*Appologies for the poor audio quality, we tried a new recording set up but it was not as successfull as hoped*For our first episode in...checks calendar... uuuhhh a while, we bring you an absolute bumper Wheel of Time special. We are all ver
Wow it's been a while! Sorry for the long break folks, here is a short one for you, looking at two shows we have recently watched and a bit of a retrospective on the last year.
Our very first Special Guest! Poke Professor G joins us to rate the dads in the Pokemon Franchise, or it might be more acucrate to say the lack of dads.Find us on Twitter @weratethedads
Sorry for the bad audio quality this week, we are still working out the kinks for recording over the internet. This week its a Novella from Dani, about magic and murder in Cairo, and a Korean Drama from Julia about a prince who loses his memo
Julia does her favourite movie (and maybe Dani's least favourite) which you should all definitely watch, and Dani heroically sacrifices 3 hours of her time to review The Sound of Music, though starting just before bedtime was her own idea.
All the Bs for february! Two very different pieces of media, with some very different dads.In this episode there is a very small discusion on race and colourism in Bridgerton, the video mentioned can be found here https://www.youtube.com/watc
Back for part 2 of our Cosmere extravaganza, we discuss mistborn era 2, frantically try to remember all the other dads in the stormlight archive, and discuss why Hoid should not be a father under any circumstances.
We return to the Cosmere to rate even more dads, there are lot so today we bring the dads from Mistborn and Elantris to the table. Will any of them be any good?
For our Christmas special we have chosen to rate a few Christmas dads. No not our dads (though they did pretty well this year)but Dads featured in a variety of christmas films, from the new and pretty good, to the truely terrible.
This week we are well behind the curve, each of us watching something we should have seen a long time ago.NB: we recorded this episode before the episode where we talked twilight, just in case our ecitement to record an episode we have alread
Today we wade into Twilight, and though the romance has been dissected to death the dads haven't. We also look at a big literature classic, but only the early 2000s movie version, neither of us have the time to read Dumas (and who does?)
In honour of Rhythm of War coming out this november I rated the dads from The Stormlight Archive, one of my favourite fantasy series, and Dani went for everyone's favourite animated Dad movie, finding Nemo!
A deviation from your usual programming to look at the whole of an extended universe, the DC extended universe to be precise. This week Julia is confused by Jonathan Kent and Dani rates some dads from a movie neiher of us have watched!
A short one this week, one piece of classic literature and one masterpiece of a movie, each with a single dad.
For once we are up to date and rating dads in TV that has come out this month. To celebrate season 2 of The Umbrella Academy and season 3 of Good Girls we decided to rate their dads, enjoy!
This week we almost rate a mum, but avoid it at the last minute, and try to decide if George Washington is Hamilton's father, in the musical at least.
Part two is here, where Dani tells us about flying boats, revenge oaths, people coming back from the dead, and just the best hair you've ever seen.
We all know Sam is the mvp, Frodo needs a break and Faramir is hot in a kind of nerdy way, but have you considered their dads? This week we discuss that and more. Stay tuned for the Silmarillion dads in part two, who truly are the worst.
Two very different dads this week, Jean Valjean versus Steve Stronghold from sky high. The superhero with amazing strength would clearly win in a physical fight, but a parenting fight? Let's find out.
This week its the best cancelled show on netflix and another asian drama, this time from korea. Learn about why Julia loves k-dramas and how you can still be a good dad even if you murder people for your wife to eat.
So we both watched some interesting shows on Netflix recently. Here we are talking about some dads, Dannie's TV watching habits, and Julia's frustration at fantasy names and her complete lack of research.
Part 2 of our MCU dad extraveganza, enjoy Julia complaining about how Tony Stark is a bad parent to 4 out of 5 of his kids. Yes 5. Listen to find out more.
We take a deep dive into the MCU and list all the fathers (and father figures) we could find. Turns out there are a lot so we had to split into two parts, next episode out monday the 20th.
We hope you are all doing well in these crazy times! Take the time to relax and listen to us discuss Rick O'Connell and Mr Bennett, do they make the cut?
Our first foray into gaming dads, and my current favourite show. Lots of bad dads abound!
