Welcome to Unpacked Podcasts

0:03

with your host leadership consultant

0:05

, ron Harvey of Global Core Strategies

0:07

and Consulting . Ron's delighted to

0:09

have you join us as he unpacks and

0:11

shares his leadership experience , designed

0:14

to help you in your leadership

0:16

journey . Ron believes that leadership

0:18

is the fundamental driver towards making

0:20

a difference . So now to find

0:22

out more of what it means to unpack

0:25

leadership , here's your host , ron

0:27

Harvey Good afternoon .

0:29

This is Ron Harvey , the vice president and the chief

0:31

operating officer , global Core Strategies

0:33

and Consulting . We're a leadership firm

0:35

based out of Columbia , south Carolina , and

0:37

all of our work that we spend we've been doing for the last

0:39

10 years is really helping leaders develop

0:42

the skill sets , the emotional intelligence to

0:44

take better care of the people that they're responsible

0:46

for and responsible to . Everything

0:48

that we do is about leaders taking care of their team at the

0:50

end of the day , and so we're super excited

0:53

and we love it . What we learned over time

0:55

is people wanted to know how we did it , so we created a

0:57

podcast called Unpack , with Ron Harvey , and

0:59

what that is is allowing us to ask real leaders

1:01

, real questions from across the globe . None

1:04

of the questions are prepared . I'm not sure what I'm going to ask

1:06

our guests . I'm not sure how they're going to respond

1:08

to it . What we do promise you , though , is we

1:11

will talk and be transparent and

1:13

be real . We will unpack something

1:15

that's going to be useful for you , so hang on with

1:17

us for the next 20 minutes as we get into

1:19

it . So I'm excited to have our guest with

1:21

me is I have Cedric Layit , who's

1:24

on here with us , and he's out of Georgia . So

1:26

, cedric , thank you for saying yes , thank

1:28

you for being risky enough to know . Not know any

1:31

other questions , but yet you said yes anyway . So

1:33

thank you for taking that risk with me . How much like

1:35

to introduce yourself . What would you want our audience to know about you ?

1:38

Yeah . So first of all , thank you so

1:40

much for having me on the podcast and some honor

1:42

and to anyone that is listening

1:45

. You know , just take a seat

1:47

. I'm pretty sure Ron has a

1:49

great track record by talking to

1:51

guests such as myself , so we're going to be open

1:53

, transparent , things like that . So that's the first

1:56

thing I want to say . So about me . So

1:59

I am known as the trucking

2:01

king . I have been

2:03

in trucking for a long

2:06

time now . I started learning

2:08

about it back in the early 2000s

2:10

and I actually started my own business

2:13

in trucking my first trucking business

2:15

about 15 years ago . So I

2:18

learned a lot . I was out there blood

2:20

, sweat , tears , just myself

2:24

and just going through the mud so I was able to learn

2:26

a lot and by that I

2:28

was able to take all of that knowledge

2:30

, experience and all of the tools

2:33

and things like that , and I was able to help

2:35

a lot of other people across

2:37

the United States .

2:39

Wow , sweat equity . That's when

2:41

you got out there . You roll them sleeves up , you dive

2:43

in you start doing the work and I'll tell you , it's

2:45

great to have a degree , but that's what

2:47

equity means something . So you put the time

2:49

in yes .

2:51

Yes .

2:52

Yeah , and you think about it . I mean , I

2:54

looked at your bio and phenomenal information

2:57

and what I try to do is have the conversation

2:59

. So when you think about the idea of

3:01

leadership and you're running this company

3:03

, you didn't do , you've had some failure

3:06

in your journey . How did you recover ? Because

3:08

everybody thinks all of a sudden you're a success overnight

3:10

. I say yeah , about 365

3:12

or 465 of those nights . But

3:14

you started it and you restarted and you lost

3:17

everything at one point . How did you recover

3:19

from losing everything that you've built

3:21

up for so ?

3:22

long you lost it . Yeah , so

3:24

basically one of the biggest

3:26

things and , to be honest with you , this podcast

3:29

is not enough time .

3:31

So I'll just shorten everything down .

3:35

But to answer your question , so

3:38

the first thing is

3:40

I believe in myself . Okay

3:42

, that's the very first thing . And

3:44

whatever adversity comes to me , I'm going to say I believe

3:47

in myself , I believe in myself , I believe in myself , I'm not

3:49

afraid of it . You know

3:51

, I don't raise my hand and I don't , you

3:53

know , tell it to come my way or anything like that

3:55

. But when challenges

3:57

arise and when they come , I Analyze

4:01

it and I take it head-on , because

4:04

if you don't , it will drive you literally

4:06

in the dirt , and I'm serious , I've seen

4:08

that with other people to where they were driven

4:11

, literally in the dirt , and I'm talking about

4:13

Casket graved . Your heart is what

4:15

I'm talking about . So , so , literally

4:17

. So I was able to just

4:20

take life out of horns and

4:22

Just not give

4:24

up , believe in myself , knowing

4:27

that I have a purpose in life and just

4:29

continuing on . And

4:31

when you have that type of attitude

4:34

, I Promise you

4:36

, nothing can stop you and you can bounce

4:38

back from anything and and it's

4:41

all about your thinking , your

4:43

attitude , it's about things

4:45

like that , and you will be able to just Turn

4:48

into a Mack truck , a bulldozer

4:51

, if you will , and you can just

4:53

run through walls and you can just tear

4:55

down Challenges and things like

4:58

that in your life . So , to be

5:00

honest with you , it's a self

5:02

thing , it's a mind thing , it's

5:04

a individual thing . So

5:06

, but that's just kind of a snippet of

5:09

some of the ways I was able to bounce back .

5:11

Yes , thank you for condition and you're exactly

5:13

right in the time frame because there are a lot

5:15

of stuff that you can share with us . I love

5:17

the fact that you reference back to the mattress . So you know

5:19

he's the trucking king , so he's gonna use

5:21

some trucking analysis for us today . So

5:24

he said I like that Mack truck , you're gonna go through it

5:26

, but you also . What I've learned

5:28

over time is that you can teach people skill sets

5:30

in 30 seconds , but

5:32

you said something that takes a lifetime to teach belief

5:35

in yourself . Mm-hmm , people

5:38

struggle with belief . I

5:40

can teach people , like in the world that I am

5:43

in and dealing with leaders at all levels . I can

5:45

teach them how to . But I say how much

5:47

do you believe in you , mm-hmm ? Because

5:49

even if you have a phenomenal process

5:51

or a piece of equipment , if you don't believe in you , it's

5:54

not as good as it could be Right . So all you

5:56

that are listening he's dropping some serious nuggets for

5:58

you . Please believe in yourself . You're

6:00

going to encounter failure . You're going to kind

6:02

of challenges . You're gonna have these times when you

6:04

feel like it's not going to work . Yes

6:07

, well , you got to say are you willing to do the work ? Do

6:10

you think you can still get through it , so we call

6:12

it resiliency in our space . How do

6:14

you bounce back ? Super important . So

6:17

, patrick , you're running a company now you got , I

6:19

think , over 20 trucks now that you have in your fleet , and

6:21

so you got a lot of people that are doing the work on

6:24

the day to day . How did you get out of the roll-up on the ground

6:26

doing it all and I know you've done it all , yeah

6:28

how did you step up to the level now where you

6:30

can't be the person doing it all anymore

6:32

? How did you separate from get behind that truck ? I'm

6:35

sure it's fun and if you enjoyed it , but it's

6:37

not the best use of your time . Yeah , how do you up

6:39

leaders , stop doing the stuff that they love doing

6:41

and start being the leader they need to be ?

6:43

Yeah . So first of all , so I

6:45

actually had to start

6:48

over from negative not zero , very

6:50

important Negative

6:53

, not zero . I was jumping up and down

6:55

and I made it to zero .

6:56

Yeah you owe somebody some stuff , so

6:58

even the money you brought in wasn't even your money yet .

7:02

You get it right . So

7:04

I do want to put that out there . But

7:06

to answer your question run so

7:08

I Started off in

7:11

the truck again . I'm not that person

7:13

that just talks about trucks and Just

7:15

tell people about trucks and the business and

7:17

things like that and just on the business side

7:20

, because there's a lot of that out there

7:22

also . But I'm that person that

7:24

went and got my CDL license

7:27

, got the truck , got the trailer

7:29

started from scratch , started from the ground

7:31

, started in the mud when I drove

7:33

OTR over the road All

7:36

down by the border , mexico and all type of things

7:38

all over . That's me . I'm that person

7:40

, and so I was able to learn a lot

7:42

from that , and so that

7:45

experience helped

7:47

me transition into leadership

7:49

. I'm a firm believer

7:51

if you go in the mud yourself

7:53

, you can teach someone

7:55

else how to survive in the mud

7:57

. I am a firm believer

8:00

of that . So I Also

8:03

realize that me

8:05

being in the seat is not

8:07

something that I just wanted

8:09

forever . It was a means to an end

8:11

, is what it was . It was to prepare

8:14

me to something else , and

8:16

I'll be honest with you we're being transparent . I

8:19

also learned that I can

8:21

make way more money Not

8:24

being in the truck yes

8:26

, being outside of the truck

8:29

and so I was

8:31

determined to learn everything being

8:33

in the truck so I can take that knowledge

8:35

and that information and transition

8:37

that and you will

8:40

be surprised of how it

8:42

helps you in your transition and Me

8:45

going from negative to millionaire

8:47

status . I mean that

8:50

Was something that

8:52

did not come snap of a finger , blink

8:54

of an eye . It came from blood , sweat

8:57

and tears , experience in

8:59

the mud , getting out there , learning

9:01

everything . And the transition was

9:03

not a perfect transition I would never

9:06

lie to you and tell you that it was but

9:08

it Made it a

9:10

smoother Transition

9:12

. It made it a smoother transition . So

9:15

from that point , I

9:17

was able to build a

9:19

team of people , because

9:21

Every great

9:23

leader knows that

9:26

is about who you

9:29

surround yourself with . Yes

9:31

, and that's one of the top qualities

9:34

of being a good

9:36

leader . That's what I mean

9:38

. You can be awesome yourself , but

9:41

if you're running a multi-million dollar operation

9:44

, it doesn't really matter

9:46

about you being

9:48

awesome , just wholeheartedly . What

9:50

matters is you're awesome and you

9:52

have other people that are awesome

9:55

with you and around

9:57

you . So I was able to

9:59

get other people with

10:02

the same mindset like

10:04

myself . Some of them were family members

10:06

. I have family members that have been working

10:08

with me for several

10:10

years now , like going on like seven

10:12

and eight years , some . We have some

10:15

people that are outside . It's not

10:17

family members , but you gotta

10:19

, whether it's a relative or non-relative

10:21

, what's important , they gotta have the same

10:24

mindset that you have

10:26

. And so I was able to do that and

10:29

surround myself with that . So I

10:31

wanna put this in a snippet . So I

10:34

was able to learn myself , bless

10:37

with and tears . I was also able

10:39

to go after people

10:42

with the same mindset that I

10:44

have , because it was gonna make my company

10:46

smoother and better and it was gonna make the

10:48

job and everything we do every day better . And

10:51

I'll tell you something else that also helped

10:53

I invested in myself

10:55

as far as leadership

10:58

knowledge . Now

11:00

, that's very important that

11:02

someone gets this .

11:04

Yeah , I would go down and pack that for you , cedric

11:07

, because you're exactly right , because you can invest

11:09

in the truck , you can invest in supplies

11:11

. But once you get to the role where you

11:13

make the shift to get out of the truck per

11:15

se driving and not making it just

11:17

a job for Cedric you have to get to

11:19

a place where how do you invest in your personal

11:22

and professional growth to lead this team . So

11:24

, if you're listening and you're watching what Cedric

11:26

and I are talking about , there has to be a transition

11:28

that you get better . There

11:30

has to be an opportunity where you elevate

11:33

and raise the level of your expertise

11:35

on leading people , not driving trucks , or

11:38

whether that task is that you do every day Doesn't

11:40

mean you forget it , that you don't know it , but

11:42

now it can't just be you behind the

11:44

wheel . Cedric said something important . It's

11:47

hard for your company to grow if

11:49

you got to always do everything

11:51

in the company . Yes , there's

11:53

just no way that it's gonna be . It's not scalable , it's not

11:56

even sustainable . Yes , if you

11:58

got to do everything , that's not sustainable and

12:00

it's not scalable . So if you're

12:02

really building a company , you really want to be the entrepreneur

12:04

, you really want an organization or you're a corporate America

12:06

. What are you investing in you

12:09

personally ? Invest in your own growth

12:11

? Yes , so I love that you went there , that

12:13

you invested in that . Can you share

12:16

a person that was a mentor or role

12:18

model Because oftentimes you get into where

12:20

you are who was a mentor or role

12:22

model that was a couple of steps ahead of you , that

12:24

took you under their wing and say come on , man , I know you don't know what you're

12:26

doing . Let me help you .

12:27

Wow , yes , I actually have

12:30

two people that I'm gonna share with you and

12:32

, to be honest with you , it's multiple people

12:34

, but it's two main people I want to share with you

12:36

my first mentor

12:39

and my first leader

12:41

and my first mentor

12:43

person . My first leader

12:45

, the person that helped me out the most

12:48

was my father . I

12:51

saw how my father

12:53

treated my mom . I saw

12:55

how my father raised his family

12:57

I'm the youngest out of five children and

13:00

I saw and I watched

13:02

him and I'm gonna be honest with you

13:04

, I'm not sitting here today telling you my father

13:06

was perfect , because he was

13:08

not , which no

13:10

, fathers are perfect .

13:11

Yeah , none . If you find them , let me know who they

13:13

are .

13:14

They know who this is . Yeah , exactly

13:17

, but what he showed us as

13:19

a family man , as a leader . I learned

13:22

so much from that and I

13:24

thank God I was able to learn that from

13:26

my father before he passed away . My father passed

13:28

away back in 2021

13:31

. And I was sad

13:33

, but it wasn't all sadness . I

13:35

was happy of the things that I

13:37

was able to learn from him and what he taught

13:39

me , because he taught me so

13:41

much . He taught me how to be a man . He

13:44

started me on the leadership journey . He

13:46

taught me how to talk to people and deal with people

13:48

. He taught me so , so , so

13:50

, so much . So I began to

13:52

learn from him at an early age and

13:55

then , from that point , transitioning and

13:57

let's be honest , you're going to only learn so

13:59

much from certain people . That's

14:02

just being straight up . You're not going to learn everything

14:04

from your father . You're not going to learn everything from your parents

14:06

, your grandparents . So don't think that you are . You

14:08

have to invest in yourself . And so what I

14:10

did ? I began to start investing

14:13

in myself , and that's something my father instilled in me also

14:15

. He was like , son , you got to climb the ladder

14:17

, you can't just stay here , you got to keep going

14:19

. And so I invested in myself

14:21

. I would take all type of leadership conferences

14:24

. I would go to leadership seminars

14:26

, travel all over the country . I would

14:28

play for the plane ticket myself , go

14:31

over here and pay for the gas myself

14:33

. Me and my wife would drive to this country . Like

14:36

that's called investing in yourself . I don't

14:38

know how much money I spent on books . I

14:40

don't know how much money I spent on books , you and me both . Yes

14:43

, we lost count , I don't know how

14:45

much I spent on books , but there's one individual

14:47

by the name of Dr Miles

14:50

Monroe and he passed away also

14:52

I think it was 2016 if I'm not mistaken

14:54

but he was a

14:57

great mentor . I purchased

14:59

so much of his stuff seminars

15:02

and CDs and books and things like

15:04

that and he was such a great mentor , spiritually

15:07

and leadership wise , management

15:09

wise I mean the whole nine yards

15:11

. So that's another person that really

15:14

helped me out and his legacy

15:16

lives on because I still buy his books , I still

15:18

watch all of his videos and I don't even know

15:20

how many times I watched them . I'm serious

15:22

like 50 and 100 and 200 times . I

15:24

hit you , not so , but Dr

15:26

Miles Monroe was a great inspiration

15:29

to me and was still a great inspiration

15:31

to me , along with my father also Awesome

15:34

, thank you .

15:34

I mean I'm really happy . I mean I serve on an

15:36

organization called the South Carolina Center

15:38

for Fathers and Families , so I'm a huge advocate

15:41

for fathers being connected to their families

15:43

, being role models of their families , being in their communities

15:45

and really helping younger people

15:47

make the connection . So I'm happy that your dad

15:49

did that for you . That's a really great story . I love

15:51

it and I'm really passionate about that part

15:53

of us showing up as men and fathers and role models

15:56

and then investing in paying for tickets and

15:58

paying for gas . Oftentimes we want

16:00

to get better and we sometimes

16:02

plan our vacation better than we plan our professional

16:04

development . And

16:08

I tell people I say , yeah , I hear you got this vacation together

16:10

. Tell me about what you're going to do this

16:12

year for your personal development , and

16:15

I haven't thought about it . Yeah , so let's

16:17

balance that , so you continue to take those vacations

16:19

because it's important for you In

16:21

an organization . A lot of leaders at this time

16:24

are having this

16:26

difficulty with trusting

16:28

organizations . You're running

16:31

an organization and you can't run an

16:33

organization successfully without trusting people in your

16:35

organization . How did you get to the place ? Your brand

16:37

, your name ? You've lost it . You rebuilt it . You've

16:39

got it , it belongs . What do you do to make

16:41

sure that you build trust with the people that are out

16:43

there really building your brand

16:46

every day and living up to your standards

16:48

every day , and they're in front of your customers every day ? How

16:50

did you get to a place where you knew it couldn't

16:52

be you and you had to trust them ? What did you

16:54

do so you can trust people more ?

16:56

Yeah , so what

16:58

I did is , first of all , again investing

17:01

in yourself , and learning qualities as a leader

17:04

is important , and that's some of the things that I was taught

17:06

how to build things

17:08

like that and how to trust others . But

17:10

, to answer your question , one of the things

17:13

, personally , that I did is

17:16

so not only do you have to invest in yourself

17:18

, but guess what you got to invest

17:20

in your people also .

17:23

Let me say so . You want me to pay them and

17:25

pay for them to go somewhere . Is that what you're suggesting

17:27

? You give them a salary and help them get better

17:29

.

17:29

Listen , you got to do what you got to do , but

17:32

to be 100% transparent

17:34

, yes , yes , and

17:36

sometimes it's not all about

17:38

paying for them to go somewhere else which you

17:40

do need to do that also but it's

17:42

also about you taking what

17:45

you have and spending quality

17:47

time with them . That's one of the traits

17:49

that I still do with all of my

17:51

people right now , today , and

17:54

I'm talking about on an individual basis

17:56

. We have group sessions , we

17:58

have meetings , we have internal

18:01

trainings , but I

18:03

spend time with

18:05

every single one of them one

18:07

on one , and

18:10

I'm a tab that the knock knock for everybody

18:12

is important for you

18:14

to spend time with the people that are actually

18:17

helping you get done what you want

18:19

to get done .

18:20

Yes , so once you move into a leadership role , people

18:22

want to be seen , people want to be heard , people want to be

18:24

valued , people want to be respected , and

18:26

there's no better way than to spend time

18:28

with them . Yes , so spend

18:30

time with your team intentionally

18:32

, build it in , just like you spend time at all

18:35

the other things that's relevant to you . It can't

18:37

just be about your bottom line of your profit margins

18:39

. Yes , your profit margins can't won't be

18:41

what they can be if you don't take care of your team

18:43

. Spend time with your team .

18:44

Yes , and I tell people run you

18:47

, take care of your people . Your people will take care of

18:49

you Absolutely and in all ways

18:51

. It's not all about just you want

18:53

to just have formal sessions with you

18:55

, always talking about the business and training

18:57

. Yes , you do all type of things . We go on

18:59

trips , we go to a top golf , we go

19:02

to restaurants and I'm I

19:04

got the bill . Like you , can't expect them

19:06

to have the bill . Yes , I have the bill

19:08

, I pay , and some cases I pay

19:10

for them to travel to certain

19:12

places . If we're going to Florida for

19:14

internal company event , guess what

19:16

? I don't expect for them to pay to get to Florida

19:19

. I pay for the two . Get to

19:21

Florida , pay for everything .

19:23

Yes , I'm not going to let the people on my team listen to Cedric . They've

19:26

been in jump ship and been with us driving trucks . Hey

19:28

, ron , you got to change how you doing business . Cedric

19:30

over there doing this , I said don't y'all listen to Cedric , I'm

19:33

seeing it out in Georgia . I

19:36

know that's right . So , cedric , I'm going

19:38

to shift a little bit . I want to shift to the other side of this . So

19:40

, business side , you've had your challenges . You've recovered

19:42

from those . You're running an effective team . You're

19:44

investing in yourself . How do you balance

19:47

your professional life as an entrepreneur

19:49

with your family ? Yeah , how

19:51

do you make sure that's well balanced , because it can be a lot of

19:53

hours . It's very , very time intensive

19:56

to be an entrepreneur . How do you balance

19:58

that for your family ?

19:59

Yeah , so my operation

20:01

works like this . In a nutshell , the

20:04

book stops with me , I am

20:07

the owner , I am the CEO , but

20:10

I have what we call

20:12

a CEO

20:14

part two , and that's just my own thing

20:16

. Yes , your language , yes , yes , I

20:19

mean , I have that in place and

20:21

I have a trusted individual that

20:24

, regardless if

20:26

I'm taking off for one day or

20:29

if I'm taking off for a Long

20:31

trip I mean me and my wife just got back from Hawaii

20:33

not long ago , just a couple of days

20:35

ago , or whatever and I'm

20:38

able to go on that trip and stay as long as I won't

20:40

because I have that CEO . Part

20:42

2 is what I like to call it . Yes , that person

20:44

can handle the ship because

20:47

I have talked that person how

20:49

to handle the ship . So that's one thing

20:51

, and this may be the most important

20:53

thing and I know it's an arguable point

20:55

, but it may be the most important thing you

20:58

have to have an

21:00

off button . You

21:04

Use it . I'm

21:09

serious , you .

21:12

Absolutely . You got to disconnect a self-help

21:15

mental health .

21:16

Oh those things are relevant .

21:17

I like it until a race car track , if you

21:19

will , for everyone that's listening . That car can be in the

21:22

lead , running 200 laps , 300

21:24

miles an hour , but they got to go to the pit stop

21:26

. It's mandatory that they go to the pit stop to

21:28

get refuel , refitted tires , all

21:30

the things the driver got to get Rehydrated

21:32

. So if a race car driver knows

21:34

running the car that they can't make all

21:36

500 laps at one time and they got to go to the pit

21:38

stop intentionally built , you must have

21:40

a pit stop , that's right , you must , so

21:43

you can get back to where you need to be at

21:45

, so you can run your company . So , leaders , I hear

21:47

you , I got it . I know you got to get it done . You

21:49

must have a pit stop . You got to take

21:51

a break or you will break . Yes

21:54

no good to your company if you're broke .

21:56

That's exactly right . And I also tell

21:59

people when I'm , you know , speaking with them

22:01

about leadership and speaking engagements

22:03

and things like that , one of the things I tell people . We

22:05

use that a lot

22:08

with Vacation

22:10

and it's cool . But you got to

22:12

use it with everything . Like sometimes

22:15

I just take a day off , I Call

22:17

my people , be like , listen , I'm not coming

22:19

to the office , you guys handle

22:21

it . If something catch fire

22:24

, call me . Other than that , you know Bargaming

22:28

. You got to use it for the small

22:30

things also . Sometimes , you

22:33

know , I know some of the things that my wife loves and so

22:35

I just take a day off and I'm like I'm gonna take

22:37

my wife to go and get this

22:39

item that she loved , I'm gonna go and get her

22:41

favorite steak , her favorite

22:43

sushi or whatever . We're gonna go just on a day

22:45

trip and I'll just do that . You gotta

22:48

have a switch that you can turn on . I mean

22:50

, you got to and it's not just a big

22:52

vacation things , it's gotta be for

22:54

the small things also and events and

22:56

stuff like don't miss your kids Basketball

22:59

game or baseball game and don't get me wrong , we can't

23:01

make everything , but make sure

23:03

you are there , because you can't get those

23:05

things back . But you gotta first

23:07

have that off switch and you've got to

23:09

use it .

23:11

Yes , yes , please make sure that

23:13

you're taking care of the people that allow you

23:15

to do the work that you're doing . And if you invest

23:17

that's not what I've learned over time said it gives . If you

23:19

go to those games , if you show up into

23:21

those events when you got to work , they

23:23

won't interrupt you . But if

23:25

I don't do those things , it's when you're

23:27

trying to get work done . You've missed the game , you've missed

23:29

the anniversary , you've missed a small thing . That's

23:31

when they're interrupting because they're feeling

23:33

neglected , not seen , and you're always working . So

23:36

give them their time and when you're at work

23:38

, they'll give you your time . So please

23:40

do that effectively so you can go across the board . So

23:42

I said you shared a lot of stuff as

23:44

we begin to wrap it up for us , when you

23:46

think about , like , what would you leave

23:48

? What are three tips or three things ? You say , hey

23:51

, in your role , if you're entrepreneur , or

23:53

your husband , or you're in a community , just

23:55

leadership in general , what are three things that's

23:57

helped you become better as a leader ? What

23:59

would you show the audience ?

24:01

Whoo , listen , that's easy for me . That's

24:03

easy for me . So three things I want to leave

24:05

with people . That has helped me tremendously

24:08

and I also Tell other

24:10

people this and teach other people this also knowledge

24:13

, understanding and wisdom . And

24:15

I'll break it down real quick , the short versions Again

24:18

, you have to invest in yourself . You got to get

24:20

knowledge . What is knowledge ? Knowledge is information

24:23

that you're gaining

24:25

, that you're getting . Don't wait on someone to

24:27

get it for you . Don't wait on your parents

24:29

to give it to you . Don't wait on your aunt , your grandparents , don't

24:31

wait on that . University or college and universities

24:34

are great , but you got to take

24:36

action yourself . You

24:38

know , invest in yourself . Self education

24:40

is best education . So knowledge

24:42

is gaining that information and getting that information

24:45

. You got to get understanding , because

24:47

if I have the knowledge and I don't understand

24:49

it , it means nothing thing

24:51

. Understanding

24:54

basically means that I comprehend

24:56

the information and the knowledge

24:58

that I have attained . And

25:00

then the last thing is Wisdom

25:03

. Wisdom is when you take the

25:05

knowledge , you take the understanding

25:08

and you apply it to yourself

25:11

and to your life . And

25:14

if you want to see a change , I

25:16

promise you if you did those

25:18

things , self educate yourself

25:21

, get knowledge , understanding the wisdom . I promise

25:23

you , things will change in

25:25

your life . Soon and

25:27

quick .

25:28

Yes , yes , thank you so much . A lot

25:30

of great nuggets . He's built the company multiple

25:33

times . He's built the team . I'm family

25:35

man and taking care of and enjoying trips and taking care

25:37

of his team . So , sadrick , I know you're in the

25:39
