in

1:47:47

and then last two, I want to do four weekend

1:47:50

getaways to four separate places

1:47:54

with Carson and then with Carson and baby.

1:47:56

So like getting up like

1:47:58

TCU came up and stayed. up in the Hudson Valley

1:48:01

and you know get out go for a you

1:48:03

know for a weekend for a hike whatever I

1:48:05

think doing that quarterly or four

1:48:08

times this year is very doable that does not

1:48:10

count going out to my in-laws place in New

1:48:13

Jersey that would not count so these would be

1:48:15

four separate distinct getaways. Neil

1:48:18

I appreciate you saying Hudson Valley and not

1:48:20

Hudson River Valley a lot of

1:48:23

a lot of the uh eight when

1:48:25

they have it you know Hudsonites uh

1:48:27

came at me for that. If

1:48:30

you if you manage to execute on this one

1:48:32

you know I'd be curious how you're doing it

1:48:35

I want to circle back on that one. I

1:48:37

would hope that I could like on how to

1:48:40

do this like schedules grab everybody into

1:48:42

you know we got we got a vehicle let's

1:48:44

get them in the vehicle let's let's you know

1:48:46

I feel like let's

1:48:48

take the show on the road there's easier ways

1:48:50

to do it in the northeast down here solid

1:48:52

like I think with whether

1:48:55

it be trains or you know there's just

1:48:57

more weekend trips to be had. You need

1:48:59

a baby that can sleep in transportation too

1:49:01

that is that is uh well

1:49:04

maybe that's naive you don't know what you got yet

1:49:06

I don't have that right so you may have a

1:49:08

sleeper. Uh

1:49:11

last but not least Randy playing off of yours I

1:49:13

had this on my list as well four plays

1:49:17

comedy shows Carson

1:49:19

was saying like we should go to

1:49:21

a comedy show comedy shows or other

1:49:23

NYC type entertainment was on my list.

1:49:25

Take advantage of being in the city. That's

1:49:27

exactly right or the city takes advantage of UD

1:49:29

we cannot allow that to

1:49:31

happen okay we cannot allow the city to

1:49:34

get dubs on me I'm getting

1:49:36

dubs not the city okay um

1:49:38

I don't have the community service one on here I

1:49:40

want to be realistic that I want to be there

1:49:42

for big year ahead gotta

1:49:44

be there for the fam we're gonna put our

1:49:47

own oxygen mask on I'm just saying that I'm

1:49:49

not gonna volunteer if there's not an opportunity we

1:49:51

gotta put our oxygen mask on before helping us

1:49:53

that's my list. Wonderful

1:49:56

Neil robust as always

1:49:58

I love it. Last

1:50:02

but not least, Mr. TC, take us

1:50:04

home. Yeah. Uh,

1:50:07

there's no rhyme or reason to these. I'm

1:50:09

going to shotgun blast these.

1:50:11

It's it's, there's no

1:50:13

organization whatsoever here. So, uh,

1:50:16

this is the most important one of the

1:50:19

year. And, uh, it's, this

1:50:21

is, it has, it's a must W

1:50:24

it's a must dub. I

1:50:26

want to be there for the leaves

1:50:28

falling on the ginkgo trees. It

1:50:32

doesn't, it doesn't necessarily need to be

1:50:34

a DJ's place in Milwaukee. It just needs to

1:50:36

be somewhere on the day to fall

1:50:40

on a ginkgo tree. Okay. Got it. Like

1:50:42

that was so cool this year and it

1:50:44

blew my mind and I

1:50:46

just, I want like, you know, the drop of a

1:50:48

hat, I need to be ready. All right. We think

1:50:51

the leaves are going to fall in the country's in

1:50:53

this city. And, you know, so we're

1:50:55

going to map it all out. We're going to

1:50:57

strategize. It's just a fun of a go back.

1:51:03

The ginkgo bag. Um,

1:51:05

yeah. Uh, on that

1:51:07

same note, I have six states left

1:51:09

that I've never been to. Uh,

1:51:12

I'm just going to, I just need to cross one

1:51:14

off the list. I just want to feel like I'm

1:51:17

making progress. What are they momentum? Alaska,

1:51:20

Idaho, North Dakota,

1:51:22

South Dakota, Arkansas,

1:51:24

Louisiana. So

1:51:28

can we get new Orleans visit this year?

1:51:30

Possibly. We'll see. They too. Go

1:51:32

see the conditions. All right. I'm going

1:51:35

to sign up for a

1:51:37

mid-am qualifier. No,

1:51:39

that's not really. That was going to qualify. I

1:51:41

didn't say I was going to play. You

1:51:44

got to keep that handicap under, what is it? Two five

1:51:47

is it? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

1:51:51

Yeah. Maybe I sign up for a mid-am

1:51:53

qualifier in Alaska or South Dakota or, you

1:51:55

know, start killing three

1:51:57

balls of the one. Energy of. Exactly.

1:52:01

I'm gonna have four new

1:52:03

toothbrushes this year. I

1:52:06

think well this comes from our nest pod. Big

1:52:09

hygiene talk on the nest pod. Yeah, we talked

1:52:11

about it. So Solly, DJ, how often do you

1:52:13

guys change a toothbrush? I'm

1:52:16

a big amount. Not four times a year. I'm an electronic

1:52:18

bristle guy. I mean I probably change that every day. Well

1:52:20

how often do you change a brush? Like three months. God,

1:52:24

I don't know. I'm getting yellow. I

1:52:27

probably push it to like six

1:52:29

months I guess. That's

1:52:31

where I am. I probably shouldn't

1:52:33

you know, I'm sure. Just put a new

1:52:36

toothbrush in play. It's like new wedges. Yeah,

1:52:38

right? Never change the grip on your toothbrush

1:52:40

just for play. I haven't thought about that.

1:52:43

Yeah, so that you know that just means it's just a

1:52:46

little tiki-tackle, but it shows hey, you're

1:52:48

handling your shit TC. Yeah. You're

1:52:51

looking at the details. You should

1:52:53

use a new toothbrush every night. Every

1:52:56

day. That's like Tommy over the

1:52:58

third when he made Pro. He's like I'm gonna use

1:53:01

a new golf glove every round because I can. Like

1:53:04

that could be your toothbrush TC. Just

1:53:06

stockpile 365. God,

1:53:08

I can't wait to do that. I

1:53:10

do love a good glove. Tabs.

1:53:12

We got to get the tabs back under control.

1:53:15

It's an

1:53:18

atrocity right now. What does under control mean?

1:53:20

I don't know. We got to figure out what under

1:53:22

control means. I think we should. Could

1:53:25

we start? Could we create

1:53:27

tab day? Like

1:53:29

we could buy you a case of tab like

1:53:32

that awful soft drink and you could just like

1:53:34

nobody talked to TC. He's

1:53:36

doing his tabs. Like he's reading those

1:53:38

articles. That's a

1:53:40

great idea. Part of it is like I'm hoarding,

1:53:42

right? Because like you know some of

1:53:44

it's like these articles aren't clearing the threshold for

1:53:47

me to read right now or read tomorrow or

1:53:49

whatever. But I'm also not deleting them.

1:53:51

I'm definitely gonna read that. That's what he says.

1:53:53

You need to just put a day on the

1:53:55

schedule April. You know April

1:53:57

19th is tabs day and we're just.

1:54:00

Do not schedule anything else. I'm gonna

1:54:02

be sitting there clearing my tabs Read

1:54:05

you could do it at your waffle house. You're gonna

1:54:07

have 24 hours at a waffle house coming up You'll

1:54:10

be tapping people updated. That's that's gonna

1:54:12

be in Augusta. We think I've

1:54:15

been I've been granted a stay

1:54:17

by I find the committee here So

1:54:21

we'll follow back up on that. I want to go

1:54:24

to two refuge events. There's always a highlight. I went

1:54:26

to two last year To

1:54:28

your refuge local roost organized

1:54:30

events. Can I recommend those

1:54:33

enough? Just

1:54:35

you know, I feel like I go

1:54:37

to those I play better golf afterwards for a

1:54:39

while They just put me in a good mood.

1:54:41

It's like you always talk

1:54:43

about it Neil. It's like, you know, very Unimportant

1:54:48

competitive stuff right of just like,

1:54:50

you know harmless competition is always

1:54:52

heard so it's a

1:54:55

Great place to get dubs to yeah,

1:54:57

exactly related to that. I want to

1:54:59

play better golf on camera Yeah, so

1:55:01

I got played a lot of good

1:55:03

golf not on camera. I want

1:55:06

to play better golf on camera So whatever we need

1:55:08

to do to make that happen

1:55:10

a big part of that Need

1:55:12

to unlock my hips been working on

1:55:14

that lately But

1:55:16

you know, like it's a

1:55:19

it's a binary thing are my hips unlocked

1:55:21

at the end of 2024 Yes,

1:55:24

or no, can we get a dub on the what

1:55:26

if they become unlocked and then they lock back up?

1:55:28

That's what that that's a law. I think it's a love 59

1:55:31

p.m. December 31st It's

1:55:35

unlocked or not So I

1:55:37

like you do one of those invites on the calendar just

1:55:39

the ass DC on New Year's Eve. How are they? I

1:55:43

Mean I had a massage a couple weeks ago and she was

1:55:45

like you have like the tightest so

1:55:47

as and hip flexors I've ever seen

1:55:49

before and Like cool,

1:55:52

so, you know what like I'm gonna come back and see

1:55:54

you next month Give me some exercises to

1:55:56

loosen them up and I've been doing them and

1:55:58

holy shit. I'm like I'm playing My golf

1:56:01

game feels so much better. Yeah, I

1:56:03

just feel better as a human being

1:56:05

totally unrelated I need to

1:56:07

get better vendors better suppliers for my

1:56:09

ingredients better ingredients better

1:56:11

food better pizza Yeah,

1:56:14

mr. Tc. Yeah, yeah papa tc if I

1:56:16

was in the house uh

1:56:20

uh, you know, so I think Listen,

1:56:23

I signed up for the costco membership. Uh, I don't know

1:56:25

if it was last year or two years ago That's

1:56:27

been a big thing as far as getting Good.

1:56:30

They're the like goat meat department. It's

1:56:32

crazy You know, it's like butchers and stuff about

1:56:35

where should I get the best meat? They're gonna

1:56:37

say this good like Costco It's

1:56:39

sick and like you can get whatever cut you want. They're

1:56:41

awesome. Like I'll get custom stuff from over there That

1:56:44

said like there's some there's a place called Klein's

1:56:46

here. I don't go there enough Klein's butcher

1:56:49

shop over towards

1:56:51

San Marco area Um, you

1:56:54

know, I need to go get my duck there not you

1:56:56

know at Publix or at our Whole Foods,

1:56:59

you know There's a beachside seafood market. Dej.

1:57:01

I've been beating that place up local Mayport

1:57:03

shrimps first restaurant ever went to Jacksonville Yeah,

1:57:07

um, so yeah, just you know feeling like

1:57:09

this is this is a subjective, you

1:57:11

know subjective dub yes or no?

1:57:14

um Now you ever sorry

1:57:16

real quick you ever go to the the Beaver

1:57:18

Street farmers market Downtown

1:57:21

got it. Got it. Oh, that's the one on the

1:57:23

west kind of on the west side open three. Yeah, five

1:57:25

days a year Fresh. I got

1:57:28

it. That might be might be one for your for your

1:57:30

list Yeah, I kind of got to

1:57:32

batch that too because I've been going to some local farmers markets

1:57:34

But I really like pop up one right at the beach. So

1:57:38

Um, that said too, like I need to

1:57:40

you know, I need to I've got the lemon tree I

1:57:42

got the lime tree. I got the rosemary. I got that

1:57:44

stuff going we're growing peppers here I need

1:57:46

to add a few things to the list as far as You

1:57:49

know in the backyard.

1:57:51

So, uh, i'm gonna audit

1:57:53

the fatwa list I'm

1:57:56

just gonna i'm gonna see. Hey, are we current there?

1:57:58

Are we? We need to remove

1:58:00

anybody. Can we even get to reproachment where

1:58:02

we get back to good relations with some

1:58:04

of these people? This falls

1:58:07

under less beef. We're gonna keep the less

1:58:09

beef thing going. I

1:58:11

think there's still a place for

1:58:13

beef, but like Blocky. Blocky's

1:58:15

not prime beef. He's not

1:58:18

even choice beef. Like

1:58:20

we can't, like we gotta get off

1:58:22

the Blocky block or Steven Ruiz, like

1:58:25

a yes or no goal this year. I do

1:58:27

not need to interact with Steven Ruiz one time.

1:58:30

This year in 2024. So.

1:58:33

Would that, that would mean he would stay on

1:58:35

the Fatwa list, right? Correct.

1:58:37

Okay. Yes. Yeah. Some people stay on

1:58:39

the Fatwa list. Yeah. But

1:58:41

like, I don't need to be tweeting at him, you know? I

1:58:46

want to go on two outdoor trips. So,

1:58:53

you know, fishing,

1:58:56

hiking, snowboarding doesn't count. Cause

1:58:58

I feel like that's like a family vacation kind of

1:59:00

thing. Like I want to go on like two dedicated

1:59:02

outdoor trips where at least I'm going, you know,

1:59:04

could be back country kayaking in

1:59:07

Florida or you know, shit like that. Just like I

1:59:09

went fishing. I went on a fishing trip

1:59:11

the last two years and it's been awesome. I need

1:59:13

to get outside more, especially at night and

1:59:15

just look up at the stars. So

1:59:17

it's a very, very easy one to track. I

1:59:20

want to go to a live event. I'm

1:59:24

going to check that off the list and I want to root

1:59:26

for my cliques fan. As

1:59:29

a true fan. Which one are you going to go to? I

1:59:32

don't know. I don't know. You haven't decided yet. Yeah.

1:59:36

Yeah. There's some, there's

1:59:38

some, some, you know, question

1:59:42

marks there. So we'll see. We'll see what

1:59:44

happens on that front. Golf wise,

1:59:46

I want to, I want to feel like

1:59:49

I'm getting better at golf. I just want to keep

1:59:52

the momentum going. I feel like I made progress this

1:59:54

year for the first time in

1:59:56

several years. And I want to keep that momentum going.

1:59:58

So at this point, I'm going to have to, you know,

2:00:00

the hips are a part of that. I'm going to

2:00:03

have to try this T grind that I just put

2:00:05

in the bag. Massive part of that. I'm

2:00:07

going to try to get better at golf and

2:00:09

then that's going to manifest itself in competitive

2:00:12

golf. So, you know, whether that was a little too

2:00:14

broad for me, TC, we need to put a

2:00:16

number on that one. No, no. Cause I feel like

2:00:19

I've tried to do the numbers before

2:00:21

and it's just, I don't know that like it's,

2:00:23

it's like porn. You either know you either see

2:00:26

it or you don't. What are you going

2:00:28

to do to get better at golf? Like it's not going

2:00:30

to happen. The, the, well, the porn

2:00:32

analogy, you know, when you see it, shout out to Clarence

2:00:34

Thomas, but actually, you know, TC is better golf when you

2:00:36

see it. But I think that's the point is we're not,

2:00:38

we're not worried about knowing whether you're better or not. It's

2:00:40

just how, like, how are you going to get better? Oh,

2:00:44

are you going to read myself a little bit? Yeah.

2:00:48

But what are you going to sow? It's how am I going to,

2:00:50

what are you going to sow? You

2:00:54

know, I know the stuff I have to do. I got to get,

2:00:56

I got to get high. I

2:00:58

got to stretch more. Like I, you know, I

2:01:00

listen, I, I got it. Don't

2:01:03

worry about it. You know, I'm just,

2:01:05

I'm worried about the war and the

2:01:07

economy. You will know if I'm playing

2:01:09

better golf, you will know. Okay. It'll

2:01:11

be better golf on campus. That ties

2:01:13

into that. That handicap better

2:01:15

be coming down then TC. I

2:01:17

can't be hearing that you got all this great golf and

2:01:19

you're still over to handicap. I was, that's kind of where

2:01:21

I'm at. It's like, do you want to put a number

2:01:23

on the handicap? Like that's kind of the, yeah, I think

2:01:25

I, I think I need to stay under

2:01:27

two. What'd you shoot today? Like

2:01:31

77, 78, but you know, no

2:01:33

doubles, no, no bad holes. Just

2:01:35

throwing that in our face. Like seven 30

2:01:38

in the morning for real. I

2:01:41

mean, guys, I'm like, I'm not trying to rub it in. I need like

2:01:43

160 birdies. Nobody

2:01:48

makes more birdies. Play like 70 rounds. Nobody,

2:01:51

nobody gets more dubs or makes more birdies

2:01:53

than Mr. TC. That's

2:01:56

what tight is. Imagine what these hips get

2:01:58

in line. Let

2:02:01

me call me Shakira. All

2:02:05

right. I want

2:02:08

to play 20 rounds of golf at

2:02:10

my home course on a V's running club. I've

2:02:13

already played one. I've played. I

2:02:15

think I played six rounds of golf upon a V's are

2:02:17

in the last five weeks, which

2:02:20

is more than I played probably the

2:02:22

previous 12 months before that. So

2:02:26

getting there. And I think on that

2:02:28

front to need to explore our home

2:02:30

backyard. Solly, I think, you know, I don't

2:02:32

play enough golf in the

2:02:35

Florida. Can I put some on your calendar?

2:02:37

I was looking up while we were been

2:02:39

here, TC, the St. Johns County 36 hole

2:02:41

four ball St. Johns Golf Club, May 4th

2:02:44

and 5th. That could be a fun event

2:02:46

for us to go play in. We'll Cinco de

2:02:48

Mayo action. I love it. I love

2:02:50

it. Yeah. So we're, you

2:02:52

know, we'll explore our backyard, try to try

2:02:54

to make some content from it. But

2:02:56

first and foremost, we need to be exploring whether

2:02:59

or not it's with content. I need

2:03:01

to wake up earlier straight up

2:03:03

here. I go to bed. I'm really good at going to

2:03:05

bed early. I'm kind of a night

2:03:07

person. So it's kind of like I'm on and I'm

2:03:09

off at night. But I've tried to like

2:03:12

I'm not waking up late. I'm not. I

2:03:14

never sleep in. I just it's like, you

2:03:17

know, Alex is sending the kids off

2:03:19

to school and I'm just like straight up, you

2:03:21

know, scrolling on my

2:03:23

phone or snoozing or whatever.

2:03:25

I need to be up by like seven.

2:03:28

So that's going to be a

2:03:31

white, like a wife goal. Hey, Alex, did

2:03:33

I accomplish this or not? Yes

2:03:35

or no. I think that's

2:03:37

yeah, that's really it. I'm not.

2:03:40

And you know what? I'm going to go. I'm

2:03:42

going to go to New Orleans or

2:03:44

Vegas. I'm not going to both of them.

2:03:47

Optimize that goal. Yeah. Are

2:03:50

you sure you want to make that one an official one?

2:03:52

That feels like we're just are we? We

2:03:55

reach out on fire. Legally, do you understand what you're doing? I

2:04:01

think I think I can commit to it this year TC

2:04:03

that one sounded a little like this Put

2:04:07

that on there and then we can cross off

2:04:09

Louisiana, you know, I

2:04:11

like yeah, I had some other ideas of

2:04:13

you know Like

2:04:16

meat OJ Yeah,

2:04:19

of course in Louisiana Exactly,

2:04:23

but you know, I can't commit to that Play

2:04:27

less top 100 golf courses Which

2:04:30

would mean I'm more, you know

2:04:33

more, you know exploration and

2:04:35

stuff But

2:04:37

you know, I don't think I want to commit to that either. No

2:04:39

god, no You

2:04:43

know like last one was like

2:04:45

I was I was kind of I

2:04:47

think in the right spirit of it I was like, all

2:04:49

right I have to take a mileage run

2:04:52

trip at the end of the year because

2:04:54

that means I didn't log enough segments

2:04:57

to get to my status Like

2:04:59

kind of like what Darren Ravel had to do

2:05:01

a couple days ago But

2:05:04

I just don't want to commit to that either So

2:05:07

you don't do that. I'm not chasing that

2:05:10

no, well, no, I mean I'm gonna have

2:05:12

my status I'm just chase that was that

2:05:14

would that would mean that I took less

2:05:16

trips overall and was more conscientious Well

2:05:21

guys, I think I think that's a goals

2:05:23
