This show is so much fun. It reminds you how to feel awed by the boundary between what we know and what we don't. Unexplainable stands among the greatest science communication podcasts like Ologies with Alie Ward, Science Vs., and Rutherford & Fry.
A very well-produced podcast about the edge of science. Very cool to hear what we're still figuring out! If you're into science, it's absolutely worth a listen. I keep it in my feed and tune into the odd episode that catches my attention.
I enjoy Unexplainable because it teaches me easy lessons on topics that are not typically found on my normal daily paths. I follow politics so I LOVE being pulled away from politics. I also have schooling in science which probably explains why I like learning about new topics to explore. I just listened to the AI podcast and the grievance of animals podcast. Love learning about everything!
As the title suggests, the podcast delves into a variety of subjects science hasn't quite been able to fully explain, or that are yet unexplored. The show highlights these subjects in a light, low-key way that is accessible for listeners without even a modicum of scientific understanding. The upside of that popular approach is that it might evoke interest in science. It's the kind of show you could easily listen to with your kids. Perhaps it might just spark their curiosity, maybe (hopefully!) they'll even consider a career in science. The downside of course, particularly at this point in time, is that it could further distrust in science. And that would be a real worry.
Unexplainable delves into the questions we've always had, yet never found an answer for. The team address subjects that are, on the surface, rather boring and complicated for casual listening with a fine balance of scientific investigation ans relatable translating. You never fail to come away from an episode not feeling enlightened - even if the answer remains a mystery, you still learn more than you ever imagined needing to.
Good podcasts about unexplainable things but not really.
