In 2006, social activist and community organizer Tarana Burke was moved to create the phrase “me too” on social media when she met a young girl who confided that she had been sexually assaulted. Burke later said she wished she’d said “Me too.” In recent months that phrase has morphed many times, sparking debates from countless angles, as we collectively wonder: Who are we speaking for or against and why?
