Dr. Klapper starts this hour by speaking about different ways that women display confidence. Barbra Streisand, his example in music, had confidence in herself and in her talent. She resisted many requests over the year to alter her physical appearance or her last name. Pat Summitt is Doc's example of women's confidence in sports. She was a very successful college basketball coach and she talks about how she got all of her confidence from the way her father treated her. She taught all of her athletes to have confidence in themselves. Orthopedic trauma surgeon and teacher Carol Lin joins the Doc to discuss her confident career. He describes her as a pioneer in her career and specialty. She went to college at Stanford, medical school at Washington University, and did her residency at UC San Francisco. Doc takes calls from listener Mario to diagnose his wrist pain issues with his own brand of Klapper Vision. The Apple Pan has been in business since 1947 and has the best cream pie that Doc has ever had. The restaurant is operated by all women and has resisted selling any of their recipes to larger corporations. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
