What we're going to do right here is go back. Way
0:04
back. Back into time. To
0:08
another episode from the WWE Ready Archives. I
0:10
am Lou Manjolo and this is show number
0:13
769. And
0:15
this and every week I'm going to
0:17
select an evergreen episode from the archives
0:20
to share that maybe you haven't heard
0:22
before or one that you haven't heard
0:24
in a long time. From interviews to
0:26
top 10's relevant reviews, guides, way back
0:28
machines and more. It's a great way
0:31
to visit or revisit some of our
0:33
favorite episodes including ones that you have
0:35
suggested that I share from the archives.
0:37
And this week it's Valentine's Day
0:39
possibly the most romantic time of the
0:42
year. Although shouldn't every time of year
0:44
be romantic. Anyway so I wanted to
0:46
bring a little bit of romance and
0:48
maybe some ideas for those last minute
0:50
Valentine's Day gifts for the ones that
0:52
you love or like. And
0:54
so this week I went back into
0:57
the archives to bring you our top
0:59
10 romantic places in Walt Disney World
1:01
from show 619. Whether
1:04
you're celebrating an anniversary, planning a
1:06
surprise proposal, or maybe just looking
1:08
to infuse a little bit of
1:10
extra magic into your time with
1:12
a loved one, this episode is
1:14
going to be a treasure trove
1:17
of romantic inspiration and experiences. You're
1:19
going to discover some free and
1:21
spontaneous romantic moments, unforgettable experiences, and
1:23
some simple yet profound gestures that
1:25
turn every day into a fairy
1:27
tale romance. And of course
1:30
I'd love to hear from you and what you
1:32
think is the most romantic place, restaurant,
1:34
or experience in Walt Disney World.
1:36

1:47
thoughts on the show. But for now, sit
1:56
back, relax,
1:59
and enjoy. this week's episode from
2:01
the archives on the WDW Radio Show.
2:15
I have a confession. I
2:17
am a hopeless,
2:20
unapologetic romantic.
2:23
I believe in fairy tale romances,
2:26
the power of love and not
2:29
just the Huey Lewis song, that
2:31
chivalry is not dead, at least
2:33
not for me, nor will it ever be. I
2:36
believe in giddy
2:38
schoolboy and schoolgirl butterflies and
2:41
that romance isn't and
2:44
should not be limited nor focused just
2:47
to one, arguably potentially
2:49
over-commercialized and sometimes yet
2:52
worthwily expensive single day.
2:55
But with Valentine's Day coming
2:57
up, I think a lot of people
2:59
start thinking about romantic things to do,
3:01
oftentimes gentlemen, usually the morning
3:04
of, places to go and ways
3:06
to celebrate not just a day
3:08
but really relationships and
3:10
romance itself. And
3:12
so this week I thought we would finally,
3:16
literally, I have thought about this for years,
3:19
look at our top 10
3:21
romantic places, spaces
3:24
and things to do in Walt
3:26
Disney World. And
3:28
when I think of romance, of course,
3:30
the first name that comes to mind
3:32
is, no, wait, that
3:35
is, that is so very wrong.
3:37
When I think of top 10s, I
3:40
think of Tim Foster from Celebrations magazine
3:42
and Guide to the Magic. Wow, that
3:44
was awkward. Well,
3:47
I must confess, I'm a little
3:49
sad because when I think
3:51
of when you threw this topic out, I went right
3:53
to, this
3:56
is going to be a really awkward show, you know?
4:00
as if it's not already. It's gonna
4:02
be so much fun. And this is, like
4:04
I said, this is a long requested
4:06
show, is it not? It is, it
4:08
is. And I think we've passed over
4:11
this a few times. We've
4:13
alluded to it in other conversations.
4:16
Oh, sure. But never really
4:18
got down to it. And
4:21
look, like I said, Tim, I am a romantic.
4:23
I am a very sentimental,
4:25
not mental, emotional
4:27
guy. And everything
4:29
that I said at the intro
4:32
about romance and chivalry are
4:34
true. And you said like
4:36
yourself, you're a romantic guy. Have you ever
4:39
done anything that you would
4:41
consider romantic that
4:44
you are comfortable sharing, don't make it
4:46
weirder? Have you ever
4:48
done anything romantic in Walt Disney World? Or
4:50
do you wanna save that for one of your top
4:53
10 entries? Yeah, I
4:55
have. And I'll save it. There's a
4:57
few things I'll talk about. And
5:01
yeah, I'll share them a bit later.
5:04
You know, and I've
5:06
been back and forth on this. And look, I
5:09
say all the time, and this is
5:11
really going to be proof of it,
5:13
that you, the listener, are my friend
5:15
and Tim's. And I want to, excuse
5:17
me, I want to, I'm
5:22
gonna practice what I preach. And I'm going
5:24
to trust you by sharing a story
5:26
that has to do with romance in Walt
5:28
Disney World. I was,
5:30
at one
5:33
time, many, many, many years ago, engaged
5:37
briefly, very briefly, before
5:41
being engaged to the woman I am currently married
5:43
to. And of course, I
5:45
did it in Walt Disney World. It
5:48
was in front of that castle
5:51
cake. It was not as
5:53
I drew it up in my head at all.
5:56
It was not what you see in
5:59
the romantic. movies,
6:01
it lasted less than
6:03
Stitch's supersonic celebration. Well,
6:07
and no, it really was. Anyway,
6:09
measured it, doesn't matter. Anyway,
6:12
I did many of the
6:14
quote-unquote romantic things
6:16
that you're supposed to do, right?
6:18
Including proposing in front of
6:20
Cinderella Castle, sort of.
6:23
Again, didn't go as planned at all.
6:26
Oi. Anyway,
6:29
but I thought it would be
6:31
helpful and valuable to share some
6:34
of the things you can do with someone
6:36
that you like, love, or want
6:38
to love next time you're in Walt Disney
6:40
World. Or if you're listening and you're in
6:43
Walt Disney World right now, you can, it's
6:45
a great way to earn some quick points,
6:47
and there's some of these things you can
6:49
do without a
6:51
lot of planning. And I will tell
6:53
you, Tim, because I know what makes
6:56
you crazy, that everything on my list
6:58
is not just romantic places
7:00
to eat. I thought that
7:02
was almost a little bit too
7:04
easy, but I really wanted to come up
7:06
with some things that will help you look
7:09
like and be a hero or
7:11
heroine to the one you are
7:13
with or the one that you
7:15
love or want to love. You
7:19
didn't eliminate dining entirely. I'm not an animal.
7:21
Of course I'm not good. All right. I
7:24
just want to make sure. But
7:27
I think these are also
7:29
things, you know, we're talking
7:31
about this now because Valentine's Day is coming
7:33
up, but these are things that I think
7:35
you can and should do all
7:37
year long. You can do it on
7:40
a date night. And,
7:42
you know, we're going to talk about
7:44
a bunch of different ways that you can get
7:48
romantic in Walt Disney World
7:50
and celebrate and have
7:52
fun in your relationship, including some
7:55
that I think might be surprising
7:57
too. Again, We
8:00
are aware of the current state
8:02
of things and that COVID procedures,
8:06
protocols, limitations, and even some
8:09
activities are not currently
8:11
available in Walt Disney World. I'm still going
8:13
to allude to some at least on my
8:15
list because the hope is that when you
8:17
are listening to this, COVID will be a
8:19
thing of the past and things will be
8:21
back to quote unquote normal and a lot
8:23
of the things that you can do and
8:25
take advantage of in Walt Disney
8:27
World will be there and will be
8:30
back. But Tim, I am of all
8:32
the top 10s we have done in
8:34
15 plus
8:36
years, this is one
8:38
that I am both intrigued
8:40
and excited and remarkably frightened
8:43
to hear what your idea
8:45
of romance and romantic things
8:47
to do might be. So
8:50
please favor us with your very
8:52
first of what I'm sure will be many go
8:55
with me here's. Well
8:57
this isn't a go with me here so much
8:59
but I was trying to figure out should I
9:02
try to lead with this or save this for
9:04
later but since
9:06
you talked about stories we could share I'll
9:08
kick it off with a story I had
9:10
to share about something I did like
9:14
you back in the day getting engaged
9:17
though as you know I'm
9:19
a single boy looking for love in a
9:21
park and ball by myself but Tim this
9:23
is not a dating app although if you
9:25
want to reach out. I'm just I'm just
9:27
sorry another. No but back
9:30
in the day and actually the tip to be
9:32
taken from this is if you are if
9:35
you're planning a special occasion
9:37
like a surprise proposal or something
9:40
like that or a special anniversary
9:42
celebration or something I
9:44
did it this way and I encourage everybody if
9:48
you are planning something or you're trying
9:50
to plan something special but you don't know quite what
9:52
you want to do don't
9:55
forget and don't be afraid to reach out to if you're
9:58
working with a travel planner travel agent. Lou,
10:01
you've got some great ones you work with,
10:03
or you could even probably call Disney directly.
10:07
In my case, I reached out to a
10:10
travel agent, pal of mine,
10:13
who worked with Disney, told him I wanted to
10:15
do something, had no idea what to do. They
10:17
had all sorts of ideas, and Disney does have
10:19
all kinds of things that
10:21
you can do that you might not know about.
10:23
So definitely ask if you're
10:26
trying to do something. And in my case, what
10:28
I wanted to do, and the way
10:30
it worked out, was
10:32
this was very proposal, not
10:35
in front of Cinderella Castle and the birthday
10:37
cake, which reminds me, that was my first
10:39
trip to Disney when it
10:41
was the birthday cake. And I'm wondering, in
10:44
some weird multiverse way, I
10:46
was standing next to you and you were doing this, and
10:48
who knew? Years later, here we
10:51
go. Trust me, knowing the details of
10:53
my story as I do, you were
10:55
not the screaming family of children that
10:57
were running and jumping all around me.
10:59
I was trying to do it by
11:01
what, never mind. It's okay. Well, that
11:03
was the ruckus, though, going on. Okay.
11:06
It was definitely a ruckus. This
11:08
makes sense now. So
11:11
anyway, the way this happened,
11:14
this is the Grand Floridian, and it was going to be a dinner.
11:17
Now, the ruse that I was pulling was we
11:19
were going to be dining at the Grand Floridian
11:21
Cafe, which is up on my list of romantic
11:23
restaurants, which we'll get back to. Unbeing.
11:28
Wow. Now,
11:31
what the surprise was. Hey,
11:34
hey. No, I'm sorry. One of.
11:37
Oh my gosh. Wow.
11:39
I didn't know we were going to be critical here.
11:42
Okay. All
11:48
right. I'll comment later. Anyway, the surprise was,
11:50
so I explained I would like to do
11:52
something special. One of
11:54
the options that they had was we could arrange for
11:56
a private dinner up on.
12:00
one of the upper floor balconies, sort of
12:02
overlooking the Magic Kingdom, but we could see
12:04
the fireworks. And so
12:07
at the appointed time, we were in the lobby and
12:11
to perpetuate the, uh, the ruse, uh,
12:13
even further, I actually went up to
12:15
the, to the host. This
12:17
is at the Grand Floridian Cafe and explained
12:19
what I was doing. And, but
12:22
she thinks we're going in here. So could
12:24
you give me a pager just to make
12:26
it look convincing? This is where we're
12:29
waiting. And it's actually great when
12:31
you talk to cast members and get them in
12:33
on it. Cause everybody's so happy and excited. They're
12:35
like, Oh yeah. Yeah. And we'll call you. We'll
12:37
like, we'll make it all sound really good. So
12:40
we did that, uh, we're waiting
12:42
and then our private butler wandered over.
12:46
And, uh, the surprise was,
12:48
well, we're not going that way. We're going
12:50
this way. And they
12:52
did the whole nine yards. They had, I
12:54
had a ring that I brought
12:56
with me. They had taken care of, uh,
12:59
purchasing on my behalf, a glass
13:01
slipper, um, which
13:04
they put the ring in, put
13:06
it under a tray, ostensibly the
13:08
dessert tray, brought it out, listed it up. There
13:11
it is written out. Chocolate fireworks are
13:13
going off. It was
13:15
a beautiful occasion. So, and again, one that
13:17
I could only have done with the help
13:19
of one, I travel
13:22
people, friends, and Disney themselves.
13:25
And they, I remember
13:27
actually calling them quite a few times just
13:29
to make sure everything was just so they
13:31
were absolutely wonderful, make sure everything was perfect.
13:33
So it was a
13:35
night I'll never forget. And that's,
13:37
that's my first tip to everybody. If you want
13:39
to do something above and beyond, reach out and
13:41
ask. There's all kinds of stuff you may not
13:43
even know about was there. So
13:48
I was expecting to be surprised,
13:50
but not so pleasantly, Tim Foster.
13:52
Look at you being so romantic.
13:55
I did not expect you to have
13:58
this On my. List
14:00
because I did have sort
14:02
of this indulgence. Best overall
14:04
Bet you probably haven't done
14:06
this yet. Dining experience and
14:08
Walt Disney World as it
14:10
involves a butler not air
14:12
Tim Curry from Clue. But
14:14
if you really want to
14:16
do something extraordinary, an extravagant,
14:18
an indulgent, there's a lot
14:20
of different ways you can
14:22
do that type of butler
14:24
service. I know that and
14:26
again where it was taken
14:28
code as equation. Right now,
14:30
but at Grand Floridian you
14:32
can actually arrange for a
14:34
private dinner at a number
14:37
of different locations. Throughout
14:39
that resort that comes with your
14:41
own special menu and a private
14:43
butler. And like you said, the
14:46
cast members work. Alongside
14:48
you will the want to do
14:50
one of the upper level terraces.
14:52
Do you want who bob be
14:54
over on the lagoon somewhere? And
14:56
yes it can get costly but
14:58
it also can be the. You
15:01
know the best of the best
15:03
of the best of wonderfully romantic,
15:05
memorable like you wanna leave a
15:08
lasting impression on somebody's doing one
15:10
of these private dinners just for
15:12
to idle for years number of
15:15
they still do it anymore. You
15:17
were able to do a private
15:19
dinner for two at the terrorists.
15:22
At The Twilight Zone. Tower
15:24
Of Terror? Yes. I. Said
15:26
something about a wedding. Party.
15:29
That had like. Not. The wedding
15:31
but a. Bridal. Shower something
15:33
their. Yeah that I mean look
15:35
at expensive right about if if and this is
15:38
and but yeah it's It's good that we give
15:40
this one as the way like this is the
15:42
adult when it does does if money is no
15:44
object like. Disney can do
15:46
it. you know? if you say look. Yep!
15:49
I have a budget of this. What
15:51
can you do? What can you do
15:54
to wow me? Disney will wow you
15:56
with him to Disney will do things
15:58
moon that can knock yourself. Robin.
16:00
If you want to have dinner for two.
16:02
in all after hours at an attraction, I'm
16:04
sure they could make that happen. I'm in
16:07
Illinois so maybe it's good that we sort
16:09
of get this of the way I am
16:11
on out of the where the I will
16:13
scale back a good wow I'm able a
16:15
things on my list that are actually free
16:17
to do. To. Feel
16:20
free things. But. It was nice or
16:22
that the icing on the cake though proverbial
16:24
I see on the cake whether year while
16:26
in our case. As we leave
16:28
and the other cast members or again
16:30
so wonderful gradually. To.
16:33
I just got engaged buttons. That
16:36
we could wear for the rest of the trip. Which.
16:38
Scored us even more. Free.
16:40
Cupcakes and free to search and feel.
16:42
They. Of or
16:45
if you're celebrating and anniversary get
16:47
a happy anniversary button or just
16:49
marry you know with at the
16:51
same expensive very cupcakes. So it
16:53
depends on your point of view
16:55
right? But it's worth it. And
16:58
look, I'm I'm a kind of
17:00
person that if something and somebody
17:02
is worth it like I never
17:04
begrudge. Spending. The Money on
17:06
something that is going to be an
17:08
amazing meal and incredible trip by a
17:10
a wonderful memories must if it involves
17:13
you know, my kids or something like
17:15
that, you know if I'm able to
17:17
do it So. Very.
17:20
Good. Wow So
17:22
now I almost feel like how do
17:24
I follow that up? As as well
17:26
known I have the birthday cake castles
17:28
home in Iraq. Stop bringing that up
17:30
It still it still is. Neither am
17:32
I still get get the heebie jeebies.
17:34
My think I saw this sub. Not
17:37
really. It all worked out for the
17:39
best. Yes it so. I.
17:41
Are here. Okay so ominous or of take
17:43
the idea of it will do. We said
17:46
we're not gonna tell my dining first. we
17:48
will talk about donning first because you don't
17:50
necessarily have to do the full blown. stereotypical
17:54
romantic dinner somewhere not and yes
17:56
we will get to them but
17:58
i think that there's ways especially
18:00
if you're going to Walt Disney World chances
18:02
are you or both of you are Disney
18:06
enthusiasts and maybe you want to spend
18:08
some time in the parks without maybe
18:10
don't want to do a full sit
18:12
down meal and look admittedly
18:14
I am not a big drinker at
18:16
all so I'm going to swap out
18:18
you know and
18:22
you could do either or both what
18:24
I'm calling either like
18:27
a tasting around the world whether it
18:29
is a wine tasting around the world
18:31
it is a culinary tasting around the
18:33
world I think something simple
18:36
and romantic that you don't have
18:38
to worry about overly planning is
18:41
going to world showcase
18:44
like especially if you do it anytime I just
18:46
write and the weather is beautiful and the sun
18:48
is just starting to set and you can do
18:51
it on a weekday so it's not crowded and
18:53
you visit each pavilion and
18:56
you sample a wine
18:58
or a beer or a snack or
19:00
a food item if you prefer
19:03
from each of the country so you
19:05
almost can do these little wine and
19:08
cheese plates or a beer and pretzel
19:10
plate or so you craft
19:12
your own sort of mini menus
19:15
as you go around because it's
19:17
less about the food
19:19
that you're eating and and what
19:21
you're drinking than the time that
19:23
you're spending together the the experiential
19:26
aspect of it is really
19:29
what is the the
19:31
romantic part you know
19:33
holding hands in theory as
19:35
you walk through world showcase having
19:38
fun as you are expanding your
19:40
culinary palette maybe learning about some
19:42
different wines and beers it's
19:45
simple and it's fun and I
19:47
think that too could be romantic
19:49
without it being prohibitively expensive as
19:51
well what's
19:53
your most romantic world
19:56
showcase pavilion wow
19:58
that's a great question I
20:03
think it depends how and
20:05
where you spend it because
20:07
there is something just inherently
20:09
romantic about France
20:12
at night with the music
20:14
in Paris and it's this
20:16
city of lights and love.
20:20
We know my affinity for the Japan
20:22
pavilion. Look I think one
20:24
of my personal favorite alone spots could
20:27
also be one of my favorite romance
20:29
spots sitting up in
20:31
Japan outside Ketsura Grill all
20:33
the way in the back corner with your
20:36
back up to the bamboo forest with
20:38
the soft hanging lanterns
20:40
above you and the waterfall in front of
20:43
you and that view of the
20:45
promenade and the music in the background is an
20:48
incredibly romantic spot that you
20:50
might not necessarily think of because
20:53
it's not this formal
20:55
get dressed up sit
20:57
down dining location. You
21:00
know it's interesting because I was as I
21:02
was going through my list trying to think
21:04
of spots I was I found myself repeating
21:08
a lot of the same locations we
21:10
would have talked about in you
21:12
know favorite places to relax or
21:14
most magical places we've been that
21:17
sort of thing and
21:20
which I thought no I'm going
21:22
to repeat myself but then it
21:24
rang true because these places in
21:26
the Japan pavilion my friend no
21:28
surprise on my list too as a place
21:31
to be but
21:34
I think the thing to take away from
21:36
that is that these places are so special to
21:40
us and relaxing and magical part
21:42
of what makes a romantic
21:44
place so romantic is you sharing the
21:46
experience with that person that you love
21:49
so it only makes sense that the
21:52
places we think of as
21:54
the most magical relaxing and wonderful
21:57
are those places I want to share
21:59
with somebody. So yeah,
22:01
whether I'm sitting alone in the Japan
22:03
Pavilion or wandering
22:06
through France or
22:08
the courtyard in the UK Pavilion or
22:10
whatnot, it's
22:14
magical by yourself in a way, but just so much
22:16
more when you're with somebody,
22:18
of course. Okay,
22:20
so where, what is next on your list in
22:22
terms of romantic places? Well, I have things to
22:25
do. I was walking. Well,
22:28
we'll keep walking because you kind of led
22:30
me to that. One
22:34
of my favorite just
22:36
romantic activities period is just walking
22:39
around, like you said, hand in
22:42
hand at a, not down Main
22:44
Street as everyone's rushing out of the
22:46
park, but in that quiet place off
22:48
by yourself, invariably
22:51
at night when the lights are
22:53
out, the music is playing, the crowds are a little
22:55
less. World Showcase was
22:57
first up on my list of places to
22:59
walk around, and I actually love walking around
23:01
and done this a few times during
23:03
the Flower and Garden Festival. Well,
23:06
all the festivals with Flower and Garden,
23:08
because hey, flowers, and it's free to
23:11
smell the flowers. And
23:14
you know, Disney's done, as
23:17
we know, a better job. It's evening
23:19
out the crowds throughout the year, but many
23:22
times you can be there when it's less
23:24
crowded. That would be great. And we
23:26
can all remember back in the day when you could go in
23:29
March and April and it'd be not too crowded,
23:31
not too hot yet. The flowers are out. And
23:34
that's a wonderful time to walk around. But
23:36
I also like walking around Crescent Lake. By
23:41
the world, they'd be the Epcot Resorts, just
23:43
walking along the boardwalk, no particular place to
23:46
go. But in the evening, you can see
23:48
the lights playfully
23:52
dancing off the ripples in the lake.
23:54
Oh, that's romantic. I
23:56
love, love one of my favorite places
23:59
to walk. period is
24:01
that the
24:04
walkway that leads under the bridge
24:06
going to the international gateway, which
24:08
is straight out of Ratatouille and
24:10
walking around in Paris to me.
24:14
And best of all, if you time it right, you can
24:17
find yourself on that bridge, but on
24:19
the top and have
24:22
a nice quiet place with just a few
24:24
people around to watch the fireworks
24:26
that evening, whether it was illuminations and
24:28
days gone by or harmonious and years
24:30
to come. That's
24:32
a wonderful place to
24:36
spend with somebody because one,
24:38
you have the spectacle of the fireworks, you have all
24:40
of the ambiance and
24:43
the beauty of the resorts and the lights around
24:45
you. But it's in a not very crowded place.
24:47
You're out of the park, you're away from the
24:49
crowds, but you can still hear the music from
24:52
the France Pavilion. And it all adds up to
24:54
be one of my most favorite
24:56
beloved locations in all of all Disney World
24:59
that I really love spending with someone special.
25:03
I love it. All walking sounds exhausting.
25:06
Well, I'm sorry. Get
25:09
a surly bike. Oh my God. Those
25:12
hills are killer. It's
25:14
like an endurance event for me doing that. No,
25:17
you sit in the back or you do distract
25:19
enough that you get away. You kind of fake
25:21
a pedaling motion once in a while, but you're
25:23
not doing the thing. It's so romantic here, honey.
25:26
You pedal. You pedal around. Yeah.
25:29
And yeah. Well,
25:31
you did say something which actually leads me
25:33
to something that is
25:36
on my list multiple times. I'm
25:38
going to sort of combine them here into one because I think
25:41
the water is romantic.
25:44
I love walking
25:46
by the water, being on the water,
25:48
sitting on a beach or a lake
25:51
or dining waterside. And
25:53
I think that Walt Disney World, something that
25:55
is an overlooked experience and maybe even more
25:57
so over the past. number
26:00
of years. Look, when Walt Disney World opened, it
26:02
was billed as the vacation kingdom of the world.
26:05
Meaning that Disney wanted, and
26:08
because it was only one park, you had a lot more
26:10
time, to really take advantage
26:12
of the resort. And I think that
26:14
it's starting to happen
26:16
again, where people are starting to spend more and more
26:18
time. And one of, I think, the
26:21
most wonderful ways and romantic ways to
26:23
do that is by being on
26:26
the water. And it's by renting a boat
26:28
or renting a kayak
26:30
or a canoe. There's a lot of
26:32
different options that you
26:34
have that you can either drive
26:38
or control on your own, or
26:42
you could be taken out. So,
26:44
for example, there are a number
26:46
of different motorized boat options at
26:48
Yotten Beach Club, Polynesian, Grand Floridian,
26:51
Contemporary, Fort Wilderness. There
26:53
are sea racers. There are those little two-person
26:56
boats. There are Boston
26:59
whalers you could take out as well. There's also,
27:01
I mean, if you really want to, you
27:03
know, go all out, you could rent
27:06
the Grand One for a specialty cruise.
27:08
We'll get back to that later on.
27:10
But there's also canoe rentals and kayaks
27:12
at Fort Wilderness. There are the
27:15
Sun Tracker pontoon boats you
27:18
can take out as well. And I think that there is
27:21
something about doing
27:23
that activity together, you sort
27:26
of having control over the experience.
27:28
We talk about things like immersive
27:30
and interactive and us sort of
27:32
not being passive observers. Getting into
27:34
your own boat and going around,
27:37
you know, Seven Seas Lagoon or Bay
27:39
Lake or wherever it might be is
27:42
such a great opportunity to
27:45
do that in a much simpler
27:47
form where you're not sitting waiting in
27:49
a queue to get on an attraction
27:53
to get off and sort of have that limited
27:55
experience. And look, and it's not that expensive at
27:57
all. For example, the sea racers and these
28:00
prices or object obviously is subject to change. A
28:02
sea racer is like $30 for a half hour.
28:04
I think the Boston Whaler
28:07
is like $45, but the kayaks
28:09
are like $13. The kayaks and
28:11
the canoes are like $13
28:14
at Fort Wilderness for an hour. I
28:16
think it's per adult. So for like 25 bucks, you know, less
28:20
than $30, you can go out for an
28:22
hour kayaking, having fun,
28:25
and just sort of spending that,
28:27
you know, wonderful. I don't want,
28:29
you know, I'm not making
28:31
fun of when I sail, but you can. You
28:33
can spend some of that simple bonding time together,
28:35
and I think the water is a beautiful place
28:38
to do it. I,
28:41
yeah, I love being on the water,
28:43
which is, yes,
28:46
very romantic. I was
28:48
going to talk about fireworks, cruises, and stuff. I
28:50
have a story to share about that. Of course
28:52
you do. But before
28:54
that, speaking of boats, though,
28:56
one of my favorite things to do, has
29:00
to do with boats, and this one's
29:02
actually free. So you
29:04
don't have to pay for this. Although the cruises
29:07
are fantastic, if you can't arrange
29:09
one, or like you say, get
29:11
a boat and go out on your own piloting
29:13
around, that's fun. But if
29:16
you don't have that available to you, or if it's a
29:18
last minute thing, the launch
29:20
boats at Disney, we've talked about so
29:22
many times as one of our favorite
29:24
things to do. And
29:26
there are lots of
29:28
launch boats of various sizes
29:31
and shapes, of course. My
29:33
favorites, though, from a just
29:36
immersing yourself in the magic of Disney
29:38
and being in a romantic location,
29:42
would be the smaller boats,
29:45
especially the ones that go between the
29:47
Grand Floridian and the
29:49
Polynesian in the Magic Kingdom. And
29:51
similarly, the boats that go from, not
29:56
The Magic Kingdom to the Wilderness Lodge, but the ones
29:58
that go from the Wilderness Lodge. Large to
30:00
the contemporary to the campground. the once the
30:02
go in the circle and eight these are
30:04
smaller boats other not the big. Ah,
30:07
you know. Chugging big
30:10
boats that everybody's crowded into.
30:12
Ab. And as long as you're not going. We.
30:14
Know at the end of the day when there's you
30:17
know, hundred people in a good any or boat if
30:19
you do it either off time. And. Lot
30:21
of times in get that both. Say.
30:23
Sometimes to yourself, I've been in that situation
30:25
or actually very late at night. That
30:29
happens to am. And
30:31
ethic from going to the Magic Kingdom over
30:33
to the Grand Floridian, that's that's my favorite
30:35
boat root of all, but I'm. From
30:38
there you can see. In
30:40
The Lights of the Magic Kingdom and
30:42
also The Lights of. The
30:45
Grand Floridian and the and the
30:47
Polynesian reflecting on a water you
30:49
see. If you
30:51
time it right, you can actually see the fireworks.
30:54
And which is one of
30:57
those serendipitous moments, but especially
30:59
at night and. It.
31:01
Doesn't take long for you. Once you
31:03
leave the doctor feel like you are
31:05
worlds away from everywhere? Am. Which
31:08
is. A truly astonishing thing to
31:10
do when just moments ago you were solid
31:12
shoulder with ten thousand of your closest friends
31:14
on Main Street watching the fireworks. But. Getting
31:17
on a cruise Durga mother's. Even
31:20
the launch boats it's you far away from
31:22
everybody and atilla specially the wilderness lodge boats
31:24
and specially night if you go behind discovery
31:27
eyelid that you're out by yourself and you
31:29
get the anything and it's scary it ah
31:31
hey but that's romantic to hold my hand
31:33
and scared you them as that's a good
31:36
movie. And the but the
31:38
sorry I'll tell that this is one
31:40
you can't plan but this get get
31:42
kind of a and of this is
31:44
disingenuous of me to say but one
31:46
of the. Great. Or
31:49
mansukh things I would suggest people.
31:51
Is hard to suggest because it's those not play.
31:54
and moments you know the ones that you
31:56
just happened to login to but you'll remember
31:58
them for the rest year So it's
32:00
kind of a fair thing to not
32:02
fair thing to throw out there. It's just not like you can plan
32:05
for it, but But in this
32:07
case for example We
32:09
were at the Grand Floridian the
32:11
Grand Floridian is going to come up quite a bit and
32:14
show Lou I'm warning you now But
32:17
we went out the back. We went to Gasparilla's got
32:19
a couple cupcakes and went out. We were just going
32:21
to watch the fireworks But
32:25
a boat pilot wandered by and
32:27
and you don't remember when you're
32:30
outside of Gasparilla's you're right near the boat
32:32
dock and He
32:34
asked how we were doing and we
32:36
were doing fine and here marked. I
32:38
have to do a Take
32:41
this boat out for a little
32:43
maintenance run. How'd you like a fireworks
32:45
cruise? Are
32:47
you serious? Yeah, I have to
32:49
go anyway. I got blankets okay,
32:53
so We
32:56
went he had another couple sitting there So
32:58
just totally random out of the
33:00
blue can't plan for it, but we got
33:03
a personal Fireworks cruise who
33:05
went down the seven seas lagoon stopped in
33:07
the middle watched the whole show It
33:10
was great. So that It's
33:12
not a fair thing for me to bring up because it
33:14
is one of the most romantic things I've done, but it
33:16
wasn't one I could have planned for or or you
33:20
know figured out how to do an advanced short
33:22
of renting a boat like you had mentioned but
33:26
So clearly when you did it in Boston
33:28
Romance fortune shines upon you things happen. Yeah,
33:31
you know, I was there was one I
33:33
wanted to include I was gonna mention it
33:35
separately But I think it probably makes more
33:37
sense to include it here as long as
33:39
we're talking about boats and telling boat stories
33:42
Look at this not so subtle transition over to
33:44
the boat house And I'm
33:46
not going to talk about having dinner there,
33:48
but there's not one but two Different
33:52
boat rentals that you can do there
33:55
One are the little amphicars those
33:57
little sort of 50s looking cars
34:00
right on the boat ramp right
34:02
next to Boat House where you
34:05
can fit as many as three people in there
34:07
and they take you on a little tour of
34:10
the lake behind Boat House and sort
34:12
of the waterway that goes down
34:15
by paddle fish
34:17
and then across to Saratoga
34:21
Springs Resort and you can book a
34:23
tour. It's like $125 I think
34:26
for up to three people but if
34:28
you really want to sort of turn
34:30
the romance up to 11 to
34:33
foster as clearly I know you like
34:35
to do. You can
34:37
also book the Venetia which
34:40
is a 40-foot breathtakingly
34:43
beautiful elegant
34:45
40-foot Italian water
34:47
taxi and the
34:49
boat house is captain and crew
34:51
will take you out on a
34:53
journey through the waters of Lake
34:55
Buena Vista and the scenic Riverway
34:57
again I'm a romantic you can
34:59
do it at sunset it's amazing
35:02
and they'll bring out chocolate-covered strawberries a
35:04
champagne toast you can do you know
35:06
other food as well so if you
35:08
want to do something for your anniversary
35:11
and listen that the
35:13
knee the the the castle engagement
35:15
thing has been done been there
35:17
done that you want to do
35:19
an engagement that he she will
35:21
never forget the Venetia
35:24
again not the least expensive
35:27
thing that you could do
35:29
but relatively speaking a three-hour
35:31
rental is $500 so
35:33
comparing against some of the other the cost
35:35
of some of the others it
35:37
is an indulgent thing but again it's something
35:40
that you can only do here and
35:42
that doesn't include food and drink you
35:44
can add that on I have actually
35:46
done this in the past I actually
35:48
took the speakers out for momentum last
35:51
year two years ago I don't
35:53
know we went out on on
35:55
Venetia I was on it once
35:57
before it is a beautiful beautiful
36:00
thing and there's a truly memorable
36:04
special special event that you can do and you
36:06
can find out more and you can book it
36:08
by going to the boathouse or or going to
36:10
the boathouse's website i
36:13
can't wait i'm still waiting for my first
36:16
time to go to the boathouse i
36:19
promise i can't promise you the venetia but i
36:21
can promise you boathouse okay
36:23
but we did have dessert there wait i
36:26
forgot about that what
36:28
did you forget you
36:31
did take me to the boathouse so
36:33
what you're saying you're off the hook all these
36:35
years that you've been complaining that i've never taken
36:37
you there you now are admitting
36:40
that i did you
36:42
did and not only that because
36:45
you're you i
36:47
don't know what that means american's
36:49
guest you
36:53
were able to score
36:55
the entire new dessert menu
36:57
in one shot for us
37:00
to enjoy so it was
37:02
a tasting it was a tasting okay
37:05
you had to roll me out of there but it
37:07
wasn't listen if you roll out a boathouse that means
37:09
you did it right you did it right yes so
37:13
we love our time on the water uh
37:15
time on or in the water where else will
37:18
you go next or is it or is it
37:20
technically my turn i don't know uh
37:24
i think it's technically your turn
37:26
okay so i
37:28
think whether you are
37:31
visiting walt disney world and staying at
37:33
a resort or if you're local and want
37:35
to do something special and have a
37:37
little staycation i think
37:39
there are as we're talking about ways that
37:41
you can plus your experience and
37:44
i think one of the things to
37:46
do is it's not necessarily
37:48
where you'll stay and we'll talk about that
37:51
i'm sure but things you can do in
37:53
your room as well and
37:56
disney floral and gifts has
37:59
an incredible array of
38:01
very romantic in
38:03
room surprises, touches,
38:06
flowers, and gifts that
38:09
they can bring and have
38:11
even ready for you when you check
38:13
in at your hotel.
38:15
Anything from cakes
38:17
that could be personalized and decorated
38:20
to gift baskets, floral arrangements,
38:23
they'll do a rose petal
38:25
turn down service with champagne
38:27
and cheese and chocolates and
38:29
you can get embroidered Mickey
38:31
robes. I mean you really
38:33
can take the
38:35
in-room celebration to
38:38
whatever sort of level that you
38:41
want. Whether it's something as simple
38:43
as you know
38:45
a small floral arrangement,
38:47
the bed of roses with champagne,
38:49
balloons, whatever it might be. And
38:51
again you're limited by
38:54
your and Disney's imagination and
38:57
budget but you can have
38:59
cakes delivered and
39:02
they have a number of allergy free items
39:04
as well too. So I think
39:08
doing something in your
39:10
room, having that surprise right it's about
39:12
sort of that surprise and delight where
39:14
especially if you have that
39:16
incredibly exciting check-in moment and you're just
39:18
thrilled to be there but
39:20
like Disney you're able to
39:22
exceed expectations and the door
39:24
opens and that balloon bouquet
39:27
is there or if there's
39:29
this Valentine basket with chocolates
39:31
or a dozen
39:33
or a dozen dozen roses,
39:35
whatever you know
39:37
fits for you. I think some of the floral
39:39
and gift things that you can do and you
39:42
get a search for Disney floral and
39:44
gifts and I've worked with them in
39:46
the you know in the past and
39:48
they are just not just only wonderful
39:51
to work with but incredibly creative
39:53
and will make that trip,
39:55
that staycation, that night, that
39:58
moment even more. more
40:00
special than you could have imagined. Yeah,
40:03
that's, I love that. And
40:05
that goes back to when I had
40:07
the dining experience, if like working with
40:09
Disney, like I said, they have so many great, so
40:12
many great ideas and they're so creative. They'll think of
40:14
things you could never think of, which
40:17
is great. I do, I do remember once though, being
40:20
surprised in my room by a, a,
40:22
a cold. I
40:24
don't know if this was a romantic gesture, but
40:26
it's a nice cold case of Dr. Pepper soda,
40:28
like a 12 pack. I sent that to you.
40:30
That was my, that was my gift. You did
40:32
use that card. Get lost. Yeah.
40:35
The card. No, I know it was from you, but, uh, yeah, good
40:39
stuff. Um, my next
40:41
one is a little
40:44
different. So, uh, I have no idea
40:48
if this is still something you can do. I'm
40:51
not even at with everything going
40:53
on, but I don't even know going forward, but one
40:56
of the, and again, I did this.
40:58
And it was very, very, very romantic thing.
41:01
Um, was a horse
41:04
drawn carriage, sleigh
41:06
slash sleigh, um, which
41:09
you could do over at the Fort wilderness
41:11
campground and you could do, they
41:13
have the haunted hay ride versions you could do. They
41:16
also had Christmas ones, which is the one I did.
41:19
And again, Lou, I have no idea this year, obviously not,
41:21
but I don't even know going forward if this is still
41:23
something you can do or we'll
41:26
know. I don't know if you know for sure. I
41:29
believe that the carriage
41:31
rides might still be
41:33
on hold. I, I, maybe, well,
41:35
hopefully come back as of, as of this
41:37
recording. Um, and you can
41:39
do this. Uh, I haven't done this, but correct me
41:41
if I'm wrong, this is something you can also do
41:43
over at Port Orleans as well. Or you
41:45
could do. Um, but anyway, the one, the,
41:48
the one we did, so this was a, this
41:50
was at Christmas. And,
41:52
uh, it was a horse
41:55
drawn sleigh ride sleigh ride with no snow.
41:57
Hey, it's Florida, it's Disney. It's magic. But
42:01
in this case, which you did, you went around
42:04
the campgrounds at
42:07
Christmas, which was very cool because all
42:10
the people that are staying there
42:13
all have great traditions and decorations of
42:15
decorating their own campsites in their own
42:17
way. So it's like
42:19
you're going around your neighborhood or
42:22
going – like we
42:24
have a tradition at Christmas, we always go on
42:27
Christmas Eve or that weekend nearest to it.
42:31
Well, just drive around random
42:33
neighborhoods just to look at Christmas lights. But
42:35
this is the Disney version of it with
42:38
the clip-clopping of the horses in front
42:40
of you. You're a friendly
42:44
driver. Whoever time I think of
42:46
him, I just can't help but thinking of
42:48
Kramer on Seinfeld when he was driving Susan's
42:51
parents around. That's another story. You don't feed the horse
42:53
chili. That's all I'm saying. Beefareno
42:57
is not a good – yeah, not a
42:59
good – what do you feed that thing?
43:03
But – unless you get the wrong idea.
43:05
That does not happen on the sleigh ride.
43:08
But it's – so
43:10
it being Christmas time, if
43:13
you happen to hit it at the right
43:15
time, it's usually cool. I know it's Florida.
43:17
It could still be 87 degrees
43:20
in December. But
43:22
I know for us, it was chilly enough that we had
43:25
– they have blankets and hot chocolate
43:27
and all that. And you can do
43:31
the whole thing upright. And
43:33
it was fantastic because you're –
43:36
it's just the two of you,
43:38
you're off deep into the campground, so
43:40
you're away from everybody, away from the
43:42
crowds. You see all the Christmas lights
43:44
around. You're under – cozying under the
43:47
blanket. It's nice and chilly. That
43:49
was a very romantic thing I could do. And
43:52
again, not sure if you – well, it's obviously
43:54
not Christmas anymore. But hopefully next year at
43:58
Christmas. Halloween, although
44:00
I think Halloween hasn't been going on
44:02
for a while, I'm not sure. But
44:06
always check because they're available. They can
44:08
also, they have various
44:11
horse carriage and riding activities
44:13
over at Port Orleans as well. So
44:16
if you like that kind of thing, that's
44:18
available at
44:21
least at those two places and very
44:24
romantic. Especially
44:27
if you bring along some chocolate
44:29
covered strawberries. Wow, look
44:31
at you Tim. Look at you. You're
44:36
like a walking tinder ad right now because I
44:38
just I can hear the swooning going on. It
44:40
was on my list and I agree when it
44:42
comes back it's something simple
44:45
and wonderful and elegant to do. Much
44:48
like what is next on my list
44:50
which is the afternoon tea at Grand
44:52
Floridian. Oh yes. I think
44:54
this and this can be both
44:57
a romantic and non-romanting experience. However
45:00
you choose to enjoy it.
45:02
I actually did a live review
45:04
of this back on show 435
45:07
with a long time friend of mine Emma
45:10
from the United Kingdom. And between
45:13
the atmosphere, the elegance, the
45:15
music, the simplicity, the finger
45:17
sandwiches, the tea, the cakes,
45:19
the scones all
45:22
on this wonderful traditional
45:24
afternoon tea platter.
45:28
And again it has this wonderful sliding
45:31
scale really of how
45:34
much you might want to do it. I
45:36
think that the smallest amount
45:38
might have been like $35 like
45:41
for a certain thing. But you
45:43
could then add champagne
45:46
to it. You can do one that
45:48
includes all the sandwiches and scones and
45:51
caviar and a accoutrement
45:53
as you will with your
45:56
choice of pots of tea. Either
45:58
way it was a We sat
46:00
there for a couple of hours. It
46:03
was so
46:06
simple, yet it felt
46:10
so fancy and indulgent. You know, it's
46:12
one of these things that you can
46:14
do obviously in the afternoon. And if
46:16
you want to dress for afternoon tea
46:18
with someone that you like or love,
46:20
you can do it, or if you
46:22
want to come from the park and
46:24
go in, either is
46:26
perfectly acceptable. The food was
46:29
delicious. I love the
46:31
little cucumber sandwiches and that they have like this sweet
46:35
curry chicken and little egg
46:37
salads. So nice. I need to
46:39
go back and do it again. Again,
46:42
I did not go in a
46:44
romantic context, but it is a
46:47
very, very romantic, wonderful, and I
46:49
think also overlooked thing
46:51
to do for potentially not
46:54
a huge amount of money if you don't want to spend it.
46:57
Well, let's spend some more time in
46:59
the Grand Floridian because actually
47:03
one of my questions – I was going to pose to
47:05
you much like Dr. Beaux. I will go with you to
47:07
– Thank you. You
47:09
know what they were doing? Wait. I think
47:11
one – I had an idea. I want to go
47:13
back and show you. We're going to do an afternoon tea. Oh,
47:15
no. I was going to give it away as like a contest
47:18
prize. I mean – Like I'll
47:20
take a – I mean that's wonderful. Yes.
47:22
And you can't win. Oh, wait. Maybe we'll
47:24
all go like while you're there. Yeah.
47:28
I mean I'm not going to wait that long, but we can go
47:30
back all the way there. Whenever that will be again, but – All
47:35
right. So I'm sorry. We're staying at the Grand
47:37
Floridian. We're staying at the Grand Floridian. Well, here's
47:40
a question because I asked you what you thought
47:42
the most romantic world showcase pavilion was. How can
47:44
you choose? But speaking
47:46
of resorts, what
47:48
would you say is the most romantic
47:51
resort? And really only two come to mind
47:53
for me. But you might have some honorable
47:56
mentions. So I think
47:58
we literally could do a – 10
48:00
romantic resorts at Walt Disney World
48:03
because I do not agree that
48:05
there's only two that come to mind. I
48:08
was hoping you wouldn't. So I'm
48:10
curious on your list is
48:12
Grand Floridian and what was the other one?
48:14
Well for me the wilderness lodge is the
48:16
other. Okay. For a variety
48:19
of reasons but but
48:21
like you mentioned there's any
48:23
any of the resorts can be romantic in
48:25
the right setting of course so but
48:28
while we're talking about the Grand Floridian since we're
48:30
there already I had a couple other items on
48:33
my list that revolved around that resort so we
48:35
might as well just do it all in one
48:37
shot here. One thing
48:40
I was trying to think of was as
48:42
far as restaurants go and when we do
48:44
get to dining what
48:47
my answer
48:49
would be for the most romantic restaurant
48:51
and I will preface this
48:53
by admitting I have not
48:55
been asked nor have taken anybody to Victoria
48:57
and Albert so that's not on my list
49:00
but certainly would be up there but me
49:03
answering that question I would stick
49:06
with the Grand Floridian and go Narcoses
49:08
or the Grand Floridian Cafe and I
49:10
think the Grand Floridian Cafe just not
49:14
being priced or anything but it's just
49:16
it's so beautiful and
49:19
it's it's it's
49:21
pretty wide open so it doesn't take much especially
49:23
if you go at kind of an off time
49:26
to be sitting
49:28
right by the window and of course
49:30
you're surrounded by the Victorian decorations
49:32
and the elegant play settings and
49:34
the wonderful wonderful food and
49:38
a server that may
49:40
very well sing you a special anniversary
49:42
song if he you mentioned
49:45
that's the case I forget his name I would tell you
49:47
to ask for him but he's there he's
49:49
a good guy but
49:52
also the Grand Floridian just
49:55
sitting in the lobby you know when you're
49:57
talking about what can you do romantically that
50:00
you didn't plan ahead for, you didn't reserve
50:02
that cruise, you didn't plan this
50:05
dinner six months ahead of time. If
50:07
you simply just going to the
50:09
Grand Floridian lobby and
50:12
relaxing, listening to the
50:14
piano player, listening to the orchestra,
50:19
if it's Christmas looking at the Christmas
50:21
tree and the gingerbread house. But
50:24
again, if you go, you know, hopefully you
50:27
can get there, it's not overly crowded, get
50:29
a nice place to sit and just relax. You
50:31
can spend so much time there. Even if you're going
50:34
to be dining at the cafe
50:36
or in our cozies or Citra Coz
50:38
or wherever, going
50:41
ahead of time, you know, an hour,
50:43
a half hour ahead of time and
50:45
just relaxing is
50:47
great because
50:49
it's obviously very beautiful romantic
50:53
resort, how it's decorated and all
50:55
the things you can look at. The
50:57
other thing that's actually
50:59
I was going to ask you this is another
51:01
question. If you're there, particularly I feel like in
51:03
the afternoon more so. You
51:05
may witness some
51:08
romance playing out in front of you as a
51:11
wedding party comes down the stairs
51:13
for their photos accompanied by Mickey
51:15
and Minnie in their
51:17
finest wedding attire. Or
51:23
we were there once and we saw an
51:25
impromptu in the middle
51:27
of the lobby ball with princesses
51:29
and their princesses in which everybody
51:31
could join in. So you
51:34
never know what you might happen
51:37
upon if you're sitting there. And
51:40
then finally shopping, window
51:44
shopping and the
51:46
Grand Floridian is one of my
51:48
favorite places. Of course, shopping at
51:51
the jewelry store on Main Street
51:53
USA and the Emporium is
51:56
nice too. But you know, there can
51:59
be a lot of people. People in there and you may
52:01
be a little hot from walking around the park, but
52:03
if you're. If. You're just
52:05
relaxing. Say. Going for dinner
52:07
program for rating for example are launching
52:10
Go Shopping Our to Atlas I as
52:12
your friend I have to stand on
52:14
I have to help you but what
52:16
would I do I have never seen
52:18
somebody gain and lose points so fast
52:20
as you did. You. Know Lives
52:22
and I quote i'm Gonna have I'm gonna have
52:24
this demographer readers back from the oh Now I
52:26
know I feel bad that when you said. Go
52:30
Shopping You. We can go shopping.
52:32
Take her shopping. Window. Shopping.
52:34
There's a huge difference between take
52:36
somebody softball and then disappointed with
52:38
no no honey I put that
52:40
bring down i'm and window shopping.
52:42
Big difference.what I met wow by
52:45
wanted to be clear. That
52:47
are right, Now.
52:50
Browsing around know I we've had many
52:52
at it, like in advance of a
52:54
dinner or something like that going around.
52:56
Sticking to the Grand Floridian going as
52:58
such. whether or not we're buying anything
53:00
but going, it's like base and white.
53:03
This. Than the always go to base and
53:05
way try out get some of that sugar
53:07
scrub and. Yeah was
53:09
it it sounds silly but his ear
53:11
both doing it it's It's a little
53:13
elegant. it's a little feared see it's
53:15
candidate You go over to the others
53:17
shops and look at things like wishful
53:19
things like if you are going to
53:21
take me out one which one would
53:24
you pick. And then you
53:26
play that. Game. But then. The
53:28
next day. You. Pick it up on
53:30
the sly. And. You bring it to the
53:32
next in an easy route was going with that. Now.
53:35
I do know now years and I you're ruining. See
53:37
it. There's there's, there's, There's.
53:40
A There's a. I don't want
53:42
to say plane that sounds devious, but. It's
53:44
all for gets off for good. Only
53:47
to recover. But the whole, but the whole
53:49
experts. Basically the whole experience with the Grand
53:51
Floridian. Top. To bottom the monorail,
53:53
the doors, everything else. And.
53:55
Cuddling up by the fire places are
53:58
the upper levels of the wilderness. I
54:00
will throw that in there. So
54:02
you know, I was actually going to piggyback
54:05
on that because I do have a
54:07
list of romantic resorts and rooms, but
54:09
you know what, Tim? I
54:11
do want to save this as a separate
54:13
top 10 because I have a few in
54:15
there that I think not
54:17
only might surprise you, but
54:19
you might not even know exists. Interesting.
54:24
Interesting. Because there,
54:26
and I agree that any resort you
54:28
look, and part of the
54:30
takeaway of this whole thing is going to be
54:32
you can make your trip romantic without
54:35
having to specifically plan
54:37
or pay for anything
54:40
to make it romantic on your own.
54:42
And I think that holds true for
54:44
your resort as well. There's a lot
54:46
of things that you can do. Surprises.
54:48
Look, I'm, and I know
54:51
I drive my family crazy with this.
54:53
I love surprises. Like I love surprising
54:55
people, whether it's with a gift or
54:57
just something unexpected. Like that could be
54:59
something simple and romantic that you do,
55:01
right? Bring some things that you purchased
55:03
at home so you don't have to
55:06
worry about, you know, trying to sneak
55:08
away and every day, you know, have
55:10
a little surprise for them when they
55:12
wake up with maybe a clue as
55:14
to someplace that you're going somewhere that
55:17
you're eating, a little trinket
55:19
or a little item that gives a
55:21
hint of what is to come from
55:24
the next day, someplace
55:26
else that you might go. I
55:28
love those little things that make
55:31
not just your, an
55:34
event memorable, but it makes every
55:37
day something that they're going to look forward to.
55:39
Like, oh, what does he or she have planned
55:41
next? And it's not about the amount of money
55:43
that you spend. It's the thoughtfulness I think that
55:45
you put into it. That matters most to people.
55:47
At least that's what I hope for. I
55:50
hope it's a thoughtfulness. I
55:52
love that idea. I think now
55:54
I got, now I got all these new ideas.
55:58
I told you I'm a romantic kind of. the
56:00
guy. Oh nobody nobody ever doubted
56:02
that for a minute. And
56:04
wait till I tell you I'm trying I'm
56:06
hoping that you don't say what I think
56:08
is potentially one of the most romantic things
56:10
you could do for last. Well
56:13
I feel it's so bad. Well to be
56:16
fair I'm kind of at the end of my list I'm
56:18
kind of ending with something just sort
56:20
of silly and free but well that's what I'm
56:22
gonna do. I'll go for something silly
56:24
and free because that's exactly where I was. I
56:26
am I am a simple person.
56:29
Some people might call me a simple ten
56:31
whatever. And I do believe
56:33
that you can have some
56:35
of the most romantic memorable moments by
56:39
exchanging a glance or an
56:41
embrace keep a G rated
56:43
kids a hug wherever it is
56:45
or just a moment. And I
56:47
look I am like
56:49
I said I'm a romantic. I think that
56:51
there is something incredibly wonderfully
56:54
romantic about trains. I
56:56
don't know why. And whether
56:58
it's a ride on the Walt
57:01
Disney World Railroad just a
57:03
trip to nowhere just riding around in
57:06
circles enjoying the views the breeze in
57:08
your hair just sort of sitting there
57:10
together talking. I consider
57:13
that the TTA that the people
57:15
mover I consider that to be.
57:17
You took you took my. I
57:21
consider the Skyliner it's sort of
57:23
it their air rails right it's
57:25
I think the Skyliner is incredibly
57:27
romantic and right now and
57:30
don't make this weird right
57:32
now because of Covid you
57:34
it's actually even more so
57:37
because they it's only one
57:39
party per Skyliner vehicle which
57:42
means that you can
57:44
enter a vehicle and do the
57:46
two different loops and you have it to
57:48
yourself again just
57:53
hold hands whatever keep it but
57:56
it especially at night and at sunset
57:58
it is incredibly romantic.
58:00
And you know what too? And
58:03
I just thought of this, speaking of riding
58:05
the rails and trains, I
58:07
did this a couple times as
58:09
a kid. Amtrak has the, I
58:12
don't
58:15
know what it's called, the something
58:18
liner that goes from, I think
58:21
it's like Virginia, to not
58:24
far from Orlando. And it's
58:26
an auto train, so if you want to sort of drive
58:28
your car, they put it on the train
58:31
and then you and your
58:33
car and your family, the person
58:35
you're with, whomever, you
58:37
get sort of to experience the,
58:39
you know, Eastern Seaboard to a certain degree
58:42
by train and getting there really is half
58:44
the fun. It sort of extends that
58:46
simplicity of a train
58:49
ride. And I think you
58:51
mentioned it too, Tim, something simple
58:53
like sitting on rocking chairs, whether
58:55
it's at Wilderness Lodge, Fort Wilderness,
58:57
Animal Kingdom Lodge, has a ton
58:59
of incredibly romantic places, or even
59:02
just sitting out in Liberty Square.
59:04
There's those two rocking chairs on
59:06
the side of Hall of Presidents
59:08
that you can sit on. All of
59:11
those things, Tom Sawyer Island, the
59:13
same thing, all of those things
59:15
are simple and free and they are
59:17
moments that you can create without
59:19
having to spend a dime. I love
59:23
it. I'm gonna have to
59:25
check out that train. That might be possible.
59:27
I was
59:29
gonna kind of carry on that
59:31
you took the TTA, but I'm gonna talk
59:34
about the TTA a little more. Because just
59:36
on its simplest basic level, I was trying
59:38
to think of if you're, if
59:41
you're that Disney with that
59:44
special someone, and again
59:46
short of all the extravagant dinners
59:48
and plans you could do, just
59:51
in terms of riding attractions. I was
59:53
trying, what are the most romantic attractions?
59:55
And I think every time we we
59:59
contemplated doing this shortest show,
1:00:01
I think that was always the first question
1:00:03
like, where's the best cuddle spot on what
1:00:05
attraction. And
1:00:08
I was thinking about it and I have kind of
1:00:10
words, the ones I would think of
1:00:12
the thing they would have in common is that
1:00:15
you're sitting there, slow moving rides
1:00:17
and they're long. Obviously,
1:00:19
I don't think I don't know how romantic you
1:00:21
can get on Expedition Everest,
1:00:24
say, I don't know if holding
1:00:26
hands out of sheer fright counts,
1:00:29
because that would be me. Romantic is probably not on
1:00:32
the top of the list of things I'm feeling
1:00:34
at that moment. But on
1:00:36
the TTA, because that was one of my
1:00:39
most romantic attractions, but
1:00:42
it's one of those you can, especially,
1:00:45
I hope you hopefully you can still
1:00:47
do this. If it's not that crowded, you can,
1:00:50
you could even ride it
1:00:53
multiple times. There's never
1:00:55
a way to get on. So you don't even have to
1:00:57
worry about this is going to be romantic, but we do
1:00:59
have to wait an hour in the queue to get there.
1:01:02
But once you get out of the rocket tower Plaza,
1:01:05
and we talked about this so many times with
1:01:07
the TTA, you're off on your own. Two
1:01:10
of you in a car confession,
1:01:13
as soon as we leave the station, I
1:01:15
take my shoes off and kick them up.
1:01:17
You can play a little footsie there. Oh,
1:01:19
all right, stop it. Don't tell anybody you
1:01:22
did that. But especially
1:01:25
at night, especially at Christmas,
1:01:29
I remember many a time being
1:01:31
at a very Merry Christmas party riding
1:01:33
the TTA. So not only is it
1:01:36
magical TTA, it's magical TTA at Christmas,
1:01:38
where you can see the dream lights
1:01:40
on the castle, you can see the
1:01:42
lights and tomorrow land. And
1:01:45
even better when it's not that
1:01:47
crowded. Every once in a
1:01:50
while, you get that not so rare
1:01:52
opportunity. Not only is it just
1:01:54
the two of you in the car, it's the
1:01:56
two of you in the whole train that leaves
1:01:58
the station. And that's what I'm going to do. That's happened
1:02:00
a few times. And that's really cool because then
1:02:03
you're really truly off
1:02:05
on your own. This is like your,
1:02:07
it's like your own personal tour that's,
1:02:10
you know, you might've ordinarily paid a lot
1:02:12
for it tomorrow land. It's just YouTube, but
1:02:15
you have it all to yourself. Oddly
1:02:17
enough, I saw it, and
1:02:19
maybe this is an odd if people hear it. I
1:02:22
had a vote for the haunted mansion as
1:02:24
being a nice romantic
1:02:26
as you buy yourself. It's scary.
1:02:29
Hold my hand. I'm scared, but
1:02:31
it ticks off those things. It's just the two in your
1:02:34
car. You're not with a bunch of other people. It's
1:02:36
stark. It's long. Um, you know,
1:02:39
it's not like, like
1:02:41
something like Peter Pan flight where. Yeah,
1:02:43
you're alone, but it's sober before you know
1:02:45
it. This is nice and long. And if,
1:02:47
if, if you, uh, have an
1:02:50
affinity for Halloween and a lot of people do,
1:02:52
that makes it an even more special place and
1:02:55
even more romantic and spooky, shall we
1:02:57
say during Halloween or not so scary
1:02:59
Halloween party. Um,
1:03:02
so it's the question to you, Lou. What
1:03:05
would you nominate as your most
1:03:08
romantic attraction? Again,
1:03:12
keep it G rated. Keep it
1:03:14
G rated. Remember, remember, um, look,
1:03:16
I'm a snuggler, right? So this very
1:03:18
much is in my wheelhouse. Don't
1:03:21
say, of course you want to stop it. Um, so
1:03:24
there are a few, like I have, like I think.
1:03:27
I think pirates is one. I think Peter Pan's
1:03:29
flight is one you've got. You've
1:03:31
got that pirate ship all to yourself. Spaceship
1:03:34
earth is one. Yes. Navi
1:03:36
river journey. Again, you're
1:03:39
on the water. I was gonna say living
1:03:41
with the land. Uh, but if
1:03:43
you get a boat all by yourself, it could be,
1:03:46
but I think Peter Pan's flight, you know, those, those.
1:03:49
Attractions, a haunted mansion, very much high
1:03:51
on a list. Um, yeah. Attractions
1:03:54
where it's just the two of
1:03:56
you in a
1:03:58
vehicle. and
1:04:00
you're able to sit together and, you
1:04:03
know, put your arm around each other or whatever it is, inherently
1:04:06
make those attractions romantic. I
1:04:09
like it. My cat's wandering in. He's got some things
1:04:11
to say about this, but... Yeah,
1:04:13
I was trying to think of
1:04:15
other attractions, and I forgot. Yeah,
1:04:17
spaceship Earth definitely too. You
1:04:20
know what? I remember romantic
1:04:23
nights, one more quick story. It was the first
1:04:25
time... I mean, told
1:04:27
you this, Lou, so many times. The first
1:04:29
time I visited Epcot was in
1:04:32
the evening. It was an October evening. We were at
1:04:34
the Magic Kingdom. And
1:04:37
actually, I was so new to this, I didn't
1:04:39
realize that monorail went over to Epcot, and we
1:04:41
found out it did, so away we go. But
1:04:45
it was... You know, it
1:04:47
was in October, so it was cool. There was
1:04:49
hardly anybody there. Epcot was sort
1:04:51
of still newish at that point, so
1:04:53
everything was... super
1:04:57
clean. The original imagination, world of
1:04:59
motion, there was all still there.
1:05:02
Music emanating from the shrubbery. It
1:05:04
was fantastic. But any of the
1:05:06
attractions in there kind
1:05:08
of ticked off those
1:05:10
checkboxes. Nice and slow, just you.
1:05:13
It's, you know, 5, 10,
1:05:15
maybe 15 minutes, whether
1:05:17
it was imagination or world
1:05:19
of motion, or spaceship Earth, like you said. Or
1:05:24
even the seas at that point, you
1:05:26
know. So all
1:05:28
of Epcot. There's nobody there. El
1:05:33
Rio del Tiempo. Okay,
1:05:35
so as I was looking through, because I
1:05:37
don't have a lot on my list left
1:05:40
either, I do have
1:05:42
obviously some restaurants. I'm going
1:05:44
to save those for... I think there's
1:05:46
a top 10 romantic
1:05:48
restaurants in Walt Disney World. Oh, yeah.
1:05:51
That we can do, because
1:05:53
I think there are many, including some that
1:05:55
I think are unexpected. And number one, if
1:05:57
this is going to sound like a... like
1:06:00
one of those click bait articles, number
1:06:02
one on my list will surprise you
1:06:04
because it will. It
1:06:06
might. And then again, it might not. But there's a
1:06:09
few that I think are incredibly romantic,
1:06:11
just like there are romantic resorts
1:06:14
or romantic rooms even that you could
1:06:16
ask for at
1:06:18
certain resorts. So I will save
1:06:20
those for another top
1:06:23
10, which we can do maybe very
1:06:25
soon. I want to just
1:06:27
I'm going to quickly mention a couple of
1:06:29
honorable mentions before I hit what I think
1:06:32
might be one of the
1:06:34
possibly the best of the best of
1:06:37
romantic things that you can do in
1:06:39
Walt Disney World. So earlier, Tim, you talked
1:06:42
about taking a walk, right? Taking a walk,
1:06:44
taking a hike. I think there's a lot
1:06:46
of different places that you can do that,
1:06:48
whether it's the boardwalk, the resort trails, Fort
1:06:51
Wilderness, like you said, even some
1:06:53
of the quote unquote running trails between
1:06:55
like Old Key West and Saratoga
1:06:58
and Disney Springs are really
1:07:00
nice. I think you can take romantic walks in
1:07:02
the parks. I think the Gardens
1:07:04
in World Showcase is one. The Maharaja
1:07:06
Jungle Trek, especially you get some of
1:07:09
those that nice weather and
1:07:11
the right time of day. So
1:07:13
many of the resorts have wonderful grounds
1:07:15
that are meant to be wandered and
1:07:18
explored, especially some of the larger resorts
1:07:20
that are a little bit more spread
1:07:22
out. I am
1:07:24
not an athlete. I am an athletic
1:07:26
supporter. So I do
1:07:28
like miniature golf. It's
1:07:31
almost like that teenage
1:07:33
romance thing to do, but it can
1:07:35
be so much fun and so romantic.
1:07:37
So an evening or a
1:07:40
morning at Winter Summerland or Fantasia Gardens
1:07:43
could be something that is fun and
1:07:46
romantic as well. It does not
1:07:48
have to be the
1:07:51
flowers and the champagne and the
1:07:53
strawberries. Look, I think there's a
1:07:55
lot of places that
1:07:58
can be romantic if you're in the park. If
1:08:00
you approach them that way, whether it's the
1:08:02
Liberty Square River boat or to the
1:08:05
opposite of your point, I think you can stroll
1:08:08
down Main Street, USA and
1:08:10
have it be something simple
1:08:12
and romantic to do
1:08:14
together. I think sort of romance is where
1:08:16
you could make it. If you
1:08:18
go to Animal Kingdom Lodge, the Starlight
1:08:21
Safari is one of, I
1:08:23
think, the most special and unique things that
1:08:25
you can do as you
1:08:27
go at night and you're
1:08:29
given night vision goggles and see, I
1:08:31
think it's like 30 different species of
1:08:34
African wildlife. I know they
1:08:37
did nighttime safaris in Animal Kingdom
1:08:39
too. I think those are currently
1:08:42
on hold as
1:08:45
well. What
1:08:48
I think is the number one thing
1:08:51
on my list to do is
1:08:54
easy, it's
1:08:56
romantic, it's
1:08:58
unique, especially right
1:09:00
now, it can
1:09:03
be private-ish, you don't
1:09:06
even need a park ticket for it. And
1:09:09
you don't need to be staying at a specific resort. It's
1:09:14
characters in flight at Disney
1:09:16
Springs. Oh. Did
1:09:19
you know it's the world's largest tethered
1:09:21
helium balloon? I
1:09:24
did not know that. See that? Full
1:09:26
of useless knowledge. The
1:09:29
gondola is this 20-foot
1:09:31
diameter basket,
1:09:34
enclosed basket. And look, if you're afraid
1:09:36
of heights, I am not the biggest
1:09:39
fan of heights as well. You
1:09:41
feel so safe and so secure
1:09:44
because you can't go anywhere
1:09:46
and the balloon can't go anywhere so
1:09:48
I never had any of that fear,
1:09:50
although I do acknowledge that for many
1:09:52
people it does exist. While
1:09:55
the gondola can hold up to I think 25
1:09:58
or 30 people, especially I've no noticed
1:10:01
over the last number of years, it's
1:10:03
not, especially during off times, it's
1:10:06
not often crowded. It's
1:10:08
not often being used because there's not
1:10:10
a line of people. So depending
1:10:13
on what, look, if you go on
1:10:15
a Tuesday at 11 o'clock, chances are
1:10:17
you're going to have that balloon all
1:10:19
to yourself. If you're going to go
1:10:22
at the end of a night, maybe
1:10:24
after a romantic dinner in Disney Springs,
1:10:26
boathouse, and then you have a
1:10:28
surprise, you think that you're walking to the
1:10:30
buses or back to your car, and then
1:10:32
you hook a right and you walk over
1:10:34
to characters in flight and you have this
1:10:37
reservation for the balloon for just the two
1:10:39
of you. The
1:10:41
views are spectacular. It's not even
1:10:43
that. It's just, it's
1:10:46
that simplicity of the
1:10:48
balloon ride. And it's only $20 for adults. Kids
1:10:51
I think, I think kids are like 15. But
1:10:56
it is such a
1:10:59
unique view and you can see
1:11:01
for like 20 miles all around.
1:11:03
You can walk all around the basket.
1:11:05
You don't feel cramped at
1:11:07
all. You look at pictures or videos. I did
1:11:10
this a couple of times. I haven't
1:11:12
been in years. I
1:11:14
want to do again. But
1:11:16
timing it just right, it
1:11:19
is just such a
1:11:21
simple, romantic thing. And if
1:11:23
it's just the two of you, and
1:11:25
obviously there's the pilot in there as
1:11:27
well, it is a
1:11:29
wonderful, wonderful, very overlooked
1:11:31
experience of Walt Disney World that
1:11:33
ticks all the boxes. Like I said,
1:11:36
you don't have to book
1:11:38
this six months in advance. It can
1:11:40
be private. It is unique. It is
1:11:42
romantic. It's something you can do together.
1:11:44
And it does not cost you a lot. It's
1:11:47
$40 for two people. I
1:11:50
love it. I am a little afraid of heights,
1:11:52
but you've convinced me. I think I can handle
1:11:55
it. It's even perfect. Like,
1:11:57
oh, you're a little afraid of heights. Come here. I'm
1:12:02
not saying that's why it makes
1:12:04
sure it's obviously completely consensual, but
1:12:06
you know what I mean. I'm
1:12:08
assuming that if you're there together,
1:12:11
that that is not an
1:12:13
issue. Yeah,
1:12:15
the one last thing I'll just add
1:12:18
is I think the commonality to all of
1:12:20
this was wherever
1:12:24
it is, whether it's a restaurant,
1:12:27
resort, attraction, or whatever. Like
1:12:31
for me, the romantic part was
1:12:33
just being able to share that magic moment,
1:12:35
whatever it was, with that
1:12:38
someone special, especially when to both of
1:12:40
you. It's that Disney special
1:12:43
moment that means that much
1:12:45
more to you because we're
1:12:48
Disney people, but this means a lot to us. And
1:12:51
it is really special
1:12:54
to share those moments with someone. It's
1:12:57
also cool, and the last thing
1:12:59
I will put on this list is if
1:13:01
you get to both experience something new for
1:13:04
the first time that you're both looking
1:13:06
forward to. Not even just an attraction or something,
1:13:08
but for example, I remember the
1:13:10
first time going into Pandora at
1:13:13
night with
1:13:16
somebody. Not
1:13:18
only was I experiencing this for the
1:13:20
first time, but it was so beautiful
1:13:22
and magical that we've talked about separately.
1:13:25
But being able to share that experience with
1:13:28
someone too who is just as in
1:13:30
awe and mesmerized as you are, and you're both
1:13:33
taking in this incredibly magical
1:13:35
experience together is really
1:13:37
cool too. So again, that's –
1:13:39
I mean, you have to kind of plan ahead
1:13:42
to be there when something opens, but being able
1:13:44
to experience something together for the first time is
1:13:47
also pretty cool because it's not just sharing the
1:13:49
moment, but you're discovering the moment together. And
1:13:52
it'll be that moment that you'll remember
1:13:54
for the rest of your lives because you
1:13:56
did it together, and you'll never see this
1:13:59
thing for the first time. first time again, like I'll
1:14:01
never, I will
1:14:03
never have another first time I was
1:14:05
at Pandora moment. So being
1:14:08
able to share that with someone makes it extra
1:14:10
special. Yeah,
1:14:12
look, and as an extension of all
1:14:14
the things that we're saying, you know, especially if you've
1:14:17
been with somebody a long time, or you've been
1:14:19
married a long time, or you're worried about, you
1:14:21
know, budget and things like that, you know, that's
1:14:24
why I wanted to really have a wide spectrum
1:14:26
of things that you could do for
1:14:28
free and things that if you wanted to celebrate
1:14:30
and indulge and look to your point Tim about
1:14:33
this place, this experience together,
1:14:36
being special, even if you are married,
1:14:38
and you've been married for years, and the
1:14:41
romance is gone, there's nothing
1:14:43
that stops you from proposing
1:14:45
again. Maybe you didn't have the wedding,
1:14:47
it's what made it to where you didn't honeymoon in
1:14:50
Disney, where you found this Disney love after,
1:14:52
there's nothing that says that you can't
1:14:54
go and find or
1:14:56
make your special place whether it's in
1:14:58
front of now the non pink
1:15:01
castle cake thing, if it's,
1:15:03
you know, in front of
1:15:05
a favorite attraction, there's nothing and you don't need
1:15:08
another ring, you don't need another celebration, you don't
1:15:10
need any of that kind of stuff. It's just
1:15:13
like what we're talking about. It's it's
1:15:15
proposing your love, it's sort of reinforcing
1:15:17
that and forgive me for being all,
1:15:20
you know, like I said,
1:15:22
at the outset, as
1:15:24
as idealistic and romantic about
1:15:26
it. But I think that there
1:15:28
is something about making that
1:15:30
moment of getting down on one knee
1:15:32
looking up into the eyes of somebody
1:15:34
that you love and then sort of
1:15:36
professing that love, especially if it's in
1:15:38
a place like Walt
1:15:40
Disney World or Al Lonnie
1:15:43
or Disney Cruise or Disneyland,
1:15:45
wherever it might be, because
1:15:47
now you have that moment,
1:15:49
that place, that thing. And to
1:15:51
all the things that we talked about, it doesn't
1:15:53
matter what you do to celebrate,
1:15:56
you know, Valentine's Day, whether it's in
1:15:59
Walt Disney World. Walt Disney World or
1:16:01
anywhere, it's about the time together, but when
1:16:03
you are Walt Disney World, it's about sort
1:16:05
of making those memories in what I
1:16:08
would argue maybe is
1:16:10
not just the most magical place on earth.
1:16:12
It's not just a vacation. It's
1:16:14
one of the most romantic places on
1:16:17
earth as well. But I
1:16:19
want to know from you, my friend,
1:16:21
our friend, who's listening here
1:16:24
with us, hopefully jotting down
1:16:26
ideas or making quick phone calls for
1:16:28
last-minute plans if you're in Walt Disney
1:16:30
World, tell me what you
1:16:33
think the most romantic thing
1:16:35
you can do, you should do, or
1:16:37
you have done in Walt
1:16:39
Disney World is share your story. You've
1:16:41
already done it, so it's okay. Or
1:16:43
maybe something that you
1:16:45
would love to do when you find
1:16:47
that special someone. What is your perfect
1:16:49
romantic day and night look like in
1:16:52
Walt Disney World? What is the thing
1:16:54
that you hope someone would one day
1:16:56
do for you? There's a
1:16:58
number of different ways you could let us know. I
1:17:00
think the best way is for us to tell us
1:17:02
in your own voice, call the voicemail. I will play
1:17:05
it on the air at 407-900-9391. That's
1:17:09
407-900-WDW1. You
1:17:13
can also go, I'll post this on
1:17:15
our group on Facebook. It is the
1:17:17
WDW Radio Clubhouse. It is fun
1:17:19
and family-friendly, of course free
1:17:21
and a very warm, welcoming
1:17:23
place. Share your story,
1:17:25
share your idea there, or you can
1:17:28
email me. Just lu at www.radio.com or
1:17:30
share it on social and let me
1:17:32
know. You know what
1:17:35
else I think is incredibly ... Listen,
1:17:37
if you don't know what to get
1:17:39
her or him for
1:17:41
Valentine's Day and you're looking
1:17:43
for the ultimate romantic gift,
1:17:45
look no further than not
1:17:47
your service merchandise catalog, but
1:17:49
go to celebrationspress.com because
1:17:51
it's literally the gift
1:17:53
that keeps on giving
1:17:55
all year long.
1:17:59
That it is, Lu. That it
1:18:01
is. I feel like I'm quoting Christmas vacation right
1:18:03
now. But
1:18:06
the big news, Lou, the
1:18:08
big news is
1:18:11
we're happy. So proud to
1:18:13
know Celebrations magazine is back
1:18:15
in print. And
1:18:18
we are so excited. Enter
1:18:20
dramatic music. So we're so excited. We've
1:18:22
been working really, really hard. Say
1:18:25
yes. We're, I don't know. We're going to kick things
1:18:27
off. What better way to kick things off than
1:18:29
with a special commemorative Walt
1:18:31
Disney World 50th anniversary gala
1:18:34
issue, which we're putting together
1:18:36
now. So we're very
1:18:38
excited about that. It's out. It's available.
1:18:40
We love everybody to come
1:18:42
check it out. See what you think. So
1:18:44
we're super, super excited. Also,
1:18:48
I will. Oh, there's more. Well,
1:18:51
and maybe we'll have a special something
1:18:53
for your audience, Lou. Which
1:18:57
I guess I should mention. Like,
1:19:00
this is me as a friend
1:19:03
to you. It's
1:19:06
like telling somebody like, listen, maybe
1:19:09
I'll have something romantic for you, but then again,
1:19:11
maybe I won't. So we're
1:19:13
going, we're going to put together
1:19:15
to celebrate the return of celebrations
1:19:17
in print. We do have a special
1:19:20
coupon, which Lou will include in the
1:19:22
show. I will put it in the
1:19:24
show notes. Um,
1:19:27
that we're going to offer all you
1:19:29
guys 20% off of the new subscription.
1:19:32
And we also, we're going
1:19:34
to run a little contest or
1:19:36
select few winners that we'll choose
1:19:38
will win in addition to a
1:19:40
free year of celebrations magazine. We'll
1:19:43
put together a special gift
1:19:45
package of our nighttime
1:19:47
memories, hardcover book. We just did
1:19:50
some of our recent back print issues
1:19:52
and some other goodies that
1:19:54
we'll throw in there. Some
1:19:56
booklets of perhaps illuminations or
1:19:59
the mainstream. electrical parade, how I
1:20:01
miss you and that sort of thing.
1:20:03
But Lou will
1:20:05
put all of the details on all
1:20:07
of this in a show, share with
1:20:09
everybody. But we want to
1:20:11
offer this to everybody because we just
1:20:14
want to share it with everybody because we're so excited and
1:20:16
hope you are too. Awesome.
1:20:19
I certainly will go to www.radio.com, click
1:20:21
on this week's podcast. You'll find links
1:20:23
and all of the details once Tim
1:20:25
gives them to me there. Once we
1:20:30
have to figure out what the coupon code is
1:20:32
actually. Lou is my, Tim
1:20:34
is a cuddler 20. We'll
1:20:37
figure it out. Check the show notes. That's
1:20:39
a little long. We'll shorten it up to
1:20:41
something much, much nicer. Well, look,
1:20:43
Tim Foster, I am
1:20:46
so grateful for you being here.
1:20:48
We're going to have to come
1:20:50
back and talk about romantic resorts
1:20:52
and rooms and restaurants and places
1:20:54
to dine. But the takeaway, Tim,
1:20:56
is that romance is
1:20:58
still not dead, nor should
1:21:00
it ever be. No way,
1:21:02
my friend. No way. What's
1:21:05
the most romantic, oh, top
1:21:08
10 romantic Disney songs. Oh,
1:21:13
I'm going to have to think about that. I
1:21:15
know. I'm going to write this down. Romantic Disney.
1:21:18
I was even going to mention top 10 romantic
1:21:20
films. Cause I don't know
1:21:22
if I said this on the show, I mentioned
1:21:24
you. I watched end game again last night and
1:21:26
cry romantic six more times. And what
1:21:29
better way to, um, have
1:21:31
a romantic moment than cuddle up watching your
1:21:33
favorite movie, especially one where
1:21:36
you'll cry a little bit. I'm
1:21:38
a crier. Hey, just say I cry it. I'm a
1:21:41
hugger. I'm a crier. I'm
1:21:43
a sentimental kind of guy. So can
1:21:46
I tell you, I wear it. Uh, I wear
1:21:48
my heart on my sleeve proudly. Uh,
1:21:50
you're hopeless, but that's why we love you. oto.com
