Famed actress Lauren Bacall was not just another pretty face. She was a founding member of the original rat pack, for God's sake. As an actress and model in the 1940s, she somehow navigated the world of male directors, actors and producers with humor, grace and aplomb. She did that by focusing on her work and learning from her rock of a husband, Humphrey Bogart.
