I have a workout area in my backyard that I used to work out on with other men but have had to take down some of the big rigs due to a retired, wealthy neighbor that complained to the HOA.
So now I have a smaller rig that I work on by myself.
POINT #2: Long Periods Of Time By Myself
I tend to do most of my workouts by myself, usually in the early morning, learning to be cool with being alone by myself.
Sometimes it’s scary to be alone by myself on a deep level, but it’s trained me to operate in a different way.
POINT #3: Patterns of Being Alone
It’s common for entrepreneurs to withdraw when they face immense pressure when what they need the most is to rely on other people.
Inside of when life gets hard, we ironically try to isolate ourselves even more, but it never works because life is a team sport.
QUESTION OF THE DAY:
Where in your Core 4 (body, being, balance and business) have you decided to isolate yourself and be alone, telling yourself stories that you can’t do it with anybody else and you’ve hidden yourself from everybody else?
CHALLENGE OF THE DAY:
Talk to somebody. Stop being alone, and you might find that half of the problem was that you thought that you were alone when in actuality there are plenty that want to be there for you.
QUOTE OF THE DAY:
“That desire to train by myself is beautiful when it comes to fitness, but here’s where the problem is: this same function of being alone is a strategy that most entrepreneurs (especially married businessmen under a lot of stress) try to pull by being alone. When the pressure is on, they tend to withdraw. I don’t think they do this on purpose, but a story gets created that in order to find success, we need to be alone and not rely on other people. Just as that doesn’t work with marriage or parenthood, it doesn’t work in entrepreneurship either. Life is a team sport.”
