Today I ask for your consent. We are discussing what consent is, how to establish it and making clear that, like money in the bank- consent can be withdrawn at anytime. In Black communities so many things are non-consensual that we accept them as normal. Micro violations of your consent can lead to your compliance in bigger violations of it. From an early age we are taught that our bodies are not ours, we are told what to wear and how to carry ourselves. by a society that still struggles to see us as human beings with rights like anyone else.  However, Consent should not be such a gray area in life but studies still show that Men and white people are still having  a hard time sorting it out. Women still are losing their voices when taking their power back. From strangers to familiars, there is a line that must be drawn and a conversation that must be had on consent.
