I told them straight

0:08

drop this and

0:10

zip lock that,

0:12

right on my

0:15

waistline is why

0:17

I kept that

0:20

strap. I remember

0:22

nights, I didn't remember nights,

0:25

I damn near went crazy, I had to get it

0:27

right. I'm

0:29

your favorite rapper, favorite rapper,

0:31

hey, I'm your favorite trapper,

0:34

favorite trapper, the

0:36

absolute truth. Ladies and

0:38

gentlemen, the booth is

0:40

back with a

0:43

whole new perspective. Neil,

0:45

welcome back, buddy. Thank

0:48

you. Thank you. It's good to be back. We

0:50

are back working from home, of course, which helps

0:52

a ton. We are a month into fatherhood and

0:54

you know, things are going well. How are you,

0:56

Cody? I'm very good. It's

0:59

a good morning here in Texas.

1:01

It finally feels like spring, which

1:03

I like and I'm sure you've

1:06

kind of been cooped up. I don't know when you

1:08

guys went in, you know, when you went into lockdown

1:10

here with this new kid. Now you're coming

1:12

out the other side. It feels like there's been

1:14

like a very probably like a big shift outside

1:16

for you. Yeah, I got a nice, nice

1:18

view out my window. The

1:21

trees are green, but

1:23

with great weather for a couple of days and

1:25

it flipped back to freezing rain, I think today

1:27

and tomorrow. It's April

1:29

18th. It needs to flip

1:31

for good, but we're not here

1:33

to talk about the weather. A lot has changed over

1:35

the last month, but there's something that hasn't changed. You

1:38

know what that is? Roback. Yes,

1:40

we are ready for spring golf. Thanks to

1:43

Roback with new designs for the spring. Roback

1:45

has you covered on the course and off.

1:47

They keep coming out with incredible new releases

1:50

and beyond just golf. They have bathing suits,

1:52

Cody. So we can be using those

1:54

to go. growing

2:00

up. You already know about the

2:02

Roback Performance polos. They have crisp collars that don't

2:04

lose their shape. The designs are incredible and the

2:06

fit is far better than the old boxy polos.

2:09

Trust us when we say they're worth

2:11

checking out. They also know about their

2:13

performance q-zips. The definition of versatile these

2:15

q-zips are made to keep you warm

2:18

for an early round while you look sharp

2:20

and remain comfortable and Roback's hoodies might be

2:22

the most comfortable piece of clothing we own.

2:24

They are so soft, yet still lightweight and

2:27

breathable. It can keep up on the course

2:29

and off it and it's literally anywhere

2:31

in between. You know what, I'm gonna go off script here. I

2:35

love the workout shirts

2:37

too. So check those out. If you haven't

2:39

already, it's time to load up on some

2:41

Roback both for yourself and for others use

2:43

the code TRAPP. T-R-A-P on

2:45

roback.com for a generous 20%

2:48

off your first

2:50

order through the end of

2:52

this week. That's spelled r-h-o-b-a-c-k.com.

2:55

That's 20% off all bottoms, q-zips,

2:57

hoodies and more with code TRAPP.

3:00

Get ready for golf season and

3:02

spring and the pool and with

3:04

Roback. Neil knocking the rust

3:06

off there. Very good buddy. We made it

3:08

through it. I thought we were cooking there

3:10

and then I got I got hung up.

3:13

I got I got hung up. But yes,

3:15

we got to got to get back in

3:17

the swing of things. Cody, where are we going today? Well,

3:19

first of all, shout out to Roback. We

3:22

truly appreciate their support. You shouted out their

3:24

their athletic fits. I'm wearing a short sleeve

3:26

one right now. But honestly, they're long sleeve

3:28

ones. I beat those things up.

3:31

I'm gonna have to order a couple more. Before

3:33

we get going too far

3:35

down the road. I also we need to shout

3:37

out Mr. Jeezy, of course, of

3:40

course, because we have this we have the

3:42

habit that it's not gonna, you

3:44

know, we're not gonna get it done if we don't do it

3:46

right out of the gate. But Neil,

3:49

a lot has changed. A lot is

3:51

still the same. And I know

3:54

it's a weird thing welcoming in a

3:57

child into this world. there

4:00

was something I don't know how deep you

4:02

want to go into it outside

4:04

of you know you've already put out put it

4:06

out there little Pete very healthy very

4:08

happy what do you say about the little

4:10

guy he's like well

4:12

a few things yeah we get we get

4:15

in the weeds you know apologies anywhere that's

4:17

not a father but it's it's

4:19

like entering a club all these

4:22

people are on the other side of this this

4:24

fence and now I'm on that side of the fence

4:26

and so it's like this very was this a bee

4:28

knee situation do you feel like you were prepared I

4:32

think I was ready mentally yeah I

4:34

think it's like a

4:36

very unique personal experience that like nobody can

4:38

you know people give you advice and I've

4:40

opened all that advice before the kid comes

4:42

but then it's like it's

4:45

very like personal to you but yet

4:47

it's shared by like you

4:50

know the entire population like everybody's gone through

4:52

it but it's also very singular thing for

4:54

you and and very much and your wife

4:56

or your partner and there's no

4:59

two things that are ever the same

5:01

it does it when if you guys

5:03

ever welcome in future kids it's there

5:05

everything's different for each individual one

5:08

yeah so it's it's good I mean it's just

5:10

it comes you know it comes at you quick

5:12

I think I a few things that I was

5:15

probably not prepared for like in the hospital for

5:17

instance they they hit

5:19

you early with like how regimented and scheduled it

5:21

is and for some reason maybe I didn't anticipate

5:23

I was like oh it's like we got a

5:25

track like when he poops and

5:27

pees like schedule man like every

5:29

two hours if he doesn't like sound

5:32

the alarms it's just like oh okay

5:34

we're like you know immediately like you're in

5:37

it so yeah but you know months in

5:39

it this is probably a

5:41

cliche but I feel like

5:43

how does how is a month gone by but

5:46

at the same time I'm like Taurus sauce

5:48

in January feels like three years ago truly

5:50

yeah so there's just like certain aspects of

5:52

life that feel like they're going on forever

5:54

and there's others that feel like I

5:57

blinked and it's you know we're a month in

5:59

so but over all like

6:01

last night we had a fantastic night.

6:04

Little Pete slept from 9pm to 2am. Wow

6:08

you're stretching the hours out. Yeah, Christon

6:10

woke up and fed him and

6:12

I think he was back to sleep by

6:14

like 2.45 and slept again till 6. Oh

6:17

my goodness, was that the first night of

6:20

one wake up? We're kind of like, I

6:22

think that's like the second or third like,

6:25

you know, the night before there was a little

6:27

bit of like a wake

6:29

up but like no feeding, like we were able to

6:31

get him back to sleep. So, but

6:34

I said to Carson, I was like, do not, this

6:36

is not the norm. Like the minute we think

6:38

like, oh, we we lift it, like

6:41

it's he's gonna, you know, turn

6:43

into a terrorist again. Yeah,

6:47

there's always progress and then immediately you're

6:49

going to go through some periods of

6:51

regression. It just happens. But before we

6:53

get continuing on current day where Little

6:56

Petey's at, you guys, you

6:58

and your beautiful bride made the decision

7:00

that you wanted to keep it a

7:02

surprise. You didn't have surprises in your

7:04

life. Are you comfortable? Are

7:06

you happy that you stuck with that decision all the

7:09

way through? Yes, 100%. It

7:11

was like a true what a

7:13

world moment. I think I was

7:15

subconsciously thinking it was going to be a

7:17

girl, even though you definitely don't know but when

7:20

I when he you know comes, comes

7:22

firing out like a freaking zombie coming out

7:24

of a out of the, out

7:27

of the ground with his hand pops out first. I'm like,

7:29

Oh my god. I think I literally

7:31

said like, Oh my god,

7:33

look at that. Like, look at that.

7:36

That's incredible. I look around the baby

7:38

shower stuff was there was it all

7:40

unisex gifts? Or was there like, did

7:43

your mother, you know, did

7:45

pay go or your mother in law be like,

7:47

okay, so we love

7:49

that you guys are in on the surprise thing.

7:52

But we're getting two packages, we're gonna have a boy

7:54

package, we're gonna have a girl package, we're just gonna wait.

7:56

Or is it all just down the middle stuff?

8:00

And it's so easy with kids because… Blue,

8:03

gray, yellow, a lot of kind

8:05

of – at first, animals

8:07

that both genders like…

8:10

Yeah, giraffes are cute, man. … but then

8:12

since it's been a – the boy stuffs

8:14

come in hot and heavy. I'd say, honestly,

8:17

a big surprise, which is like

8:19

a lovely surprise. I guess

8:21

I underestimated how fired up everybody in your life

8:23

gets about you having a kid. Like

8:26

including like – and like how nice like our neighbors have been. Like

8:28

we don't – you know, we kind of know our

8:30

neighbors in passing, but like a lot of people just like in

8:32

the building like dropping off gifts. That's really

8:35

cool. Yeah, it's great. It's just –

8:37

you know, and the real ones know.

8:39

The real ones know. Nobody loves

8:41

animal print onesies more than

8:43

me. I have a lot of expertise in

8:45

that field. But like a

8:47

few people – I want to shout out

8:49

a Trapdraw participant, Mr. Poosh, sent

8:51

us a DoorDash code.

8:54

Like kind of like real ones know like, oh,

8:56

dude, you just hooked up dinner for us for a couple nights.

8:59

Like that was – that is so clutch.

9:02

So some of the people looking out for

9:04

the parents out there with gifts, we appreciate

9:06

that. That is awesome.

9:09

Okay. So you had the surprise

9:11

coming in. You guys were all set. But before

9:13

you left, the last thing that we really heard

9:15

was you still had some nesting projects

9:17

that you were working on. Specifically

9:19

around the nursery. We know you got your

9:22

car seats and your strollers and all that

9:24

stuff dialed in. But

9:26

how did you – did you finish

9:28

the nursery prior to Baby's

9:30

arrival? No,

9:33

but it was – we finished what we wanted

9:35

to finish. So immediately when we

9:37

got home, it was like, okay, we have – we

9:39

have like a guest room. And

9:43

I finally made a decision, and I was at peace with it. I was

9:45

like, we got to get this bed out of here. It

9:47

can't be both. It can't be – no one's going to

9:49

stay with us anymore in New York. Sorry. Was that

9:52

a hard decision? Yeah, it was because I – like, you know,

9:54

I wanted my – in my head is like, oh, maybe we

9:56

could make this work where like if my mom wants to come

9:58

up and stay, you know, I don't want to have that. get

10:00

a hotel or whatever. But you know,

10:02

I was like, you know what, you can't split the

10:04

difference on this one. So we got the bed

10:06

out and it just flipped that room into like, it

10:09

freed up so much space in other parts of the

10:11

apartment for like all the baby stuff that

10:13

we were trying to like fit in

10:16

weird spots. And so that that was pretty

10:18

clutch. I had like a, you know,

10:20

donation service just come get because getting rid of the

10:22

other thing is getting rid of a bed and a

10:24

bed frame is such a hassle. So

10:27

I was like, all right, in all in this

10:29

problem. Yeah, in the city like get just have some

10:31

guys come over. Like I took

10:33

took it apart. So you can get out the door

10:35

just like you guys go donate

10:37

this mattress or once it's

10:39

in your hands like, don't do whatever you

10:42

want with it. And so

10:44

then we were able to re figure the

10:46

room, I was able to

10:48

use a few like a

10:50

like arms like lighting

10:53

rigs to get like some, you know, things

10:55

that the kid can look at when he's

10:57

on the changing table. Yeah, just kind of

10:59

so I've, you know, we don't own the

11:01

house. So it's like, I don't

11:04

want to, I'm not gonna like paint the walls and

11:06

like set up a true nursery. But like, yeah, I

11:08

think we have a very, I'm very happy with our

11:10

setup. Now we have our rocking

11:12

chair in that room, which is great. Instead

11:14

of like, for a

11:16

minute there, I was like rocking chairs in our room, I

11:19

couldn't even like get to my side of the bed, which

11:21

was like one of those little things that was driving me

11:23

crazy. I'm like, I'm fucking walls are caving in on me.

11:26

You know, it feels like you're spending basically all

11:28

your time in there just because it's like

11:30

constantly like sleeping, oh,

11:33

feeding, burping, a little bit of playtime sleeping

11:35

and we're like, you're on this two hour

11:37

cycle and you're just like, man, it feels

11:39

like we're not leaving leaving this room.

11:42

And then if you go into the living

11:44

room and you have a moment to watch TV or

11:46

something like that, you're constantly like, keep

11:48

it down. Yeah, wake up the kid. Exactly.

11:51

So I think it's been and your advice was

11:53

like, get the kid into his room as soon

11:55

as possible. We haven't done that yet, but having

11:58

the kids room. It

12:00

means that Carson or I can take – if he is

12:02

freaking out, I don't know. I

12:04

don't think we both should have to wake up. I'm

12:07

happy. I was trying to work the night shift as

12:09

much as possible with

12:11

a bottle and stuff, but yeah,

12:14

we're figuring it out as we go.

12:16

I think it's been frustrating for Carson

12:18

because there's no set – like you said at

12:20

the beginning. There's no – this

12:22

is how you do things. It's

12:24

always – anybody asks, well, it could be this

12:26

or that. You're going to get advice

12:29

from different people. And so I'm like, all

12:31

right, well, let's just – we

12:33

just got to figure it out ourselves. So I'm

12:35

fired up, though. I think we're doing a pretty good job. Very

12:39

good. I mean, glowing reports all

12:41

across the board. Have there been

12:43

any moments where you're like, uh-oh,

12:48

our kid might be in danger. Because when

12:50

you're at the hospital, you talked

12:52

about the schedule and the routine.

12:54

And I think that

12:56

specifically OBGYNs, but

12:59

when you're in like the

13:01

birthing center, you know, that's –

13:03

it's kind of a factory. And you're just

13:05

another, you know, group of people

13:08

who are in and out and they're like, all right, cool. On

13:10

to the next one. And you have your – you

13:12

know, the stork nurse that's specifically there for the

13:14

baby, but then you got nurses taking care of

13:17

mama and everything else. You got lactation

13:19

consultants coming in, trying to

13:21

get you dialed in and ready to go.

13:23

And then all of a sudden, before you know it, they're

13:25

like, all right, see you later. You're

13:28

going to need to go see your pediatrician

13:30

at this appointment and then, you know, 24-hour

13:32

follow-up, 48-hour follow-up, 72-hour follow-up, then like weeks and

13:35

everything else like this. And

13:38

it just comes so fast. And then you're out in the

13:40

world. And they're just like, take

13:43

this baby and you guys are

13:45

responsible for its survival now. And

13:47

I remember that was the moment for me, like, oh

13:50

my goodness, like, I

13:53

should have took more notes. I should

13:55

have paid attention to like maybe those

13:57

videos a little bit more. because

14:01

there's just a lot of life coming at you.

14:04

No, nothing serious. I mean, I think

14:07

it might have taken Carson's like

14:09

milk to come in a little too long. So like the

14:12

two or three days after the hospital, we were like, you

14:15

know, I'm gaining as much weight as we

14:17

wanted. But then, then the milk bar opened

14:19

and it's been just a feeding frenzy. So

14:22

that's what is it what she's stressing up

14:24

to that point, big time and also just

14:26

like so I will shout out the lactation

14:28

consultant. She's been alleged clutch and

14:30

just like reinforcing like you're not doing

14:32

anything wrong. Like, you know, and I could

14:35

say that 50 times. It doesn't matter

14:37

what I say. But it's like,

14:39

okay, like it's just reinforcing like it's not,

14:42

you know, it's not you. It is this is

14:44

this is normal. That stuff has been good. No,

14:46

I mean, we, you know, we were worried he was

14:48

fussing a couple days ago and he felt warm. So

14:51

you know, I had to stick the thermometer up his

14:53

butt. Everything looked good. Yes,

14:55

have any papers or anything? You know, he's

14:57

cool. And you know, I'm sure all parents

15:00

go through this. I think he's like super

15:02

cute. Yeah. And your word is like, it's

15:04

my do I just think that cuz he's my kid, you know,

15:07

cute kid. So it's kind of like, because I don't

15:09

think my mom is like, joking

15:11

around with me actually this morning. She's like, Yeah, you weren't

15:13

a very cute baby. I was like, Damn, mom. Well,

15:16

compared to Todd, you weren't very good. I was

15:18

like, Oh, okay. So I

15:21

think you're you're doing okay, buddy. And you're

15:23

right. Little PD is, is very, very cute.

15:25

It's okay to say, you guys

15:27

got pictures out there so people can go look if they

15:29

want. I was I

15:31

want to surprise is how quickly I

15:34

became comfortable holding them like up until

15:36

you know, Pete arrived. It's like, even

15:39

my nephews, it's like, Am I holding them right? I don't

15:41

know. I don't want his head to fall off. You know,

15:43

he's got no neck string.

15:46

And it's like, within a couple hours, like,

15:48

Oh, I'm just carrying him like a football.

15:50

Yeah, you know, on it's just another part

15:52

of your whatever appendage. I'm walking around, I

15:54

got him, you know, it's 3am. I'm trying

15:56

to heat up a bottle. He's on my

15:58

shoulder, you know, so like

16:00

that's that's great. I will say though,

16:04

you know, I think I said it here on this

16:06

pod. Worried about my

16:08

let my patience is it I

16:11

was right to be worried about that I struggle with

16:14

the patient stuff and there's something almost

16:16

biological about when that kid is screaming

16:18

in in your face. It's

16:21

like it's like a shrill sound

16:24

that you're like, I'll do anything to make you

16:26

like why are you doing this, you know,

16:28

like I'm dude, what is the freakin problem

16:30

man. And so that's

16:32

that's been, you know, an

16:35

adjustment because I'm it's like

16:37

just dealing with an irrational actor is is

16:39

the other thing that I I would say

16:41

I'm I'm struggling with and this is gonna

16:43

sound really stupid. But

16:45

I can't help it. I just it takes

16:48

I underestimated how long it would take

16:50

to to go anywhere. Like

16:53

and it's just little getting out of the door

16:55

getting out of the my apartment

16:57

building like there's this stupid little bump in

16:59

at the front door. And

17:02

like getting the stroller over the bump

17:04

it's in the door. I got it's

17:06

like it's just this whole like caravan

17:08

it's like getting a freaking covered wagon

17:10

to Oregon. Like just

17:12

go for a walk. I'm like, so I

17:14

love the baby carrier. I got the you

17:16

know, the thing like the koala pouch. Yeah,

17:19

I'm like any chance I can just like that

17:22

thing has been a godsend for what

17:24

last resort can't get the kid to stop

17:26

crying. I've put him in that you know,

17:28

at like 1am and gone and walked around the

17:31

block and he's out. Right,

17:33

which is like maybe a bad habit like, like, you

17:35

know, if he's only gonna fall asleep

17:37

on me, but like sometimes

17:39

desperate times you just got to like, get

17:42

up, he they like know it's like, oh god,

17:44

finally, I can sit down. And it's

17:46

almost like kids like, yo, you think you could

17:48

sit down? Absolutely not get your fucking ass back

17:51

on your feet, go walk and keep walking, you

17:53

know. So when I can when I can strap

17:55

them in and I have my hands, I've

17:58

you know, I've had them strapped in here. working

18:00

at my desk, like that's the

18:02

that's been a game changer getting

18:04

that getting the baby carrier involved.

18:07

So your chest rig is truly lifesaver

18:10

for you so far. It has been

18:13

yes, because it just like, I don't

18:15

know, it allows me to stay mobile.

18:17

And it kind of helps with the

18:19

impatience a little bit of just

18:22

like, trying to do anything

18:24

is like, you know, and some of

18:26

it's just like, I'm sure we'll get

18:28

our process down getting my like

18:30

go bag ready to go all that stuff. But

18:34

yeah, that just I just I'm a pretty

18:36

like, I try to be efficient.

18:38

And I think it maybe it's accentuated by the

18:40

fact that we live in a

18:42

place that's always in a hurry. So like

18:45

I live in this city that's like all fast paced.

18:47

And it's like, I'm just I'm moving

18:50

like molasses. It's like, God, man,

18:52

I'm fucking that's gonna be an adjustment.

18:54

You're trying to literally for the Mississippi

18:57

every single day. Yeah. And you're just like, ah,

18:59

no, I literally just need to go to the

19:01

walk and like pick something up at the bodega.

19:03

Basically, everybody just chill. You talked

19:05

about your feelings a little bit there.

19:08

I'm gonna flip it. What's

19:10

a couple things that you've you've learned?

19:14

Or maybe stuff that you didn't really

19:16

appreciate about Carson that this last month

19:18

has taught you? Well,

19:20

I would say the, you

19:22

know, if being honest, like the there's not

19:24

a I feel a deep sense of like

19:26

responsibility, like, okay, this is my kid, like,

19:29

he's not, he's not dying

19:31

on my watch. Okay, like, that's not going

19:33

to happen. But,

19:36

you know, the emotional attachment, it's

19:38

like, he's not literally sucking life

19:40

from, you know, from me. So

19:43

watching that bond with, with, with

19:45

Carson has been very, very rewarding.

19:47

I think I've done a

19:49

pretty good job of trying to take over like,

19:51

a lot of the household stuff used to hate

19:53

going to the grocery. I've got a I've got

19:55

a routine dialed now, like during street cleaning for

19:58

the for the car. I

20:00

use it to go to the grocery. I know

20:02

that I'm starting to get the whole foods map.

20:04

It's just, you know, the plans are in my

20:06

head now. We've got our

20:09

essentials that we're going to get every week. You know, I

20:11

feel like that's the kind of thing that coming

20:13

home with supplies, doing the

20:15

laundry, just kind of making sure, like

20:18

knowing Carson doesn't like, you

20:21

know, clutter things on the

20:23

countertops. So like at night and in the morning, like

20:26

putting stuff away, unloading the dishwasher,

20:28

just like sometimes an apartment. I

20:30

feel like I live on a ship because it's

20:32

like everything, you know, on like

20:35

a boat. You got to like very tight quarters. Yeah.

20:37

You're like one counter. So you got to like, you

20:39

take it out, you put it away, put it away.

20:41

And then you take the other thing out. And so

20:43

like, I'm kind of like the quarter master right

20:46

now, just kind of, uh,

20:48

figuring out where everything goes and making sure

20:50

it gets back to its rifle place, uh,

20:52

so a lot more chores for me, but

20:55

you know, it's, it's kind of a, become a

20:57

nice way to start the day. Uh,

20:59

it's, it's, it's starting to feel like normal.

21:02

I guess that is, is what I'm getting at there

21:04

of like, instead of me getting up and doing my

21:06

own thing, I'm like, okay, I got to take care

21:08

of the household first. And then I can go do

21:10

my own thing. It's crazy. I'm

21:13

sure, I don't know if you're at this moment yet, but

21:16

you'll eventually get there. Is you'll

21:18

have a moment to be like, wow.

21:20

Like, you know, we're getting

21:23

the same amount of stuff done

21:25

in our normal life because you're slowly now

21:27

jumping back into what your normal life is.

21:29

You're back to work, normal

21:31

things that you're, you're responsible for at

21:33

the business, normal things that you're responsible

21:35

for in life with

21:37

meeting your friends and everything else.

21:40

Um, and it's crazy to look back

21:43

and realize how inefficient you

21:45

were with your time before and

21:48

how everything now is like

21:50

dialed to a T because it has to be.

21:53

Yep. Which I think I'm,

21:55

I, I remember that I may have

21:57

brought it up here. Like I remember when I did. that

22:00

boxing stuff that forced me

22:02

to get super efficient. So I kind of I feel

22:04

like I've got a blueprint. Like I kind of know

22:06

that's possible of like, okay, you can do, you can

22:09

take on something like, that's gonna

22:11

be super time consuming. And still, it

22:14

just means you got to cut other stuff out. And I will say like, I,

22:17

you know, like, I've cut out booze this month. And

22:20

we're like, just like, you know, why don't for

22:22

April, we just don't drink. And that's been like,

22:24

hate to say it, because you know, I love

22:26

cold beer. But it's been,

22:29

it's been really, it's been really helpful, like, especially in

22:31

the mornings. It's like, all right, it just allows you

22:33

to like, get up and get going a little bit

22:35

quicker. So like, you

22:37

know, and then it's allowed me like, I've been in

22:39

a good workout phase, which will get a little goals

22:41

check in here shortly. One thing,

22:43

though, that has taken up some time, and

22:46

I don't know if this is biological or not, I

22:48

didn't realize how quickly I would start

22:51

wasting time on Zillow, looking

22:54

for, looking for homes that

22:56

I'm like, those

22:59

walls come in quick, huh? I don't think that's

23:01

gonna happen anytime soon. But I'm like, it's

23:03

like, I like I love my apartment. I like

23:05

living in the city. But you just

23:08

it's actually more of like, this desire

23:10

to have a place of your

23:12

own. Yeah, like own something as

23:14

like really fired up in the last month. And I

23:16

thought I was thinking about it yesterday. Like, that's

23:19

really funny, man. And God, that Zillow

23:21

that you can mean it's a

23:23

little addicting to go look, well, I wonder what, you

23:25

know, I was joking with Dej, I was looking up

23:27

like, well, I wonder what things look like in Milwaukee.

23:31

So much fucking value up there. Are you kidding me? You

23:34

know, so it's like you start looking all over

23:36

the world at like, well, what about what about

23:38

what about Texas? You know, so

23:40

that's that's been a little bit of a

23:42

time suck. But man, talk about

23:44

talking about becoming a dad, it's like signing

23:47

up for an account on Zillow. What's

23:49

what's gotten into me? Yeah.

23:51

Now speaking of living in the city

23:54

and being in the Northeast, you

23:56

guys have some some great built in

23:58

help around you. And I know

24:01

that's primarily the reason outside of Carson's

24:03

job while you guys are still there

24:05

So what's been the best part about

24:07

having a ton of family a

24:10

ton of friends there to kind of usher you

24:12

guys into this New stage of life. Well

24:14

having my in-laws nearby has been great. We've

24:16

been out to hang with them I probably

24:19

something I probably underestimated was just

24:22

how much grandmothers my

24:24

mom and my mother-in-law Love

24:27

this kid I mean they just want to they just want

24:29

to look at him. They just want to see pictures I

24:31

mean, it's just non-stop like they just want to hold them

24:34

You know, which is great for me because I you know, I like

24:36

holding the kid but like in doses,

24:38

you know I'm like, all right. He's I'm like

24:41

trying to get him to sleep so I can put him down

24:43

as quickly as possible and My

24:46

mother-in-law don't have to feel guilty about that because it's 3

24:48

in the morning when he's freaking the fuck out You're still

24:50

gonna be the one and I'll say nobody everybody wants to

24:53

hold me given. No one wants to work the night shift

24:56

Like that's we gotta you know, and then he starts

24:58

crying it's like oh he's hungry. He's hungry. Yeah,

25:01

we know. Okay So

25:04

but that's that's been very helpful Plus

25:07

like my sister-in-laws are all in this, you

25:09

know around too so that they've been it's

25:11

great to see them all like dote on the kid and That's

25:16

that's lovely. The other thing it's really nice is Not

25:20

having like I mentioned it's Hard

25:23

to get in and out of the house but I think

25:25

it'd be almost harder like when you got to get in

25:27

the car and the car seat and All

25:30

that being able to use the carrier just walk out the

25:32

door. I think actually living

25:34

here And having

25:36

most things walkable has been nice Probably

25:39

probably nice until the kid it you know till

25:42

little Pete starts walking himself then it'll probably be

25:44

tough but Everything

25:46

just becomes a hazard then yeah A

25:49

newborn though like, you know

25:51

walk to the pediatrician you go walk, you know

25:53

walk everywhere So isn't the thing in New York

25:55

City like oh, yeah once you have a kid

25:58

like you already have to be in And

26:01

like basically your decision already needs to be made

26:04

if you're going like public school, private school, because

26:06

the waiting lists are so long for everything. Yeah,

26:08

I'm not, I'm not getting into that rat race

26:10

right now. We do have a

26:13

daycare situation set up. It's like

26:15

a block and a half away, which I'm fired

26:17

up about. When's PD gonna start that? Soon? Probably

26:20

July. Ooh. So

26:22

we're set up there,

26:24

which is great. Just the convenience. We got

26:27

like three or four couples like in our

26:29

building have their, you know, one,

26:32

like nine month old, one year old going there

26:34

too. So it's like, oh, great. We got people

26:36

we know they like it. You

26:38

know, so that's, I think that, that was kind

26:40

of a big, getting that

26:42

figured out ahead of time has been a big weight off my shoulders

26:44

because it's like that. Or do you get a nanny or do you

26:46

get a nanny share? And that's when like you get caught in the

26:49

like NYC rat race of

26:52

like, you know, cause

26:54

yeah, it's like, so

26:56

people got some show up here, man. Yeah.

26:58

I was going to say shout out to

27:01

one of our former sponsors there, but, but

27:03

that, that's money, like that's a lot of

27:05

money. Yeah, it is. Yeah. So I think

27:07

we, we found something that, that, that works

27:09

for, for us financially, all that stuff. So

27:11

that's good. That's the second time that you've

27:13

mentioned the building and community.

27:16

Do you find you like have

27:18

a new sense of community with,

27:20

with the people that are in the building, the

27:22

people that are around that, you know, you're always

27:24

been super nice and say hi and you get

27:26

to know your neighbors, but now you

27:29

guys are in this like together and

27:31

you're like, you got to do a

27:33

little thing. We have a little thing. Like are

27:35

we dad friends now? Like, are we in this

27:38

together? I think I'm

27:40

starting to, starting to pick up on some of

27:42

that, which is great. Uh, I felt that way

27:44

with the dog to start with. So it's just

27:46

like the next step in that process. Do you

27:48

want to shout out a couple of things though,

27:50

that you had it on here, like tips and

27:52

tricks and hacks. Mention

27:55

the baby carrier. That's been my favorite thing.

27:57

We have this pillow, the breast friend. which

28:00

is like this nursing pillow that like, it's like a,

28:02

basically like an inner tube that Carson puts around her.

28:04

I've been using it a bunch because it gets that,

28:06

like, locks that kid up like chest

28:08

height. So you don't have to use your arms as much.

28:11

Things been such a game changer. The other thing I want

28:13

to call out is captions

28:15

on Netflix. I'm like,

28:17

I'm all in on Netflix captions because if

28:20

the kid starts crying, we don't have to

28:22

pause every time. You know,

28:24

to fix it. It's like, Oh no, we'll just throw the

28:26

captions on and we can let it run. So. I

28:29

agree with you. 100% there. We use, I used to be

28:31

100% anti captions. It

28:34

was distracting on the screen. Uh,

28:37

you know, we've, we've been parents for a bit now. We,

28:41

it doesn't matter if the kids are old, they're in

28:43

bed, they're doing whatever. Yari and I,

28:45

every show that we watch still has captions on it. It's,

28:49

I think it's additive at this point. Very

28:51

much is. And I know that there's

28:53

times where I find myself reading more

28:55

than I'm watching, but then I'm

28:57

like, well, I, I like, I like it better.

29:00

I might've missed it. It kind of keeps me

29:02

locked into the show. Sometimes

29:04

it'll like say the character's name. So I'm like,

29:06

Oh, like I'm watching that three body problem show

29:08

right now on Netflix, which I'm, I'm not usually

29:11

a huge sci-fi guy, but kind

29:13

of locked in on this. Uh, I

29:15

also love it's the guys that

29:17

did game of thrones and that guy, David

29:19

Benioff wrote my, my favorite book ever city

29:21

of thieves. So they like

29:23

don't miss with, with, uh, making

29:26

like sci-fi, like just realistic enough to

29:28

keep me, you know, to

29:30

keep me interested, but it gets real complicated. So it's

29:32

like, okay, who is this character? But it's like putting

29:34

the name on screen. So that kind of helps me

29:37

track things, which is good. And

29:39

the last thing I want to shout out the very last

29:41

thing. It's been crucial.

29:44

Is stone Creek coffee. Cody, tell us

29:47

about stone Creek coffee. Oh, you know,

29:49

we love our guys at stone Creek.

29:51

Drew is the man. And

29:54

here we are. It's it's, you know,

29:56

we're finally postmasters massive

29:58

Augusta hangover. Neil's. trying to

30:00

take care of that baby. What do we

30:02

need for these moments? We need some of

30:05

that stone Creek coffee stone Creek was the

30:07

official coffee at that block party

30:09

last week. Not the success that we were

30:11

hoping for, but I live in learn to

30:13

be associated with that block. Well, that's why

30:15

he is. He's kind of signing himself up

30:17

for something. Uh, I appreciate the

30:20

route that he's going here, but I don't know.

30:22

Most people are trying to distance themselves from the block

30:24

party, but probably a lot more. We could get into

30:26

there, but that's besides the point. Well,

30:29

while things unfortunately got out of hand there, uh,

30:32

we're going to bring it back to the PGA. So

30:34

it sounds like the block party. We're going to have

30:36

some, some morning, uh, some

30:38

morning drinks, some, some cold brews, maybe some

30:40

hot brews. It might be a pretty good

30:42

together, but I'm not ready. Let's we'll, we'll

30:45

table that, but we appreciate that that stone

30:47

Creek would, would support if we want to

30:49

throw a block party. And

30:51

I just wanted to know you were talking about

30:53

caters. I felt it was more of a potluck

30:55

thing. Okay. You can't let those deep back guy,

30:57

your brother out there, buddy that had

30:59

a food truck, but then he stood me up.

31:01

That's totally blown out

31:03

of proportion. We have all manners

31:05

of trapezoids out there. I also, I don't

31:07

agree with that. I know you wrote that

31:09

in there. Um, we

31:12

got to figure out a different name. It's something

31:14

trapezoid trapezoid.

31:16

They're sharing their picture with their glute mugs.

31:18

I love the glute mugs is perfect. Uh,

31:21

and their coffees from stone Creek

31:23

shared prosperity box set as

31:26

they sat down to enjoy an ungodly amount of

31:28

masters coverage. I have that entire box set behind

31:30

me. You're not going to see it. What's

31:32

your favorite brew? Do you have one out of these beans

31:35

from the box set? I'm going to pull

31:37

mine out. Two things that shared prosperity and the

31:39

vision, the vision fund is the one that I've

31:41

been doing, but I just got a nice,

31:45

nice coffee bean grinder,

31:47

uh, where I can dump

31:49

like growing up. Yeah. I can dump the whole

31:51

bag in there, just press the button and I'm

31:53

ready to go for the morning. So that's been

31:55

pretty clutch. Well, before this, you weren't a whole

33:36

worst advice is somebody gave you the you like what

33:39

the hell are they talking about and you don't up

33:41

don't have to give the person but like yeah that's

33:43

just. Said. Either didn't happen or that's

33:45

like not on our radar. Ah,

33:48

I'm. Guy.

33:52

I don't know. I think about that. Almost.

33:56

Are all my old work buddies? They told me that

33:58

idea that men there's like. there's nothing

34:00

that you do like at night anyway like you

34:02

don't have boobs you're not producing any milk like

34:04

that's when that's when you're gonna get all your

34:07

sleep because at the end of the day like

34:09

you know if you rock it during the day you'll be fine

34:11

I'm like yeah but that means like mom's

34:14

also up in the day mom's also up like

34:16

every feeding before you can like start storing some

34:19

milk around and like all this stuff like why

34:21

would you not help now

34:24

other things sleep's been an issue for

34:26

me and it's

34:28

not sleeping stuff is tough like you think like I can

34:30

hand you know I can deal I can deal with it

34:33

I'm glad that we're you know we're in

34:35

it but I don't I agree with you

34:37

I'm it's getting a little

34:39

better but yeah

34:42

that's I'm

34:44

trying to think what if there's any advice I've

34:47

gotten them like not I'm all set on that

34:49

one okay I'm good dog

34:53

I'd have to think about it let me

34:55

okay well you mentioned

34:57

your your baby Bjorn you mentioned

34:59

you know the little front carrier

35:01

thing you mentioned the the

35:04

breast friend the pillow yeah

35:06

that you also used any

35:09

other things right now they're

35:11

like oh man this is amazing it's

35:15

not really a thing I have a friend

35:17

of mine recommended I started an

35:19

email account for Peter

35:23

like I said I set up a Gmail and

35:25

just like send them send a bunch of like emails

35:27

to the kid like through through

35:29

this time period that he can like read when he

35:31

gets older I was like alright that's cool so I

35:34

did that then then I haven't sent that

35:36

many emails but I thought that was like you know almost

35:38

like a little scrapbook of like you

35:41

know send him and send us some notes on

35:43

on how cool he is and how much you

35:45

love him actually a

35:47

really good idea yeah I know I was

35:49

like oh that's fun so so

35:52

we did that and then

35:54

yeah we got it like already I was

35:56

like passport and stuff photo taken yeah I got

35:59

some of that out the way. So I'd

36:01

say that's like knocking

36:03

out some of that admin stuff has been good. You

36:06

sucking boogies? No. No.

36:10

By far maybe I don't know, maybe it was just

36:12

time of year. Our kids came

36:14

out super snotty and

36:17

the nose Frida sets as

36:20

disgusting as it is thinking back to it.

36:23

That thing absolutely saved

36:25

our lives. And

36:29

then the last thing I wanted to cover is

36:31

that I think you just become hyper aware of

36:33

the things that they say are

36:35

made for kids that you can use, but

36:37

potentially are really bad. I remember when

36:40

the twins were young, everybody

36:43

had these like giraffe gummy toys, things that

36:45

they, you know, they play with their hands

36:47

and they put in their mouth and stuff

36:49

like that. And

36:51

I remember there's a hole at the bottom of

36:54

it. So like during bath

36:56

times and stuff like that, you know, we would occasionally

36:58

play with it in the water and everything and take

37:00

it out. I never really thought too much into it

37:02

till one day we were scrolling. It

37:05

was Instagram at the time. And

37:07

of course you start being

37:09

served up a ton of parenting stuff into

37:12

your algorithm and somebody showed a picture

37:14

of that little giraffe gummy thing and

37:16

the hole at the bottom. And when

37:19

you get water in there and it never really dries

37:21

out, there was a picture of this draft cut in

37:23

half. And the inside was just

37:26

as black as you can be with mold. And I

37:28

turned to the right and looked at

37:30

them. He, as she was on the couch, just going

37:32

to town on this thing with it in her mouth

37:35

and I'm like, Oh my God, there's more points. Like

37:37

get it out of here. So we went and

37:40

we got rid of all the duckies

37:42

and everything that had any sort of

37:44

hole, uh, got rid of

37:46

almost the majority of the rubbers, the plastics,

37:49

you name it. And like, no, we can't,

37:51

we can't kill this thing. If we can't

37:53

safely boil it and sanitize it, it's

37:56

out of here. Yeah. I w you know

37:58

what that's been a, we got to. like bottle

38:00

sanitizer machine which I think has

38:02

been... You

38:05

know, I don't know any different. I haven't had to

38:07

boil anything but that's been probably pretty clutch. I

38:09

think the bottle warmer machine is

38:11

probably overrated. I think the sterilizer

38:13

is probably underrated. Okay.

38:16

I guess it all depends. What is

38:19

your guys's bottle warmer? Is

38:21

there water involved in it or is this

38:23

one of those weird microwave plate

38:26

things where you like set it on and

38:28

it just kind of zaps it? Yeah,

38:30

you put like... You put the

38:32

bottle in it and

38:34

then you put like a little bit of water in and you just like press

38:37

the button and it warms. Yeah, I guess

38:39

it's like, you know steams it until it's... Then

38:42

it comes out like piping hot. So then I have to

38:44

end up running it under the faucet anyway. It's

38:48

confusing sometimes because the bottle is

38:50

usually like super hot to

38:52

the touch and then sometimes you'll like... I remember shaking

38:54

it and putting like the milk on

38:56

the wrist and being like, why

38:59

is it cold now? But like last feeding it

39:01

was like boiling hot and you got to cool

39:03

it down. Lots

39:06

of stuff out there. Anyway, Neil, you're

39:08

doing an awesome job. Congratulations again. And

39:12

just like everyone else, I'm sure they're

39:14

like, oh, yeah, you guys ready to have the next one? You

39:16

guys... It's easy, right? Ready to go?

39:19

No, but I do see some value in

39:21

like if you're in it, you might as

39:24

well stay in it a little bit. Exactly.

39:26

Right? I think there is some truth to

39:28

that. I can... I'm

39:30

already seeing the light on like, let's just

39:32

max it out. So... Once

39:36

you're in the trench, you might as well stay there,

39:39

man. TVD on that. We're not quite there yet. Well,

39:42

good. All right, buddy. You mentioned

39:44

working out that was a goal of yours this

39:46

year. What's going on? Where

39:48

are we at? We need your Q1 update.

39:54

Okay, so good news. We're back. Maybe

39:56

It's you cutting out the booze for

39:58

a little bit. but we're back down

40:00

to one ninety baby. I'm in. were

40:03

fired up about at. Our

40:05

at one hundred and thirty nine miles.

40:08

On the year. From. For a

40:10

dragon towards my five hundred mile goal so

40:12

I think a little behind but. I'm

40:15

kind of keeping pace trying to get try

40:17

to get nine ten, eleven miles a week.

40:21

Usually it's like one. Run.

40:24

Like. For five mile run and and I'm a lift

40:26

to call. That. I combined

40:28

with the A body but you know work

40:30

out it is. T social media sites are

40:32

crazy man. I'm. Just getting I'm

40:34

get served. In. A parent

40:36

humor. Ads. Like Dad Kettle

40:39

but kettle bought dell workouts or I

40:41

how I know Elena, That's what I'm

40:43

looking for. You know, like and program

40:46

lot of lion flexibility. See, I'm like

40:48

god, dude, how old am I Like.

40:51

As a gun to you were there. It's

40:53

like okay, so your dad, you're in, your

40:55

your. Early to mid

40:57

thirties. Ah, you're working out were

40:59

serving you work out stuff you're engaging with

41:02

some of them. So. The next thing they

41:04

hit you with as like. You. Probably

41:06

have low testosterone indeed. He gets his

41:08

tested in here some light or they

41:10

have already dry clean and what is

41:12

this Know like oh low t targeting

41:14

to this is not good. Ah,

41:16

so I'm I'm happy about that. But

41:19

yeah, seeing my. Instagram. Turn

41:21

into. A. Black. Lab videos and.

41:23

Parenting stuff has been a little jarring.

41:26

I'm. Ask about that. How

41:28

was how was the reception

41:30

from Sunny when Pt cable? ah

41:32

silently care. She's City Sweets

41:34

is like. A kid he gets.

41:37

his kids are barking, but no, she's really really

41:39

really gentle. Ah and see you know

41:41

she'll come up and and. I. Can

41:44

a sniff and but not to

41:46

not like crazy interested which is

41:48

funny because Elvis, her brother my.

41:51

Inlaws Dog. We. We

41:53

sent Sunny out there for a couple weeks early on

41:56

and then we went out to pick her up and

41:58

and stayed for a couple nights and. Elvis

42:01

is like very protective of the kid. He's.

42:03

I when he starts crying like comes over and sees what's

42:05

up is like what's what's the problem, What would it was?

42:07

How can I help. And. Size a little

42:09

bit more light. Ah, Yeah, I'm I'm

42:12

I'm all set, which I thought would be

42:14

the opposite, but I deal with this every

42:16

day. Bad. so she doesn't. She doesn't really

42:18

care. But. She's quickly

42:20

becoming my dog. Ah, you know I'm

42:22

I'm up. taken around the morning, take it

42:24

out at night, Cause. A

42:27

very interesting and I are sunny

42:29

our our our. Best. Buds

42:31

now which is which has been good. She's great

42:34

to have around. Great.

42:37

Obviously. Golf. Is an outing

42:39

but I know you, you got a

42:41

big. Years. Beyond the road

42:43

a good here in a couple weeks. Yep the

42:45

up the guy they are Lupine Hearst. Trip.

42:48

Comments were maybe old belt match with

42:50

that with Benjamin so. Any

42:52

concerns that you might have lost your game

42:54

in the last couple weeks? Ah,

42:58

Yes for sure asked. You know But

43:00

I will say this. I.

43:03

My. Goal for golf this year with did not

43:05

get worse and I think you know the

43:07

handicap right now that like I think it's

43:09

a for. But. I say

43:11

I feel like it's it. As

43:13

like I can play above that level which

43:15

makes me feel good. And

43:17

I've signed up for three Met Golf

43:20

Association events. Long Island Golf says his

43:22

Met Golf says he is were try

43:24

for the public's again I have that

43:26

qualifier. In. Early May. We're.

43:28

Going to try a. I

43:31

think a New York Media qualifier. In.

43:34

Late summer and then there's the

43:36

Vr. Long. Island Amateur is

43:38

at the bridge. Which. Is pretty

43:40

hoity toity spot a minute. I

43:43

get done. Signed up for that. That doesn't what I was

43:45

A qualifier the jersey to play the bridge a couple times

43:47

so. Ah, that's an office over. So.

43:50

You. Hit up Jj for some practice rooms.

43:53

or maybe i should i should look

43:55

of up by middle of the and

43:57

b a playoffs play out loud to

43:59

do is a member out there. Also a neighbor.

44:01

He lives in the neighborhood. Lives in Carroll Garden.

44:04

Maybe he could be your new dad friend. Yeah,

44:06

probably. He's in a different phase though. I think he's

44:08

running AAU practice for his kids these days. I think

44:10

he's like reading on a brownstone. He's living a different

44:13

life than me right now. Think

44:19

of the nannies that he has. Probably multiple.

44:22

For sure. And night nannies. All

44:24

right. I want to talk about your goals because I

44:26

heard a word that you try

44:28

on an absolute workout tear. I

44:31

am. I told you. I've been very serious

44:33

about this the beginning of the year. When

44:39

we set our goals, we recorded at the beginning

44:41

of January, we went to Toura Sauce. And

44:45

I started what I would

44:47

say like, yeah, working out before Toura

44:49

Sauce. And then we went

44:51

on the trip and it's a grind, man. I think

44:54

being on the road for two weeks and

44:56

then we were at Pebble for

44:58

an additional week right after that for those live shows,

45:01

your body just gets completely ran down. And I

45:04

was like, there was a moment. I

45:06

remember when we woke up because,

45:09

you know, jet lag and everything. But

45:12

that Monday at Pebble was a

45:14

normal day, but we had two

45:16

very early mornings, Tuesday and Wednesday, to

45:19

do the live shows. And then Thursday, we had

45:21

an opportunity of the lifetime to go play golf.

45:25

You, me and TC with an awesome guest

45:27

at a golf course that I never

45:29

ever dreamed of, of being able

45:31

to play. And I remember walking out there and

45:33

kind of looking at you, looking

45:36

at TC and then really looking at and

45:39

talking to our host. And,

45:41

you know, Ethan is

45:43

his, what, probably early

45:46

60s and is

45:48

running a major company and

45:51

was talking about parenthood and giving

45:53

us parenting advice and giving

45:55

us business advice and

45:58

just like looking at him and seeing how much

46:00

he was. he prioritized his own fitness and

46:03

the way that he talked about it. And

46:05

I know everybody has said this before, but I

46:07

was like, you know what? I'm

46:10

so sick of making excuses. I

46:13

was in like the, my, my

46:15

entire previous career used

46:17

to be centered around being

46:20

in shape and being able

46:22

to react and do something every

46:25

single day at any moments notice, if

46:27

I absolutely have to. And I've, I've

46:29

let myself through injury, become

46:31

a ball of excuses and

46:33

I'm just sick of it and I realized

46:35

it on that trip and I came

46:37

home and you know, I'm, I'm

46:40

right there with you on, uh, one

46:42

of my goals was losing weight this year again.

46:44

But really it was the running and being in

46:46

the gym and just trying to get,

46:49

get my body back to like where it needs

46:51

to be. Cause when I look at myself and

46:53

when you have to watch yourself on fucking YouTube,

46:55

I'm like, that's not what I look like, man.

46:57

I'm like, that's a

47:00

good thing. It kind of holds us accountable. Like

47:02

internally where he's like, ah, damn, you know,

47:04

like where's it? And it's hard not to

47:07

like, it's just weird. I don't think

47:09

it's a self-conscious thing. I think it's very much

47:11

of like, yeah, like that's not,

47:14

I don't recognize myself in that,

47:16

like that's just not what I look like. Well,

47:18

I think there's everybody should have a healthy amount

47:20

of vanity where it's like, I don't

47:22

want to look like that. Like I want to like,

47:24

and I think you nailed it with like, like my

47:27

father-in-law is in fantastic shape. He is at the same

47:29

weight he was in as a senior in high school,

47:32

which is crazy. And I, you know, I play

47:34

tennis. I, oh, that's another goal update. I, I

47:37

lost my first match to him. Uh,

47:39

of, I want to play him 12 times. I

47:42

lost in a tiebreaker, like 17,

47:44

15 tiebreaker. It

47:46

was a fantastic match. I took the first set. He

47:48

took the second set. That's kind of what we do.

47:50

We played two sets and then a tiebreaker and he,

47:52

he clipped me in a tiebreaker. But it's like, he's

47:54

60, I think he's 67. It's

47:56

like your 65 maybe. It's

47:58

like, dude, I mean. The reason. I.

48:01

Out out how for me on the tennis

48:03

courts like that's that's the North Star right

48:05

there. Like you, we're can we in any

48:07

kids. And. I know. I

48:10

saw something recently. I got. A good

48:12

follow on Instagram: Chris Fowler, the announcer

48:14

of the whole about. And he

48:17

just like yo. If you want to move when you're like

48:19

if you think it's cool liquid you see seniors move in

48:21

and groove and. Fake. If you're

48:23

up, move in a groove and now you're never going

48:25

to be like that and it's so true. It's like

48:27

you just gotta stay active man. you gotta do something

48:30

every day. And so I am. I'm fired up to

48:32

hear that you're. You're. Back in a in

48:34

a a good routine. Yeah.

48:36

I've been it up and I started

48:38

really ah, I like lifting. I hate

48:41

running. But. In order to

48:43

to be lifted like. Be. Able to

48:45

do these workouts you want to do like you

48:47

have the also have to be in shape gotta

48:49

have audio and the fact that I was like

48:51

i despise it because number was difficult, i get

48:53

bored but also like I just think Runny is

48:56

like super lame as I you know what I'm

48:58

gonna. I'm gonna beat the sink down. And.

49:00

I've done it and we are. You

49:02

know what? Is it? April Eighteenth Now

49:05

I'm already over two hundred miles on

49:07

the you cease. And I'd

49:09

been doing this because I refuse

49:11

with i Run. Three.

49:13

Days a week. And I've been

49:15

rotating Saturday's if I'm running on

49:18

Saturday morning or from giving myself

49:20

like. A morning weren't just like plane

49:22

with the kids and if we have a heavy

49:24

soccer load that dead I'm just going arrest because

49:26

the soccer game steps are taken. A vow to

49:28

me, we got too many games on Saturday site.

49:31

says. This use your coats and. Yeah.

49:33

It's outta control. So.

49:36

I'm already above. Two hundred

49:38

miles and working out and like

49:41

lifting has been going. Very.

49:43

Very good Now used to be like up

49:45

a very hard for. Cross. Big

49:47

guy and then cross fit became.

49:50

Overly. The fact that then I

49:52

went to mountain athletes stuff and then mountain

49:54

athletes spun off and to do military athletes

49:56

stuff. and I love doing that to the

49:58

law to just. Olympic lifts. But.

50:02

Overall. Like at the end of

50:04

the day. it's it's movements. For.

50:06

Every life challenges. Is. If

50:09

if something happens, can you move from this?

50:11

from that from here to there are you

50:13

know that at home. I. Am yeah

50:15

because we have a gym. Ya know, we've We've completely

50:17

built out. The. One side

50:19

of the garage and I have everything. Everything.

50:21

That I need that I can do hear. How. At home

50:24

earlier. Are you like put not like five miles

50:26

every time you run like what's your I? I

50:28

do not run. If I'm going to run, I

50:30

do Not run less than four miles. Why?

50:32

Is that lot of. Because. I think

50:35

it's a waste if you're not because

50:37

running is like. It's. Not about calories

50:39

or anything. What I'm trying to do is

50:41

like. I. I.

50:44

Want to get to the point? Where are. Those.

50:47

Four mile minimums become like.

50:49

Eight to ten. momentum of surf. And

50:53

the longest run that I've done so

50:55

far is thirty miles. And I

50:57

actually view that as a failure because I

50:59

told myself is going to be a fifty

51:01

mile death. And. When I

51:03

got my turn around point. I

51:05

realized that it was like. Ah, seven

51:08

Point. Two miles and I. Target

51:11

took off some of the. Cut. Backs

51:13

on the way and cheated. A cheetah

51:15

myself that day. I worry a little bit on the

51:17

running stuff. About. Like didn't hurt

51:19

because I I I mean I got good shoes

51:21

and but I just it does it make a

51:24

i know is important. And

51:26

I but I don't I'm like you and on

51:28

enjoyed that much and it doesn't make me feel

51:30

that good. That's why I like mix in this

51:32

elliptical like eat. I come back from a job

51:34

and say I feel good light, Because.

51:36

I got a sweat but i my hips hurt

51:38

my knees. You know any like the not it's

51:40

not like outright pain. but his colleagues. Makes.

51:43

Me feel stiff where I'm like ah maybe

51:45

like. Allow. Some I'm sure whether

51:47

you like I don't when she had I don't go

51:49

too hard to get hurt. Is. That

51:51

why I have gotten her couple times

51:54

already but i'll the is from that

51:56

it's from the speed training so concerned

51:58

suited to increase my. to

52:00

help my golf game. On the running thing, the

52:04

military teaches you that when you're running,

52:06

the vast majority of time, you're running

52:08

in formation. So you're like, you're

52:10

running with your squad or

52:13

you are doing a team run or something like

52:15

that. And the military runs, it

52:17

was always like you had a pace

52:19

setter who always was like, you

52:22

know, the gazelle of the group and everyone

52:24

else is just trying to keep up and

52:26

you're giving like max effort out and I

52:28

hated it. And I think that's why like

52:30

I hated running so much. And

52:33

what I'm doing now is like, I'm

52:36

taking my time. I'm not in

52:38

a race against anyone. Like,

52:40

I'm not competing against anyone. I'm out there

52:42

doing it for myself. And I'm listening to

52:44

a podcast or I'm listening to a book

52:47

or something. And like, I'm just

52:50

I found this place where it's like a kind

52:52

of a very like zen in

52:54

the moment thing. And

52:56

what I've noticed is that like all the running

52:58

injuries that I use to like, your

53:01

knees getting super like not

53:03

just like sore but like hurting

53:06

all the time and tight Achilles

53:08

and your hammies and everything just

53:10

kind of starting. You know,

53:12

I'm just out there. I'm just keeping it moving.

53:15

And I'm not counting, you know,

53:17

strides or worried about paces or

53:19

anything else. Like I'm just moving.

53:22

That's not helping me to hit it down.

53:24

Not trying to hit it. You know,

53:26

I have to check myself on

53:28

this too. But like not trying to hit a certain

53:30

pace just kind of feeling good, push

53:32

it if not don't. But

53:35

my run route every single day every morning.

53:38

After the kids go off to school, I've run through

53:40

our community park and there's a ton of other people

53:43

of all different backgrounds in

53:46

their walking, running, pushing strollers, walking

53:49

their dogs, you name it. And

53:52

it's so hard because when I turn that corner

53:54

every single day, mentally, what

53:56

I want to do, well, My ego is telling me is

53:58

like, yeah, you got to pick it up. Holiday Man like you

54:01

make it through this. Trying. To

54:03

impress people and I'm like what you do it

54:05

like. People have care of our

54:07

you would you would you think is going on here.

54:09

So in the fact that I'm like. Have

54:11

been able to suppress that? Not? yep, you're just. you're

54:14

just doing it. But. I'm

54:16

also. I think

54:18

I've had. One.

54:20

Piece of bread. Since. We've

54:22

returns gamers of because they our our way of

54:24

you. Awesome And will you think? what would you

54:27

to read that do? I've

54:29

completely cut out. Like.

54:32

Breads, And

54:34

he was like twenty pounds, right? Yeah.

54:36

Like twenty six pounds

54:38

in like. Two three

54:40

months as Best wilde. Yet. Three

54:43

months. A law that says

54:45

bad fat? Yeah, A. Fantastic man!

54:47

You brought out the drinking. I

54:49

think I've had two drinks. A Not saying

54:52

that don't wanna drink, it's just not. where

54:54

are you know? This is not something that

54:56

we do around like our household sir so

54:58

you just you know you pick your spots.

55:01

Ah I haven't had anything. The spin fried

55:03

since we've. Your. Returned to

55:05

her sauce. yeah. And you

55:07

know got rid of the bread so I

55:09

got some are on the. I. Eat

55:12

My! You know I love my breakfast tacos.

55:14

Ah, Dot. Some some. Tortillas.

55:17

That it? you know, just rock and corn tortillas.

55:20

It. I. Think taste good and

55:22

in I know people have arguments out there. Good

55:24

score and in it's weird when you go through

55:26

like. Down. The Diet. Route.

55:29

Ah and would like people say it's

55:31

good for you was bad feel super

55:34

ah the I think that through another

55:36

reason. Why you use in

55:38

all those oils? It should be butter, but it

55:40

has to be this specific type of butter and

55:42

everything. and I'm just gonna do. and my saying

55:44

did. And. Watching. Ago and

55:46

feeling a hell of a lot

55:48

better about myself because I move

55:51

in and I don't feel. Like.

55:53

My back doesn't hurt me more

55:55

ice field rate. Tell.

55:58

My golf swing I brought up. injury thing

56:00

and that's because I was an absolute idiot out there

56:02

with my dumb stack

56:04

system trying to fucking, you know,

56:07

swing as absolute hard as I

56:09

could on test day. And it's just, um,

56:13

I got a lesson. I kind of tweaked my back

56:15

last week, you know, just getting a little, little too

56:17

heavy on like the RDLs, like some

56:20

of these like lifts

56:22

that's like, they're kind of tedious and you're

56:24

like, God, man, nothing makes

56:26

your hammies tighten up and you start isolating certain,

56:29

certain things with the legs and you next day

56:32

you're like, what the fuck? What did I do?

56:34

So, uh, but I think it's good. It's like, all

56:37

right, well, that must be, must be doing something right.

56:39

If we're for feeling it the next day, uh, there

56:42

are, there has been some side effects here

56:44

that I didn't think, uh, all the way

56:46

through. So couple two weeks ago, I had

56:49

a lesson that we filmed for, uh, a

56:51

video that's going to come out any

56:53

couple months. And it was

56:56

the first time that, uh, cause weather's kind of been,

56:58

kind of been crappy, but when it, when

57:01

it has been nice enough to go practice and I've

57:03

been practicing a ton, I wear shorts and it doesn't

57:05

really matter if it's like, you know, in the low

57:07

fifties, I'm going to wear shorts. But if,

57:10

if I get cold, I usually put like, you know,

57:12

a row back sweater or something like that on, well,

57:14

for some reason that the lesson that day,

57:16

it was like in the high

57:19

forties and we were filming it. So

57:21

I'm like, Oh, I got to put on pants and you

57:23

know, like, you know, you're, you're, you

57:25

got to wear stuff that matches the

57:28

sponsor that's, you know, sponsors for

57:30

us and everything else like that. And I,

57:33

without even thinking I put on clothes, normal

57:35

get up and we go

57:37

there and KJ came down to help film

57:39

Kevin Jackson. And he was like, whoa,

57:41

dude, like you've lost some weight. I'm

57:43

like, yeah, thanks man. Like, I feel really good. He's

57:45

like, no, like you're closer. Like pretty baggy.

57:48

And I'm like, oh shit. Like I

57:50

didn't think about that part of it. So like

57:53

I've had to make a conscious effort of things

57:55

that I used to get fazed out of your

57:58

apparel. That's impressive. The

58:01

things that used to get sent I'm like, Ooh, those are

58:03

a little too tight. Like maybe just like you just wear

58:05

that in the summer because you know, you're gonna, you lose

58:07

a little bit of weight in the summer and everything else

58:09

like that. Now that small selection

58:11

of clothes is like my normal selection

58:14

of clothes. Yeah. But I'm

58:16

excited next week we're on the road. Me

58:18

and DJ and Casey are going to

58:20

do something really, really cool that that

58:22

focuses around like fitness and getting your

58:24

body to move and being in the

58:27

proper positions and stuff like that. And

58:29

I'm very, very excited to see like, you

58:31

know, people who do this for a

58:34

living and being like, yo, this effort and the

58:36

work that you've been putting in and not just

58:38

like losing weight, but also like, I'm

58:40

gaining muscle. I know that at the same time, I

58:42

just had plenty of fat that I had to lose.

58:44

Sure. And like once your diet

58:46

is dialed and you're actually moving, like that goes

58:48

away real, real quick and like feeling

58:52

stronger because I truly do feel

58:54

stronger. You know, you just made me

58:56

think about something. I know

58:58

my barometer is always like 190 like

59:01

weight, but I think a new way to think about it is

59:03

like, you know, something

59:05

that I should be pretty proud of is

59:07

I still, I haven't changed my size of

59:09

pants or shirt. Like

59:14

since 2012, you know, since I like lost

59:16

weight from football, basically, it's like, all right,

59:18

how long in my life can I like

59:21

the life goal, the North Star should be

59:23

like, don't ever, don't ever be anything but

59:25

a medium shirt. Yeah. Like can

59:27

we, can you, how long can you do

59:29

that? Right? That, that's

59:31

a, that's a, I'm going to write that one down.

59:34

It's so funny because when

59:36

I played during tour

59:39

of sauce, Carolinas, like

59:42

I was very normal Cody. And

59:44

from, from that moment, I remember

59:47

when I first started at no laying up and I'm

59:49

like, you're like, Hey, yeah,

59:51

you know, go grab some shirts and every, you know,

59:53

here's your code to the, to the pro

59:55

shop, grab what you need. And I was

59:57

like, Oh, great. And like the first order that I put in.

1:00:00

in was for medium stuff. And

1:00:02

I remember it came and I'm like, Oh, like this doesn't,

1:00:04

this doesn't fit, right? It's very like tight. And

1:00:07

that was when like my back stuff was really going

1:00:09

on and I wasn't moving at all. And

1:00:11

I remember how hard it was

1:00:14

like getting my mind around like

1:00:16

ordering largest. Yeah. And

1:00:18

I've at the time I justified it

1:00:20

because I'm like, Oh, these sizes are

1:00:23

just wrong. Doc, you man, these guys

1:00:25

always have a slim fit bullshit. Yeah.

1:00:27

And then you like realize like, Oh

1:00:29

man, that is me. Yeah. What are

1:00:31

we doing? So I'm finally out of

1:00:33

that phase of my life. And

1:00:36

you know, I don't want to go back to that because

1:00:38

I want to be the dad that they can go out

1:00:40

there that one of the kids when I get on the

1:00:42

slides and I like, you're fat like Peppa Biggs dad, you

1:00:45

know, because that was a hit me right in the heart.

1:00:47

One of them actually said, Oh, good. I'm glad he did something

1:00:49

about it. Hell yeah.

1:00:52

Speaking of all this stuff going on. It's

1:00:54

tourists all season. This isn't an ad, but

1:00:56

for everybody, please go check out tourist sauce.

1:00:58

If you haven't already, it's up on YouTube.

1:01:00

If you're a nest member, we got some

1:01:03

additional behind the scenes content up on no

1:01:05

laying up calm. Make sure you're

1:01:07

signed in there with your nest username, information.

1:01:09

And if you're not and you want to check it

1:01:11

out, join the nest man. We're

1:01:13

trying to push out some more content for everybody there.

1:01:17

And it's it's been a ton of fun, but

1:01:19

successful launch I'd say so far. Yeah,

1:01:21

I think I

1:01:24

think it's our most organized just to, you know,

1:01:26

peek behind the scenes of like we come back we

1:01:28

got all you know, new toys, like

1:01:30

better cameras like big operation this this

1:01:33

time around season nine. But

1:01:35

I think better organization I think we have

1:01:37

like, in years past, you know, we'll

1:01:39

go get all this footage and then outside

1:01:41

of like the episodes that we put out, we

1:01:43

don't like do anything with the like

1:01:46

the photography or the, you

1:01:48

know, the bonus stuff. And I think finally,

1:01:51

we're we're getting the supplementary content

1:01:53

stuff dialed. And I think there's a ton of

1:01:56

value. There's a lot of fun to be had with

1:01:58

that, like making little reels trailers

1:02:00

and pictures and stuff. So I'm happy

1:02:02

about that. One thing I

1:02:04

think... The processes, man. I want to expand

1:02:06

on that a little bit. Our processes are

1:02:09

finally dialed. What you're meaning there is like

1:02:11

that footage, it would all be like

1:02:13

basically on a series of external hard

1:02:16

drives. And we'd be like, okay, this

1:02:18

day is going to be episode one.

1:02:21

All that stuff goes to whoever

1:02:23

is editing that day. And like, that's just

1:02:25

kind of where it's at. Now

1:02:28

we finally have processes in place where

1:02:30

it streamlines it and makes it available

1:02:33

to every vertical of our

1:02:35

company. So social people can

1:02:37

go in there and be like, oh, yep, I can

1:02:39

pick into day one, seven and 12 because

1:02:42

we know all that stuff's tagged in there.

1:02:44

And it's good to go because on the backside

1:02:46

of it, you and I, obviously

1:02:49

the stuff's paid for it. And we got

1:02:51

to provide stuff back to our sponsors. It's

1:02:54

made life so, so, so much easier. And

1:02:56

it seems obvious and simple, but it's really,

1:02:58

if you don't set that

1:03:00

stuff up, like we spent a lot of time

1:03:02

in the fall setting up a new Dropbox environment

1:03:04

and it seems obvious like, oh yeah, put

1:03:07

it in the cloud. But it's like, man, you got

1:03:09

to organize it because all these

1:03:11

clips are named like DCI 9964256.move. It's

1:03:13

like, who knows? In

1:03:18

five different subfolders, finally get down to

1:03:20

it. And

1:03:24

it's, it's not that easy. And I think

1:03:26

it's, it's something a long time ago, like

1:03:28

we've, this is our second or

1:03:30

third try at this. We had a whole like

1:03:32

mainframe system for a little while that we

1:03:35

outgrew. And I remember,

1:03:38

you know, years ago when we were trying to, to

1:03:41

do this organization stuff the first time, it's

1:03:43

like, I asked around a different organization,

1:03:45

like some production firms that we've

1:03:47

worked with and like, how do you guys do

1:03:50

this? It's like, oh, everybody's just like mailing hard drives to each other.

1:03:53

It's wild because it's like, nobody has that

1:03:56

figured out. And so when

1:03:58

you're kind of solving your own problem and you start

1:04:00

to see it work, it's very, very rewarding. Especially

1:04:03

in a remote environment like we are,

1:04:05

like it's a lot of the things

1:04:07

that I think we struggle with sometimes

1:04:10

are not issues for other companies, just

1:04:12

because like, yep, you're at like,

1:04:15

you have an office and you have

1:04:17

a storage, you

1:04:19

have storage solutions that are like, yeah, the

1:04:21

racks are in the basement. Yes, like this

1:04:23

is the main computer that, you know, pushes

1:04:25

everything out through whatever, you know,

1:04:28

internet that you have set up that all

1:04:30

of you guys are plugged into. And

1:04:32

you can just dial into one thing. But when you're talking

1:04:34

about, you know, multiple states, countries, you

1:04:36

know, we have patties over in Northern Ireland,

1:04:38

got to dial into this stuff. So you're

1:04:41

talking about firewalls, permissions, you

1:04:43

name it, it gets difficult.

1:04:46

Which is which is great. The other thing

1:04:48

about Torus sauce, I find interesting. You

1:04:52

know, you read, you look at the, you look

1:04:54

at the forums, yeah, which is awesome that people

1:04:56

are like talking about our stuff. But it's

1:04:58

like, I think there's an equal amount of

1:05:00

people. Like everybody

1:05:03

wants Torus sauce to be like catered to what they like

1:05:05

about it. And I think there's an equal

1:05:07

amount of people on like two sides of either

1:05:09

side of the fence. It's like, man, I wish

1:05:11

these guys would lean more into the travel, the

1:05:14

vlog, the going to a

1:05:16

faraway place as a group of friends and like,

1:05:19

who did you meet along the way? And, you

1:05:22

know, what dinners did you eat? And then there's

1:05:24

an equal amount of people have like, I hated

1:05:26

the Scandinavia season because there wasn't enough golf and

1:05:28

competition. And they didn't show me like a hole

1:05:30

by hole. And I'm like, nothing bolts of shot

1:05:32

by shot. And it's like, I laugh because I'm

1:05:34

like, you know, not you take

1:05:36

that stuff personal, but you're like,

1:05:39

man, you're

1:05:42

trying to thread that needle where like, I

1:05:44

think episode one, definitely, it's a

1:05:46

set, it has to set up the whole season. So it's

1:05:48

probably airs on the travel

1:05:50

and, you know, the

1:05:53

buddy's trip side of things, but it's like,

1:05:55

you know, kind of sometimes I want to

1:05:57

jump to the computer screen at like some

1:06:00

random comment or like, dog, give it's

1:06:02

eight episodes. Give me, give

1:06:04

me three weeks until the match play

1:06:06

stuff starts. You know, like God, man,

1:06:08

like just have a little perspective on

1:06:10

like this kind of these seasons

1:06:13

exist as a, as

1:06:15

a full unit, like there's like, yeah, there's like

1:06:17

a narrative arc to each episode, but there's a

1:06:19

narrative arc to like the whole season too. And

1:06:22

sometimes, and maybe we overthink this

1:06:24

stuff. It's like, uh, I, what I struggle

1:06:26

with. It's like, oh yeah, people just, we

1:06:28

do because we, we should, and it's vloggy,

1:06:31

show me every shot, like boiled down to

1:06:33

nothing, but Cody, like, I don't really want

1:06:35

to make that, you know, like that's

1:06:37

the problem. It's like at some point

1:06:39

then it's like, well, then what are we even doing this

1:06:41

for like, cause then it just becomes like really transactional and

1:06:43

I don't really want it to be that. So, um,

1:06:47

yeah, you can't please everybody, but I just, I thought that was a

1:06:50

perspective I had this morning kind of, you

1:06:52

know, reading some of the feedback. You

1:06:55

know, I think we make it first and

1:06:58

foremost, like we, we make it to what

1:07:00

our, our mission statement is to inform and

1:07:02

entertain. Uh, it's not going to

1:07:05

get in check every single person's

1:07:07

box, but it's something that, that

1:07:09

we were very, very proud to put out there.

1:07:11

And I think the

1:07:14

people, and I know that's a very

1:07:16

much a YouTube thing right now, where it's very

1:07:18

hot to just go out there and be like,

1:07:20

yeah, we're, we rocked up at new South Wales

1:07:22

and it's, you know, one V

1:07:24

one or two V two. And like, I

1:07:26

don't, that's not our thing. And

1:07:29

we'll have some of those videos that are out there, but

1:07:32

that's not like what this destination trip

1:07:34

is. That's not what tour sauce is.

1:07:37

Yeah. It's like, I also, yeah,

1:07:39

it's like, why, yeah. Why don't you guys

1:07:41

just do things like other people? I'm like,

1:07:43

I don't know. Like that never, that

1:07:45

doesn't seem like a good idea long-term. Like,

1:07:48

just make it look like what the other guys are doing. I

1:07:50

don't know. Because I, that, that doesn't,

1:07:53

I don't, anyway. So yes,

1:07:55

but I'm very, very fired up for the season and I'm,

1:07:57

I'm proud of, I'm proud of what we're putting out. And

1:08:00

I think for a lot of those comments people

1:08:03

obviously because they're watching it and it's right in

1:08:05

front of him But I do think we have

1:08:07

a very Long

1:08:09

and established track record of if that

1:08:11

is not what you're looking for right

1:08:14

now out of an episode Just

1:08:16

look at at the macro for a little

1:08:18

bit and realize that you know we're gonna

1:08:21

get to the end when it's back to

1:08:23

match play and Everything

1:08:25

is there and it's shot for shot mono

1:08:27

e mono And and if that's what you're

1:08:29

looking for straight up golf, you're

1:08:31

obviously gonna get it But there's why

1:08:33

would you not also want to watch and

1:08:36

enjoy? you know

1:08:38

a group of people go into places that they've

1:08:40

never seen before and experiencing things because Those

1:08:43

are the questions that we get all the time.

1:08:45

It's not about hey, you know, obviously it's

1:08:47

like was this golf course awesome Cool. What

1:08:49

did you think? Yeah, but it's also like,

1:08:52

you know How did you guys get there and

1:08:54

what did you do and where did you stay and

1:08:56

where did you eat at? And I think that's like

1:08:58

that's why I love tourist sauce so much Yeah,

1:09:01

me too and I I want to

1:09:03

make it so that we want to keep doing it Instead

1:09:06

yeah, like let's travel the other side of the world

1:09:08

and like make you know Just

1:09:11

18 whole match play videos doesn't sound

1:09:14

as as much fun Neil

1:09:16

a couple news and notes before

1:09:18

we get out of here You

1:09:20

brought up our new cloud computing

1:09:23

solution a little bit worried there

1:09:26

There's some things going on right now. Do you know what? Do you know

1:09:28

what the Do

1:09:30

you know what the FISA court

1:09:32

is I don't Okay.

1:09:35

So basically that is the

1:09:38

United States surveillance program started by

1:09:41

President George W. Bush with the entire

1:09:44

goal of being

1:09:46

able to surveil companies

1:09:50

That might have foreign Adversaries

1:09:53

or really terrorists or bad individuals

1:09:55

coming in because it's illegal. You

1:09:57

cannot you cannot spy on us

1:10:00

companies. What I

1:10:02

want to say and where this ties back into cloud computing is

1:10:04

that all these rules in

1:10:06

the courts, they used

1:10:08

to be able to go and you would submit stuff

1:10:10

to the court and you could get a warrantless approval

1:10:14

in order to go in to check people's

1:10:16

cell phone records, whatever else, as long as

1:10:18

they're not US citizens, but there might have

1:10:20

been spillage. There might have been, hey on

1:10:23

one end it's a foreign person

1:10:26

calling to a US citizen

1:10:28

and of course the US citizens

1:10:30

information is getting picked up

1:10:32

just because of that's how it works. This

1:10:35

was before big cloud computing and everything

1:10:37

and storage centers came

1:10:39

up. I'm proud to say that finally

1:10:42

like your guys at Google, the

1:10:44

team at Meta, all these

1:10:46

big tech companies are standing up

1:10:48

because the Biden administration is

1:10:50

pushing hard right now for

1:10:53

an expansion of section 702 which

1:10:55

covers that. It would add two

1:10:57

more years to a wiretapping law that's

1:11:00

specifically under 702 and they tried

1:11:04

to front-run it. They tried to do

1:11:06

a little Friday afternoon quick vote on

1:11:08

it and people were prepared, people

1:11:10

were ready, they stood up and said no no

1:11:12

no no you guys can't you're not

1:11:14

gonna sneak this one through on us. Bipartisan

1:11:16

support doesn't matter where you're coming

1:11:18

from. It was awesome to

1:11:20

see people actually stand up and realize

1:11:23

like wait a second all this

1:11:25

warrantless stuff and what's been going on

1:11:27

is probably not the best thing in

1:11:29

the world and no

1:11:31

you can't just like dive into

1:11:33

Google's massive data warehouse and

1:11:36

just rummage through whatever you

1:11:38

want. Which is great but

1:11:40

however I've been very very

1:11:42

disappointed in like not

1:11:45

disappointed but like the the AI

1:11:47

stuff is alarming of like open

1:11:49

AI and Google just like scraping

1:11:51

every YouTube video and Wikipedia basically

1:11:53

probably using our podcasts to

1:11:56

train their AI models and

1:11:58

have you know really really stretching the

1:12:02

definition of fair use where

1:12:05

it's like, oh cool, let me just like go

1:12:07

and get the answers to

1:12:09

all these questions so that nobody will ever have

1:12:11

to visit a website ever again. Well,

1:12:15

I would say if that is a big concern

1:12:17

that we need, you know, we

1:12:19

kind of sign that away to all

1:12:21

these hosting services that we use. It

1:12:23

doesn't matter if it's a podcast or

1:12:25

it's video, I would say why aren't

1:12:27

we looking at distribution on nolayingitup.com?

1:12:32

Because it well, it's yeah, and you

1:12:34

know, you're right. It's dual edge

1:12:36

sort because that's you can't fight where the

1:12:38

audience is. Exactly.

1:12:40

So aggregation is a powerful

1:12:42

thing. But I think there's some

1:12:44

shady stuff going on where like, you know,

1:12:47

so open AI like there's a lawsuit in

1:12:49

New York Times is suing open AI for

1:12:51

basically training its

1:12:53

models on its archive, which is I think, like

1:12:56

a very fair lawsuit. Yes,

1:12:58

turns out that open AI has been,

1:13:00

you know, basically scraping every YouTube video

1:13:03

for the last two years. And

1:13:05

it sounds like Google knew about this didn't do

1:13:07

anything about it, because they were also doing

1:13:10

the same thing to train their models, so

1:13:12

they didn't want to get outed for

1:13:14

being shady as well. So it's like, that's

1:13:17

when I'm kind of like, damn, man. But

1:13:20

yeah, it's a it's a it's

1:13:22

a tough, tough problem. Something

1:13:24

to monitor also something to monitor. I hate seeing

1:13:26

you know, my formal

1:13:29

associate the Google taking over executive

1:13:31

office spaces to protest. You

1:13:34

know, the treatment

1:13:36

of people in Gaza. I don't

1:13:38

know, man, I feel like the

1:13:40

private businesses bringing

1:13:42

the politics into the workspace is tough one.

1:13:44

And sometimes I feel like it does

1:13:48

more harm than good for what

1:13:51

could be a legitimate, you know,

1:13:53

argument of a like demanding a ceasefire

1:13:55

when you like have a

1:13:57

sit in and the CEO of

1:14:00

Google Cloud's office and

1:14:02

you cement yourself to the Golden Gate

1:14:05

Bridge. Like, I don't

1:14:07

know if that's – there's got to be

1:14:09

a better way. Maybe there's not though. I don't know.

1:14:11

Maybe nobody's listening. That's the only way

1:14:13

to get anyone's attention. But it seems to just like cause

1:14:17

people to resist

1:14:20

your argument even more when you do it in

1:14:22

that fashion. What

1:14:24

Neil is talking about there is

1:14:26

a couple days ago, nine Google

1:14:29

employees were removed by police from

1:14:31

companies offices in New York City

1:14:33

and Sunningdale, California after

1:14:36

staging an hours-long sit-in

1:14:39

protest against the

1:14:41

cloud contract with Israel's

1:14:43

government. This has so

1:14:45

much similarities to when I

1:14:47

was on the other side of this during

1:14:49

Project Maven. I don't know if you ever

1:14:51

remember Project Maven at all,

1:14:54

but that was when

1:14:57

you guys were using

1:14:59

basically cloud storage for the DOD. And

1:15:02

specifically for our ISR

1:15:04

assets and being able

1:15:07

to store thousands and

1:15:09

thousands and thousands of hours of drone

1:15:11

surveillance footage that we would go back

1:15:14

and look at here. But I

1:15:16

agree with you. It's very hard. It's

1:15:19

a hard thing to do because at the end of the

1:15:21

day, no matter what

1:15:23

you do, you can't take away somebody's rights

1:15:25

and some of these amendments. I

1:15:29

don't know. I think it's something

1:15:31

that a lot of companies, you see it with

1:15:33

– I think Starbucks has

1:15:35

probably been hit the hardest here overall

1:15:40

stock-wise on them making

1:15:43

a decision and being very publicly about it.

1:15:46

Because I know – my wife works with a

1:15:48

ton of tech companies and no

1:15:52

matter – again, it goes

1:15:54

back to the Israel-Gaza situation

1:15:57

with both Palestinian

1:15:59

companies. Americans and Israeli

1:16:01

Americans and at most

1:16:03

companies that you walk into specifically in

1:16:05

the tech space, you're going to

1:16:08

have a mix of both. And

1:16:10

you cannot make a decision on it, but

1:16:12

at the same time, this is their, their

1:16:14

history, their lineage and things that

1:16:17

they're discussing with their friends, their families,

1:16:19

most of the time, their coworkers, because

1:16:21

people are naturally curious people and want to

1:16:23

know people's views about it. But

1:16:27

it's just, it's, it's a crazy situation. Probably

1:16:30

don't need to be protesting stuff like that though.

1:16:32

There's probably other ways that you

1:16:34

can, you can get your point across there within

1:16:37

the workspace. Yeah. One thing I do want to

1:16:39

shout out 60 minutes

1:16:42

has been absolutely on fire

1:16:44

lately. I love, love

1:16:46

the Havana syndrome segment follow up.

1:16:48

We're back. We're back, man. I

1:16:50

mean, sounds like we are, like,

1:16:54

we've got some bad, bad

1:16:56

actors that are throwing electromagnetic

1:16:59

pulses at people around the world.

1:17:01

Yeah. So yeah,

1:17:04

it's crazy. I know that

1:17:07

I can't, so 60 minutes

1:17:09

ran with it, but New York Times

1:17:12

did this big, big original investigation about

1:17:14

Havana syndrome, obviously coming from

1:17:16

the Cuba embassy a couple years

1:17:18

ago. And then the

1:17:20

report came out that basically, like, because

1:17:23

there's a lot of state department

1:17:25

and agency employees that

1:17:27

I think there was other people

1:17:30

that got involved that were trying to take advantage

1:17:32

of the situation. And they did the

1:17:34

government tried to do a really good job of like stomping

1:17:36

it out and being like, this isn't a thing. Just

1:17:39

move on. This is not a thing. And

1:17:41

thank goodness that there's actual

1:17:43

journalists that are out there. And

1:17:46

you have programs like 60 Minutes were like, wait

1:17:48

a second. This is really

1:17:50

fishy. Now, like, we have

1:17:52

legitimate people who we've sat down, we've

1:17:54

looked at medical records. We've been able

1:17:56

to trace this thing back to multiple

1:17:58

different consulates and these across

1:18:01

the world and now

1:18:03

all of a sudden the government is saying like

1:18:05

this isn't the thing that's not possible. So

1:18:07

thank you for bringing that up and

1:18:10

realizing that this is a lot more

1:18:12

vast than anybody ever expected it to

1:18:14

be with multiple foreign adversaries involved in

1:18:16

it. Yeah. Uh,

1:18:18

anyway, I would highly recommend trapezoids

1:18:21

go and check out that 60 minutes segment.

1:18:24

And then the other one last week after the

1:18:26

masters, they had a Tasmanian tiger segment, which I

1:18:28

loved big, big that has some

1:18:30

Taurus sauce tie ins, but I've always been a

1:18:33

big Tassie tiger guy. Uh, they're

1:18:35

trying to basically like Jurassic park, the

1:18:37

Tassie tiger back to life. And then

1:18:39

you've got these like, you

1:18:42

know, Tassie tiger obsesses that are just down

1:18:44

in Tasmania and out in the Bush, just

1:18:46

looking for, you know, looking for

1:18:49

Tasmanian tigers. And it's, it's an,

1:18:52

it's an awesome love, love the

1:18:54

search for extinct animals. Big

1:18:56

fan of that stuff. I got to dial

1:18:58

that one up in the, I love the

1:19:00

best thing about 60 minutes too. Like if you just go

1:19:03

to YouTube, they put everything up there

1:19:05

and they put them in their segments and

1:19:07

they do an awesome, awesome job of curating

1:19:10

like exactly what you're, what you're looking for.

1:19:13

So bravo to them on that, which most like

1:19:15

these big, you know, networks, they don't have to

1:19:17

do that. They can be like, yo man, you

1:19:19

got to go find this like on demand on

1:19:22

whatever provider that you use and try to

1:19:24

fight through that whole process. And they're just

1:19:26

serving it up because they truly want the

1:19:28

information out there. It's great, great to see.

1:19:31

A couple other things before we get out of

1:19:33

here. First time ever,

1:19:35

a direct Iranian attack on

1:19:37

Israeli soil. Not

1:19:40

good. There are multiple munitions,

1:19:42

multiple, you know, hundreds of drones going

1:19:44

on. This is a really, really big,

1:19:46

big thing. But

1:19:49

Iran knew exactly what they were doing

1:19:51

and hit like basically the

1:19:54

biggest softball targets that they possibly

1:19:56

could. What I would call this and I

1:19:58

said it from the get go. When

1:20:00

we're talking about it last weekend, this was a show of force

1:20:03

They picked exactly where they're like, oh we're

1:20:05

gonna send these munitions in this direction because

1:20:07

the Iron Dome and other Anti,

1:20:11

you know anti weapon systems are going to

1:20:13

be able to take care of this They're

1:20:15

gonna get massive amounts of kudos and support

1:20:17

at home And all

1:20:19

this is gonna do is force

1:20:21

the US decision with

1:20:24

what Israel continues to

1:20:26

do and act foolishly on the

1:20:29

Gaza side and the anti

1:20:32

Shia movements to the north via Hezbollah

1:20:35

in Lebanon as well as Syria and

1:20:38

all this is gonna do is It's

1:20:40

pinching the United States that

1:20:42

is what's gonna happen is that Iran is

1:20:44

gonna threaten another attack and The

1:20:47

United States is too afraid to say something to Israel to

1:20:49

get them back in line So

1:20:52

we're gonna end up conceding something to

1:20:54

Iran to get them to stop Because

1:20:57

nobody wants World War three to happen. So

1:21:01

Which sucks So

1:21:03

yeah, you you call this out in our slack that

1:21:05

like, okay, they're telegraphing this this is a show of

1:21:07

force The two things stick out to me here one

1:21:12

Just the concept of like a like

1:21:14

a fleet of drones Just

1:21:16

being sent out and

1:21:19

I and when it was happening like, you know Hey,

1:21:21

they interrupted us during the Masters to let us know

1:21:23

this was going on. I was like, oh, okay Kind

1:21:27

of bleep, but it's like okay they launched

1:21:29

a like 300 drones that are just like

1:21:31

slowly making their way across Iraq and that

1:21:33

and then Jordan and like It's it's just

1:21:36

this like armada of of Unmanned

1:21:38

drones like slowly rolling

1:21:41

across a long distance that

1:21:44

feels like a very new thing But

1:21:46

then the flip side of it is like what a tough

1:21:48

problem to solve because I saw a stat Maybe this is

1:21:50

right or wrong, but it was like yeah

1:21:53

to shoot all those drones down That

1:21:56

those drones cost like, you know a couple

1:21:59

thousand bucks 10,000, 20,000,

1:22:01

they're pretty cheap, but

1:22:04

it costs like a billion dollars of

1:22:06

iron dome, so

1:22:09

much strategy and equipment to shoot them out of

1:22:11

the sky. And it's like, yeah, okay. So nothing

1:22:13

happened, but it was like, oh

1:22:15

man, there's a massive imbalance there in what

1:22:18

like missile and drone defense costs versus

1:22:20

like what it costs to send that

1:22:23

fleet of drones out. So it

1:22:25

was like a problem or

1:22:28

a tough problem to solve moving forward.

1:22:31

Welcome to the last 25 years of

1:22:33

the US foreign policy. We

1:22:35

have guys out there wearing flip

1:22:38

flops with rocket,

1:22:42

most of the time rocket launchers that

1:22:44

don't even have munitions in them just

1:22:46

running around while Americans and our coalition

1:22:49

partners are out there flying multi-million

1:22:52

dollar helicopters with the goochiest equipment and

1:22:54

every with night vision and everything. It's

1:22:56

like your guys skit. All

1:22:58

right. Yes. What's the comedian?

1:23:00

God, what's his name? The Netflix guy.

1:23:02

Shane. Yeah. Shane

1:23:05

Gillis. Yeah. Shane Gillis.

1:23:07

You guys are tough. You know,

1:23:10

it's tough. You know, it's brave

1:23:12

is fighting flip flops. Exactly.

1:23:15

All right. There's, it's crazy. And this

1:23:17

is like, we're,

1:23:21

we're in a real bad situation because

1:23:23

if you look at it historically, anyone

1:23:25

that like, that has

1:23:27

gotten into a conflict that we

1:23:29

have provided some sort of military

1:23:32

or like armament support,

1:23:35

whether that's been through gifts

1:23:37

or through procedures, most

1:23:39

of the time in 10 to

1:23:41

15 years following that, it's

1:23:44

completely broken down and there's US troops on the

1:23:46

ground. Sure. All

1:23:48

right. We have this tendency of

1:23:50

picking the wrong people to support.

1:23:52

Well, I wish a lot

1:23:54

more emphasis could, could be looked at

1:23:57

what's actually going on like in.

1:24:00

these United States of America's instead

1:24:03

of like the shiny object over

1:24:05

there. Like we've just got, we're

1:24:07

so the, the post world

1:24:10

war two, uh, like

1:24:13

still mindset of being like the

1:24:15

world's police and trying to go

1:24:17

like push our overall will and

1:24:19

way of life on people just

1:24:21

is, it's kind of like run

1:24:24

its course. All right. And, and I

1:24:26

think there's like, there needs to be a drastic

1:24:28

wake up to what we're actually

1:24:30

doing foreign policy wise,

1:24:33

because we're just in this place now where

1:24:35

it's like, we used to be

1:24:38

able to get away with that because everything at

1:24:40

home was dialed in and

1:24:42

very safe and secure and stable.

1:24:45

And now like we're just not at that place

1:24:47

anymore. Yeah. Just taught that's

1:24:49

a tough transition though, or else you leave

1:24:51

these vacuums of, you

1:24:53

know, like power vacuums that like,

1:24:57

I don't know. I mean, it's tough,

1:24:59

like it feels like the, so what

1:25:01

Israel assassinated

1:25:03

some guy at the Syrian, some

1:25:06

Iranian due to the Syrian embassy and, and

1:25:08

this fleet of dryer was,

1:25:10

yeah, a revolutionary guard

1:25:12

general. So the reason why is

1:25:14

that, um, you know, Iran

1:25:17

is, it doesn't conduct

1:25:20

too many direct operations via

1:25:22

its revolutionary guard, their IRGC.

1:25:25

But what they do is that the IRGC

1:25:27

goes out and, uh,

1:25:29

trains, uh, supports via,

1:25:32

via everything and

1:25:34

then maintains these proxy forces across the

1:25:36

world. And that's what you see that's

1:25:39

happening in Yemen. That's happening, uh,

1:25:41

in Syria, it's happening in Iraq.

1:25:43

And specifically that's what Hizball is.

1:25:45

Yeah. So while, you

1:25:48

know, Israel is, is trying

1:25:50

to defend their homeland after

1:25:52

their, horribly,

1:25:55

horribly attacked by Hamas. All

1:25:58

right. In Gaza. What

1:26:01

happened is that Hezbollah at the same

1:26:03

time started firing rockets south back into

1:26:05

Israel and Israel caught itself playing like

1:26:07

a two pronged war

1:26:09

here. And then they quickly realized

1:26:12

like, oh my goodness, this is like

1:26:14

direct IRGC things. We can track these

1:26:16

generals. They tracked him down to the

1:26:18

location where he was operating at the

1:26:20

highest IRGC general that was outside of

1:26:22

Iran at the time. He's operating

1:26:24

out of this, you know, Iranian

1:26:28

facility in Damascus, fired

1:26:31

rockets out of them and then

1:26:33

for retaliation Iran shoots back directly

1:26:35

into Israel. What's

1:26:39

up with your boy, the King of Jordan right now? He's

1:26:41

like he was chilling, man, these drones.

1:26:44

I mean, that guy, of course, depends, huh? Well, he is. He's

1:26:47

the ultimate power broker. He tries

1:26:50

to middle every table that he's

1:26:52

at while trying to

1:26:55

wave through this conflict. I mean,

1:26:58

he's a bordering, his country

1:27:00

borders everybody that we're talking to

1:27:02

here. And at

1:27:04

the same time, he's the person who the

1:27:07

US and most Western countries put the

1:27:09

most pressure on to be like, yo, President Abdullah, like, go,

1:27:11

man, go, go. Like, we need you out there like doing

1:27:13

this. And he's like, yo, man, I'm just trying to protect

1:27:15

myself. Yeah, I

1:27:17

know. While I clean up your guys's

1:27:19

mess from fucking Iraq and Syria, now

1:27:22

you got this all stuff going on. The

1:27:24

US is providing financial and

1:27:27

military support on both sides of this

1:27:29

conflict now, still to Israel, which we

1:27:31

should, long-term partners. I

1:27:34

understand that, everything there, but also

1:27:36

still providing and supporting humanitarian aid

1:27:38

drops into Gaza via

1:27:41

this, you know, man-made docking

1:27:43

operation that we have going on. It's

1:27:46

just a mess. And at the

1:27:49

end of the day, you know, I

1:27:51

don't know. It's hard to see

1:27:53

what the endgame is here for any of this. My

1:27:57

question is this, is like how – And

1:28:00

this is so – this is – I don't know. We're going

1:28:02

to be outside our depth, but I

1:28:05

just wish that Israel could get to a point

1:28:07

where we could – like, we

1:28:10

could get a ceasefire. I would love

1:28:12

to get the Gulf states involved, the

1:28:15

UAE, Saudi Arabia.

1:28:18

They feel like they hate Iran. And

1:28:22

so it's like there seems to be

1:28:25

like a sliver of light there if you could

1:28:27

get some of the Muslim

1:28:30

states to play

1:28:32

ball because

1:28:35

Iran feels like they're the ones that are fucking everything

1:28:37

up. And it's like –

1:28:39

I don't know, man. I just feel like you got

1:28:42

a country like Jordan, but it's

1:28:44

like then – man, it's just we

1:28:46

can't seem to get – it

1:28:49

seemed like they were close with before the October

1:28:51

7th stuff to Israel

1:28:55

and the Gulf states having some type of diplomatic

1:28:58

relationship. And

1:29:00

then things were heading in the right direction, and then that attack was probably – that's

1:29:02

probably exactly what happened, right, of like, okay, let's

1:29:04

just like piss

1:29:07

in the pool and ruin everything. Yeah,

1:29:10

I mean there's a lot more support

1:29:12

there that might not be front-page news

1:29:15

all the time. It's

1:29:17

just also hard for anybody in the Arab state to

1:29:20

agree and support anything Israel whether

1:29:23

they – he didn't really

1:29:25

disagree with the

1:29:27

fact that Israel is a thing in the first place. Sure. You

1:29:30

know, they're like this is not a

1:29:32

thing. You took this land from

1:29:35

– it just shouldn't be there. It's

1:29:39

like maybe things

1:29:41

become less about –

1:29:44

less religious and more like

1:29:46

kind of Western geopolitical

1:29:48

– like sure,

1:29:50

like there's – you got sour grapes.

1:29:52

There is. There's still a trilateral agreement

1:29:54

between Saudi Arabia, Israel, United

1:29:57

States. It might not

1:29:59

be completely overt. and put on the front page

1:30:01

of every headline there, but they're

1:30:03

definitely working together. An enemy

1:30:06

of my enemy is, you know,

1:30:09

you find friends when you need it most. But

1:30:13

I don't think any, none of those people want to jump up

1:30:15

and down and say, like we're we're

1:30:18

standing with Israel. I know.

1:30:21

It just won't happen. God,

1:30:24

it's so fucking depressing.

1:30:26

Anyway, we're not going to have problem. Here's what

1:30:29

I want to tell you something before we get out of here. I

1:30:32

want we there New York Times released a

1:30:34

new serial podcast about Guantanamo Bay. I

1:30:37

have not listened to all of it. But

1:30:39

I listened to the first episode and I'm very excited

1:30:42

to talk to you about about Guantanamo

1:30:45

and yes, and that podcast. So

1:30:47

we will tease that for next

1:30:50

time. Yeah, next month

1:30:52

we'll dive in and talk all things

1:30:54

serial podcasts and what they got down.

1:30:57

Mr. At your boy, Mr. X. Well,

1:31:00

yeah, we'll see how deep we

1:31:02

go into the true specifics

1:31:04

of it there. But yeah, we'll talk about

1:31:07

it. So people, if you haven't listened, go

1:31:09

check out serial. I

1:31:11

love it, too. It's some great, that's

1:31:13

good work. But but also like funny,

1:31:16

good stories of like they're they're such

1:31:18

they're produced so well. They're easy to

1:31:20

fall on to. That's

1:31:23

it, Neil. We got it. We

1:31:26

got it in another month down. Congratulations again

1:31:28

on the new parenthood.

1:31:31

You're rocking it, buddy. Don't let anybody

1:31:33

tell you differently. And

1:31:35

we'll get back to normal normal scheduled

1:31:37

programming next month. Yeah, we'll see you

1:31:40

next month. Thanks for listening. Yep,

1:31:42

sure. Hey, hey, hey,

1:31:44

hey, hey, hey, hey. I'm

1:32:00

dead, right over the eight nine,

1:32:02

that's why I kept that strap.

1:32:04

Yeah, remember night, remember night, remember

1:32:06

night. I damn knew it was

1:32:08

great, I had to get it

1:32:10

right. I'm your

1:32:12

favorite rapper, favorite rapper. Hey,

1:32:15

I'm your favorite rapper, favorite rapper.

1:32:18

The absolute joke, yeah, no joke.

1:32:20

Who me? I'm merged with the

1:32:23

track.
