It was a relatively successful week in the life of West Ham United. A club-record 5-0 victory over Freiburg in the Europa League set up a third consecutive European semi-final, before a hugely controversial 1-1 draw with high-flying Aston Villa in the Premier League.The controversy was, as always, sparked by VAR and their failure to exercise their own 'Clear and Obvious' guidelines. The second disallowed goal was indeed handball, but the first? There is no conclusive evidence that the ball hit Michail Antonio's hand, so the onfield decision should've stood. Instead, VAR failed to do its job and ruled out the goal on what appears to be a hunch. Clear and obvious?
