Are we seeing the revitalization

0:05

of conservative civilization? All

0:07

over the world, there's been a massive backlash

0:10

against globalization, its leftist

0:12

leadership and its anti-cultural

0:15

liberal values. And it's

0:17

just the beginning. I'm Dr.

0:19

Steve Terling. I believe the liberal globalist

0:21

world is at its brink and a new

0:24

conservative age is rising. Join

0:27

me every day as we examine

0:29

these worldwide trends, discover

0:31

answers to today's toughest

0:32

challenges and together learn

0:35

to live in the present in light of even

0:37

better things to come. This is

0:40

Terley Talks.

0:48

Candace Owens was on Tucker Carlson

0:50

last night to respond to the latest bombshells

0:53

thrown at her from none other than

0:55

her co-worker Ben Shapiro. Is

0:58

there a civil war erupting inside

1:00

the Daily Wire? Well, that's exactly what

1:02

we're going to find out. Hey gang, it's me, Dr.

1:05

Steve, your patron professor here to help you think

1:07

better so you can feel better in these crazy and

1:09

turbulent times if you haven't done so. You know what to

1:11

do. Make sure to smack that bell and

1:14

subscribe button. Also, I do want to prepare

1:16

you all for this Friday at the

1:18

end of this week, I'm sharing some really

1:20

exciting news about something I've

1:22

been working on for some time now. And

1:25

if you're on my email list, you'll read

1:27

about the announcement even sooner. I promise

1:29

you, if you're a top fan of this channel, you're

1:32

going to absolutely

1:32

love it. You're not going to want to miss this. Tucker

1:36

Carlson invited Candace Owens on

1:38

the show last night to respond to a viral

1:41

and visceral video of Ben Shapiro

1:43

saying this. Yes, the

1:46

question is about Candace Owens.

2:00

I think that I think

2:02

that her supposed sophistication on these

2:04

particular issues has been ridiculous.

2:07

And that's what investigation is ridiculous. Everyone

2:09

can see the move that she's making, the things that she's saying,

2:11

and I'm incredible. Maybe there's a point

2:13

in the video where he explains what exactly you did wrong and

2:15

how you were wrong. I haven't seen it.

2:18

But to call somebody, quote, absolutely

2:20

disgraceful, particularly a co-worker, seems like a pretty

2:22

big step. And I really don't know the background

2:24

here. What is that about?

2:26

You know, there isn't much of a background. I

2:29

saw the video when everybody else saw it when I woke up. No

2:31

one warned you about it. Nobody warned me

2:33

about it. It looks like maybe he didn't know he was being recorded.

2:35

It looked like it was some sort of a private

2:37

event. I got no clarity on

2:39

the issue that he was particularly speaking on. And

2:42

in what was said,

2:43

I also can't

2:46

respond to it beyond what he's

2:48

saying because it's just at home in attacks. I don't

2:50

know. Because it's not, you know, we disagree

2:52

or I don't think she's correct. Or Mayshia's know what she's talking about.

2:55

It's absolutely disgraceful. Yeah,

2:57

exactly. And so I can't respond

3:00

to it on a level of intellect because there's

3:02

nothing that he has expressed in that, at least in that short

3:04

clip, that he fundamentally disagrees with in

3:06

terms of what I said. But I will say that

3:09

I'm not going to respond with the same at home in an attack. I

3:11

don't think it helps further discussion. And if that

3:14

was me that was caught on a

3:16

video saying that about colleagues that I work with,

3:18

I would be embarrassed. I would. So

3:20

I think that the video speaks more to Ben's

3:22

character that speaks to mine. Does

3:23

he text you to apologize for explaining or

3:25

anything?

3:26

No, nothing. I haven't heard a single word. It just

3:28

was sort of something that he said. And you

3:30

know what? Ben, I have my disagreement. So I don't think

3:32

that that's particularly something that's interesting.

3:35

We disagreed on the covid vaccine. We disagree

3:37

with Ukraine and Russia. He has taken virtually every

3:40

stance that has been the opposite of mine on every

3:42

issue over the last five years. So I don't

3:45

think that that's particularly

3:45

remarkable. Really didn't remember that. Yeah,

3:47

he was pro the covid vaccine. I was anti the

3:49

vaccine. You know, we were all idiots for not getting the

3:51

vaccine. So that's totally fine. I am

3:54

totally open to people having a difference in opinion. I

3:56

would hope that amongst colleagues that it would

3:58

always be. Civil disagreement

4:01

and I would never in a private event stand on

4:03

a table and talk badly about Ben.

4:04

I would say it's a little weird So he was on the left

4:07

on those three biggest issues of our time is

4:09

what you're saying

4:10

Wow All right, so Tucker has a penchant

4:12

for being able to effectively Frame

4:15

things in terms of their big picture their

4:17

context and what you just heard him say there

4:20

is So when it comes to the three

4:22

biggest issues of our time COVID big pharma

4:24

and Ukraine

4:26

Ben has consistently positioned himself

4:28

on the left with regard to all those issues,

4:31

which is true

4:32

That is the context that I think is very important

4:35

for understanding precisely why Tucker

4:37

and Candace are chatting here. There

4:39

is something Fundamentally problematic

4:42

about Ben Shapiro's so-called Conservatism

4:45

that these two are calling out Hey

5:41

5:44

below right now So

5:46

we say three steps back and give us the context

5:49

for this debate. How are you on different sides

5:51

of it? But I haven't heard you endorsing

5:53

Hamas with your no. No, well,

5:55

I have not endorsed Hamas

5:57

in any way And yet people have interpreted

5:59

things that I say or actually rather

6:01

things that I don't say, it's becoming

6:03

very much reminiscent to me and why I have used my platform

6:06

to say this of Black Lives Matter, where if

6:08

you don't say anything, they say your silence is violence.

6:10

If you say something and it's even handed and it's nuanced,

6:12

which is to say, you know, during the times of

6:14

Black Lives Matter, you might say, I don't

6:17

support police brutality. Who does? I don't

6:19

support racism. Who does? But also

6:22

I think that police are crucial part

6:24

of every city. We need to have policing

6:27

in cities. So these calls to defund the police

6:29

are immoral

6:29

and wrong and are going to lead to

6:31

more Black deaths. People didn't want that nuance.

6:33

When Black Lives Matter, following George Floyd, there was no nuance. You had

6:35

to explicitly say defund the police, had

6:38

to post to Black Square. If you didn't post to Black Square

6:40

on Instagram, by the way, specifically on the platform

6:42

Instagram, and you

6:44

maybe were busy that day, maybe you were in another

6:46

country, you know, maybe you just

6:48

didn't log on to Instagram. You were accused of

6:50

being a racist. I'm seeing a lot of that

6:52

behavior right now when it comes to

6:55

the Israeli-Palestinian conflict that I

6:57

have seen every single person, including myself, condemn

6:59

what happened on October 7th because who wouldn't

7:02

condemn terrorism, it's all right, who would

7:04

not condemn innocent Israelis dying. But

7:06

if you then say that it is also sad when an

7:08

innocent Palestinian child dies, suddenly

7:11

this is pro-Hamas, or you

7:13

need to say, even when you're talking about

7:15

how sad it is that a child dies, you need to button

7:17

that statement by saying, put that child with a human shield.

7:20

That's not going to be my response. Of course,

7:22

not as a mother. That's not going to be my response as

7:24

somebody who is about to give birth when I see

7:26

these images of children involved on

7:28

both sides of the conflict. I've pointed to the people

7:31

that are mocking dead Israeli children and said

7:33

that they are horrific. I am even keel

7:35

on this matter. And yet people think that

7:37

you need to be extreme. All right.

7:39

So that's a very interesting

7:41

point that Candace is bringing up here,

7:43

drawing comparisons with the BLM

7:46

frenzy, the summer 2020. Now

7:48

back then, when the riots first broke out

7:50

and you heard phrases like silence is compliance

7:53

and all that obvious nonsense. I

7:55

introduced my viewers to a concept known

7:57

as radical perspectival.

8:00

which is a fancy-schmancy way of referring to

8:03

a point of view that assumes

8:05

that one's perspective represents

8:08

reality in its absolute sense.

8:10

So radical perspectivalism conflates

8:13

one's own point of view with a totalizing

8:15

picture of reality. And so if anyone

8:17

diverges from your point of view, well,

8:19

they're diverging from reality itself.

8:22

And in the hands of the woke, that divergence

8:25

deserves to be canceled. What

8:27

Candace is saying here is that seemingly

8:30

without realizing it, Ben, in

8:32

adopting and embracing a comparable

8:34

radical perspectivalism, he's

8:37

actually on the same side as the very BLM

8:39

activist he so viscerally decries.

8:42

He's exemplifying the very radical perspectivalism

8:45

that we see coming from the BLM types of

8:47

the woke left. There's no basis

8:49

for dissent. The more imperative here is so

8:51

momentous that any dissent is in

8:53

self-compliance with moral evil. But

8:56

according to the BLM and according to Candace,

8:57

that's Ben Shapiro right now.

9:48

That's

9:56

wrong. I think these are meaningful questions that deserve to be answered.

9:58

Why was this? sort of verbiage allowed

10:01

into the curriculum. I mean, could you imagine if in the curriculum

10:03

it said that every Jewish person born

10:05

is a terrorist. This

10:08

is systematically what has been said.

10:09

I would be totally opposed to that.

10:11

In your learning this, not even just by the

10:13

way, at the college campus level in high schools, I've covered this

10:15

on my show at high schools, that they are now allowing

10:17

children to sit up in an auditorium during

10:20

not Black Lives Matter week, during what is February,

10:23

African, hold month of February,

10:25

African-American month. I'm totally black

10:27

history month. I was like totally black. I'm like, what

10:29

is February? Black History Month. They were

10:31

allowing at this very elite school, $50,000 per a month to attend

10:35

to the school, per year to attend the school for

10:37

these children to stand up on a stage

10:40

and yell in an auditorium. Black

10:42

kids were allowed to be on the stage. White kids

10:44

were sitting down at this elite school and

10:46

they said, you don't know what we lived through. You don't understand

10:49

what, how your whiteness impacts me. This is

10:51

going on in New York City

10:53

right now. That is explicit anti-white racism

10:56

that is happening. And I covered it on my show

10:58

extensively. Nobody cared. There was no bus

11:00

calling these kids anything wrong. And

11:02

so trying to explain that of why

11:04

people maybe are not reacting with

11:08

the amount of vigor that you would like to see

11:10

is now being interpreted as anti-Semitism.

11:13

All

11:13

right. So Tucker and Candace are taking on

11:15

the donors, right, of Harvard and Columbia

11:18

who are pulling out their money out of these

11:20

institutions in response to the pro-Hamas

11:23

activities that they're seeing on those

11:25

college campuses. And both Tucker

11:26

and Candace are asking a,

11:28

wait a minute now,

11:30

where were you over the last 10 years

11:32

when these very same students and faculty

11:34

were saying the very same things, but

11:37

directed against whites and supposed white

11:39

suppression, particularly during the BLM fanaticism.

11:42

Where were you then? Why

11:44

are you only pulling your money out now?

11:47

It's this disproportionate response

11:50

that both Candace and Tucker are calling

11:52

out. So where's that coming

11:54

from? Well,

11:56

it's coming from a dynamic that scholars

11:58

such as Michel Mafisoulis refer to. is

12:00

neo-tribalism. It's a trend happening

12:02

all over the world where more and more

12:04

populations are realigning around regional,

12:07

racial, and or religious identity. Now

12:10

on the right, this is generally happening with the MAGA

12:12

movement and the America First rallying

12:14

cry, this nationalist civic nationalist

12:17

form of tribalism.

12:19

But on the left, we're seeing a radically racial

12:22

form of neo-tribalism like BLM

12:24

or La Raza among Latinos and

12:26

Candace and Tucker are pointing out, you know,

12:29

it's that

12:30

it's this proportionate response, disproportionate

12:33

moral outrage on the part of Ben Shapiro

12:36

that suggests that he's unwittingly embracing

12:39

the very racial, ethnic tribalism

12:42

that is itself characteristic of the cultural

12:44

Marxist left.

12:46

Instead of saying, you see, this is why we need to

12:48

protect America's borders. This is why

12:50

this precisely. No, instead, Ben

12:52

is, you see, this is why we need to protect

12:54

Israel's borders.

12:56

The intensity of Ben's support and

12:58

fidelity and loyalty to Israel

13:01

and the Jewish people appears

13:04

frankly disproportionate to

13:06

a comparably, well frankly, soft

13:09

support and fidelity for America and the American

13:11

people.

13:12

For right or for wrong, that is both

13:14

Candace's argument, Tucker's argument.

13:17

It's an argument that I do believe has

13:19

integrity and it's one that ought to

13:21

be deliberated, debated,

13:24

but

13:24

certainly not callously

13:26

dismissed.

13:28

Hey gang, I know what it's
