Over the past year or so on social media, many of the “experts” have been jumping up and down telling you about the importance of storytelling. Every single day I see a blog post or interview claiming that if you learn how to tell a good story, your life and business will change for the better.

The truth of the matter is that storytelling and the persuasive power found in a good story is nothing new. Lawyers have been using stories for centuries to argue their client’s cases and convince juries to find in their favor. Trial lawyers have always known that telling a good story to a jury is simply one of many important arrows in their persuasion quiver.
