We're on a trial-and-error journey in search of a meaningful quiet inner life in a busy loud world… and you're invited. Our guide has been the person and teaching of Jesus of Nazareth, but whatever your religious (or non-religious) background, join us on this spiritual journey.Jesus was a homeless vagrant street preacher. So what does it mean to follow him in our affluent and busy 21st century American context? We're not mega-church pastors, we're two regular guys in Chicago trying to follow Jesus in a world that is so very different from his. Together, we'll discover great writers (like Henri Nouwen, Thomas Merton, and Richard Rohr), talk with some thoughtful guests, re-think modern-Western Christianity, explore Christian contemplation and mysticism, learn how to slow down, and test drive some spiritual disciplines. You'll hear how we are each nurturing a still spirit, and what has worked and what hasn't amidst all the demands of everyday life. One more thing, we're real people with real lives having real conversations. There won't be any sermons, esoteric theology, churchy jargon or crocheted bible verses. We hope you'll join our weekly discussions about living a quiet inner life in a loud nonstop world.
