Last week we released a first season episode that has remained one of our favorites even after 9 years.  This week, a brand new episode that instantly became one of the best episodes ever recorded. Taped only days ago at Skankfest 2017 in New York City, Ron Bennington sat down with comedian Ari Shaffir and the hour is so compelling. Ari talks about growing up Orthodox, his life-changing decision to leave the community and "come out" to his parents that he didn't believe in God, and his move out to LA where he spent years broke and working at the infamous Comedy Store.  Whether he's talking about his family, telling stories about the legendary Mitzi Shore or his decision to throw his cell phone in a drawer and head to Southeast Asia for months- Ari's stories are fascinating.  Shaffir is a master storyteller and the hour flies by.  Make sure you listen to the end-- before wrapping up, Ari gets emotional talking about his rift with Comedy Central, and his decision to leave the show he created and nurtured - This is Not Happening- after the network removed him as host of the show. You can not miss a minute of this hour, recorded on June 26, 2017 at The Creek and the Cave in Long Island City.
