Think about the last presentation you watched or gave. How many times did you want to spray a magic mist over your face and body so that others would see someone other than the real you? Along the same lines, how many times did you want to spray someone else with magic mist so that you’d be more comfortable watching or listening to them during their presentation?
When you’re in the audience listening to a presentation, don’t be too quick to judge. Listen with an open mind and an open heart. There’s always value in most messages, so digest what is being said. Make sure to walk away from the experience with new information or maybe a different perspective on the subject or topic.
At the end of the presentation, how many times did you wrap things up feeling just like Percy, Annabeth and Tyson at the end of the movie? After you listened to the message and got to know the other person better, you felt a strong connection. You ended up the respecting and liking the other person just the way he or she was.
For those of you responsible for presenting a message, regardless of the size of your audience, stand tall and look through your Cyclops’ eye. Share your message from the heart. Be real, transparent and genuine. Don’t even think about using your magic mist. Instead, leave the bottle back at your haven camp.
