For those of you who are the best of the best, the brightest of the bright, the star athlete in high school, the one voted most likely to succeed, the victor in every challenge, we have good news for you: God can still use you.

You see, God has a habit of using the most unlikely people to accomplish His mission of saving the world. All throughout the biblical narrative, God tends to pass over the strong and powerful in favor of the ordinary, the unconventional, and the unexpected.

Join us this summer as we take a look at eight unlikely heroes from the Old and New Testaments. Their stories show us God can use the outcast, the unwanted, the passed over, and the unlikely in heroic ways. God can use our past and present stories—no matter how ordinary—for the manifestation of His kingdom here on this earth.

We may be the unlikely heroes, but God is the Hero. All we really have to do is show up.
