This was going to be a kind of routine Weekend conversation… nothing heavy. Some whining about the unnecessary semi-annual time change, some idle chatter about the election. And then Elizabeth Crudup called about 30 minutes to showtime. It seems there was a bit of a dustup in Graham between some people who were holding a ‘get out the vote’ rally and the Alamance County Sheriff. She had two people who wanted to get the word out about what happened.

Scott Huffman is a candidate for US Congress from the 13th District, including Alamance County. Shon Green is a ‘full time activist’ and PR rep for People for Change. They were both there, and described a scene out of the Old South, with police confronting a totally peaceful group of citizens with tear gas. There was no vandalism going on. No broken windows. Nobody throwing fireworks.
