2:33

and enjoy this week's episode of the

2:36

WW Radio Show. In

2:48

our continuing visits to

2:50

every resort eventually in Walt Disney

2:52

World and I think

3:03

eventually all the resorts around the

3:05

world, yes I just committed myself

3:07

to that. This week we're going

3:09

to dive into the heart of

3:11

the bayou to explore what I

3:13

think is a relatively hidden gem

3:15

of the Walt Disney World Resort,

3:17

Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter. And

3:20

if you, like me, have ever,

3:22

you know, strolled down the

3:24

cobblestone streets, you know that there's something

3:28

wonderful and comfortable and I think special about

3:30

this place. And if you haven't, or if

3:32

you have or maybe looking for reasons to

3:34

go back, this episode is

3:37

just for you because we're going

3:39

to share ten-ish reasons that

3:41

you need to stay at Disney's Port Orleans

3:43

French Quarter Resort and it might just have

3:45

you booking your next trip with Mouse Van

3:47

Travel by the time we are done. Because

3:50

I think from the unique

3:53

architecture that transports you right into the

3:55

heart of New Orleans to the wonderful

3:58

southern hospitality, of course the Benin, There's

4:00

a lot to cover and I think there's a lot

4:02

that you're not going to want to miss, especially if

4:04

you are planning your next vacation. So I

4:07

think everybody who loves

4:09

this resort has their own special reason for loving

4:11

it and wanting to go on it. And if

4:13

that's you, and as we go through our list,

4:15

I want to hear from you. Like what is

4:18

your favorite reason for staying at Port

4:20

Orleans French Quarter? You can share your

4:22

thoughts over in the clubhouse at www.ordio.com/clubhouse.

4:25

I'll put this question there. Or

4:27

by calling the voicemail at 407-909-391. That's

4:30

407-900-WDW1. Maybe

4:34

we missed something and maybe you

4:36

and your favorite reason might

4:39

just be the thing for somebody else to

4:41

help plan their next vacation. And

4:43

when I say that we are going to

4:45

cover the resort in this sort of resort

4:47

report, I want to welcome back the

4:51

yisme to my kronk, the anger to

4:53

my joy, the edna mode

4:55

to my Bob Parr, the

4:57

queen of hearts to my Mad Hatter,

5:00

and I think the Vanellope to my

5:02

Ralph. She is of course Becky Menken

5:04

from Mouse Band Travel. Ooh, I

5:06

actually like the last one, the Vanellope to Ralph. I

5:08

just came up, I like that one. That

5:11

one kind of fits in a strange way. Unlike

5:14

your other anger to joy, if

5:16

you actually look at anger, he

5:18

looks a lot like you without

5:21

the tie. If you put a tie on and then

5:23

you look straight into the camera,

5:25

you could be... Or I'm the happiest person

5:28

in the world. Dude,

5:31

seriously, the whole queen of hearts thing, you still

5:33

haven't looked at your hair compared to her hair.

5:36

It is a one on one match. We put

5:38

you in the dress and it's good to go.

5:40

So now we're going to back up to the

5:42

Vanellope. I think he's a joke and you clearly

5:44

get very excited and emotional

5:46

about this. I'll take the

5:48

Vanellope to Ralph. I think that that was

5:50

a perfect thing. And I've already got you

5:52

all figured out about why you chose...

5:55

Yes! Thank you! I think you did more.

5:57

You did more. I think you did more.

6:00

more research on your rebuttal than you

6:02

actually did on preparation for the show.

6:04

You're probably correct. But I haven't said that. And that's

6:07

not helpful at all. I

6:09

know why you chose this one specifically.

6:11

It's because you just want to

6:13

go back to New Orleans. I do. I

6:16

love New Orleans. New Orleans is one of my favorite.

6:18

Is it New Orleans or New Orleans? It's

6:21

Nolans. It's like... It depends on

6:23

who you ask. Nolans, Nolans, Nola. Yeah, I've been

6:26

there a number... I was there when I was

6:28

a kid, driving across

6:30

the country with my parents. We were there during... when the

6:32

World's Fair was there. And I've

6:34

had occasion to go back a couple

6:36

of times. We did a group cruise out of

6:38

New Orleans. We were there for a race weekend.

6:40

I was there for an

6:43

event with Imagineering a year or so

6:45

ago. And we do

6:47

need to plan a return visit because I think

6:50

all the things I sort of talked about in the intro, the

6:52

reasons why I love French Quarter or some of the reasons why

6:54

I love New Orleans. It's

6:57

the music and the food and the hospitality

6:59

and the history and the architecture. Yes,

7:02

the food is ridiculously good

7:04

there. And everything that I

7:06

love about New Orleans does not take place on

7:08

Bourbon Street. It actually is everywhere sort of

7:10

but Bourbon Street because I think New Orleans has so

7:13

very much to offer. Especially

7:16

if you live in America and it's easy to

7:18

get to, I highly, highly

7:20

recommend adults, kids. There's

7:23

a lot to do and I think a

7:25

lot to love about New Orleans. And

7:27

I think for purposes

7:29

of this show, I think there's a lot to love about

7:31

this resort. It's why I wanted to do it. And I

7:34

think there's a

7:36

lot of reasons we're going to touch on

7:38

that and make this a unique choice among

7:40

the 20 plus onsite

7:43

and even some of the good

7:45

neighbor hotels in terms of

7:47

the various Waltz and World resorts. Oh

7:50

yeah, the first time I went to New

7:52

Orleans was Norlin's, Darlene's. Every time

7:54

I say that, I'm going to question what

7:57

the right saying is. first

8:00

time I was there was for the WDW radio

8:03

cruise. So I think when we spent a

8:05

couple of days there pre which definitely was

8:07

not enough and the one thing that

8:09

I loved now I know my dark

8:11

and twisty side when we went and

8:13

saw the graveyard which I loved which

8:16

we don't see in the resorts good

8:18

probably a good good feature not to

8:20

have in a vacation area.

8:22

However it was just so

8:24

cool and I loved

8:27

seeing how different families

8:29

express themselves and remember

8:31

their loved ones and you know the music

8:34

and like you said the food and the atmosphere

8:36

and the decor I mean everything about

8:38

that city except for the humidity is

8:40

awesome. I really do want

8:44

to go back and spend some quality time there. And

8:47

in the past I have expressed my love

8:49

for both the resort as well as New

8:51

Orleans including there's a lot

8:53

of Disney connections to all so if you go back

8:55

to show 97 we did a very deep dive

8:58

a DSI Disney scene investigation

9:00

of both Riverside as well

9:02

as French Quarter resorts going

9:04

into their history and their connections

9:06

but on show 439 we did a fascinating

9:10

show I think about Disney's

9:12

both Walt Disney, the Disney Parks,

9:14

Disney movies all the different connections

9:17

between and through Disney and New Orleans and I'll

9:19

link those both in the show notes but again

9:21

it's show 97 and show

9:23

439 but Becky for

9:25

purposes of this week rather

9:27

than sort of going you know through

9:30

the entire resorts with a fine-tooth comb I

9:32

want to look at sort of ten reasons

9:35

that people should think about

9:37

going or going back to

9:39

Disney's French Quarter resort. You

9:41

are my guest I believe in Ladies First

9:43

and I'm wildly curious to hear what your

9:46

first would be so please the floor is

9:48

yours. See mine is no

9:50

particular order. I have a

9:52

ton of notes. Yeah I don't think

9:54

there has to be. I want to be all over the place. Yeah

9:56

absolutely and some of them will lead into

9:59

others so I The 10-ish

10:01

thing is probably going to be more ish than

10:03

10. However,

10:05

I'm going to go with one

10:07

of the things that I do

10:09

really appreciate about the resort, which is

10:12

its size. It's

10:14

not overbearing. It's easy

10:17

to walk around. It's a small resort.

10:21

It's made up of city

10:23

streets or seems like a really

10:25

small charming town. You

10:28

can easily get from even if you're out in one

10:30

of the far out buildings, it really isn't that far

10:33

to be able to walk to the main lobby

10:35

location where the great food

10:37

court is and everything that's there. I

10:40

absolutely love the cozy, charming, easy

10:42

to walk around size. So

10:46

I have this on my list as well. And

10:48

you and I are not alone because as a

10:50

wise man once said, size matters not. Just

10:53

me by my size, do you? This

10:56

is actually the smallest Walt Disney World

10:58

resort in terms of rooms. I

11:00

don't even say only. There's wonderfully 1008

11:02

rooms. So

11:06

in terms of on property room

11:09

size, it is very small. It

11:11

is intimate. And this was very high on my

11:13

list as to one of the reasons why I

11:15

love it because I think it's part

11:17

of its charm. And

11:20

I think its

11:22

status as the smallest resort is

11:25

an advantage for guests who are

11:27

thinking about stinger. Again, you talked

11:29

about the intimacy, the quaintness, especially

11:32

like at the end of the night when

11:34

most resorts start to get, they feel crowded

11:36

because everybody's coming back from the parks. In

11:38

the morning, everybody's getting ready to leave. There's

11:40

a sense of a cozy, quiet

11:44

atmosphere and ambiance that

11:46

makes this, I

11:48

think sort of almost a little bit of a

11:50

peaceful retreat. I also

11:52

think because of its size, it's very

11:54

convenient and accessible because no matter where

11:56

your room is located within the resort,

11:59

you're always a short walk away. from

12:01

the amenities, the pool, the dining, the

12:03

transportation, which I think is an enhancement

12:05

to the overall guest experience. As you

12:07

know, if you stay at some other

12:09

resorts, sometimes if you want to get

12:11

to the main house or the buses,

12:13

you might be in for a relatively

12:15

or not relatively, a very

12:18

long walk. And

12:21

I think because it's

12:23

smaller, right, and I like, I

12:25

love resorts like this. I will always take a

12:27

smaller, almost more of a boutique

12:30

resort over a mega resort any day because

12:32

I think the smaller

12:34

scale allows for not just

12:39

them to be able to do it, but almost

12:41

an appreciation of the theming and the decor that's

12:43

inspired by New Orleans. I

12:45

think it also affords a

12:47

more personalized guest experience because

12:49

there is, there are less guests there.

12:51

I think the sort of cast member

12:53

to guest ratio is increased.

12:55

I think there's also less time waiting

12:58

and more time enjoying your vacation. So

13:00

the size is very, very, very high

13:02

on my list as well. And

13:06

everything you said is so accurate. And I

13:08

love the fact that, I mean, you say the word

13:10

a thousand and eight rooms.

13:13

It doesn't seem small, right, on

13:16

the grand scope of things.

13:18

But if you look at some of the other

13:20

resorts, which really are mega resorts and they're spread

13:22

out and like pointing out the fact that getting

13:25

to one of the buses might

13:27

be your morning 5,000

13:29

steps to just

13:32

catch transportation. I

13:34

really do like the variety

13:37

of locations, the quiet locations for

13:40

it being small. There's definitely buildings that

13:42

are farther out that allow you to have a little

13:44

bit more of a relaxed and quiet experience

13:48

rather than being closer into

13:50

the main area where you've

13:52

got the food court and

13:54

everything. But I

13:56

absolutely love the cozy,

13:58

quiet, atmosphere of that

14:01

small cozy area. Yeah, because

14:04

I mean you think about places like Disney's

14:06

Animal Kingdom Lodge, depending on where you are,

14:08

either in Jumbo House or Kadani, like they

14:10

should give you a medal by the time

14:13

you get from your room to the main

14:15

lodge. Because it is, and at the end

14:17

of the night when you've got diaper bags

14:19

and strollers and souvenirs and you're, well,

14:23

it feels like you are

14:25

walking or running a marathon.

14:27

So for size

14:29

alone, very highly recommend. But

14:32

the number one, I'm going right to my favorite reason,

14:35

in addition to that, that I love it and we're

14:37

going to talk about some of the other things as

14:39

well. I have three words for you and they are

14:41

Scat Cats Club. I

14:45

absolutely love it. And

14:47

we did a sort

14:50

of different than we normally do, like a

14:52

late night-ish meet of the month a few

14:54

months ago at Scat Cats. So

14:57

a couple of things, if the name Scat

14:59

Cat rings a bell, it should. He was

15:01

a character from the Aristocats and he was

15:04

this smooth talking

15:06

jazz playing alley cat who

15:09

befriends duchess, voiced by,

15:11

yes, Scat

15:14

Man Cluthers, who I love, not just

15:16

in the Shining, but I just dig

15:18

Scat Man Cluthers as

15:20

well. And

15:23

so let's sort of go back a little bit. Scat

15:25

Cats has been

15:27

part of the resort since the

15:29

beginning. In 2019, it actually reopened almost

15:31

sort of like as a two

15:34

location venue and the

15:36

bar and the lounge moved to

15:38

the space that was occupied originally

15:40

by Bonfermiel's restaurant and

15:42

then they introduced a new cafe

15:44

area that was adjacent to the

15:47

main lobby that serves coffee and

15:49

these little puffy fried

15:52

pieces of heaven known

15:54

as beignets. So let's

15:57

talk about the lounge first. It

15:59

is this cool, vibrant,

16:02

yet very chill spot that really

16:04

sort of captures the essence of

16:06

some of those New Orleans jazz

16:08

clubs. It's very cozy, it's very

16:10

relaxing, it's very inviting. So if

16:12

you want to just go in,

16:15

have, in your case, Becky, an adult

16:17

beverage, a non-adult beverage, a beignet, a

16:20

coffee, a place to sort of just

16:22

chill, you can. There's bar

16:25

service there, they have obviously cocktails, beers, and

16:27

lots of other beverages, great food items as

16:29

well. I'll get to that in a second.

16:31

And then the cafe, like you

16:33

said, also serves the beignets,

16:35

which are pretty darn close. It's

16:38

not quite Cafe du Monde, it's not, but

16:40

it's pretty close. And depending on

16:43

when you go seasonally, they have limited

16:45

time offerings and seasonal specialties. If you've

16:47

ever had the pumpkin spice beignets, you

16:49

know how your life has changed for

16:51

the better. Wait, what? What? Oh,

16:54

I'm not kidding. I've never had those. Well, that's

16:56

what you need. That's why you need to come

16:58

and take a modern resort every now and then

17:00

because that's the stuff that you get. Part

17:05

of it too is the live music

17:08

and entertainment. And post COVID, it really

17:10

only happens on weekends. Hopefully they start

17:12

to expand that. We were there when

17:14

they had, I think,

17:19

it might have still been the big easy swag.

17:22

Yeah, I think, but they sort of the jazz

17:24

quartets or jazz trios come in

17:26

and out. But it's

17:28

super chill. It's not loud. Like you

17:31

can sit there and just listen to

17:33

the music. You can have conversations. It's

17:35

family friendly. It's a really,

17:37

really, really nice place. Whether you're staying at

17:39

the resort or not, I highly, highly recommend

17:41

whether you dig jazz or not to

17:43

go in and just check out to Cat Cats. You

17:46

know, in the one item

17:48

that you started with, you covered like three

17:50

things that were on my list. Just so

17:52

that you know. I only talked about one place. Well,

17:54

kind of, but you didn't because, you

17:57

know what? You were talking about Scat

17:59

Man. brothers? No.

18:01

The vignettes alone were one big bullet

18:03

item on my list because obviously that's

18:05

one of the best snack foods but

18:07

I didn't know there was a pumpkin

18:09

spice one. Let's go back to that.

18:11

Yeah, so there's pumpkin spice ones. Becky,

18:14

you know she'll like this and

18:16

I think they have it all the time

18:18

but they have vignettes that have almost like

18:20

a little plastic syringe that you can sort

18:23

of inject an adult

18:25

sort of complimentary beverage of your choice

18:27

into the beignet itself. I need that

18:29

in my life. Why

18:32

have you not taken me there for that? What

18:36

is going on with you? Now we

18:40

know where we're having our next business meeting when we

18:42

get back. However, when

18:45

you're talking about the Skat Cat Club

18:48

which say that 10 times fast it

18:50

gets kind of confusing but it's an

18:52

overarching piece of the live entertainment as

18:54

a whole. Like you said you were talking about just

18:56

sitting there and listening to the jazz music which I

19:00

really have a huge appreciation for just

19:02

kind of having

19:05

that type of atmosphere where you can still have

19:07

a conversation but you're enjoying the live entertainment around

19:09

you as well. So

19:12

if I can like tie that into the overall

19:15

– Before I go, I just realized the one

19:17

thing I forgot to mention and forgive me was

19:19

the lounge

19:23

actually has an amazing almost

19:26

secret bar menu because

19:28

you don't think about going there for

19:30

the food but you should. Let

19:33

me just quickly go through because I've had most

19:35

of these when we were there, all in the

19:37

name of research. They have loaded potato puffs like

19:39

a little like potato barrels like little tater

19:42

tots with pulled pork and beer

19:44

cheese sauce. They have

19:46

Mardi Gras fritters with pimento cheese fritters

19:48

and pepper jelly, bayou

19:50

wings with a sweet and spicy

19:52

barbecue sauce, Baton Rouge

19:54

beignets. These are the ones that contain alcohol.

19:57

Oh, this is – you're going to love this. Forget the show's

20:00

and right here for Becky. You get

20:02

two beignets that get jazzed up

20:04

with your choice of Bailey's Irish

20:06

Cream, Kahlua, or Rumchata. Oh

20:08

my gosh, that's like heaven

20:10

in a beignet. You

20:13

get those, I'll get the scat cats

20:15

that are two beignets served with red

20:17

pepper jelly, pimento cheese, green goddess dressing,

20:20

and dusted with powdered sugar. There's also

20:22

an oyster beignet po' boy and

20:25

sassy, sassagoula sliders, which

20:27

have fried green tomatoes with

20:30

pepper jelly, barbecue jack fruit, and slaw

20:32

pickles, a fish cake with spicy remoulade

20:34

and arugula. And

20:37

I've had most of those or sampled some when

20:39

we were at the meet. So it's actually

20:41

a super cool place even just

20:43

to go listen to some music and get

20:45

some food in a, I mean,

20:48

it almost should be considered like a

20:50

casual dining location. Yeah, it

20:53

seems like that where the sliders is

20:55

perfect for a small meal and then you turn

20:57

around and you get your dessert, which is obviously

21:00

two or three beignets because you have to

21:02

try every single one of the injectables, right?

21:05

I'm just gonna call them injectables. You

21:08

can have your Kahlua or your Bailey's

21:10

or your Rumchata or all three. I

21:12

mean, you can make a cocktail

21:15

inside a beignet. Done.

21:17

A woman chasing in the corner, that

21:20

would be Becky Mankin. We've never seen her before. It

21:24

actually sounds really good. We will go there

21:26

next time you're there. All right, moving on. Is it

21:28

me now? It is. Okay, so I gotta get

21:30

rid of my beignets off the

21:32

list and the live entertainment

21:35

is off the list. I

21:37

think the

21:40

next one I'm going to go to then is kind of, one

21:46

of my favorite things about some of

21:48

the resorts is the transportation options because

21:50

you have the

21:52

riverboat, which is very unique and

21:55

cool for a modern resort being able to

21:57

take one of the boat transfers to Disney

21:59

Springs. which I like to be

22:01

able to do. I think I

22:03

talked about the buses earlier, where you

22:05

have the, just

22:07

two, I think there's only two bus stops rather than having

22:09

eight, 12 or 10 out there too. So

22:13

I really like that when

22:17

you have an association with how close you are

22:19

to Riverside. So pulling all

22:21

that together, where you have that location that's

22:23

closer to, or close to Riverside, so it's

22:25

an easy walk over there so you can

22:28

actually take advantage of all the transportation options.

22:31

Yeah, I was gonna say, when you talk

22:33

about transportation, your feet should be considered transportation

22:35

because you can very easily walk over to

22:37

Riverside. When you stay in front of

22:39

a quarter or Riverside, it really is like getting two

22:42

resorts in one, because you have access

22:44

to the amenities and the entertainment at both. I

22:46

won't even start going down the e-hop, Bob, rabbit

22:49

hole, because he alone is a reason

22:51

to go and visit. And

22:53

I'll piggyback on that because one of the

22:56

things I had on my list,

22:58

Becky, was the Sassagoula River Cruise

23:00

over to Disney Springs, because you

23:02

do have access to the Sassagoula,

23:04

which, Sassagoula means, right,

23:07

Mississippi. It's a Native American word

23:09

for Mississippi. She's

23:12

not even paying attention. But

23:14

you do have a ferry service,

23:16

not just in between a French

23:18

Quarter and Riverside, but you do

23:20

get, you have

23:22

transportation over to Old Key West,

23:24

as well as Saratoga Springs and

23:27

Disney Springs. It's complimentary. It's

23:29

relaxing. It's beautiful. It's so big, especially

23:31

if you can go sort of during

23:33

golden hour at sunset.

23:35

It's gorgeous. And you have very, very easy

23:38

access to and from Disney Springs. You don't

23:40

have to worry about getting on a bus.

23:42

I will take water transportation over a bus

23:44

any day of the week.

23:47

Plus, it's just, there's

23:50

something very relaxing about being

23:52

on the water and

23:56

seeing the resort, I think, from the water

23:58

as well, because I think that the

24:00

boats sort of reflect to a certain

24:02

degree that the sort of very

24:05

iconic steam powered paddle boats

24:07

that you'd find in Louisiana.

24:12

And that boat trip, being

24:14

able to take that, it's like its own attraction, which

24:17

I love that if you just want to

24:19

take the boat to and from and just

24:21

take a boat ride, that's really cool. And

24:24

the same thing you can do with some of

24:26

the other resorts that have the boat transportation. So

24:28

that's one of my favorite things about that area.

24:32

What does that Zagula mean? A

24:34

river? Oh my

24:37

god, you were in a river! I

24:39

was looking at something. It

24:42

is a Choctaw word for Mississippi. It's fun.

24:46

Spell Mississippi. M-I-S-S-I-S-S-I-P-P-I. She's

24:48

reading it. I'm looking at you. Hello. Unless

24:51

you have Mississippi tattooed across

24:53

your forehead. That's

24:59

not where my tattooed. Anyway, let's, okay, moving

25:01

on. Wow. Alright, since

25:03

I piggybacked and clearly we've just

25:05

lost control and lost count, I'm

25:08

going to

25:11

mention the Blue Lagoon, which is

25:13

the swimming pool located at French

25:16

Quarter. The

25:18

rest of the resort, it is very much inspired by

25:21

Mardi Gras. It has a beautiful and

25:23

unique and fun slide, which

25:26

looks like a giant sea serpent whose name

25:28

is, I should make that

25:30

the trivia question this week, but I won't, his name is

25:32

Scales. And you sort of

25:34

go down through Scales and down his tongue.

25:36

You can see King Neptune is sort of

25:38

displayed right on top of Scales

25:40

head. There's lots of Mardi Gras

25:42

characters, both in and around the pool area.

25:46

There's also a lot of water features and sprays,

25:49

this little aquatic play

25:52

area that's probably

25:54

been seven or eight

25:56

years ago replaced at the children's waiting pool

25:58

that has a cool little New

26:01

Orleans feel to it. There's soaking

26:03

water features and little playful areas.

26:05

There's a hot tub. There's

26:08

the Mardi Gras pool bar, a

26:10

perfect place again to relax after

26:14

swimming. Don't go into the

26:16

water until a half hour after eat. Plus

26:18

there's a lot of pool activities that all

26:20

the resorts have as well. There's also really

26:23

like one of the things I love about

26:25

this resort and I'm gonna save this because this

26:28

is actually one of the things that I have

26:30

on my list is the storytelling here,

26:32

including the story of Scales

26:35

is so deep and so

26:38

intricate. Unfortunately, so lost, but

26:40

I'll talk more about that when I get to that

26:43

on my list. But the

26:45

Blue Lagoon is a real and

26:47

because the resort is small, again,

26:50

that pool has never seemed or

26:52

felt crowded to me no matter

26:54

how crowded the resort itself may

26:56

may feel. So

26:58

I have a question. Is

27:01

Scales a sea serpent or an alligator? Scales?

27:06

I just, you know, I just want to, is

27:08

a sea serpent, right? He is a sea serpent.

27:10

Well, because he kind of looks alligator-ish. You've

27:13

never actually seen an alligator, have you? Well,

27:15

in many Florida, many videos.

27:19

You never smile at a crocodile. It's fine.

27:21

It doesn't matter. What is that,

27:24

Claude? I wasn't sure. All right, next on

27:26

my list. I have to like skip around

27:28

a little bit because you've taken a few

27:30

of mine. How

27:34

about just the general atmosphere? So

27:37

I know we talked about the size, but especially

27:39

at night or like right

27:42

when the sun is going

27:44

down, when the streetlights come

27:46

on and it just has

27:48

that really quiet, relaxing

27:51

feeling just to take a stroll

27:53

around the area down

27:56

by the river and it's a

27:58

neat resort. to just walk

28:00

around and take in. So

28:03

I know that we kind of talked about other

28:05

pieces of that, but I think that it's

28:08

so unique when

28:11

compared to the other resorts, I just, I

28:13

think it deserves its own bullet point. And

28:16

it did. It was actually like number two on

28:18

my list, and I thought about saving it for

28:20

last because for

28:23

me, it is, in addition to the size,

28:25

and yes, the food is the biggest attractor.

28:27

We've talked about my love of New

28:30

Orleans, but, and

28:32

it's the reason why I sort of keep referring to

28:34

it being as almost overlooked, because I think whether

28:36

you go to resort maybe to eat, and

28:39

because there's no, the one thing the resort doesn't have,

28:41

we'll talk when we get to Donnie, is there's no table

28:44

service restaurant. So a lot of times, Becky, unless

28:46

you're staying at the resort, you don't get a

28:48

lot of visitors to the resort. You know, you

28:50

get some people that come in for scat cats,

28:52

but the design and

28:55

the atmosphere, I think like many

28:57

of the Disney resorts is

29:00

transformative and transportive in that it

29:02

makes you feel like you're in

29:05

the quarter. And you, if you

29:07

pay attention to the details, you

29:09

see that inspiration of French

29:12

and Spanish and different areas

29:14

of American culture. So on

29:17

one hand, you get that vibrancy

29:19

of the quarter with

29:22

that soft jazz music sort of playing in

29:24

the background everywhere, which

29:26

creates such a wonderful yet energetic,

29:29

but not cacophonous kind of

29:32

mood that sort of mirrors what

29:34

you see in the city. There's always

29:36

music playing, right? Whether there's a festival

29:38

going on, or there's street parades or

29:40

street musicians. Music is such an important

29:42

and integral part of New Orleans culture.

29:45

I love, love, love the

29:47

architectural elegance of this resort.

29:51

The wrought iron balconies, the

29:53

colorful facade, the brickwork

29:55

even is amazing. This is a resort that

29:57

I think is meant to be. strolled

30:00

through and savored. And yes, you do get some

30:02

of the sort of the a lot of the

30:04

on the nose tributes to New

30:06

Orleans, right? You'll find things like the

30:08

Mardi Gras theme decorations and the artwork,

30:10

but you'll also find some more subtle

30:14

nods to the culture

30:17

and the heritage, even the street signs, like

30:19

even the street signs at the resort look

30:21

like and the names mirror

30:24

those that you find in

30:26

New Orleans. So you'll have Bourbon and

30:28

Royal and Dauphin Street. And so there's

30:31

a sense of thematic consistency,

30:33

no matter where you are

30:36

in this resort, even you

30:38

mentioned before, the landscaping, it's

30:40

gorgeous at night, it is

30:43

absolutely spectacular at night. And I

30:45

think that immersion

30:48

allows you to almost feel like you

30:50

are walking through the streets of New

30:53

Orleans, because it's small, because

30:55

the street signs are there, it's

30:57

a very easily navigable, navigable, navigable

31:00

resorts. I also think if you've

31:02

never been to New Orleans, I think it's a great

31:04

introduction to the culture and even the geography of

31:06

the city, maybe sparking your interest

31:09

to go and visit. By the way, New Orleans

31:11

is only about an eight hour drive, nine hour

31:13

drive from Orlando, if you ever

31:15

felt inspired. But like

31:17

for me, when I go through, and

31:20

again, none of the railings are higher

31:22

than three stories tall. So there's a

31:24

sense of scale.

31:27

And next time you walk through, look

31:30

at the wrought iron railings and balconies,

31:32

right in New Orleans itself is well

31:34

known for its very intricate medical work

31:36

that goes back to the 18th and

31:39

19th centuries, you can even see a little bit of

31:41

it on Main Street USA by the Crystal Art

31:44

Shop. But there

31:46

are such elaborate

31:49

little patterns, again, no detail, right? The

31:51

attention to detail is incredible.

31:53

So you will see these sort of scrolls

31:56

and floral motifs and classic

31:58

New Orleans design. that really sort

32:00

of highlight the craftsmanship and the

32:03

history that goes into this ironwork. Look

32:06

at the balconies, look at the railings, look at the

32:08

lamps, right? Look like, look at how

32:10

the lamp posts and the wrought iron that's used in the

32:12

lamp. I know it's ridiculous, but these are the sort of

32:15

things that I love because

32:17

all this combined, like you mentioned, the

32:20

landscaping, etc., the fountains and the

32:22

courtyards. Yeah, the

32:24

detail, I mean, down to the hitching

32:26

posts that you find around the area, which,

32:29

why would you put a hitching post, right,

32:31

in a resort? But it's that level of

32:34

detail that's amazing and the flowers when they're

32:36

in bloom and, like you said,

32:38

the gas lamps. I'm

32:40

going to explain why there's hitching posts in a little bit. Oh,

32:43

cool. Excellent. But

32:46

I love, you know, the fountains you mentioned,

32:48

just the whole landscaping

32:50

is so true to story and so

32:52

true to theme. I just

32:56

adore that entire area for the atmosphere.

32:59

And if you, and as you go

33:01

through, you'll see that the way the

33:03

buildings are designed to, especially if you

33:05

go to some of the outbuildings like seven or one,

33:07

which is sort of farthest from

33:09

the main building,

33:12

there are these wonderful little very

33:14

serene courtyards, some of which

33:17

face the the sasagoula that

33:20

you feel like you are all alone there, like,

33:23

and there's a wonderful little fountain in

33:25

the middle. So it's that serenity that I really

33:27

love about the resort as well. I

33:30

mean, would I not be Luman Jello if I didn't

33:32

go to the dining? Is that where I'm supposed to

33:34

go to next? Or do I say, you know, you're

33:36

starting to get down that list and I'm shocked

33:39

that the queue, the slog, but I think that

33:41

you had a little bit of an appetizer with

33:43

scatcat lounge and Japanese.

33:46

So I kind of tied you over

33:48

to get to dining itself. So

33:51

this resort, while it does not have

33:53

a sit down, and I know for

33:55

some, especially if you have young kids

33:57

and you're, you know, maybe you're by yourself.

34:00

and you're pushed to a stroll, you got two kids not having

34:02

a sit-down restaurant, maybe something

34:04

that you feel is something that's

34:06

lacking. Remember Port Orleans with boat

34:08

rights is literally a short

34:10

walk away. I like the

34:12

fact that it doesn't because we talked about

34:14

the intimacy and how quiet the resort is,

34:16

but there are a number of different dining

34:18

options. So we talked about Skat Cats Club,

34:21

right? So you have the lounge

34:24

and some of the appetizers that you can get

34:26

there. I think there's also a mac and cheese.

34:28

Now that I'm thinking back, I think there was like a little mac

34:30

and cheese trio or something.

34:33

I clearly, I need

34:35

to go back into a live dining review of

34:37

Skat Cats. Yes, clearly, which

34:39

we need to do together because I need

34:41

beignets with Kahlue. I want to

34:43

quickly just pull off to the side for a

34:45

second and thank you who's listening. Thank you for

34:48

letting this be what I get to do for

34:50

a living. Like this is wonderful.

34:52

I'm so excited. So you've got the club, you've

34:54

got the cafe. That's a thing about that. Over

34:56

at the pool

35:02

bar, there is Mardi Gras, which

35:04

I don't believe it

35:06

might have had food at one point, but I don't

35:08

believe it does. I think it's just some small bar

35:11

snacks. You can get pizza delivery

35:15

to your room at night,

35:17

but the Sascagoula Floatworks and Food Factory

35:20

is really where your main

35:23

dining option is going to be. It serves

35:25

breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It's

35:27

quick service, which I dig. I like

35:30

being able to sort of come and

35:32

go without having to commit almost too

35:34

much time, especially if you're taking a

35:36

leisurely day at a resort. I love the theming there. We talked

35:39

about that Mardi Gras type

35:41

theming as well, but like I said, they

35:43

do have breakfast, lunch, and dinner, everything from

35:46

waffles to omelets to a loaded tacho

35:48

bowl. Hello. Yeah.

35:51

Yeah. Right. I'm

35:53

not kidding. Still having a tacho.

35:55

What? I'm still having

35:57

a tachos. You're supposed to take me to Hollywood

35:59

Studios. tacos and we haven't been there.

36:02

So, Becky has never said, you know, I really

36:04

want to go to a counter service location somewhere

36:06

that's out in the sun with lots of children.

36:09

I don't remember you ever saying those words to

36:11

me. However, you can

36:13

get the basic, you know, burgers and sandwiches

36:15

and pizzas and passes and things like that.

36:17

But they also have New Orleans inspired specialties

36:19

as well. There's a honey barbecue pork sandwich,

36:21

there's ham and cheese. I believe this chicken

36:24

and they do some limited

36:26

time seasonal offerings at sasagoula

36:28

as well. So,

36:31

I really think like if I was going or staying,

36:33

I think I like the

36:35

food at scat cats, especially just

36:37

in terms of the location and

36:40

the type of, I think it's the most

36:42

New Orleans inspired food, but they do have

36:44

the quick service location there again. And

36:46

because I sort of almost include Riverside

36:48

as part of French Quarter because it

36:51

is so close, you do have boat

36:54

rights, dining hall and the other quick

36:56

service location at your disposal as well.

36:59

And it's so close, it almost seems like you do have

37:01

a sit down restaurant within that resort

37:03

even though it's a separate resort

37:05

technically. So totally agree. Next,

37:08

I guess. That's you. Is that

37:10

unless you want to spend some more time

37:12

on dining because again, we know you. I

37:14

do want to take it because I just checked Mardi

37:16

Gras because they do have food again. So I know

37:18

for what, so they have chicken salad sandwich, ham and

37:20

cheese sandwich, Caesar salad. I'm not sure

37:22

what that salad thing is. And a pretzel with cheese sauce.

37:24

I never met a pretzel and cheese sauce. I didn't like

37:26

it. That sounds good too. I'm

37:28

famished by the way. Thank

37:31

you for doing this before lunch. I

37:33

really, really appreciate that. Just so you know.

37:35

That's my favorite Becky. I'm always famished. Next

37:40

up, I'm going to do a very blanket

37:43

activities because at

37:46

this resort, especially for a moderate,

37:48

they have a lot of options

37:50

that you technically find

37:53

more deluxe than you find

37:55

at the moderate resorts, which I think this

37:57

is fantastic because you have everything from bike.

38:00

rentals and fishing

38:02

from there and boat for

38:07

those who partake which I

38:09

know that a lot of people are looking

38:11

for those really nice walking paths and jogging

38:13

trails to get their steps in. I'm

38:16

not gonna... We're

38:18

not gonna judge those people. We're not gonna

38:21

judge, absolutely. Campfires

38:23

and movies under the stars which

38:25

they haven't you know many of the resorts but

38:27

the one thing that I really love is

38:30

the horse-drawn carriages which you get

38:32

at Port Orleans French Quarter which

38:35

are... It's romantic and

38:37

a unique activity

38:40

that you can do with your loved one or your

38:42

family and I just absolutely love

38:45

the fact you have that evening

38:48

stroll or that evening

38:50

horse-drawn carriage ride around the property. So

38:54

I had the activities and they actually

38:56

had the horse-drawn carriage rides broken

38:59

out separately because I think this

39:01

is one of the

39:03

most overlooked experiences

39:06

in Walt Disney. I think you

39:08

know we hear about some of the special things that you

39:10

can do if you want to celebrate a special occasion. You

39:12

can take a you know you can do a firework screws

39:14

and things like that. I think a lot of people don't...

39:16

Again especially if you're not staying here you

39:18

don't think about the horse-drawn carriage ride. Yes you

39:21

can do it at Fort Wilderness. You

39:23

can also do it from Riverside but

39:27

again especially here because the

39:29

resort is primarily occupied by

39:32

guests who are staying there and not people sort of

39:34

coming in and out. I think

39:36

this is not just a romantic but

39:39

a nice family thing to do as

39:41

well especially if you can do it

39:43

at sunset. It's $65.

39:45

I think they last about a half hour so

39:47

you can book them. I think

39:49

it's two months out. I think it's

39:51

60 days and it's just this slow

39:53

quiet Sort

39:56

of meandering carriage ride along the

39:58

banks of the South. The ball,

40:00

the river, you see the architecture. You see

40:02

the ground in a way that you have

40:04

to wear that sort of walking through. you

40:06

can sit for people in it so you

40:08

can bring you know the whole family can

40:10

bring small children to. The horses

40:13

are beautiful, the usually fab the drive

40:15

all that is or take pictures. Wait

40:17

a minute. Wait a minute.

40:19

Oh. I know that letter that. Really

40:22

scares me when I see that.

40:25

maybe just. Maybe. This

40:27

week. Or. Next week.

40:30

Maybe. I'll do the live show.

40:33

From Port Orleans. And.

40:35

Take you on a carriage ride with

40:37

a lot. like so much for mercy.

40:39

It's. Of his own

40:41

hands together within my in one hand, the camera,

40:43

the other. Resorts

40:45

That's what I think we're that's what I

40:48

do is to deny into this episode will

40:50

explore the resort's or check out cat cats.

40:52

And then maybe will take a little. Romantic

40:55

hour drive a little me party and

40:57

to a romantic carriage ride for one

40:59

on you and nephew. Hundred and or

41:01

go a small thousand people in the

41:03

carriage? Yes oh my gosh I'm so

41:05

excited I'm says my son has landed.

41:07

We could plan out your cell with

41:09

ahead of time because assists I suppose

41:11

so difficult sex before you assess up

41:13

and put those of you know the

41:15

I have that the activities on there

41:17

was well on and I think you're

41:20

right and ends. I think. Betty

41:22

unless you've stayed at the resort so it used

41:24

to be that when you walked in used to

41:26

get like that. The sensible times will top of

41:29

this. What? This whole newspaper the have a list

41:31

of activity think sometimes people were so. So.

41:34

There's some look in a phone that we've

41:36

predictor of go in and look at the

41:38

papers and and seemed that because they do

41:40

have some. Ammo are

41:43

running a walking. Trail

41:45

They do fun runs I believe we

41:47

do every week. On

41:49

the week I think on Sunday mornings. They.

41:52

Do Fun runs. That. may or

41:54

may not end with been he's cool with as

41:56

it is usually does have their families are you

41:58

to run Well, you know, you

42:01

can have vignettes without actually running true.

42:03

That's the secret Like

42:05

many of the resorts there's movies under the stars

42:09

They usually do tons of activities out

42:11

by the pool, but they also do

42:13

some really cool seasonal events there So

42:16

during Mardi Gras, they have special decorations

42:18

activities. Usually there's a parade I think

42:20

they still do the golf

42:23

cart a little like mini golf cart

42:25

Mardi Gras parades I

42:27

think they also have king cake and if

42:29

you've never had king cake in New Orleans,

42:32

it's amazing And it's something that's served only

42:34

during Mardi Gras. I

42:36

also believe they do I think

42:38

we did do a lot of Activities around

42:40

Easter as well as certainly around

42:42

Christmas time as well. They've got

42:45

the campfire activities lots of arts

42:47

and crafts There's

42:49

also, you know, there's a lot

42:52

and I don't even say that's crammed into

42:54

this resort because it does not feel Powdered

42:56

or cramped at all. It's relatively sprawling for

42:58

the number of rooms are there but

43:02

Like any resort, you know, you sort

43:04

of choose your own adventure and how you want to enjoy

43:06

the resort but I love the fact that there's things for

43:09

adults and kids and families and couples

43:11

and individuals whatever sort of You

43:14

know, whatever your sort of fancy is there's something

43:16

there for you. I Completely

43:18

agree. I I love this resort and now I'm

43:20

jealous that I'm not going to be there Wednesday

43:22

so that I can Go and

43:25

partake in the activities that you've just like laid out

43:27

for Wednesday. I think that that would be a lot

43:29

of fun Again

43:31

Disney does such a great job with

43:35

Not only having the theme parks right

43:37

to go in and play in all day But

43:39

at resorts like this where they have so

43:41

many activities for the families to enjoy you

43:43

don't even really need to have the

43:47

theme park ticket every single day because there's so much

43:49

to do with the resort itself and This

43:52

just kind of Lends itself

43:54

to the fact that you can stay

43:56

there. Enjoy the pool. Have

43:58

a wonderful horse drop Carriage Ride,

44:01

eat, drink, be merry,

44:03

all at this wonderful quiet peaceful

44:05

little charming resort. Yeah.

44:08

You know, the last thing I'll have on my

44:10

list is it's almost

44:13

sort of a little bit of a lost add-on,

44:15

right? It's a lost because I think

44:17

there's a little bit of a lost backstory to the

44:19

resorts and it's one of the things back I think

44:21

that has sort of

44:23

diminished over time because, you

44:26

know, in the, I suppose

44:28

I think as new resorts were being built and in

44:31

the 80s, 90s, there was a

44:33

lot of attention that was paid to

44:35

storylines to back. I think Wilderness Lodge is a

44:37

great example. I don't know that the show never

44:39

off the top of my head, but Jim Corkus,

44:42

my, the late great Jim Corkus

44:45

and I spent a lot of time talking about the history

44:47

and the backstory of that resort. And

44:49

here was another one that's

44:51

been really lost over time because

44:53

originally these sort of twin

44:57

sister resorts were Port Orleans and

45:00

Dixie Landings, right? Before it was French Quarter

45:02

and Riverside, it was the Port Orleans was

45:04

its own resort and then Dixie Landings was

45:07

the other. And they created

45:09

this beautifully rich detailed tapestry

45:11

of fictional history

45:13

that began like

45:16

in the 1700s with the founding of

45:18

the resorts by French settlers. And I'm

45:20

going to mispronounce these names, but it was Pierre Dior

45:23

and Philip Leann, which sort

45:26

of they combined these names to

45:28

Port Orleans and that's how it

45:30

became Port Orleans. They

45:33

craft this history talking about how

45:36

this area was sold

45:39

to the Spanish in the late 1700s and they established

45:42

the Dixie Landings further up the

45:44

Sasegula rivers by, you know, Jonathan

45:46

Colby Peace. So it went

45:50

into a lot of detail. There was

45:52

a fictional history crafted with all of

45:54

these different characters that was Detailed

45:56

in a newspaper that they used to hand out

45:58

called the Dixie Landings. The Sensible, The

46:01

Sentinel and The Festival one

46:03

times and once the resorts

46:05

merged in. Two thousand

46:08

and one for a variety of

46:10

reasons, in addition to getting rid

46:12

of the negative connotation connotations associated

46:14

with the word Dixie itself. So

46:16

declaring was merged into Borderlines to

46:18

become Riverside and I think a

46:20

lot of the story unfortunately got

46:23

lost. Yes, you could, They still

46:25

do have. I bleed us

46:27

as who are times where they still hand out

46:29

when you check any could probably still get a

46:31

copy as he walked up to the front desk.

46:33

but a lot of that story line. Was.

46:36

Law. So you're you're talking before about. Skills.

46:40

They created this huge

46:42

backstory. For. A water

46:44

slide right? discover his old

46:46

scales began with the Native

46:49

American exploration and exploration of

46:51

over how the sensible river

46:53

itself formed up to prevent

46:55

the see from consuming the

46:57

waters. River split into a

46:59

thousand little small reversed that

47:01

created this delta and. In.

47:04

Order to prevent kids from some

47:06

of the dangers in the by

47:08

you like alligators and snakes. Parents

47:10

can talk to this whole story

47:12

about skills which was this creature

47:14

that dwell beneath the waters of

47:16

the swamp that would pray on

47:18

kids if they got too close

47:20

to the water like so it's

47:22

was business hours of it was

47:24

sort of like the was it

47:26

was a folktale by their parents

47:28

had created and. And then

47:30

far he's or kids are sort

47:32

of doubt the existence of skills

47:35

Some of the parents decide to

47:37

to bring the smith to life

47:39

and make sense to constructed as

47:41

large sea serpents from you know

47:43

fence wire and painted all these

47:46

different colors and that makeshift serpent

47:48

is what ended up becoming Skills.

47:51

Wow. It's. butcher

47:54

that story as a lot it's because i

47:56

don't have all the details and for me

47:58

but that's what i mean is create

48:01

a water slide but they create this this

48:03

legend that's behind it. That's one of the

48:05

things that they sadly get lost

48:08

right because there is no great big book

48:10

of Imagineering. You don't necessarily know to think

48:12

to ask somebody and I'm not sure that

48:14

all the cast members there might know all

48:17

of these stories anymore and that's why I

48:19

loved having Jim on the show because we

48:21

were able to he especially was able to

48:24

really keep a lot of those stories alive.

48:26

I was gonna say he was a walking

48:28

encyclopedia of all of that detail and

48:32

truly miss him that's for sure. So is

48:34

there anything else? Do you have anything else on

48:36

your list? Yeah I do have

48:38

one other and it's it's

48:40

just the fact that the resort

48:43

offers so much at

48:45

a moderate price. So you have a

48:47

lot of room options from a standard

48:49

view to a garden view to the

48:51

river view. They are about 314

48:53

square feet. You can get a king-sized

48:58

bed for two or two queen

49:00

beds that sleep four

49:02

and that resort of

49:04

course has a maximum of four for

49:07

the two queen beds but it is a

49:09

moderate resort therefore it's coming at a moderate

49:11

price so you can still enjoy a Walt

49:13

Disney World vacation without blowing out the budget.

49:16

Yeah and I think I think this

49:19

resort is and

49:21

should be attractive whether you are going

49:25

as a family or even like as a

49:27

solo traveler too and I love where this

49:29

sits like you said budget wise

49:32

because I think you could have you

49:35

don't need to stay at a deluxe resort

49:37

to have a truly magical immersive well

49:40

themed well-fed

49:42

experience at any of the

49:45

resorts and I think it's like

49:47

I said I think this resort is

49:49

one of my favorites because it is

49:51

unique in terms of its size in

49:53

terms of its theming and location location

49:55

location I think it's great they're super

49:57

close to Magic Kingdom you're super close

50:00

Epcot. You've got the Sassagoula River in

50:02

order to get to Dizzy Springs and

50:04

obviously you have the bus transportation as

50:06

well. Anything

50:09

else? Is there anything else you missed? Anything else? No,

50:12

I think that that pretty much covers it.

50:14

There were several things, like I said, that

50:16

I had bullet points that we rolled into

50:18

each other, but I

50:20

guess the only other things if you could

50:23

actually visit Porter-Lien's

50:26

French Quarter at

50:29

Mardi Gras itself. How

50:31

cool would that be? I know that they

50:33

do have some special things that happen

50:35

during that time. Just

50:37

some really cool entertainment

50:39

options, a little parade here or there, and then

50:43

of course just being

50:45

in that whole entire atmosphere. If you can't

50:47

be in Norlien's itself, that's a good second

50:49

option. And I wonder, Becky, with

50:52

the opening of Tiana's Bayou Adventure coming

50:54

very, very soon, how much more is

50:56

this resort going to be on the

50:58

radar of people that, like me, not

51:01

just love New Orleans, I love, love,

51:03

love Princess and the Frog. I think

51:05

there's going to be a lot of connective tissue between

51:07

this resort and Riverside as well. I think not even

51:09

as much this year and that new

51:12

attraction that's opening up this summer in Magic

51:14

Kingdom. Well, I think that there's

51:16

all kinds of excuses to book your trip and

51:19

to stay at French Quarter isn't there with all of this

51:21

coming. And I'm with you. That's

51:23

one of the reasons I think why

51:26

we love Disney Cruise Line so much

51:28

is that addition of Tiana's plays. I

51:30

love the music.

51:33

I love just that

51:35

whole storyline and to

51:37

be able to to

51:39

envelop yourself in that story either

51:42

on sea or on land is a really,

51:44

really cool option. I want to book myself

51:47

a little state. Wait. Oh,

51:49

no, here you go. Oh my God. Instead of

51:51

calling Becky Maccon from Mouseman Travel, I could just

51:53

tell Becky that maybe I want to do like

51:55

a one day staycation there. I Can

51:57

show off the resort and the rooms. And

52:00

of food. And to the carriage ride

52:02

endless as a goal of all in

52:04

one. It's. A win,

52:06

win, win for everybody. And

52:09

pulling up the fucking an indictable offences

lines from every single attraction? It

54:32

any or all these, I invite you to enter

54:34

contest where you can enter for a chance to

55:35

55:37

get to this week's question, let's go back, review

55:39

last week's and select our winner. So

55:42

last week I asked you simply where in Walt

55:45

Disney World can or could you sail

55:47

the River of Time? Now let me start by saying

55:50

that the background music from this attraction was one of

55:52

my favorites in Epcot Center. And if you know you

55:54

know and you got it correct, you know that the

55:56

answer is El Rio del

55:58

Tiempo, which I believe

56:01

means the River of Time. This

56:03

original opening day attraction within the

56:05

Mexico Pavilion and World Showcase took

56:07

us on a captivating journey through

56:09

Mexico's historical and mythical and scenic

56:12

vistas with not one but two

56:14

songs crafted by Accutentio and Armando

56:16

Corral in January 2007 El Rio

56:19

del Tienpo underwent a significant transformation

56:21

closing its doors and then reopening

56:23

as the Grand Fiesta Tour starring

56:26

not one, not two, but all

56:28

three Caballeros. Anyway, I took all

56:30

the correct entries, randomly selected one. Last

56:32

week you were playing for a WWE

56:34

Radio 3D keychain, stickers,

56:36

a pin, and a mystery

56:38

prize and last week's winner,

56:40

randomly selected, is Pete

56:43

Nell. So Pete, congratulations. I

56:46

will get your prize package out to you right

56:48

away. And if you entered last week and didn't

56:50

win, that's okay because here's your next chance to

56:52

enter in this week's Walt Disney World Trivia Challenge.

56:56

We are going to stay at Disney's

56:58

Port Orleans French Quarter Resort this week

57:00

because I want you to tell me

57:03

what was the name of the original,

57:05

now closed, table service restaurant located at

57:07

Disney's Port Orleans French Quarter Resort. You

57:10

have until Sunday, April 7th at

57:12

11.59pm Eastern to go to www.radio.com. Click

57:14

57:17

the form there and again you're

57:19

57:21

pin, stickers, and a mystery prize. So

57:24

good luck and have fun. Huge,

57:33

57:54

57:56

57:58
