Hello, beautiful people!
2:11
Life was sometimes
2:13
teach you lessons that
2:15
no one else can. That's
2:17
why I share old school
2:20
wisdom for a new generation.
2:22
My name is Loretta Wetzel also
2:25
known as Mama Soul Wisdom, and
2:27
I am your host for
2:29
Mama Soul Wisdom. Talk.
2:32
This podcast is about celebrating
2:35
life and love families
2:38
and entrepreneurship. It
2:40
is critically important
2:42
in today's society to
2:44
pay attention to
2:46
our families and to
2:48
promote legacy while
2:51
living our best
2:53
lives! Today. I have
2:55
a very special guest.
2:58
She is a powerhouse
3:00
of a woman, a leader,
3:04
a wife,
3:06
And recently elected as
3:08
the 26th international president
3:11
of Zeta Phi Beta sorority.
3:13
And many other attributes.
3:16
But most of all, what I love
3:18
about. Dr. Stacie
3:21
NC Grant is that she
3:23
is a woman of faith and
3:25
she is loud and proud. And we'll
3:28
let you know. But besides that,
3:30
she's a business woman. Dr.
3:33
Grant is the Chief Brilliance Officer
3:36
of C and G Enterprise
3:38
Unlimited LLC. It
3:41
is a MWBE firm
3:43
that focuses on meeting facilitation
3:47
and professional development training
3:49
services. Currently
3:51
she is the facilitator for the
3:53
JFK airport
3:56
redevelopment community advisory
3:58
council a 19
4:01
billion dollar redevelopment project.
4:03
Now that's what I'm talking about. This
4:06
woman is powerful! Additionally,
4:08
Dr. Grant is also the founder
4:11
of Destiny Designers
4:13
University. The only.
4:16
Training and development platform
4:19
for faith based entrepreneurs
4:22
and professionals. And she
4:24
is the producer of the
4:26
Faithpreneur channel on
4:28
Exposure Plus TV.
4:31
Dr. Stacy NC
4:33
Grant in the house. Welcome.
4:36
Welcome. Welcome. I'm so
4:38
happy you're here!
4:41
Oh, my goodness. I'm excited!.
4:46
I brought my own noise
4:48
because I want to applaud Mama Soul
4:50
Wisdom. I am in the building
4:53
on the podcast to
4:55
listen to honey. My stock just
4:57
went up, hanging out with my
4:59
dear sister and all the wisdom
5:02
that you share on this podcast, I'm honored
5:04
to be amongst the number and to
5:06
just share whatever is on your
5:09
heart for me to impart
5:11
to your audience. rhymes, I might have to...
5:13
All right now let's go, let's go.
5:15
Well, let's get into it because
5:17
I want my listeners
5:20
to hear directly from you.
5:23
What do you consider to be
5:25
your life's work? There are many
5:28
things that I'm sure because you
5:30
are a woman of many talents and skills,
5:33
but what do you to consider your life's
5:36
work and why?
5:38
I love that question, Mama Soul. So, so my
5:40
life's work is to lead teach
5:42
and inspire. If those three
5:44
things aren't happening, then I'm
5:46
not doing it or called to do it because
5:49
that's what God put me on this planet for. And
5:51
I learned after a long journey
5:53
to stop apologizing for how God
5:55
made me. I'm multifaceted.
5:57
multi talented and multi
5:59
brilliant. I made
6:01
it up!. So it's okay for me
6:04
to hold this space so I can hold that
6:06
space for everyone else. Who's like me,
6:08
God gave you multiple skills, gifts, and
6:10
talents, and you have to learn how to
6:12
fine tune and execute
6:14
them. So you live out your divine calling. So
6:16
in leading teaching and inspiring, I
6:19
am a living example of what it means
6:21
to give honor to God and all that I do
6:23
to use every single gift. When
6:25
I leave, don't nobody cry for me,
6:27
honey, because I wanted said
6:29
at my celebration of life that she
6:32
left it all on the table. She lived
6:34
full and died. Empty.
6:37
I have this question for
6:40
people who struggle
6:42
with faith and maybe you can
6:44
help them out because. I
6:47
want to know, how do you learn
6:49
to grow your faith and
6:52
trust in God's word?
6:55
It's a journey. And I talk about
6:57
that all the time. You just don't arrive
6:59
with the level of conviction in
7:01
knowing what your faith is built on overnight.
7:04
God gives us free will. And
7:07
that's why my audience is very
7:09
niche, faith, preneurs. They understand
7:12
that there is a God, they have chosen with their freewill
7:14
to believe that he's real and his word is true.
7:16
So for those, with that
7:19
kind of developmental
7:21
growth, you build your faith through
7:23
the actions that you take. You build
7:25
your faith with not just being a hearer of the
7:27
word, but a doer of the word. And even
7:29
if you're not a person. Of
7:31
faith, by sense of believing in God.
7:34
Everyone has to have a level of faith, which
7:36
is belief. That's what faith is.
7:38
What do you believe in? I'm calling
7:40
forth that faithpreneurs believe in God
7:42
and we operate with an integrity to him
7:44
and how we do business. And the only way we
7:47
work our faith out is by taking
7:49
actions. When you can't see what's
7:51
on the other end as Dr. Martin Luther king, Jr.
7:54
Would say faith is taking the first step
7:56
without seeing the staircase. That was
7:58
a brilliant download that God gave him, because
8:00
that's exactly what it is. It's moving
8:02
forward without certainty. It's moving
8:05
forward without knowing, but trusting
8:07
what you know. And that is God is
8:09
real. His word is true. He's not a man that he
8:11
would lie and nothing will ever
8:13
return back void to him and his
8:15
word. So when you believe in that, then you move
8:18
with a different action. You have a different posture. You
8:20
have a different tone because you know
8:22
that weapons will be formed, but no weapon
8:24
formed will prosper. So faith
8:26
is acting on what you believe.
8:28
Baby, you have got to believe,
8:31
oh my goodness. And you can't
8:33
just sit home either. You got to take
8:35
some action steps!. Now
8:38
when it comes to families, what's
8:40
the one thing that you would tell
8:42
people now that you wish
8:44
you knew back then first starting
8:47
out when it comes to families?
8:50
Well, when it comes to families, I
8:52
joke around with what someone said, you
8:54
can't choose your family, right? You you're born
8:57
into it. And then depending
8:59
on what you choose to do in life, you get to create family.
9:01
If you build one you have children.
9:04
Family can only
9:06
appreciate who you
9:08
are as they see the development
9:11
on your journey. And I'm mentioning this
9:13
because for faith preneurs, you're entrepreneurs,
9:16
you're building something that hasn't yet been
9:18
done or seen. So sometimes family
9:20
can look
9:20
And why are you
9:21
you
9:21
doing
9:22
You know, who authorized you to go out there
9:24
and why you doing it? So you have to just
9:27
give them grace and love for that. As
9:29
who they are, they're your family, but they don't
9:31
have to be your cheerleaders. If you're fortunate
9:34
to have them as your cheerleaders. God bless.
9:36
I'm fortunate to have a husband that covers me, children
9:38
that support me, parents who have always believed
9:40
in me, but not everybody has that story. And
9:42
I have to share with them. It's okay
9:45
for them to love you the way they
9:47
know you, but don't get your feelings
9:49
hurt if they can't appreciate who you've grown
9:51
into. Because that
9:54
might not be where they are in their
9:56
own personal development. And you can only
9:58
recognize things that you see in yourself.
10:01
So as you're growing and evolving as a
10:03
person, give the grace and the latitude
10:05
to your family, to love you in
10:07
the capacity they have. And as you continue
10:10
to succeed, as you continue to get your
10:12
receipts, they will start to celebrate
10:15
who they are getting to know you as.
10:17
Because strangers will celebrate you sometimes
10:20
more than family, because they can appreciate
10:22
you from a different context. It's not that your
10:24
family doesn't love you or know you, but
10:26
they don't really know who
10:29
you've been called to be. So they got to catch
10:31
up!
10:31
Give 'em 'grace. I love that.
10:33
That was a mic drop moment. When you said
10:36
your families don't have to be your cheerleaders.
10:38
I'm like, oooh, let me write that one
10:40
down. I love that one. Yes!
10:43
And I got all kind of family,
10:45
so just don't have to be your biological family.
10:48
Cause you know, we got extended
10:50
family across the planet.
10:52
Let's talk about our young people. Our
10:56
young people, they want to start
10:58
businesses. They want to do
11:00
it a little bit different. What
11:03
words of wisdom would
11:05
you share with our young people
11:07
who are starting out and they
11:09
want to pursue their business
11:12
dreams?
11:13
Oh my goodness! Why are you all up in my
11:15
business, Mama Soul Wisdom? Because I gave
11:18
birth to two of those young people, I have an
11:20
18 year old and a 24 year old, who all
11:22
they've known is entrepreneurship. So
11:25
we've had our own struggles on the traditional
11:27
routes of their educational path
11:29
and how to stay the course because they come back with our
11:31
retort, honey Lord. Well, why
11:33
do I have to do that? Well, that doesn't make sense. Well, that,
11:36
and they both have started businesses early
11:38
in life.. You know, one son started
11:40
doing a lawn service without even letting me know and
11:43
had the audacity to consult my attorney
11:45
to get advice before he was legal
11:47
age to work. And the other one started selling
11:49
books and, and loose-leaf at school.
11:52
I said, Jesus, be a fence, Lord!
11:54
But that's what they know is that it's
11:56
okay to build and create your own economy.
11:59
But what I tell my sons and what I
12:01
tell other young people is that you
12:03
have a solid foundation. There's no
12:05
get rich quick scheme. There's no
12:07
way around doing the work. There's no
12:10
skip over the basic steps
12:12
of making sure that you have vetted, that
12:14
you have built a plan of action that you have
12:16
done the research that you have exercised
12:19
the right leverage and partnerships and relationships,
12:21
so you can produce the revenue. So take
12:23
the time to learn. What is tried
12:26
and true and don't try to recreate what has already
12:28
been done. And yes, you can put your
12:30
innovative spin on it. Yes. You can
12:33
create something that maybe gen
12:35
X or baby boomers might not appreciate,
12:37
but the formula of hard work
12:40
has never changed and will never change the
12:42
formula of building and
12:45
staying the course. Of consistency
12:48
is always going to win over
12:50
any YouTube sensation or Instagram,
12:52
rich scheme or whatever else that comes up.
12:55
Take the time to study and show
12:57
yourself approved. The study might not be
12:59
in a traditional path, but there is study
13:01
available and must be done. If you
13:03
want a sustainable legacy,
13:05
you can get a couple thousand, maybe even a
13:07
million or two, but do you want something
13:10
that outlives you? Then follow
13:12
the plan of action that is tried and true
13:15
with creating your business structure, your business
13:17
plan, having professionals who you
13:19
hire to take care of the areas where
13:21
you're not as strong, and then
13:23
do your due diligence.
13:24
All words of wisdom. We're going to have
13:26
to wrap this up. Dr. Stacie Grant.
13:29
However, I would be
13:32
remiss if you don't share
13:34
with the listeners about your
13:36
signature premier event,
13:39
