Niels Ras (CIR'22) talks with Mark Schauerte, IOP Career Development Director, in the latest episode of the IOP Career Corner podcast.

Mark joined the IOP in 2021 after serving as chief of staff to Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (IL-08). Prior to that, Mark practiced law as an attorney in Chicago and was a journalist based in Illinois.

Niels and Mark talk about careers and advice Mark has for students looking to forge a path into public service.

Mark received his B.A. in history from Yale University, his M.A. in journalism from the University of Illinois at Springfield, and his J.D. from the University of Notre Dame. He was reared in Peoria, Illinois and lives in the Chicago suburbs with his wife and son.
