Fucking fantastic! The team are intelligent, funny, and most importantly, extremely well researched. Thanks for keeping this little truckie entertained!😘
Oh my God, I love these guys. You definitely need this podcast in your life: balanced, open, extremely well-informed, clear, inclusive, very forthright and with highly polished production (I got you, Manny & 99), all delivered with humility and humour. They take on and unpack the big topics to make them accessible and understandable - they have opened my eyes to so much that I was woefully ignorant of.I challenge you to listen to the first episode and not want to hear more - if you don't, well, you're just wrong.100% recommended, not just for US listeners and long may it continue. #FMF #FRM - listen to the show to understand. Here endeth the review.
What's dark money? How are indigenous people getting screwed while seemingly being given special privileges? Who's the fascist: Trump or... Obama? And who is Milton Friedman and why do I hate him, as should you? UNFTR is wonderful, informative, and entertaining podcast that has enough to please and piss off everyone on each side of the aisle. And they present resources in each episode if you would like to further research each topic, from shout outs to other podcasts, journalists, and authors.
I am confident that by an extremely wide margin this podcast is the very best one available. Every episode is no less than a masters level thesis, with a sound argument, buttressed by brilliant interpretations of relevant seminal sources. This podcast is necessary because many of the issues unpacked here need this kind of investigation since many of the challenges that need un*ucking aren't exactly floating on the surface. Yet the patterns persist to this day, often without any remedy to un*uck them. I'm on my own quest to un*uck the racial inequalities in Fresno California's criminal justice system. Here in Fresno, the trends are similar to the rest of the country, where we lock up more of our black and brown community then South Africa at the height of apartheid. I'm hoping to shine a local spotlight on a national story. I simply cannot imagine a reality where my project exists without you guys. Our only recourse remains conversations such as these and Manny, 99, and Max could not possibly be praised enough for there spectacular, consistent, and heroic efforts to build a space where we might all meet each other where we are.
This podcast has a way of filling in the gaps of whatever they cover (mostly socio-economic issues). While our American education may give us broad strokes, UNFTR gets into the why and how of things. For example, knowing what Reagan's "supply side economics" focused on can be helpful in debating it's merits, knowing the Milton Friedman (eff-Milty) and Chicago School of economic underpinnings of it allows for the ability to prove not only it's ineffectiveness but the logical failures of it's core tenants. The weekly main episodes are fantastic lessons, supported by the research they openly share. The Show Notes episodes can clarify some things and are a great way the Unf*cking community interacts with the pod. The new YouTube channel has enjoyable bite sized info blasts that are as informative and enjoyable as the rest of the UNFTR content.Jump on in to find out why Unf*ckers say #FMF, #FRR, #AllHailNettie and where to find the et al. Max, 99, & Manny Faces put out fantabulous content. Give a listen and become an Unf*cker today!
So many things to love in this podcast ! (came to it courtesy of Best of the Left)The research and energy are stellar,The production is top-notch,The humor is f*cking great,The community is building up (substack),A reliable highlight in my week. #FMF
Excellent and well researched discussions on current events and their historical context.
I started listening to UNFTR about 3 weeks ago. It came as a recommendation from a friend (you know, word of mouth is the best way to transmit anything...). I started with the lastest episode at that time and was hooked! I now have started to binge from the beginning, and I will say, that's the best way of listening. It's fun to hear what has come true and piece together what was happening at the time. I can't wait to catch up in real time and than feel sad as I will only get to listen to 1 at a time (I could just listen to old episodes...). Great work and keep it up!
This is an insightful, well researched, deep dive into what led us to the current mess we are in. The team has a great way tying historical threads together so you can see how different people and events tie together to form unholy alliances. Sometimes dark, sometimes light-hearted, this show is never dull, and I always leave a podcast knowing more than I did at the beginning.
This podcast is the best of its type, no question. If you don't listen to UNFTR you are doing yourself a disservice and impoverishing society by wilfully choosing ignorance.
