Sound is all around us and often times we don't know the behind-the-scene source. This podcast will surprise you every single time. If I could give it six stars I would.
@20korg deserves to be more popular. Very well produced. Some episodes blow my mind. The rest are just delightful. The more I think about this, the more I'm sure @20korg should be mainstream popular. They find such compelling people to interview and edit narration and sound that draws you in. I hope it's more popular than I realize
I've only been listening for about six months but fell in love on my first episode. Dallas and the whole team at Defacto know how to tell a good story and keep you listening. Thankfully the sound design studio does great sound design!
Sound design! What could be better?
One of the best shows I've listened to. Consistently fascinating topics that are presented in an organized and interesting way and are very well-researched. This show really shines in the audio quality, though, which isn't a surprise considering it's produced by an audio company. The voices and music sound incredible, even on the cheapest earphones. Truly remarkable. Worth listening to for sure!
I work in film and theatre and love hearing the stories sound and how it shapes our world.I listened to the Deep Note episode in the room the note was created in, way cool.
One of my top 3 favorite podcasts. Dallas and the crew have a passion for sound, and it shows. Absolutely a must if you enjoy 99pi or similar podcasts.
One of my 'go-to' podcasts about all things audio. Sweet.
One of my absolute favorites. A podcast about sound design made by sound designers. If you are a podcaster yourself, you should be listening to this one.
Best show about sound. Ever.I'm a loyal listener and even subscribe to the ad free/supporter version of the show.Twenty Thousand Hertz has told me the stories behind the Wilhelm Scream, Amen Break, the "You've Got Mail" guy, and even that Baby Shark song.My favorite, of course, is 808. If you like to know how sound works - and what's literallly caught our attention - then you'll love Twenty Thousand Hertz.
Each episode is just so darn interesting and flawless in production. You can listen to this podcast and just immerse yourself in the world of sound for a while- it's both an escape and a meditation in itself. I love how it is not in interview format, and in my mind is best practice in storytelling. If I had a team, I'd love to use sound and storytelling the way these guys do, and I keep it in mind when storytelling and creating a sound space in my podcast (even though I am an absolute beginner).Go listen to the Star Wars episode!
I've been listening to this podcast from the beginning after it aired on 99 Percent Invisible. This is one of the most beautifully produced podcasts out there while also extremely clear and concise with its storytelling. The rich sound design always serves the story. The episode on the evolution of accents has a spot in my Hall of Fame list. Highly recommended.
Their voice acting episodes are the greatest ❤️??
Dallas and the team have put together a very earnest and wholesome exploration of sound, in the NPR tradition. Some of the stories are fascinating explorations into parts of the world we take for granted. As they've taken story submissions from further afield, they've been able to tackle more unexpected topics, and if you're cool with collaborations and cross-posts from other podcasts, you might find you'll be introduced to some other new shows that offer a similar approach to storytelling.
Created an account here just to rate this podcast (but obv, might stay for a while). I love this show. Always insiteful, and It's the podcast that I show to all my friends. Oh and Dallas Taylor just seems like a cool guy. Up there on a list of "people I would grab a beer with."
Possibly the best podcast covering the wide ranging subject of sound. Fascinating topics galore and, as it couldn't be any other way, an excellent audio and overall production.
Intriguing, well crafted, and thoughtfully told stories about the sounds around us. Highly recommended!
It seems like this content is just so fitting to the medium of podcast and it is simply done so amazingly well, super recommended !
Top-tier production with really interesting topics. I highly recommend it for anyone interested in sound or just design in general.
The most ideal podcast ever as its sole purpose is to be heard and make you aware of the listening experience.
