Naval Ravikant is a Venture Capitalist who's always been ahead of the curve. Based in Silicon Valley, he invested in companies like Uber and Twitter long before they were household names. But apart from being a shrewd investor, he’s also a great thinker.

This guy’s like a modern-day philosopher. Being a reading machine, he consumes content from all sorts of different industries and connects the dots in unique ways. One of Naval's greatest contributions is his concept of the “four types of leverage”.

But first of all, what exactly is leverage?

In finance 101 leverage is described as borrowing to invest. But more broadly, it’s a way of taking small actions to get big results. It's essentially how a little efforts compound into huge outcomes. Naval's framework states that there are four broad categories of leverage:

  • Labour
  • Capital
  • Code
  • Media

He’s used each of these at different stages of his life to accomplish big things. In this episode, we’ll take a look at Naval’s story and explore the power behind the four types of leverage.
