In this episode of Unravelling, I am excited to share a sacred conversation I had with Helen from The Fold. Helen is a yoga teacher in Manchester, teaching at her new studio The Fold. She specialises in yoga for women who are trying to conceive, with an emphasis on creating a restorative space for compassionate connection to self and others. Helen is also a lecturer in education and writes about forests and the beyond human.
In this episode we unravel…
- Helen’s journey and what’s brought her to where she is now
- The journey of understanding what it really means to hold space for someone in the capacity of being a yoga teacher
- Creating safe and nurturing spaces for people to come and receive what they need in the moment
- Our spiritual toolkits are always available to us, but sometimes we have to give ourselves permission to access them
- Breadcrumb trails of curiosity that lead us to beautiful places and experiences
- and so much more!
Memorable Quotes:
- I’m creating a safe and nurturing space for someone to come and receive what they need in that moment. It’s now my main intention when sharing yoga nidra and meditation.
- There’s this misconception that we come to these tools to learn something new, but I deeply believe that it’s all this remembering and peeling back layer after layer of who we are at the very core.
- Belonging is a huge thing for me. Finding that belonging can be so challenging. So I want to offer space for those who have been through the Himalayas and back down again to have their baby.
