The best Coffee shops in Portland Oregon
Although Stumptown IS the name of one of Portland’s most prolific coffee roasters, the City's nickname has nothing to do with coffee. When Portland was growing so quickly in the 18’s stumps of trees were left behind as all available manpower was being used in construction.
So is Portland famous for Coffee? Sort of… Seattle is the home of Starbucks and Tully’s and residents consume more coffee than any other City in the United States. 180 days of annual rainfall probably has a lot to do with that. Inasmuch, Portland is known for its coffee SHOPS. Many, many, many coffee shops, in fact the actual number in Portland proper is purportedly 4,900! Quirky shops, Coffee shops that are tasting rooms for Roasters, some that are tiny, some that are warehouses.
