This week I’m joined by Lisa Hanawalt the Producer and Production Designer of Bojack Horseman. Lisa has published two books with Drawn and Quarterly the first My Dirty Dumb Eyes in 2013 and The Hot Dog Taste Test (2016). Lisa is also the co-host of the Baby Geniuses podcast with Emily Heller. She has won 8 awards including the Critics Choice Award for Bojack Horseman twice.

Fair warning we cover some more mature themes in today’s episode. Lisa and I discuss how she comes up with the idea’s for her art her use of wordplay. We explore how she developed her acute attention to detail and the questions she asks herself before creating the work. We talk about some of her quirks and how they influence the work she produces.

What you’ll learn from this episode the novel ways you can channel your anxiety. We cover the characteristics of what a lousy therapist looks like. We talk about how her podcast Baby Geniuses got started. We touch on the stress you might experience around public speaking. This is one of the funnier episodes so enjoy!
