Welcome to this podcast. I am honoured that you have joined me. Please listen in as I outline to you what this podcast's about. Mauri ora whanau x "This podcast provides a space for people of all genders, diversities and backgrounds to tell their lived experiences of resilience and posttraumatic growth from the effects of childhood sexual abuse. In this podcast I also share my background, experience, story of resilience from childhood sexual abuse, research about what I’ve learned on my journey so far as a counsellor, researcher and previous white collared professional. This podcast is about what is strong, not what is wrong about those who have experienced childhood sexual abuse. The stories of resilience are provided by those who have experienced childhood sexual abuse, for those who have experienced childhood sexual abuse. Let’s tell our stories so we may shine a light of hope for others on their journeys. This podcast may also be helpful for counsellors, therapists, psychologists and people from similar supporting professions as well as friends and family. Please remember, this indigenous woman’s words of wisdom while supporting, “If you are here to help me then you are wasting your time. But if you have come because your liberation is caught up in mine then let us work together” Just an FYI, This podcast isn’t intended to be a substitute for counselling or talk-therapy. Although you may certainly find the content helpful and useful on your own journey of healing.
