The Max is the spot

0:02

for that track drop. Ladies

0:30

and gentlemen, welcome back into the

0:32

booth. 2020

0:42

for addition. As

0:44

always, thank you to Mr. GZ Cody

0:47

back in the US of a how we

0:50

feeling feeling good, buddy. Happy

0:52

to be here. It's a new year. Same

0:54

show. We got bench for the

0:56

month of January, probably a self

0:58

benching on our part, just with all

1:00

this travel and everything going on. I don't know about you

1:04

trying to readjust, get reacclimated in here

1:06

to this life struggle bus city getting

1:08

back on a sleep schedule. But you

1:10

know, we're just going to keep grinding it out. Happy

1:12

to be home. Well,

1:15

then I need to issue a mea culpa and we'll get to the mea culpa segment. But

1:17

I have weirdly had zero issues

1:19

with the sleep stuff. Been sleeping in

1:22

a little bit longer, but I think

1:24

our stint in California helped

1:26

me reacclimate as far as time zones go. But

1:29

it was almost so bad and I was

1:32

just catching sleep wherever I could that jet

1:34

lag hasn't been too bad for me. Good for you.

1:37

It's absolutely crushing me. I

1:39

really had no issues in California, but as soon

1:41

as we got back here, I think

1:44

it's honestly trying to get back into the wake up,

1:46

get the kids ready for school. I feel like I'm always late. I

1:49

feel horrible because I'm home. I need to take

1:51

part in helping these girls get ready for school.

1:54

And I just can't seem to get myself out of

1:56

bed. But today was a lot better. So. I'm

2:00

gonna give myself till the end of the week before we

2:02

start taking pills or you know,

2:04

melatonin stuff like that Well,

2:07

I'm sorry to hear that and speaking of saris

2:10

Let's hit them right off the top with our

2:13

maya culpa segment presented by serve Pro The number

2:15

one brand and cleanup and restoration and

2:17

is known for making any mess Like

2:20

it never even happened with over 2,000

2:22

locations nationwide. They're faster to

2:25

any size disaster Speaking

2:28

of making things like it never

2:30

even happened today's maya culpa's Cody

2:33

what do you got? What would what do you need to? To

2:36

rectify. Well, I think the most pressing thing

2:38

that I can think of and You

2:41

know, I appreciate the setup here I don't

2:43

want to steal any of your thunder on

2:45

this but I had a pretty big mix-up

2:47

for people who caught our live shows Last

2:49

week on the range At

2:52

Pebble Beach golf links fantastic week. Thank

2:54

you for everybody for tuning in there

2:57

I think Solly was trying

2:59

to help me out on a last-second

3:01

image and realistically

3:05

Your beluga big board the graphic

3:07

that I thought was gonna kill turns out wasn't

3:10

even the right whale That's a

3:12

big hand up on on me. A lot

3:14

of people called it out. It's right up there I

3:17

think with the entourage reference a lot of people you

3:19

guys missed on Sunday night That was also

3:21

not good, but I think that's the most

3:24

pressing one that's fixed out so far We

3:27

need to apologize to whales everywhere. That was a humpback

3:29

whale. I believe belugas don't

3:31

breach Maybe a little known fact maybe maybe

3:33

some whale watchers know that but you

3:35

know I think any whale reference kind of gets

3:37

the point across for the Jacks Beach

3:39

beluga. Maybe I need to apologize

3:42

I'm still going by the Jacks Beach beluga. I live

3:44

up here in Brooklyn now. So maybe

3:46

it's the Brooklyn beluga Maybe the Gowanus grey whale.

3:48

Maybe we need a rebrand You

3:51

know and I may issue a maya culpa for

3:53

the belugas big board for my power rankings I

3:55

went from 80 to 1. I'm not Gonna apologize

3:57

for the pics. I made I'm gonna apologize for.

4:00

The fact that we didn't get to see him play

4:02

out over seventy two holes. Think. There's a

4:04

lot was gonna happen on Sunday. Ah,

4:06

that we didn't get to see. Any

4:09

know what? I'd like to see Sali and A D C try

4:11

to write the field eighty to one. Ah, You

4:13

know, I have a feeling that it would just

4:15

look like the data golf rankings are than actually

4:17

go to the limbs right? So Ill try to

4:19

try to make some plays, find some value deep

4:21

in the field. We're not out. We're not going

4:23

apologize that were in apologize if the people in

4:25

get to see the full body of work is

4:28

what is what we're going to issue a mere

4:30

call before. I. Agree with you

4:32

there new and one thing he brought to be

4:34

brother here I gotta give a quick shout out

4:36

and the second Mayocoba by Kurt so I'll I

4:38

planned ahead. I had. Australia.

4:41

Stop packed and then I had specific stuff

4:43

talked for or live show kit that I

4:46

pre sent out to Pebble Beach side enough

4:48

to take you with me everywhere I go

4:50

across all these flights and everything else. Well.

4:53

That works out great when were there. Now you

4:55

know when you're packing everything of pedlars I go.

4:58

Yet all that stuff they did that came in

5:00

that pelican put a back in that pelican. I

5:02

don't even need to fly at home. Here.

5:04

In a ship It back baby. Well.

5:07

Not. realizing at the time.

5:10

I don't have decision. That actually was because

5:12

oh my podcast of was in there. So

5:14

on Sunday night I'll do a live show

5:16

without any of my gear. Blacks

5:19

who did on Monday Money Live show without any

5:21

of the year and then today. Shoutout!

5:24

A t see eye to go get a

5:26

little many might. Just. Like a

5:28

little little silver rockabilly road last year just

5:31

to get through this show. so thanks. A

5:33

lot more brought common in but I'm not

5:35

return this as soon as we're done. Second

5:37

may call by hate to see it trying

5:39

to clean the stuff up Neil. Good.

5:42

Thing: the trap raw listeners are are

5:44

very familiar with audio issues. Ah thank

5:46

you. You're. Using that

5:49

mike on the right platform here. Are.

5:51

And a shoutout to serve prose well for sponsored

5:53

the Mayor Culpa segment. Fifty. Years

5:55

5:58

6:05

today. Cody.

6:09

Cody Buhlman-Love to hear from us. Tanner Iskra

6:11

What are we cooking today? Where are we going? Cody Buhlman-We

6:13

got a lot going on, you know, I know

6:15

we talked about a little bit of our travels,

6:18

but it feels like we've

6:20

been all over the globe, which we

6:22

truly have. I know you mentioned

6:25

the stop, I think in California, helping you

6:27

sleep schedule wise. But

6:29

everything else that what I want to know is as the

6:31

new year turns, we're not

6:33

going to talk golf, but how's your body

6:35

feeling so far? Because I know that one

6:37

of your goals start out this year from

6:39

an awesome goals podcast. So we kicked off the

6:42

trap draw with is that, you know, you're

6:44

part of your back in the strain game and

6:46

I will be there. I'll vouch

6:48

for you. You are knocking out 10 strange

6:50

10 pluses every single day on the road,

6:52

which is truly an impressive feat when you

6:54

think about it. Cody Buhlman-Yeah, I

6:57

think I averaged 13.3 in the month of

6:59

January. 31 straight days over

7:01

10 strain. We're fired up about hitting

7:03

that. We could check that one off.

7:05

That's an early dub in 2024. Mile

7:07

tracker, we're up to 46 miles on the,

7:12

you know, on the pavement, treadmill and

7:15

elliptical. So February's

7:17

been a little light so far. So need to

7:19

need to get my pace up a little bit.

7:22

I hit the elliptical yesterday. For

7:24

three and a half bodies feel pretty

7:26

good. You know, walking, walk

7:29

a ton around, right? 10 11 rounds of

7:31

walking, which is always just nice to be on your feet.

7:34

A bunch. I think the weight got the weight back down.

7:36

You know, I think we may have talked about I was,

7:39

you know, pushing over 200, which I hated.

7:41

So I think we're back in the low 190s, which

7:43

is great. Chris,

7:45

this was pretty good for you, man. Man,

7:48

I was so shocked when I saw

7:50

that scale and like first

7:52

week of January, I was like, what the hell, man,

7:54

this is not, this is not what we're about. We're

7:57

not about 200 plus. So yeah, I

8:00

was thinking about it, I want to,

8:02

I know the baby's

8:04

coming quick in March,

8:07

sometime in March, we don't know when. So

8:09

I'm trying to get into some good habits from a workout

8:11

standpoint because I know it's not going to get any easier.

8:14

So as much as I can make it a part of

8:16

my daily routine, that's my goal right

8:18

now. So overall, I'd say we're creating

8:20

good habits, we're being kind to ourselves.

8:24

My dad told me a long time ago, he

8:27

got out of shape probably when

8:29

I was in elementary school and I remember asking

8:31

him about it later on, like, what

8:33

happened? He's like, you know, he's got a bit

8:35

of a one track mind. And he's like, don't, he

8:38

was like, I'm not going to get a good workout in.

8:40

So I just like wouldn't work out. It's like, don't like

8:43

just do something. You know what I mean? Like

8:45

do the 50 pushups, go run a mile. Like

8:48

don't let the fact that you can't go for a five

8:50

mile run prevent you from doing anything.

8:52

And I think that

8:54

that's something that stuck with me. So it's like,

8:57

a little be kind a little bit is better

8:59

than nothing is is my, is my mindset right

9:01

now. Yeah, very good words

9:03

to live by. And

9:05

I think you know, you're motivating the rest of

9:07

the crew to definitely when we're on the road,

9:09

there's people who are jumping up trying to get

9:11

out there, get some exercise in big

9:13

with signing up for yoga classes on the

9:15

road, you name it, I think there's a

9:17

lot of things that might shock people as

9:20

the guys continue to get older,

9:22

but making not only physical but

9:24

mental health mental fitness a priority in

9:27

their life. Have to listen

9:29

to have a caught the nest pod.

9:31

I know you shared your goals on

9:33

the nest pod January nest pod with

9:35

Ben, KVV, Casey, Jordan, what

9:39

do we got cooking? Give me give me some highlights from

9:41

your goals list. Well, I don't want to

9:43

I mean, we also did the goals here

9:45

on our last booth podcast as well and that

9:47

went over the same ones that we discussed at

9:50

the end of the year. So it

9:52

was nice to get them out to all the nest

9:54

members and you know, I'm sticking sticking

9:56

to what the list was. There's

9:58

nothing crazy there. We're still going. with date

10:00

nights, making sure that Yari and I get quality

10:02

time in there. I have

10:05

a weight goal as well. We got to drop

10:07

some LPs. We got a competing goal.

10:09

Want to get back out there and beat up

10:11

all my veteran hitters because

10:14

no one likes taking down the

10:16

veterans or disabled like

10:18

I do. So I'm coming. Yeah,

10:21

I've officially put them on notice.

10:25

Outside of that, there's a couple things

10:27

that kind of shock first. It was

10:29

awesome to introduce Jordan to the world.

10:31

Here I am. She's been crushing it for us

10:33

for quite a while now and

10:35

it's awesome to actually get her out

10:38

there and she's going to be such an integral

10:40

part of not just the business stuff, but really

10:43

LPGA coverage, amateur golf coverage

10:46

as well as helping me big time in live shows.

10:48

So it was awesome to do that. But

10:50

I think the one that surprised me most was Ben

10:52

came out hot. He was this fire and heaters.

10:54

People are interested in Ben's takes, what Ben's goals

10:57

are for the year. You got to

10:59

sign up for the nest because

11:01

you got to get in the member podcast

11:03

because he was absolutely laying rounds down. I

11:05

love it. He came prepared.

11:08

He came sleep deprived. He

11:10

was like literally six days

11:12

from being home from the hospital with their

11:15

newborn and he was just chomping at the

11:17

bit getting ready to go. I

11:19

did catch a good highlight of him saying like,

11:22

just flaming us a little bit. Like those

11:24

aren't goals like TC wants to use better

11:26

ingredients. That's just a decision. Just use better

11:28

ingredients. That's not a goal. Like

11:30

he wants to sign up for the mid-am.

11:32

Like what are we doing? And I think

11:35

that's fair. That's accountability and I appreciate that

11:38

in the year 2024 of

11:40

reaping. That's the kind of stuff we're looking for.

11:43

Cody, question for you. Travel

11:45

related. We had

11:47

a flight 15 and

11:49

a half hours on the way to Australia, about

11:51

14 and a half, 15 on the way back.

11:54

What'd you do? I

11:56

did a lot of movies, a lot

11:58

of TV shows. I had

12:01

downloaded the Pacific on my iPad. I'd

12:03

watch, knocked out a couple episodes of

12:05

that. What was the movie? I

12:07

just whipped through the Pacific on Netflix. I love

12:09

it. Absolutely love it. I

12:11

was pretty fired up. Good sequel to Band of

12:14

Brothers. Pretty solid stuff. Robbie Malick making an appearance.

12:16

How about that? DJ told

12:18

me to watch the movie Babylon.

12:20

He's got a… I think

12:23

he's got a… Who's all in it? Outside?

12:26

Brad Pitt's in it. Brad Pitt himself. I

12:28

think… Is Margo Robbie in

12:30

it? I think he's in it too. I watched

12:32

it about two and a half hours. It's

12:35

a lot. Long movie. But

12:37

really cool. It talks about old Hollywood, how

12:39

they laid stuff out, how they're just kind

12:41

of like weird people out playing make believe

12:44

in the desert before it was all glitz and

12:46

glamour of Tinseltown. It was actually

12:48

fascinating. And then see the transition between like

12:51

silent films to talkies and

12:53

like the audio text just absolutely

12:55

like… Basically alphaing everybody.

12:57

It's one of the best scenes that I've

12:59

seen in the movie so far this

13:01

year. But we're only 30 days or so into it. So we'll see

13:04

where that goes. But I thoroughly enjoyed it.

13:06

Your brother set me up

13:09

for success but also failure at the

13:11

same time. Thank you to Mr. T.C.

13:13

Graciously upgraded me. Of course. Had

13:15

a lay flat going over.

13:17

And T.C. is like, all right. This

13:19

is what… This is how I beat being

13:22

sleep deprived. So we're not all jet leggy once we

13:24

get on the ground in Australia. You got to stay

13:26

up as late as you can. So

13:28

we get on Australian time. And we're

13:31

going to go to sleep. We'll get six, seven

13:33

hours of sleep in. And then when

13:35

we wake up, because we landed like 8, 8.30 in the morning,

13:37

we'll be good to go. And

13:40

we'll be on reaccl… or acclimated

13:43

to Sydney local time.

13:45

And we were not in the

13:47

air for an hour and 20 minutes. And

13:49

I stood up to go to the bathroom.

13:51

I looked over and your brother's like absolutely

13:53

zonked out. Snoring, mouth open,

13:56

eye mask on. He's got his

13:58

little United slippers still on his face. on his feet,

14:01

barely has his bed in sleigh flap

14:03

mode and he just like

14:05

slept for 12 hours and then woke up

14:07

and was just wired, walking

14:09

around pacing like what's everybody else

14:12

doing? I'm like yo dude, chill.

14:14

I'm trying to get my sleep in now. Well,

14:17

you know what, on the way over what throws

14:20

you off is the six hours for me from

14:22

JFK to LAX. Trying

14:24

not to sleep on that flight is

14:27

tough, kind of throws off the strategy. What

14:30

I realized is like man, you got to just get

14:34

it while you can. Like if you're tired, sleep for

14:36

two hours. Wake up, read, finish Den

14:38

of Thieves, so that was good. Watch

14:41

the Equalizer 3. I feel like I've run through

14:43

both Delta on the way over. I've kind of

14:45

run through all Delta's offerings. Denzel,

14:48

man, the Equalizer, still

14:50

doing it. Still, it's good stuff. Nice

14:53

action flick on a plane. There might not be anything better. But

14:55

I think I was able to get like three two-hour chunks

14:58

in. So it's like all right, we got

15:00

six, you know, and I kind of hit the ground running

15:02

in Sydney, which was good. On

15:05

the way home, I watched actually a

15:07

good one that I've skipped over a bunch, but

15:09

DJ told me to give it a try was

15:11

Blackberry. Like the history,

15:14

it's like a, it's a movie, but it's based I

15:16

think on a true story of the rise and fall

15:18

of Blackberry. It was sweet. So if anyone's got a

15:20

flight coming up, it's on, I don't know if it's

15:22

on Delta, it's on United, and I

15:25

thoroughly enjoyed that flick. And

15:28

then when the weather came in out

15:30

in Monterey, Wednesday night, so

15:32

after our second live show, I think the

15:34

squad, what, 20 days on the road,

15:37

I think we were all like, hey, why don't we

15:39

– we had gone to Benny Hahn

15:41

the night before. I think

15:43

everybody was ready. Why don't we all go and

15:45

do our own thing? I'd say like 20 days,

15:47

no fights, no issues. It was kind

15:49

of – nobody really said anything. It was just like,

15:51

hey, we're going to go to a movie. DJ

15:54

and I went to see American Fiction, which I

15:56

thought was awesome, and

15:58

I think it's up for some academy. awards. He needed to

16:01

go see it for the Oscars pod coming up on

16:03

this year's Raptural podcast later

16:05

this month. But I was

16:08

thoroughly entertained. Good kind

16:11

of a comedy, social commentary

16:14

would recommend people go see it. I thought it was

16:16

great. Premise is basically like black

16:19

author, writes these really

16:21

literary books, nobody reads them. And

16:25

so then he writes as

16:28

a joke, because he

16:30

thinks it's below him, he writes

16:32

a commentary on the

16:35

ghetto and basically

16:37

shoot him up gang banging, kind of

16:39

just makes it up, writes under a pen name and

16:42

it becomes a best seller. And he's like, he

16:45

kind of wrote it as a

16:47

joke or to prove what

16:49

a farce all the best selling stuff is and all the

16:51

awards and then all of a sudden this book that he

16:53

wrote as a joke becomes like a best seller and he's

16:55

like trying to deal with the lie along

16:58

with like his life falling apart. So anyway, it

17:01

was it has some good comedy to it like

17:03

dark kind of dark stuff you probably shouldn't laugh

17:05

at but I found pretty funny. So

17:08

that was a nice a nice night at the movies. I

17:10

hadn't been in the movies in a while Cody since I

17:12

went to see Oppenheimer. And

17:14

when I would see Oppenheimer alone, I got the

17:16

last seat in the theater like row one all

17:18

the way on the wall. And so

17:21

three hours my neck is you know, yeah, that

17:23

was a tough one to watch. So I watched

17:25

Oppenheimer again on my couch and enjoyed it the

17:27

second time a lot more. That's

17:30

kind of what I got. Neil,

17:32

I will say this because you dropped in there.

17:35

I don't think the time on the

17:37

road, you know, no, we're not a

17:40

fighting crew. Nobody's getting in fistfights here

17:42

but I think just like any normal

17:44

people who travel together, there

17:47

can be some tense situations at times

17:49

just because you spend so

17:51

much time together in tight

17:54

confined personal quarters. We try to do our

17:56

best to spread people out

17:58

at hotels. or Airbnbs,

18:01

obviously making sure everybody has their own sleeping

18:04

beds and stuff like that. But I

18:07

think that's where I just wanted to put that little

18:09

caveat on there. I don't think people would

18:11

expect us to be the fisticuffs crew, just

18:14

getting in verbal spats left and right, but

18:17

truly am impressed that there was no

18:19

flares at all throughout the entire time.

18:22

No, we've gotten a lot better at it. You just

18:24

kind of learn. I think a lot of experience, I

18:26

think, yeah, like making sure everybody gets a

18:29

bed, you kind of know what the hot buttons

18:31

can be triggers. Like I think

18:33

one that we still, getting

18:35

everybody fed, but everybody has

18:37

like different mindset on food. Right? We have some

18:39

people that really like to go out to dinner.

18:42

And some people that are like, I just want

18:44

like, you know, if you had soylent right

18:46

now, I would drink that. Right? Like

18:48

it is truly just a chore for me

18:50

to put sustenance in my body. So kind

18:53

of balancing that like when to have

18:55

the big dinner where we got the

18:58

camera and like we're telling stories versus

19:01

like, yo, I just want to get a pizza and

19:03

like eat this and go to sleep. I

19:06

think we're, we're getting better

19:08

at balancing those two things. But

19:11

no, I was actually like fired up

19:13

because everybody came to work. Everybody

19:16

woke up, no oversleeping. Like, you

19:18

know, we're, we're, we're

19:20

kind of a well oiled machine on the road. And

19:23

to go from like filming and

19:25

playing and being on camera

19:27

to being like commentating on

19:29

golf, like to flip that switch was

19:32

I also thought we did a pretty good job of, you

19:34

know, reacclimating back into like the

19:36

pro golf scene when we got

19:38

to California. So good

19:40

stuff. And then, you know, we, we, you brought your little

19:42

vloggy cam with us. So we're going to have a bunch

19:45

of behind the scenes stuff this year. Of

19:47

course, that'll be available to nest members. So

19:50

look out for that in the next couple months, but had

19:53

a ton of fun. If people are on the fence

19:55

about joining up for the nest, we got more content

19:58

coming for them. So go check out the video. I'm

20:00

checking out people. Yeah, just kind of smart

20:02

stuff that goes on just like in the Airbnb.

20:05

Like who's messy, who's

20:07

not, who's – God,

20:10

nobody moves in to a hotel

20:12

room like I do or

20:15

a freaking room, Airbnb. I mean I just got

20:17

– I'm pretty normally pretty

20:19

organized. I wouldn't say I'm – organized

20:23

is the wrong word, like tidy. Like when I'm

20:25

on the road, I just don't have a process.

20:27

I'm not keeping things folded in the

20:29

right spots. I got to work on that a little bit,

20:32

my strategy there. But as always,

20:34

the laundry bag is so clutch.

20:36

The laundry bag makes – it's

20:38

like that's like a one or a zero. Like are

20:40

the dirty stuff is all in one place. So I

20:43

know that. Do I have too much clean

20:45

stuff with me? For sure. But we're

20:47

packing for two, three different climates. That was,

20:49

you know, that was another factor in this.

20:53

But overall like awesome start to

20:55

the year and yeah, I mean

20:58

in years past like it's funny to think about the

21:00

evolution. Tor sauce used to be like the only thing

21:02

we did. And so like

21:05

from a video standpoint, now we have a lot of other

21:07

stuff cooking. So it's like – it

21:10

used to come back – like I – coming back from

21:12

Scandinavia, I remember being a little more stressful. Like

21:15

oh my God, we're way behind on X, Y,

21:17

and Z. But having KVD handle

21:19

the pod and just

21:22

I think we're getting better man, which is nice. I

21:25

think our prep and our planning

21:28

before this Tor sauce was the best yet.

21:30

So you know that gets me

21:32

fired up to see the efficiencies coming

21:35

through. Like a well-laid plan being

21:37

executed is awesome. For

21:39

sure. And I'll give you a bone

21:41

too. You're by far not the worst

21:43

of the exploding suitcase. You

21:46

keep things in control because some

21:48

of the other guys – I

21:50

don't understand how they let their stuff get so

21:52

out of control. And not just like – I

21:55

understand if that's where you suitcase and over time

21:57

as you pull things out, it just kind of

21:59

bubbles up and over. and spills out a

22:01

bit, but man, there's

22:03

people got shit in multiple

22:05

different rooms of houses trying to check out

22:07

of hotels and they got stuff in other

22:09

people's rooms. How did they get there? I

22:12

don't really get it, but – Well,

22:15

I would say a couple of

22:17

eye-opening things. One, Cody is a menace

22:19

with his folding. That's

22:22

a man that knows how to live out a suitcase right here. And

22:25

two, I didn't realize how

22:28

OCD were about your laundry. So – Well,

22:32

that was a – Cody refuses to let things

22:34

sit in the dryer. I thought –

22:37

we came home and I think

22:39

the stuff's been in the dryer for an hour and

22:41

you're like, God, I got to fold this stuff. You're

22:43

starving. You refuse to eat before you folded your clothes.

22:45

I was like, dang, man, that's dedication. I just leave

22:47

that stuff till the morning. No,

22:50

because when you wake up – when you wake up in the

22:52

morning, you go and what if there's something in there that you

22:54

want to wear and it's all wrinkled up? Then

22:56

what do you do? I don't know. Wrinkles

22:59

don't bother me. I don't really care about them. And

23:01

I would say most of the stuff I'm wearing these

23:03

days is like the wrinkle-proof. I'm like a performance fabric

23:06

man. Whether

23:08

it's the level wear t-shirts or the

23:11

roebuck stuff or the foot

23:13

joy, like tempo series, it's all

23:15

kind of not wrinkled-able

23:18

is where I'm at. It's

23:21

definitely part of my military

23:23

background coming through though because if you showed

23:25

up anywhere with any wrinkle, your ass is

23:27

– you're in trouble. It doesn't

23:30

really matter where you're at for sure. It's

23:33

just one of those things where if you're putting on

23:35

clean clothes, why wouldn't you

23:37

make the one extra step? Back

23:40

in the day, I remember we'd show up and – or

23:42

if I go to – if you go to some of

23:44

these fancy courses and stuff like that and you see a

23:46

guy there and he's just wearing

23:48

– I'm not talking about clubs that are like

23:50

– most places get away wearing polo shirts, logo

23:52

polos, everything else like that. But

23:54

if you have to wear a button down and

23:57

they have an ironed said

23:59

button down, I'm trying to save people some money here

24:01

and not not even say like dry cleaned but

24:04

I kind of Live

24:06

my life like that. So yeah, the the

24:08

no dryer thing is definitely a bug for me

24:11

and I'm okay because I know that food was

24:13

sitting there waiting for me and You

24:16

know, I was gonna get some slices either way. We're

24:18

gonna be fine But I don't know man with our

24:20

crew someone's gonna have to barf it all up. Well,

24:23

it's close It was very close. I know I

24:25

left you some I was thoughtful about that for

24:27

sure for sure, and I think

24:29

everybody is They

24:32

think through I think it's always

24:34

surprising the thought process that people

24:37

go through of like Automatically jumping up

24:39

for seconds before they realize that like

24:41

you know Not everybody like here and it's like

24:44

had food yet and I'm not just talking about me

24:46

like we had a Entire car

24:48

that wasn't even back yet. So

24:50

it's always funny to see how people work

24:52

through stuff like that, you know thinking through

24:54

like talking through Things

24:58

to help you get ready for the day

25:00

I'm so happy to be back home because

25:02

27:03

That's some avant-garde Add

27:05

coffee right there speaking of coffee. So I come

27:07

home from the trip Coffee

27:11

makers broken gotta get a new one. I

27:14

Kind of like should I try to fix this thing or I think

27:17

I'm just gonna get a new one I already don't really like

27:19

the coffee maker I've got and then my freakin

27:21

space here Smell like it

27:24

was gonna explode this morning my I'm a big

27:26

fan of the tornadoes, but this thing I've had

27:28

it for like Eight

27:30

years, so it's probably time to get a new one But

27:33

yes, I'll turn it on and it was smelling like

27:35

it was burning. So that's not good electrical

27:38

fire there. Yeah, I walk in and it's

27:40

like Got

27:43

this new stroller obviously the upper baby is

27:45

just sitting in the entryway Things are

27:48

fucking huge Cody like I first thing

27:50

I said like yo the strollers mass

27:52

of course Carson's like Don't

27:54

be negative. I'm like, I'm not I'm just kind of calling

27:56

it out. Like it's taking up like the entire entryway It's

27:58

like where the dog bed normally goes It's like, all

28:00

right, is it folded up or is it like ready?

28:02

Well, it wasn't at the time I walked in. I

28:04

mean, and I'm guessing, you

28:07

know, at some, you're going to use a stroller so much.

28:09

It's probably something you don't want to fold up. You know,

28:11

you're probably just going to wheel it in and leave it

28:14

there by the door. But I'm like, this

28:16

thing was like a, some, it's a mega

28:18

rig. Uh, and as,

28:20

and you know, just every day there's a new package

28:22

showing up of something related to the baby. I'm like,

28:24

I just don't know where it's all going to go.

28:27

Where does it all go, Cody? So I'm

28:29

going to start, uh, you

28:32

know, I'm going to start thinking about

28:34

my, my spatial awareness here, redoing

28:36

this, uh, this guest room, trying to fit things

28:39

in the corners. So we got some, we got

28:41

some work to do around the house. All

28:44

right. So the, the

28:46

other baby strollers are very good investments. So

28:49

congrats to whoever bought that. Cause I'm

28:51

sure it was a shower gift. Uh,

28:53

now that's my mom about it. It's okay. I said, she said,

28:55

what do you want for Christmas? Like nothing. I

28:58

would love you to love some help on a stroller.

29:00

And she's like, I got you. It's like, all right.

29:03

We had that exact same one. Now, if you

29:06

can imagine this and you're talking about how big

29:08

yours is, we had

29:10

an entire additional attachment that

29:12

went on the front end of that for

29:15

the second car seat. So

29:17

you basically like doubled the

29:19

length of that thing. So when you're

29:21

walking, when you're walking down the street

29:23

or anywhere else, it's literally, it's like,

29:25

you got a limo coming. Man,

29:27

you got two babies in there.

29:29

You got diver bags, all sorts

29:31

of storage. You got cup holder

29:33

attachments, umbrella attachments, rain covers, you

29:36

name it. Uh, we rocked

29:38

that thing till the twins were probably about, I

29:41

don't know, 14,

29:44

15 months till they were like beyond crawling and

29:46

starting to stand up. And then we

29:48

put them like in one of the smaller,

29:50

um, like little

29:52

side bike side strollers that we had. Made

29:54

life so much easier because we weren't packing

29:56

it up, folding it up all over

29:58

the place because we're not riding the subway. walking as

30:00

much as you guys are. Basically straight

30:02

from parking lot to car

30:04

and things like that. But that

30:07

brings me, Neil, to

30:09

our next topic. We are

30:11

in the final stretch here of Neil

30:14

preparing for dad life.

30:16

And of course, everybody knows here, we

30:18

don't know what the sex is. It doesn't matter.

30:20

They're being blessed with a beautiful baby. But

30:23

Neil, as you're preparing

30:26

for this new child to enter

30:29

you in the Mrs. World, what

30:31

have you started prepping? Are

30:34

things getting built? Are things being put

30:36

together? You talked about

30:38

some storage options where you at here,

30:41

as we got, you know, five, six

30:43

weeks here, we're kind of turning the

30:46

corner into the final stretch. Sure, sure.

30:48

No, this was, we're off

30:50

the road where house arrest begun, which

30:52

is, you know, almost

30:54

a comforting feeling of like, it

30:56

doesn't make me stress. I'm home trying

30:58

to catch up. But I'm like, there's no deadline right

31:01

now of like, oh, I'm leaving town next week.

31:03

So I got to get all this stuff done.

31:05

So I feel like I'm pacing myself well. Trying

31:08

to still use the guest room for guests, my parents are

31:10

going to come visit end of the month. So we still

31:12

want to have that bed. So that's making things a little

31:14

complicated. I'm starting to wonder like, maybe we just got to

31:16

get rid of the bed at some point. But you

31:19

know, I want to know not enough room for

31:21

crib and bed. There is there will be but

31:23

it's gonna be tight. You know what I mean?

31:25

So the room's not gonna be super functional. So

31:27

we're just gonna have to evaluate that here over

31:29

the next week. gonna

31:32

rearrange the room. So this

31:34

Friday afternoon and Saturday,

31:36

I have blocked off

31:38

for some some nesting

31:40

activities. Carson and I are touring

31:42

a daycare nearby.

31:45

We're getting ahead of that. You

31:47

know, it's like nanny versus daycare versus

31:49

nanny should I don't know. So we're

31:51

just gonna we're gonna do some research.

31:54

You know, collect all the Intel

31:56

we can as early as we can. And you

32:00

know, try to make the best decision

32:02

we can. But that's, you know, three, maybe

32:05

three months out, let's say, right? So we're not

32:07

like up against it, but I'm trying

32:09

to get ahead of that because I'm sure that's a stressful

32:11

decision. I got a baby class.

32:13

What am I doing next? Uh, I

32:15

basically said to Carson, once I'm home,

32:17

like you schedule me for whatever you

32:20

want, so next week we're doing a

32:22

lactation and newborn care class, Cody. So

32:24

I'm talking about Neil. I'm so happy to

32:27

hear that. Gonna get some, uh, some

32:29

best practices. You know, the kid is, the kid

32:31

is dead. We're, we are sending the elevator back

32:33

down to our own kid. Yeah. Um,

32:37

but you know what I've decided and

32:39

I'm going to make this promise to myself. I'm going to make it public. I

32:42

am, I am not going to complain

32:45

about money in relation to this kid. So

32:49

like, I don't want to be that guy.

32:51

Like kids cost money, especially in, in, you

32:53

know, I don't want to

32:55

wallow in the ripoff that is rearing a

32:57

child in, in modern society. Like

32:59

I look at some of this stuff that like comes through

33:01

the door and I'm like, do we need that? You know

33:04

what I'm saying? But like, I'm not gonna, I'm not going

33:06

to say anything and I'm not going to be stupid about

33:08

money and I, you know, like. Does

33:11

some of it stress me out for sure. But

33:13

like, I don't want to be the guy that's just constantly

33:15

like, Oh, it's so expensive. Yeah. I'm

33:17

just not going to fucking fall into that trap.

33:19

So that's something that I'm almost preparing myself mentally

33:22

for is like, this kid's going to

33:24

cost a lot of money. It's going to be a

33:26

lot of expenses. I didn't know existed. Didn't even didn't

33:28

even have the, the, you know, a

33:31

concept of this, like what this is going

33:33

to cost. Um, but

33:35

that's just, that's it. Right. And, and,

33:37

um, I think we'll probably overspend

33:40

on a bunch of shit we don't need for, for

33:42

number one, and then we'll, we'll adjust from there,

33:44

but kind of. Gonna just have to

33:46

build that into the budget. Um, but

33:49

I don't want the first thing to be just like,

33:51

Oh my God, it's so expensive. I don't want that

33:53

to just cloud everything with this kid. So that's, that's

33:55

like a personal thing for me that I'm trying to,

33:57

trying to like. instill

34:01

now and so I'm gonna speak

34:03

that into the world. I

34:06

love that. All right. So

34:08

you sign up for your

34:10

lactation and your newborn, bring

34:13

the little guy or girl

34:16

home. And you

34:18

know, when you're thinking about your

34:20

guest room, have you thought about

34:23

light, light direction, air flow, things

34:25

of that nature? Because I'm sure

34:27

you guys got a cutie plan

34:30

of where your crib's gonna go

34:32

and you know, you gotta think

34:34

of sleep, sleep cycles, where the

34:36

sun's coming in at, curtains, curtain

34:38

options, air flow, it can't be

34:41

too drafty but it also can't be too hot.

34:44

Have you thought through that stuff? No.

34:47

Okay. I haven't. Do

34:49

you have any recommendations for me?

34:52

Just a lot. You can go

34:54

like me. I just put tin foil in the windows. I was

34:56

like, oh yeah, we don't need a mirror. I've actually put curtains

34:58

in recently and I've got like, I

35:00

got blinds and curtains so it should be pretty

35:02

dark. I got served up an Instagram video recently

35:04

of like, I think they do it

35:07

in like Scandinavia where they like basically

35:09

put like a, you know, warm,

35:11

like, bed heater, heated blanket in the bed

35:14

but they open the window. So the room gets

35:16

really cold but the bed is really warm and

35:18

then like you close, then you like do the

35:20

bath thing and then this is probably more for

35:22

a toddler like a little kid. You

35:25

do the bath time, come in, the room's freezing so

35:27

the kid wants to get in bed and

35:29

then you shut the window and the key gets really cozy,

35:32

which I was like, damn, that seems like a

35:34

really dialed bedtime process. I like that.

35:36

So, you know, I'm open to tricks like that.

35:38

Some of it though is space dependent. I'm going

35:40

to put the freaking crib wherever it fits right

35:42

now and if we got to move it, we

35:44

got to move it. That's kind of where I'm

35:46

at. Well, I say the only

35:48

reason why I bring that up is because those are

35:50

key lessons learned for me. You

35:53

know, when you're trying to get a kid to

35:55

sleep and get a couple hours because, you know,

35:57

in the beginning it's two on, two off, three

35:59

off. 3 on 3 off, 4 on 4 off

36:01

before they actually get to spot where they're sleeping through

36:03

the night. I thought of light

36:05

and all that stuff. What I did not think

36:07

of was airflow and

36:10

of course, twins. We

36:12

had two cribs in one room. Naturally

36:14

I put them where I thought that they looked

36:16

best. You already wanted this big wall because we're

36:18

going to put some sort of mural and cutesy

36:20

little giraffes and shit up there without

36:23

realizing that directly below Zemi's

36:26

or directly above Zemi's

36:29

crib was the air register.

36:31

So every time the AC come on, it

36:33

just was blasting, straight blasting her with cold

36:35

air and I'm always like, why is Zemi

36:37

not sleeping as well as Lila

36:39

is? And we actually hired a

36:42

sleep consultant to come over and

36:44

she walked into the room and was like, oh

36:47

my goodness, like you guys got to move this.

36:50

I was like, I had

36:52

no clue. Like didn't even, didn't even think

36:54

of it, man. But the rest

36:56

of everything else, man, I think you're going to pick

36:58

up, you know, you're going to pick it up over

37:00

time. People have been bringing kids

37:02

into this world for thousands

37:04

and thousands of years. You're going to be

37:06

okay. But the little things that make life

37:08

easier do go a long

37:10

way. Happy to hear that you got your stroller

37:12

set up. Now did you get a base

37:14

for when you, I think you said

37:17

you want to make like four solo trips or

37:19

something like that or four trips out of the

37:21

city with the young and assumed.

37:23

Did you get a base for your car seat so you can

37:25

attach it in your car? I

37:28

have to check the inventory list. I don't know. But

37:30

I would put that one on the list. I would

37:32

say the stroller though, I mean, it's

37:35

a covered wagon. Like I'm like, yo, you can

37:37

take this to the grocery store. It's

37:40

definitely a useful rig

37:44

for carrying. You got to get your own, your

37:46

own diaper bag too. You can't

37:48

be sharing diaper bags because you never know

37:50

what's happening or, you know, person

37:53

drops the kiddo off

37:55

at daycare, but accidentally takes the bag with her to

37:57

work and you're going to pick up and then all

37:59

of a sudden you. You need something, you gotta have

38:01

multiple bags so you can do little split offs. Plus,

38:05

some really cool options out there that aren't

38:07

just the normal like purse looking things. I

38:09

love that. I will have, I promise

38:12

you I will have my own baby go bag. I like

38:14

that a lot. You're ahead of the game

38:16

man. Again, don't stress about it.

38:20

It's gonna be fine and you

38:22

know, it's crazy how your

38:24

life kind of gets turned upside down

38:27

and then a couple weeks go by and

38:29

you just realize that, oh, this is

38:31

normal. This is our new life. We gotta

38:33

flow. We figured it out and you just keep

38:35

on keeping on. And I

38:37

think I'm pretty good at – maybe

38:41

sometimes it's a bad thing but

38:43

the compartmentalization of life, I'm like,

38:46

I know it's coming. I'm

38:49

sure if you talk to me a month after, I'll be like,

38:51

I wasn't ready for it. But I'm kind of like, yeah,

38:53

I know that I'm gonna feel that way and I'm good

38:55

just leaving that over here so that I can knock out

38:57

a bunch of stuff ahead of time. And

39:00

I'm pretty good – I think

39:03

I'm pretty good at worrying about

39:05

things once which is – I'm

39:07

a big believer in that. I hate when people

39:12

worry or people close to me

39:14

worry about things that haven't happened yet that

39:16

could happen. It's like, yeah, you gotta

39:18

be prepared for the worst but you don't

39:20

want to dwell on it. You want to just

39:23

be like, all right, well, if that does happen, we'll take care of it. But

39:25

until then, we should probably just not

39:27

just think about it all the time or put

39:30

our energy into preparing

39:32

for it. And then you just

39:34

set it aside. It's like, all right, we're ready. In case that's something we

39:36

need to worry about, we'll worry about it. So that's kind of where I'm

39:38

at right now. Good. Are

39:41

you stressed about it? No.

39:45

I don't think I'm – I'm honestly feeling

39:47

pretty solid because I've got

39:49

a month and a half. I

39:52

feel like I've got some time right now. And

39:54

I think I'm putting it to good use. So we have

39:57

some data. We've got a partner. I'm

40:00

trying to be… You're taking care of more. Yeah,

40:02

a lot of massages going on,

40:04

trying to… the back's hurting.

40:07

So trying to be… but

40:10

I'm like, attitude is everything. So again,

40:12

like back hurts. Maybe

40:14

it makes me sound insensitive. And I know Carson's not going to

40:16

listen to this but it's like, yo, I'm

40:19

here to massage you but we can't dwell on the back. We got

40:21

to fucking… we got to accept that the back hurts. You know what

40:23

I'm saying? I try not to say

40:25

that out loud but in my head I'm like, let's

40:28

do what we can to address the back aches but… I

40:31

can't remember where we were walking out

40:33

but you were talking about parenting and

40:36

stuff like that. You basically just started…

40:38

you went into coach… coach shuster mode.

40:41

And you are going to be the

40:43

parent and the dad that just is

40:45

riling off motivational saying…

40:47

Attitude is everything. I know. I know. 100%. 100%. That's the only way

40:49

I know how to do it. It's

40:55

awesome. All right. Well,

40:58

very good. You're going to be awesome at

41:00

it. And hopefully we get the

41:02

booth in next month before you go on

41:04

leave. And we'll do a final

41:06

check in to see how that lactation class

41:09

worked out for you because it's a fascinating

41:11

thing. I'm actually kind of interested to

41:13

hear what your take on the whole thing is going to

41:15

be. Anyway, Nextdoor.

41:17

We introduced this segment last fall. I

41:20

think Nextdoor is a fantastic app. Of

41:22

course, that's where I introduced to my

41:24

neighbor Larry. I haven't checked

41:26

in with Larry since we've been back but everything

41:29

seems to be going okay with him.

41:31

His meds has kind of stabilized him

41:33

a little bit. At least

41:35

from what I've seen of his posting.

41:37

I have no whole updates but I

41:41

don't know. Maybe this week we'll go check it out.

41:44

Neil, have you found

41:47

anything interesting in your perusing him

41:49

Nextdoor? I have. I got a

41:51

couple things for you. First off, I do want to say

41:53

I don't think Nextdoor is a fantastic app. I think it's

41:55

a disgrace how many emails that they opted me in for

41:57

just for signing up. Well, you can opt out of that

41:59

for sure. I know but the auto

42:02

opt-in on like three, you

42:04

know, digest emails a day, like

42:07

concentric summary emails

42:09

of like Brooklyn, New York, it was

42:11

just like, what are we doing guys?

42:13

Like my personal email inbox was just

42:16

like, it's bad, you know? And

42:18

I think, you know, there's just a lot of like,

42:21

there's a lot of trash on this app. I

42:24

almost look at it as like, I don't

42:26

know, a little bit of a niche thing.

42:29

I get a kick out of it, but I

42:31

don't find it all that useful. Well,

42:33

that's why I was going to go with mine.

42:35

I think at the beginning maybe I was just

42:38

being served up bangers and lately, of

42:40

course, I think it's reflective very much

42:43

of where you live. I got a lot of

42:45

border wall talk going on. I got a lot

42:47

of rally talk going on. We

42:49

had a cold weather, a little spell

42:51

come through. There's a lot

42:53

of missing runaway dog stuff going on. A

42:56

lot of pets. A

42:58

lot of pets. It's

43:00

not good. But if you

43:02

need a plumber, HVAC

43:05

guy or anything else, you can basically go

43:07

find him here because they're just – I

43:09

feel like they're just lurking next door for

43:11

people trying to look for recommendations. Which

43:14

I guess maybe they're taking over for Craigslist on that. I haven't

43:16

been on Craigslist in a long time. I used to use Craigslist

43:18

all the time in San Francisco,

43:20

but haven't used it in a while. Facebook

43:23

Marketplace, it feels like the market

43:25

has been dispersed

43:27

along a bunch of different platforms

43:29

for different use cases. But what

43:32

do we have cooking this week? It sounds

43:34

like Biden's in town. People are freaking out

43:36

about potential traffic issues in New York City.

43:40

Don't drive into the city. It's going to

43:42

be apocalyptic. Didn't know that, but again,

43:44

I guess you can't trust everything

43:46

you read on next door. What else? We got

43:49

Yona in Park Slope

43:51

is feeding cats, and so

43:53

she's looking for free cat food. If

43:55

anybody can send her free cat food, she's willing to

43:57

– in kind of a two-mile radius.

44:00

I don't know if she should be feeding the neighbor's cats,

44:02

but she had a video of some cats eating on

44:05

her back patio. I don't know

44:07

if her neighbors are happy about that, but she's just taking

44:09

it upon herself to feed the four

44:11

or five cats that have been stopping by her

44:13

place. And then I

44:15

had actually a very useful one from David.

44:19

Let me dig this one up. So

44:22

David, hot tip. Do

44:24

you find your bathroom mirrors fogged up when you step

44:26

out of the shower? Solution.

44:29

Buy a small bar of Neutrogena facial

44:31

soap and wipe it on a face

44:33

cloth. Then wipe it

44:36

on your mirror like magic. It

44:38

will keep your mirror free from fogging up for

44:41

up to a week. So I

44:43

do have an issue with my mirror fogging up. I

44:46

test that out. Interesting.

44:49

You got to let us know the results of that. I got one.

44:53

Well, his name is Roy. Of

44:55

course, leave out his last name. Go

44:57

in college, in college Heights says,

45:01

okay, this is kind of

45:04

funny. My deer feeder ran out

45:06

of corn. I went to tractor supply.

45:08

Tractor supply no longer provides veterans discount.

45:10

Does anybody have recommendations on where I

45:12

can get deer corn? Now

45:14

there's a lot going on here. Number one, it's

45:17

no longer deer hunting season. I don't know why

45:19

he's trying to bait a deer back into his

45:21

property, but again, you own the property. You

45:23

can do whatever you're, whatever you want

45:25

to do. I guess Roy. Second point

45:28

here, tough on tractor supply. I've actually

45:30

been overwhelmed with messages about tractor supply,

45:32

removing the veteran's discount. We don't

45:34

like that. If anybody from tractor supply is listening, you got

45:36

to put, I mean, what is it? 10,

45:39

50%. Roy, I take

45:42

this personal. Roy's taken this very personal.

45:45

And of course, if anybody has recommendations on where

45:47

he can get deer corn out

45:49

of season, because he's still trying to do

45:51

a little bait and switch at

45:54

low cost, let Roy know. You

45:56

can find him in college heights. The second

45:58

one. I check next. store when

46:00

we flew back from Australia, but we're

46:02

in California. And of

46:05

course, a default to where I'm

46:07

registered at my neighborhood was, but

46:09

for a little bit, I was getting

46:11

a lot of California, you know, weird

46:13

secondary messages and shit like that. So

46:16

I was scrolling through and looking at

46:18

it. I did not realize that California

46:21

has a plan to reintroduce the California

46:23

grizzly bear to the state. Now

46:26

I did a little deep diving on this. Their

46:29

California grizzly bears, their natural

46:31

habitat was California. They

46:33

lived there for basically when,

46:35

you know, Spanish settlers

46:38

or Spanish explorers came up and

46:40

originally explored California and then went

46:42

back down to Mexico and then

46:45

people moving from East to West across

46:47

the United States. They basically were killing

46:49

these, uh, California grizzlies

46:52

by the thousands every single, uh, year

46:55

until the last California grizzly

46:57

was actually killed in

46:59

1916 or has not been one

47:02

wild in the state of California. Now,

47:05

obviously the California flag has a very

47:07

proud, uh, California grizzly on

47:09

it. The Cal logo is

47:12

a Bruin. It's the logo is the

47:14

California grizzly bear. Um, but

47:17

they, they plan they're, they're trying to

47:19

explore options now of reintroducing

47:22

it back into what is perceived to

47:24

be its natural habitat. Uh,

47:26

they're going to move them from Idaho and Montana,

47:28

uh, back into California.

47:30

The issue is, is that, uh,

47:33

since the California grizzly was

47:35

last in California where these

47:37

natural habitats are, there's, uh,

47:39

I don't know about like millions and millions

47:41

and millions of people and animals and everything

47:44

else that have come in and, you

47:46

know, Establish new towns and, and

47:48

stores and there's livestock and everything

47:51

else like that. And

47:53

the outrage that I saw on

47:55

next door, it kind of blew

47:58

my mind because there. so many people that

48:00

were for it, which I

48:03

did not expect to

48:05

see. I thought people would be very much like, hey,

48:07

wait a second, maybe introducing grizzly

48:09

bears back into a habitat that they're

48:11

no longer native to. They have no

48:13

clue. It is probably

48:15

not a good thing because they're going to

48:17

get into our house. They're going to be

48:20

scrounging for food. They're going to start attacking

48:23

livestock, or pets, any

48:25

animals possible before they

48:27

find a place to den up again for wintertime. So

48:30

a lot going on. That was my

48:32

little foray into California next door though.

48:36

Well, that's interesting. I

48:38

would have assumed like you that it would

48:40

be a heavy nimby attitude. For

48:42

sure. No, it sounds great, but

48:45

not here. So that's

48:47

interesting. Another reason for me to

48:49

shout out one of the best books I read the

48:51

last couple years was The American Wolf. I think that's

48:53

the title of it, but it was basically about the

48:55

reintroduction of wolves in Yellowstone. I

48:57

think there's some good lessons there in what happens when

48:59

you, some good stuff

49:02

happens and some, it's tough,

49:04

especially on the ranchers and

49:06

farmers and wolves don't really

49:08

pay attention to like national park boundaries. They

49:11

kind of just go down. They go

49:13

where they're for the weird dog. Yeah.

49:17

So that's interesting. I might have to look that

49:19

up, but I don't know, up

49:21

in the north part of the state, there's a ton of, there's

49:24

a lot of forest still. Maybe they maybe

49:27

certain platforms. Yeah. And yeah,

49:29

lost coast, man. It's still wild up there.

49:32

It's for sure. All right.

49:34

Big weekend. That's a weekend. You know, Superbowl is

49:36

coming up. Of course, this is not the ball

49:38

knower's pod, but a tradition. I

49:40

used to run this. It felt

49:43

like I was deployed almost every single Superbowl for a

49:45

long, long time. My favorite thing that we used to

49:47

do in the team room was go over the

49:49

yearly prop bets. I

49:51

love that they published these prop back sheets. You

49:54

can find them all over the internet. The

49:57

sheet that I found is from

49:59

Sportsbook. review because we don't have

50:01

an actual sports book that we're affiliated

50:03

to anymore. So we can say whatever

50:05

we want about from any site. Prop

50:09

bets. You got any history with these? Yeah,

50:12

man. I always bet on the national anthem and

50:14

I was listening to the length. Yeah,

50:16

the length Simmons and cousin Sal

50:20

during my workout yesterday. I

50:22

think the number, it might've changed now, but the

50:24

over-under was like a minute 36, which

50:27

is so much lower. I think it's

50:29

Reba McIntyre doing the national anthem. So

50:32

that feels wildly low and they were

50:34

saying that like only one or two

50:37

have been below that in the last like 20

50:39

years. So maybe, I

50:41

don't know, like do you have any, do you think Reba is

50:44

going to be singing fast? Like that feels like an over to

50:46

me. I think it's

50:48

an over to. So what do you want to

50:50

put the line at officially? The line was 136

50:52

as of Monday. So

50:56

it may have changed. I'm

50:59

going to go over here. I

51:01

feel like it's going to be true, but

51:04

I got to go over. Both in

51:06

136. We both got the overs.

51:08

All right. Results of the coin

51:10

flip. Neil, you say, well, it

51:13

sounds like it's been tails for a while.

51:15

I'm going to go ahead and I know

51:18

past, you know, past

51:20

odds don't matter. Everything happens in a vacuum with

51:22

odds, but I'm going to go heads. Just

51:25

to make this exciting. I'll go tails. Results

51:28

of the opening drive here.

51:31

So we're going to go touchdown field

51:34

goal, punt other. What do you

51:36

think? I'm going to punt. Especially

51:38

I think especially, well, I don't know. That's

51:40

a tough one because both coaches do really

51:42

well with scripting. So, you

51:45

know, of course, TC will let you know

51:47

that Kyle's, you know, opening game scripts are

51:49

fantastic. Andy Reed, you know,

51:51

I think if the cheese get the ball first, punt

51:54

is probably

51:56

not the right call, but we'll stick

51:58

with it. I originally was. going with

52:00

touchdown and actually going to change mine field goal.

52:03

All right. What will be the

52:05

first turnover of the game?

52:08

Fumble, interception, turnover

52:10

on downs for now, you name it. Uh,

52:13

I think it will be a fumble. I think it's

52:16

more likely that a

52:18

receiver fumbles a strip

52:20

sack or a running back

52:23

fumbles, I think the odds would

52:25

be in favor of that versus an interception. All

52:27

right. I'm going to join you there.

52:30

Which team will reach 10 points first?

52:33

I think the chiefs reached 10 points first. All

52:36

right. I'm going to be right there with

52:38

you with the chiefs. Which

52:41

quarterback will throw the first passing

52:43

touchdown? Just to double down on my last

52:45

answer. I'm going to say my homes. I

52:47

feel like Purdy might get a slow start.

52:50

It's got to be, I mean, the

52:52

pregame stuff, big

52:55

long week. I'm

52:57

not, I don't think Purdy's gonna play bad. I

52:59

just don't see him coming out like gunslinging. Whereas

53:01

I feel like my homes is definitely going to be

53:04

more comfortable in this environment. So

53:06

I, I feel like the, uh,

53:08

the chiefs get off to a hotter start.

53:11

For sure. But I think McCaffrey's going to have

53:13

a huge game. So you got that. Uh,

53:16

halftime performance is not by Taylor

53:18

Swift. Okay. She's not performing at

53:20

halftime. I understand she's taken all

53:22

the headlines though. It's actually, uh,

53:24

usher your boy. He's from my hometown. What

53:28

did double. Yeah. Yes.

53:32

Lived, uh, lived off jet ferry just down the

53:34

street from, uh, from Toronto and I growing

53:36

up. That's a

53:39

truly incredible. So the over, under on a number

53:41

of songs that he will perform, of course he's

53:43

ordered his full songs, but he's going to get

53:45

through the line is eight and a half. So

53:47

you're going to go over eight and a half

53:50

or under eight and a half. Or

53:52

maybe he just plays, uh, the remix to

53:54

ignition, like just on a loop and he

53:56

just keeps going. Well, no, that was our

53:58

Kelly. You're right.

54:01

So wait a second. So I hope R. Kelly's making

54:03

an appearance. Usher also had

54:05

a remix, though. Let

54:08

it burn. See,

54:10

the problem with Usher – he has bangers

54:12

that he's produced and he's taken

54:14

part in, but personal

54:17

bangers, not quite as many.

54:19

So I anticipate

54:23

there being a lot of appearances from

54:27

friends of his. 8.5,

54:30

though, feels like a lot for him. I'm going to go under. Okay,

54:33

and of course, I apologize to Usher's family

54:35

for referring him. R. Kelly, it's a big

54:37

– that'll be my main call, but for

54:39

next time we come around on that. Will

54:42

Ludacris make an appearance? Another

54:44

neighbor? I

54:46

think Ludacris makes an appearance. I also think Bieber makes

54:48

an appearance. Really? Yeah.

54:51

He and Usher are tight. I

54:54

saw that – I

54:56

think Bieber did his first live performance

54:58

in like two years recently

55:01

at the NHL All-Star Game. They had it

55:03

in Toronto. Yeah, I think

55:05

Usher's going to call in some favors. He

55:08

seems like he's got good ties with

55:11

a lot of artists. I

55:14

think he's worked on a lot of

55:16

collabs around

55:19

the business. Purdy,

55:21

Mahomes, who's finishing with more

55:23

passing yards? That's

55:26

a good question. I think

55:28

that Purdy has more passing yards

55:33

because I think that the Chiefs are going to be ahead. So

55:36

I think Mahomes is going to throw less, and

55:39

I think that Purdy will probably be trying

55:41

to come back. All

55:45

right. Number of Travis

55:47

Kelsey touchdowns? I

55:53

don't – the Chiefs' receivers

55:55

stink. So I

55:57

think that they're going to keep –

56:00

in a heavy on Kelsey, so I'm gonna

56:02

say he's gonna have one touchdown but

56:05

I don't think that he's gonna have like I

56:09

don't know I mean he had like 11 catches last

56:11

game but that's right it's just wild to me that

56:13

like at his age and

56:15

with no other weapons that he's got

56:18

I just gotta feel like they're gonna shut him down

56:20

you know I could see like the other tight end

56:23

was his name gray having a good game and like

56:26

you know I could see Valdez

56:28

scantling breaking out again but like doesn't

56:31

they just don't have any weapons man that's

56:34

why the Chiefs are even here but like

56:38

you know yeah

56:40

I gotta feel like the 49ers is there anything they're

56:42

gonna do it's gonna be take Kelsey out of the

56:44

game you're

56:47

going to touchdowns for Kelsey I agree with that

56:49

I'm going to just that to add a little

56:51

spice here to our but if it's

56:53

all if we're living in the simulation and it's all

56:56

rigged they want Kelsey to win the MVP and

56:59

he and Taylor you know he proposes

57:01

on the field and you

57:04

know I guess all the

57:06

conspiracy people are saying that then she's gonna

57:08

like endorse Biden or something and you know whoa

57:10

really I think

57:12

so yeah so say yeah

57:14

there's a lining of all that

57:17

everything yeah like he was MVP

57:19

they like you know have a

57:21

moment on the field and she

57:23

because baby appears yeah like all

57:26

the good stuff I didn't reelected

57:28

that's wild man okay so you're the Chiefs

57:30

are gonna win the Super Bowl I

57:32

think the Chiefs are gonna win the Super Bowl yes and

57:35

I hate that I really hate that like I don't

57:37

really want to I don't even really want to bet

57:39

on that because I don't want to root for it

57:41

because I don't really like the Chiefs but I

57:44

just I don't

57:46

know man I feel like they're their momentum

57:48

I feel like they're vibing and

57:51

it kind of feels like the Niners like they

57:54

lost you know their free-safety who Fong go with

57:56

a stud and they've been a little porous on

57:58

the back end feels like their

58:00

defense is like gluing it together a little bit. They

58:03

have all these big names, their linebackers are

58:05

awesome. They should have

58:07

a crazy pass rush, but it just hasn't been

58:09

that good in the playoffs. They've kind of like

58:11

flipped it at the bottom in

58:13

a couple games where you're like, damn, they don't

58:16

look that good. You

58:18

could say the same thing with the Chiefs. I mean, they

58:20

just... I don't know. The Chiefs

58:22

have been in control. I feel like the Chiefs have been

58:24

in control of the game though. Last game, they got up

58:27

early and just basically did what

58:29

an experienced winning team does, just

58:31

controlled the game, basically

58:34

just kind of

58:36

put the Ravens on the defensive. And

58:38

so then they went away from their

58:40

run game and surprising

58:43

how bad Lamar played. But I just feel

58:45

like they were kind of

58:47

playing from behind all game. And I saw

58:49

crazy stat. I don't think the Ravens had

58:51

played from behind in two years or something

58:53

crazy, or all season. I don't think

58:55

they had trailed at all. So there's

58:58

some of that going on too, where it's like, okay,

59:00

these guys know they've been here. I

59:03

feel like they could probably put together,

59:05

I don't

59:07

know, a better game plan is

59:10

where I'm at. I just... I

59:12

like the Niners. I really do. I like watching them. Fucking

59:17

love watching Juicyk play. Like my

59:20

guy, the stiff arm king of the

59:22

Ivy League. They

59:27

have so many weapons, it just feels like they've been

59:29

a little discombobulated and they've been making it work.

59:31

But I don't know if that's... It

59:33

doesn't feel as put together. Whereas

59:36

it feels like the Chiefs are trending, if

59:38

that makes sense. God, just

59:40

a direct arrow through

59:42

Push's heart. I hate to see

59:44

that. But Push,

59:48

I'm sure he'll let you know when he listens to this, but

59:51

I'm sure he's going to have some counter-arguments there

59:53

for you. That's where I'm at. Like I'm rooting

59:55

for the Niners. Like I don't want the Chiefs

59:57

to win, but if you're asking me like... I'm

1:00:00

being honest. Who will? They're a

1:00:03

better bet. Yeah. I agree

1:00:07

with you. Not good. Okay.

1:00:10

Over under is a 47 points. How

1:00:13

many points have we scored? Okay. Let

1:00:15

me think about this. So that's like what,

1:00:18

20… so like a 28, 21 would be over. Yep.

1:00:27

I think Simmons and was

1:00:29

talking about how 27 and 17 have

1:00:31

been a lot of numbers that the Chiefs have scored this year. I

1:00:35

don't know. I

1:00:37

mean I feel like the Chiefs' defenses looked

1:00:40

really good late in games.

1:00:42

I feel like the Chiefs get up early. If

1:00:45

my predictions previous to

1:00:47

this pan out, then

1:00:49

it's a low scoring game. God,

1:00:56

it's so like unfun

1:00:59

to root for an under though. It just

1:01:01

sucks. I know. It's like the worst

1:01:04

bet in sports is like let me bet

1:01:06

the under. It's like yeah, fucking punt. Let's

1:01:08

go. It's the worst

1:01:10

viewing experience. So

1:01:13

let's go over. We'll say over 47. Why not? All

1:01:16

right. I love that. I'll meet

1:01:19

you there with the overs as well because

1:01:21

we want to see some points. All right.

1:01:23

Who's going to be the MVP? Mahomes.

1:01:27

Yep, unfortunately. Not

1:01:30

a lot of arguments there. Now on this prop sheet,

1:01:32

you brought it up already. Will

1:01:35

Kelsey propose the Swift after the game?

1:01:37

No, I don't think so. But that

1:01:39

would be… No. No.

1:01:42

No, unfortunately. All right. That's going to wrap

1:01:44

up our prop bets. I'm not going to

1:01:46

do Gatorade colors because you never know. And

1:01:48

I also think on these sidelines, they have like every

1:01:50

sort of different color. You never know what the hell

1:01:52

is going on. It's

1:01:55

a two horse race for me between yellow and

1:01:57

purple. Yeah

1:02:01

and I feel like they're the most widely like I

1:02:03

don't think anybody hates lemon lime. Yeah. People

1:02:07

you think about like what's the equipment staff going

1:02:09

to put out there that people like you know

1:02:11

red. People don't really like red. It stains your

1:02:13

lips and just for my

1:02:16

days it was usually yellow or I think

1:02:18

we had the Powerade contract at Columbia. It was

1:02:20

a lot of blue which I never really liked.

1:02:24

Blue Powerade was a lot of what we got. But

1:02:28

I think with Gatorade yellow is like

1:02:30

the original so it's always going to

1:02:32

be on the sidelines somewhere. That

1:02:35

Gatorade man. I think purple is

1:02:37

the modern like everybody's favorite the Riptide

1:02:39

Rush like purple is the best.

1:02:43

For sure completely agree with that.

1:02:46

We got a funny Gatorade

1:02:48

story. We're in the final

1:02:50

stage of Ranger School

1:02:52

in Florida and it was very very hot

1:02:54

in the middle of summer and we're

1:02:57

like in day seven

1:02:59

or eight or something like that of it being like

1:03:01

a hundred plus with a hundred degree heat. And you're

1:03:04

moving a lot of distance every single day. And

1:03:07

the only thing that you're drinking

1:03:09

is basically like you know swamp water that you're

1:03:11

purifying yourself. Well the cadre

1:03:13

got concerned because we started to have quite a few people

1:03:16

start to cramp up with heat cramps and

1:03:18

everything else like that. So one

1:03:20

night we're pulling security. Nobody's sleeping of course because

1:03:22

you don't really sleep but we're pulling

1:03:25

security and the instructors come out and

1:03:27

they're like okay everybody you know getting

1:03:29

a circle and they hand us one

1:03:31

of the big bags of Powerade

1:03:33

and it was purple power or purple

1:03:36

Gatorade. And I go okay

1:03:38

spread it out you know everybody put a little

1:03:41

powder in your canteens you

1:03:43

need you guys need some electric lights because we

1:03:45

have too many people dropping out with

1:03:47

heat cramps and I was like

1:03:49

oh some flavor like this is awesome. I'm

1:03:51

so excited about it. And

1:03:54

they walked away because I think they thought that everybody

1:03:56

you know that one bag was going

1:03:58

to just be enough for. for everybody to

1:04:00

fill up their tupple to canteens and

1:04:02

we would be ready to hook but

1:04:04

we had like a lot of

1:04:07

the powder left in that

1:04:09

nobody used. So there's some people that were on the

1:04:11

side that were just like literally scooping up the powder

1:04:14

and like eating it. And man, this

1:04:19

African American category member turns

1:04:21

the corner and comes out

1:04:23

and he's like, hey, mother

1:04:25

fuckers, are you guys

1:04:28

free-basing my fucking Gatorade? Did

1:04:31

I tell you you can free-base my Gatorade?

1:04:34

And literally like sprinted

1:04:37

into the center of this little fucking circle that

1:04:39

we're in, ripped that shit, the

1:04:41

Gatorade went flying everywhere. And

1:04:44

he's like, yo, yo, motherfuckers, better

1:04:46

be happy that I'm not making you pull that shit

1:04:48

out now. I don't give a fuck if you're cramping

1:04:51

up or not. You guys over

1:04:53

here acting like you got tasty treats and shit. Get

1:04:56

the fuck back to work. I was

1:04:58

like, oh my god, dude. Calm

1:05:00

down. It's just some fucking Gatorade power.

1:05:03

Does the military have a contract with like Pepsi

1:05:05

or Coke? Yeah,

1:05:08

we get Gatorade products. So like, you

1:05:10

guys are a Pepsi shop? Yeah,

1:05:13

almost everywhere you go, you're gonna get Gatorade.

1:05:18

But like, so in the mess hall, do they have

1:05:20

like soda? Yeah, they

1:05:22

will. Not a lot of, well, I guess, yeah,

1:05:24

we had some Coke, but

1:05:26

most stateside stuff, it would always pretty

1:05:28

much be Pepsi. That's so

1:05:31

disappointing. I hate that. Well,

1:05:33

especially because, you know, Coke

1:05:36

was started in Columbus, Georgia, proud

1:05:38

military town. I know

1:05:41

Atlanta home base, like, that's

1:05:43

disappointing. Feels like I'm

1:05:46

just not a Pepsi guy. I mean, Gatorade makes it a

1:05:48

little better. But the, I'd

1:05:51

like to see Coke step up. I feel like

1:05:53

it's a better American brand, personally. I

1:05:56

don't know if they actually hold the like legit

1:05:58

contract with them or if it's Cisco

1:06:00

thing or wherever they get their shit. But

1:06:02

I will say this is that you know

1:06:04

how everybody goes crazy for like canned Gatorade

1:06:07

When you go to golf course, you're like,

1:06:09

oh, yeah, I can't Gatorade well

1:06:12

Deployments because it's it's much

1:06:14

easier to ship than

1:06:16

the pallets of bottles Most

1:06:19

everywhere we went like we would have canned

1:06:21

Gatorade. So you're just like, oh, yeah, you

1:06:23

get canned Gatorade And then you I

1:06:26

remember like back in the early

1:06:28

2000s like 2010

1:06:30

when Gatorade first came out with like their protein

1:06:32

shakes and They were also in

1:06:34

those like thick ass fucking cans that if you

1:06:36

you basically put them in the freezer and got

1:06:38

them as Cold as you possibly could they were

1:06:40

so delicious. We used to crush those things

1:06:43

man Have that wash

1:06:45

it down with a what is it a rip it? Yeah

1:06:49

Riff it all day long man But the rip

1:06:51

it's only coming like the middle can because again,

1:06:53

you got to think about the pallets so you

1:06:55

can Yeah back them up. All

1:06:57

right, that concludes our prob bets. I'm

1:06:59

excited for This

1:07:01

weekend. Where are you gonna watch the big game

1:07:04

at anything? Well, I'm signed up for the pod

1:07:06

this week So I got a

1:07:08

you know, we got to get our job done and then hopefully

1:07:10

somewhere in the neighborhood I

1:07:13

don't I thought I was like, maybe I

1:07:15

could host it here, but I don't overload

1:07:17

the the bandwidth In

1:07:19

the crib, so I don't know. I got to figure out where I'm

1:07:21

gonna watch it. I'm not sure yet. Oh Right

1:07:25

Before we get out of here, of course I

1:07:28

just I know that this

1:07:30

is for some weird reason people were like

1:07:32

really in or like super out on him

1:07:35

Toby Keith dying I think honestly

1:07:37

is Like

1:07:40

obviously I'm glad that he's no longer in

1:07:42

pain dealing with stomach cancer and everything But

1:07:44

like some true absolute bangers

1:07:46

that he put out there and I'm

1:07:49

not even talking about the uber patriotic

1:07:51

like, you know That

1:07:53

side of his his catalog. I'm

1:07:55

just talking about like overall his

1:07:57

songs. Okay, and I think He

1:08:00

gets a lot of shit for just toting

1:08:02

the the patriotic card and I'll say this

1:08:04

like American soldier and courtesy of the red

1:08:07

White and blue those songs

1:08:09

still bang so Like

1:08:11

I don't want to hear hear the shit. I think it

1:08:13

was Awesome. He did I think

1:08:15

he's like second or third on the

1:08:18

list for most USO tours ever So

1:08:20

celebrities when they go over and tour troops

1:08:23

and war zones and everything else like that

1:08:26

Did a ton and I think

1:08:28

the only people that like are ahead of him is

1:08:32

God, I can't even remember Bob

1:08:35

Hope obviously holds the record because he's kind

1:08:37

of like the original of it and Gary

1:08:40

Sinise who really is just a modern day

1:08:42

I'm like, yeah, he absolutely

1:08:44

crushes it to this day in

1:08:47

the military space, but you know

1:08:50

Toby Keith he did a ton and You

1:08:53

know, he's got some bangers

1:08:55

man Who was

1:08:57

your favorite USO? Appearance

1:09:01

and your time in the world saying this most

1:09:03

USO tours only go to like main

1:09:05

bases So I never really like

1:09:08

actually witnessed the true USO concert. I used

1:09:10

to make fun of those people that I'm

1:09:12

like, ooh Yeah,

1:09:14

the guy the troops and bag dad like

1:09:17

they get a concert as I'm like out

1:09:19

in the fucking legitimate shit Like

1:09:21

control base somewhere. I'm like, oh, that's that's

1:09:23

cool You read it in the army times

1:09:26

the next morning and you're like, oh that looks like

1:09:28

fun on But

1:09:31

yeah never actually checked out a concert

1:09:34

but there's a couple couple

1:09:36

scared All right. Well, let me let me

1:09:38

expand that when you're back stateside, you're not

1:09:41

deployed. Who's the best guest speaker or like

1:09:44

kind of Celeb

1:09:46

that rolled through I mean

1:09:49

Chuck Norris Really came in

1:09:51

came in gave a speech once. Yeah, he

1:09:53

was like a Legitimate

1:09:56

like a pleasure to be around but also like

1:09:59

an incredible good motivational speaker. I

1:10:01

think once he got done with acting,

1:10:03

he kind of went over into the

1:10:06

speaking side and continues to kind

1:10:08

of lived up to that. He's also pretty sick. I

1:10:11

want to see surprise because every couple of

1:10:13

years there seems to be like this new

1:10:15

headline that Chuck Norris passed away but I

1:10:20

think he's like struggling with cancer still but

1:10:22

it was awesome to see him when he

1:10:24

was at like his full fighting strength and

1:10:26

everything else like that. He's

1:10:28

definitely up there. I also

1:10:32

when I was like a brand new kid in

1:10:34

the military we're at this small bar in

1:10:37

Columbus, Georgia and

1:10:39

there's this like you know they always had

1:10:41

live music and there's like this band on

1:10:43

Friday night and this isn't as all tied

1:10:46

to the military but I remember

1:10:48

sitting there I was like dang like this this

1:10:50

band's pretty good man they got this they're

1:10:52

talking about fried chicken and stuff like that

1:10:54

I'm like it's it was Zach Brown before

1:10:56

it was like anybody knew

1:10:59

who like Zach Brown is that ground band was and

1:11:02

it was awesome to hear him like you know

1:11:04

he's just a dude from Georgia grew up

1:11:06

in DeLonaga just started playing all

1:11:08

these like little bars bouncing around the

1:11:10

state before he literally

1:11:12

got way too popular

1:11:15

started doing cocaine like random people's

1:11:17

hotel rooms and now he's

1:11:19

like super skinny just chilling on a beach

1:11:21

somewhere but it was

1:11:24

kind of wild I did see Toby

1:11:26

Keith he came to Fort Benning one time

1:11:28

no longer called for Benning I'm sorry but

1:11:32

did see him in concert in

1:11:34

the States and it was a cool

1:11:36

show you know yeah love

1:11:39

it other headlines

1:11:42

Bill Maher I think we

1:11:44

joke about this all the

1:11:47

time headline this week that he's

1:11:49

actually recorded a two-hour podcast with Kanye

1:11:51

and is refusing to publish it it

1:11:53

will never be published with a joke

1:11:56

about all the time

1:11:58

of being like hell yeah I'm like,

1:12:00

let's get some of these haters

1:12:02

and losers out there. Let's record a

1:12:04

pod with them and just fucking ice

1:12:07

it for eternity. Such a

1:12:09

savage move. That's good stuff.

1:12:12

I support that move. Then

1:12:15

we got Prince Harry returns to the UK

1:12:18

to be by the king's side during cancer.

1:12:21

Honestly sucks to hear that Chuck

1:12:24

Triple Sticks has cancer. I

1:12:27

think the crown could do themselves a little

1:12:29

better service by what kind of cancer. Maybe

1:12:31

be a little bit more open,

1:12:34

vulnerable, like how bad is it? I don't know.

1:12:36

Maybe people disagree with me on that. But

1:12:38

good to see the prince trying to make

1:12:41

amends if things are bad. Well

1:12:46

I think they definitely can be

1:12:49

good, I'll say that. But

1:12:51

I think it is a good sign. It's a

1:12:53

little bit of an olive branch extended that he

1:12:55

rushed over there to be

1:12:58

by his dad's side and see what's really going

1:13:00

on, especially because they kind of did him dirty

1:13:02

when his grandma died. He

1:13:04

was in London. They didn't even let him fly

1:13:06

or travel with him. Him

1:13:08

and poor Megan, these millionaires had to figure

1:13:10

out a way to get their own transportation

1:13:13

up north. Hate to see that. Yeah.

1:13:16

The last… I don't know. I'm

1:13:19

good on the royals. Finish the crown. I

1:13:21

think I'm good. For sure. The

1:13:23

last thing that I had, Neil, was

1:13:25

for you. I need you to

1:13:28

keep your head on the swivel. I've been

1:13:30

seeing all these videos now of

1:13:32

people with their new Apple Vision Pros

1:13:34

just wandering around cities and

1:13:36

you see them driving fucking cars wearing

1:13:38

the headsets and everything. This seems very

1:13:40

much like a New York City thing.

1:13:43

I think it's going to take over your streets. You used

1:13:45

to have to watch out for all these bike

1:13:47

drivers and fucking everybody else trying to

1:13:49

run you over. These are the next

1:13:51

people you got to watch out for

1:13:53

because they're just going to be with

1:13:55

these headsets on wandering aimlessly around life.

1:13:58

Well, I had a nice morning yesterday. caught

1:14:00

up on a lot of my newsletters. I'm a

1:14:02

big Ben Thompson fan, Shrekery. I'm sure people know

1:14:04

about it. I read

1:14:07

that guy's stuff religiously. He has

1:14:09

had a lot of Apple Vision

1:14:11

Pro content. He linked Casey

1:14:13

Neistat's video in there. I actually watched

1:14:15

that. I don't watch a ton of

1:14:17

Neistat stuff, but he had like the

1:14:19

prototypical him skateboarding around New York, riding

1:14:21

the subway, just basically like what is

1:14:24

it like to wear the Vision Pro

1:14:26

in the real world. Because

1:14:28

I have been interested in like what is this thing for?

1:14:31

I'm not going to get one, but yeah,

1:14:33

this seems like it might be the promise

1:14:36

of the future of augmented reality. Not

1:14:39

completely virtual. You're not in the metaverse,

1:14:41

but you're kind of like if

1:14:44

you could get these goggles to a point where they look

1:14:46

like sunglasses in the next 10

1:14:49

years. Yeah, it would be pretty useful to have

1:14:52

your screens popping up while

1:14:54

you can see where you're going. But

1:14:57

I mean the best use case right now it feels

1:14:59

like is for watching freaking movies on planes. Otherwise,

1:15:02

it doesn't feel like it's great. It

1:15:05

doesn't have the horsepower to do work that you

1:15:08

could get with multiple screens in front of you.

1:15:11

And you don't really

1:15:13

want to be... There's almost just like the

1:15:15

human brain can only handle so many tasks

1:15:17

at once. So it's like the

1:15:19

true definition of like, can you walk and chew

1:15:22

gum? Well, the modern version of that is like,

1:15:24

can you walk and text? People

1:15:26

with their phones right now, they can't

1:15:28

do that. So I don't know if it's good to like, can

1:15:30

you walk and text on your goggles? And

1:15:34

the keyboard is an issue when you're out moving

1:15:36

around and all that stuff. So I

1:15:38

don't think it's... I'm not real concerned

1:15:43

about it just yet. Let me put it that way. Because I

1:15:45

think it'll be kind of a cotton candy high

1:15:47

of like, oh, let me try out this new tech, but I

1:15:49

don't think it's very functional for much in the

1:15:51

real world. It's much more of like a... Honestly,

1:15:54

probably a sweet experience to sit on your couch with them.

1:15:57

For sure. They do look sweet. I'll say that

1:15:59

I think... I was just kind of thrown off

1:16:01

by those videos. Then I saw the transportation

1:16:04

department this morning put out a release

1:16:07

of like, please, we've seen people in

1:16:09

their Teslas wearing their headsets, doing it

1:16:11

at the same time. Don't do that.

1:16:13

I hope that that phase just comes

1:16:16

and goes and they figure out something

1:16:18

else. The government figures out

1:16:20

something else more important that they should focus on

1:16:22

instead of these idiots just doing whatever

1:16:24

they want. The same way I hope that

1:16:27

they forget about the headlines that they made

1:16:29

a couple weeks ago of them trying to

1:16:31

take away our fucking zen flavors. Like just

1:16:33

go fix real stuff for a second and

1:16:35

then you can come back and take shit

1:16:37

away that we actually like

1:16:39

use and enjoy. Tell me

1:16:41

about it. How about we do that? Tell me about

1:16:43

it. Fucking Chuck Schumer needs to like,

1:16:46

do something productive for me, man. Like

1:16:48

I get you concerned with the kids,

1:16:50

but like the flavors,

1:16:52

you know, menthol and wintergreen

1:16:54

flavored zen is not, that's really not the

1:16:56

issue right now. Okay, the vapes, I'll hear

1:16:58

you out on the vapes. I think that's

1:17:00

fair. That's because you guys have like fucking,

1:17:02

they're literally candy flavors on the vapes. But

1:17:04

here's what they fucked up though. And

1:17:06

I know they're technically illegal. The zen has a normal flavor. But

1:17:09

the jewel, like the jewel thing sucked and I

1:17:11

hated that I went through the jewel phase, but

1:17:14

with all the pods and all that, like definitely

1:17:17

better than cigarettes, you know, we're stepping down, right? So

1:17:19

now we're in the zen phase and I think that

1:17:21

we, you know, kind of come to a

1:17:24

good detente with

1:17:27

my nicotine hankering.

1:17:29

Anyway, the jewel,

1:17:31

basically they band it, you know, the flavored pods, but

1:17:33

then what it got replaced with was all these like,

1:17:35

kind of like mid tier big

1:17:38

rigs, like the fumes and the like, technically

1:17:41

those are single use, right? So that the idea

1:17:43

was like, well, you can't have like reusable

1:17:47

vapes. And it's like, well then if

1:17:49

they just, now the market gets flooded with all these like, rigs

1:17:51

from China, which is like, who the fuck knows what's in

1:17:54

those? Like, so like one problem kind of

1:17:56

creates like three more, which is like with the zen,

1:17:58

it's like, man, the zen thing is like, Come on,

1:18:00

guys. Let's just like focus

1:18:02

on some stuff that is

1:18:05

going to make a difference here, right? And this

1:18:07

is not me supporting kids using zen. I

1:18:10

get it. Like the flavors probably make it more

1:18:12

approachable for a kid, but like how

1:18:14

about we just don't fucking sell it to the kids? Yeah,

1:18:17

but those are the same flavors of zen that

1:18:19

you can get in in

1:18:21

Skul straight or Copenhagen for sure.

1:18:23

You can find the fucking sour

1:18:25

apple. You can find a spearmint,

1:18:28

a wintergreen, a coffee,

1:18:30

a whiskey flavor. Like you

1:18:32

can find all those in normal, like leaf

1:18:35

chewing tobacco. So if they're

1:18:37

going to go after zen because of the flavor, I

1:18:39

think the tobacco industry, they're going to be like, well,

1:18:41

hold on a second here. If you're

1:18:44

out banning flavors, there's a lot bigger thing that

1:18:46

we have going on. When at the end of

1:18:48

the day, like I don't know,

1:18:50

hold some of these fucking people accountable who

1:18:52

are actually selling them to the kids, right?

1:18:55

Because all these people that are selling them, they're just

1:18:57

trying to make fucking money, and they're the ones that

1:18:59

are breaking the fucking laws. Hundopee.

1:19:02

Anyhow. All

1:19:07

right. That was the party. We made

1:19:09

it through what I will say next month. We're going

1:19:11

to work. Guys, listen. I

1:19:13

understand that the rest of the podcasts on this

1:19:15

here channel don't care about the voicemail line. We

1:19:19

love the listener line. Listener line.

1:19:21

833-330-8725. I want to hear personal

1:19:23

goals from the people out there.

1:19:26

I want to know what

1:19:28

do they think about Super Bowl, Super

1:19:31

Bowl results. We've

1:19:33

got ball mowers coming up. We're going to have a couple

1:19:35

perfect clubs coming up in

1:19:37

the next couple weeks. There's a ton of things

1:19:39

that are going on here at the Trapped Rock.

1:19:41

I decided for everybody to be home. What did

1:19:44

I miss? Two things on

1:19:47

the listener line. 833-330-8725.

1:19:49

Name and town if

1:19:52

you used to opine. Next

1:19:54

door stories. Anything you want to

1:19:56

rant about. Listen. Anything. Just send

1:19:59

it in. I mean, it's like the promises that we're

1:20:01

going to air it, but

1:20:03

like send us some feedback. Send us some

1:20:05

ideas. What do you want us chopping it

1:20:07

up about? Love it. All

1:20:09

right, brother. Good stuff. Remember

1:20:30

night. Remember

1:20:36

night. Remember

1:20:38

night. Your

1:20:41

favorite rapper. Your

1:20:44

favorite rapper. The

1:20:47

absolute. No.
