An important info that was not mentioned is that voting is compulsory in Brazil and those who abstain are fined/jailed. As a significant percentage of Brazilians are poor, they can’t afford to get fined on principles ground. I don’t that Brazilians had choice when they had to choose between 2 candidates, both of whom were not ethical competent. The Indonesian massacre in 1960s was news to me and the investment of western so called democratic nations in 3rd world communities often deemed barbaric and uncivil which require guidance is ironic. ”Jakarta Method” has good ratings on GoodReads and is on my To-Read list.
