Man, oh man. When did everything get so messed up? Why is every book or podcast or guru telling me that if I want to be happy, I MUST wake up at 5am, or I MUST have a side hustle, or I MUST make my bed? As if no person in human history ever had success unless they did one, or all, of those things.

We know that's not true.

Here's the problem with "four hour workweeks" and "five second rules" and "miracle mornings". While they are wonderful concepts, and for the people that do choose to implement them many have transformations... The problem is that most people just flat out aren't going to do what's required. They're just not. It's like your doctor telling you to stop smoking and lose weight. You know she's right. But there you are, you leave her office, get in your car, and light up a smoke as you're sitting in the McDonald's parking lot.

Look, all the motivation and systems and formulas in the world aren't going to help you change your life and your career or business unless you actually want to change. So yeah, that's where you have to start. Do you want to change, or don't you? Then, and only then, are you going to be open to a system for change.

But let's get to the core of it all. The word "change". I once got booked to speak to a room full of life coaches. Great crowd, nice audience. The first thing I said when I got on stage was, "Stop calling yourself coaches. Nobody wants to be coached." To which half of the room applauded and the other half wanted to stab me in the heart.

Stop trying to "change". Do you know how difficult it is to "change" a behavior or a mindset? Studies have shown that change is more difficult than giving up heroin, or even cigarettes.

How about we try something different. Stop trying to change; Start learning how to become Unskippable.

Unskippable is in every one of us. We don't have to change to be Unskippable. We just have to start thinking differently about what we want out of our lives and business/career, and then go do it.

This book offers no system or formula. You don't need to wake up at 5am. You don't need to journal your feelings, or learn how to meditate. You just need to modify your thoughts and realize what you really want your life to be like, then make small, simple (I almost said changes) "adjustments".

Isn't that just another way of saying change, Jim? Well, I guess you could say that. When I told the life coaches to stop calling themselves coaches, that did not mean they still weren't coaching people. They weren't abandoning their business model and what they teach. They were just modifying how it was presented.

So yeah, you're of course going to "change" the way you think and work. But by not calling it that, you're going to have a much better chance of actually accomplishing your goals.
