Study after study tells us that daily exposure to chemically engineered home cleaners is one of the worst causes of health problems ranging from mild to serious, not to mention their impact on the environment.

When The Botanist set out to find natural home cleaning products for our Dubai-based home, they tried it all (trust us), but despite big and bold marketing claims, there were still ingredients we couldn’t pronounce (or sometimes a lack of specific ingredients listed) and ‘natural’ products laden with synthetic chemicals. And really, would it hurt someone to design a bottle that you don’t have to hide?

So what do you do? You make your own, of course! But not like that – we’re not talking vinegar and lemon home recipes. For months, they dug back into history, searched every do-it-yourself guide, even consulted our grandmas and – using our knack for design and passion for health - created a selection of the simplest and most effective cleaning products, made the artisanal way. The kind where you don’t have to think twice about putting food on your kitchen top, can enjoy walking barefoot on the floor right after cleaning it, and let your kids crawl on the floor without worrying about what they’re being exposed to.

As with so many things, the answer lies in nature. And simplicity.

After a multitude of iterations, The Botanist was born.
