0:39
In decades past a story born of sailors lost at sea, The jagged Zig Zag path through rocks steals many souls with glee.
0:45
The tale is told of one man who survived his crewmates' wreck,
1:01
surviving on the crumbling rocks, spine broken at his neck.
1:10
Hunched on the docks, the Zig Zag man, his body bent and thin. His legs aside his torso,
1:22
a fishing hook held grin.
1:27
His crewmates in the lifeboat saw his body in this state, alive for sure
1:35
but only just, they abandoned him to fate. Five days he lay in agony among the hooks and nets,
1:48
each minute he spent cursing those that left him should regret.
1:57
Do you know the Zig Zag man? Have you heard of him?
2:02
The man who stands beside himself, his flesh devoid of skin.
2:13
As each day passed the seabirds came and pecked his body raw, the sight of eyes torn from his
2:24
face would haunt you to your core. To keep him sane he sang his songs until they took his tongue,
2:37
his cries and screams became a groan from perforated lungs.
2:47
Have you heard the Zig Zag man? Have you heard him sing?
2:53
His shanties echo on the waves the rolling fog will bring.
3:02
As finally his end approached the cloud descended low,
3:09
the waves came crashing, washing out, delivering their blow. When mist had cleared the rock was bare,
3:21
No sign of suffering. But zigzag rocks take yet more lives, and take them all for him.
3:33
Have you felt the Zig Zag Man? His hooks inside your skin,
3:40
a fishing spear inside your spine, as maggots crawl within.
3:49
Where beacons shine and flares burn bright your good will must impress! Whenever ships at sea today
4:01
neglect cries of distress, be sure he knows. Beware the mist and look after your crew,
4:12
the Zig Zag Man will show his hand and cast his net for you.
