Colleen Sabraw knows the importance of building connections between kids in North Battleford and nature.

Colleen is the Executive Director of the Battlefords Early Childhood Intervention Program and played a significant role in creating something unique for children in the community.

Last year, Saskatchewan’s first natural playground was opened in North Battleford’s Centennial Park.

It bypasses the usual plastic slides and metal monkey bars of playgrounds and instead uses trees, rocks, hills and grass to encourage kids to get out and enjoy nature within city limits.

Colleen loves her community and that was abundantly clear when we she met Eric at the playground on a windy Fall day.
