Welcome to this week in Underwire where we are highlighting our Toronto favs. Sorry, not sorry, rest of Canada! We got to sit down with the wonderful host of FemRadio, Emily Joveski, and the two co-founders of Temper Tantrum, Carly and Caitlynn.

FemRadio is a weekly feminist podcast that tells the stories of rad women. They are on iTunes or you can check out their website for their archive.

Temper Tantrum is a curated multi-vendor online marketplace that supports self-identifying women artists who are creatively outspoken. They sell art that is readable, wearable, stickable, and awesome!

We also shout out the campaign to save Sistering’s Inspirations Studio, the Coalition Against White Supremacy and Islamophobia, Drunk Feminist Films, Equality Buttons for the TTC, and the Nightwood Theatre.

Finally we induct Tarana Burke, the activist and creator of the now viral, trending, and hopefully instigator of real change Me Too campaign into the League of Extraordinary Women.

Music in this episode:

  • Sweet Disposition by The Temper Trap (see what I did there?)
  • Christine by Christine and the Queens
  • Formation by Beyonce
  • Know Yourself by Drake
  • New York by St. Vincent off her new album, Masseduction, featured in this here eppy
