Dawna Gillespie, copper smith extraordinaire at Copper d Studio, personifies the saying “good things come in small packages!” She is petite in stature but she is large and explosive in the wearable art she creates in her little studio just outside of Lubbock.  She graciously welcomed me into her inspirational work space where we chatted about how she became an artist, how she discovered her talents with metals, the struggles of being a fine artist in the Lubbock area, how starting a family has affected her work, and the process she follows to actualize her glorious organic pieces!
