Western Tanzania is a rugged and remote frontier land, with vast expanses with no trace, minimal infrastructure, and few visitors. We take a trip to Gombe National Park, which is only 56 sq km, Gombe National Park is Tanzania's smallest national park but its famous primate inhabitants and relationship with Jane Goodall has made him world famous. Many of Gombe's 100-plus chimpanzees have gotten used to it well, and while it can be a tough, sweaty job traversing steep hills and valleys, if you go early in the morning, sightings are almost guaranteed.
