The parable of Lazarus and Abraham in Luke's Gospel teaches about the continued existence of the soul after death. The beggar Lazarus is carried by angels to Abraham's bosom, where he is comforted, while the wealthy man is tormented. The parable was a satire meant to rebuke the Pharisees, Sadducees, and other Jewish leaders who were wealthy but unrighteous.

Abraham's bosom refers to the blessings of the covenant given to Abraham and his descendants, both spiritual and material. This includes the Northern House of Israel, who were scattered throughout western Europe and heard the gospel through Joseph of Arimathea and the Apostle Paul.

The rich man in the parable represented the Pharisees and the ruling class of the Judah nation, who traced their lineage back to Abraham. The Northern House of Israel, represented by Lazarus, came to believe in the one who died and rose from the dead, Jesus Christ.

The parable teaches that the dead, represented by the stones in the Bible, may appear dead but are children of Abraham and can be raised up by God. The Bible teaches about God's plan for his people, Israel, through the Old Testament and allows the Bible to interpret itself.
