LEAH HOWARD has effectively utilized her role as a mentee to master the commitment it takes to pursue her dreams while being a light in the lives of others. Her passion for making a difference in the world has positioned her to impact the lives of thousands of students through teaching and counseling experiences.

Leah received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from the illustrious Spelman College, followed by a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling from Georgia State University. Leah has presented at multiple counseling conferences in the southeastern region and is currently pursuing her Ph.D in the counseling field. She has a certificate in Sports Counseling from Cal U.

During her time at Spelman College, she was elected by her teammates to be the captain of the tennis team and was awarded with the Sportsmanship Award and the Coach’s Award for demonstrating strong leadership abilities. “Spelman Tennis Team Gives Back to the Community” was Leah’s first published article for the college which was followed by many other opportunities. She has been featured in the New York Times article “At a College Dropping Sports in Favor of Fitness”. Leah has returned to both Georgia State University and Spelman College as an alumna to speak with current students about how to be an impactful presence in their careers. She currently uses her instagram profile @thesportscounselor to advocate for mental health awareness specifically for the athlete community.
