Grief doesn't equal repentance. All it means is that you've had a change of emotions due to a change in circumstances. Being grieved because sin has demanded that you pay up is normal and natural. Any sane person is going to be grieved when they have to pay the piper. You'd have to be completely narcissistic and a psychopath to have no remorse whatsoever. However, sorry is not the same as repentance.
