Kanak Tiwari and Nilesh Rajyadhaksha are the Project Coordinators of Master Plan Delhi, 2041 at NIUA. In this episode, 'Understanding the Future of Developing a Master Plan’, with Kanak Tiwari and Nilesh Rajyadhaksha, we explore and understand the process of developing a master plan for Delhi, 2041.

In the second part of the episode, we discuss the intent of the implementation framework and how does it capture a 20-year long plan timeline with various checks and balances. This is followed by a discussion on the financial outlays, capital investment plan, and accountability framework to be considered in the MPD 2041. We further explore the key learnings that can guide the planning process in other Indian cities and the different skillsets required to develop the master plan for Delhi. Lastly, we end the episode with a discussion on mobility as the backbone of this master plan and how the plan focuses on reducing GHG emissions in a long run. The master plan also draws attention to public spaces and people’s safety & security.
