And you're listening to, With

5:59

the voice of your childhood, Tony Shavani, Tony, what's going on, man?

6:03

How are you? Well, Connor and I'm doing great.

6:06

It's been a week since we a reveal the tattoo.

6:08

I want to let you know I I've, I don't have any more tattoos Yet,

6:16

But I did go back and listen again to last week's podcast.

6:21

I had a friend of mine from Virginia, who was the best man at our wedding.

6:30

And he was on the phone.

6:32

And well, unfortunately for a lot of my hometown boys in Virginia, they just don't have time for the internet.

6:40

That's

6:44

true. That's a true statement.

6:45

So I said, he said he came up, he said, you know, see, you know, what, what best buddies do?

6:53

Don't you? Oh, I said, I said, no, what did they do?

6:55

He said, give each other shit.

6:57

I said, well, interestingly enough, I said, I know you've never heard my podcast because you don't even know where the internet is.

7:07

He's an eye he's got, I don't even bother that shit.

7:10

He said, what is it? A pod?

7:11

What is it's true?

7:13

This is, this is not a bullshit story.

7:16

I said a podcast.

7:17

He said, okay.

7:18

I said, so I said, I'm gonna let you, I'll put my phone on speaker and let him listen to you giving me shit about the, about the tattoo.

7:29

And he said to add fella, they're giving you a lot of shit.

7:32

Sidney said, he sure is.

7:35

He sure is.

7:36

He said, well, I do you like the tattoo.

7:39

I said, love it. We'll get some more. He said, well, there you go.

7:41

He said, you'll get a tattoo and you get a lot more shit accurate.

7:46

And, and he's accurate.

7:48

Yeah. So I'm ready to get a lot more shit from, Well,

7:51

if you'd like to get some more shit, Tony, I can't believe that our outfit is this enterprising maybe is the right word.

8:01

You want to show everybody that, I guess you can't show everybody the tattoo right now.

8:05

Cause you're wearing a hoodie, but you saw it last week.

8:07

Oh, he think he can do that?

8:09

Nah, I can't do it. I can't say that's leaving, going then.

8:12

Huh? Now anyway, the point is, I think we all want to be like Tony when we grow up.

8:19

Well maybe not in every way, but in a lot of ways.

8:22

And if you'd like to be like Tony cruise on over to box of gimmicks.com, we have bugged temporary tattoos.

8:31

Oh my God.

8:33

I can't believe it's real Tony, but we have them.

8:35

We have a limited quantity, but it is an exact replica of Tony Giovanni's bug tattoo.

8:41

Yes, this is real.

8:43

And you can get one [email protected].

8:49

I got to tell you, this feels a little bit like when Jim cornet sold burger towels, which was hilarious.

8:55

I think we've talked about this before. The idea being that Jim used to be a road warrior.

9:00

He was on the road making towns every single day of his life.

9:03

So you learn to do things in the car.

9:06

One of which is eight of burger, right?

9:09

So he'd hit that old Wendy's triple or whatever it was.

9:12

You know, Bruce has retained.

9:14

I think Bruce said it wrong all these years too.

9:16

Anyway. Point is he would drape himself in a towel and he called it the burger towel and fanfare on line.

9:27

He sold Jim cornet burger towels, which I thought, boy, that's a genius idea.

9:33

Yeah. And now all these years later here we are.

9:35

Last week you reveal a bug tattoo.

9:38

One week later, we've got bugged, temporary tattoos available for sale.

9:44

Well, if there's anybody, who's a genius and making money.

9:46

I'm looking at him.

9:49

Bug temporary tattoos might be one of our most crazy out there ideas yet.

9:54

Yeah. It's pretty tremendous.

9:56

I don't, I've never, I've won.

9:59

I wondered about this. And I wondered about the shirt, which is also [email protected].

10:02

I'm

10:16

10:18

Well, I mean, listen, we're happy to cut him in on our temporary tattoo sales where you have the mindset that this was going to be a very lucrative venture.

10:25

You know? I know you said We'll

10:28

give him, we'll give him three bucks.

10:30

I know he said, boy, if I know anybody who knows how to make money, it's you it's like how much money do you think we're going to make on a handful of temporary tattoos.

10:37

This is more about servicing the audience, but yeah.

10:40

How about this? He can keep all the money on the temporary tattoos.

10:43

I just knew that this would be something that would be a fun sort of gag gift for the ultimate WHW listener.

10:52

Yeah. And hopefully the next time we all get together, they'll all wear their temporary bug tattoos to our low-key big Hawk, top guy weekend.

11:00

And that photo op everybody doing that, that bicep pose like he had yesterday, except these folks will we'll actually put the self-tanner on and get fully gimmick it up because you said, oh, I need a, some biceps and a tan.

11:13

Yeah. But either way, check it out.

11:16

Boxing, gimmicks.com, bug temporary tattoos.

11:18

Can you believe that's a real thing, man?

11:20

What are we doing over here? W w what are we doing?

11:23

What are we doing? We're just, we're living the life.

11:26

And if you're going to get one of those bug tattoos, please.

11:32

Yeah. Get one, put it on your neck.

11:35

That'll be good. Put it on your neck.

11:37

Also. We'll let you know the visit geico.com.

11:39

And you'll see, switching your insurance coverage.

11:43

Doesn't have to be scary. Conrad.

11:45

I gotta tell you, man, I got a mixed emotions about today's show.

11:49

Of course, we're doing a watch along today. You already know we're up championship wrestling, season two, episode 42, October 25th, 1986.

11:59

This is a, the best of times, the worst of times.

12:07

Yes, it is. It's one of the, one of the better angles.

12:09

One of the, I guess the most memorable, one of the most, most memorable angles that we did with dusty and the four horsemen.

12:15

And then of course, we're going to address and only the way we could do it, what happened to Magnum?

12:22

Cause now it's it's happened and we've got to react to it.

12:25

And we've got to scramble to do something in his place.

12:30

Last week we had Magnum talk about Nikita call off.

12:35

And I was wondering if it was going to be Magnum and Nikita again at star Kate 86, which is going to feature the, the road warriors in the, in the midnight express in that famous LA scaffold match.

12:49

But then again, we also talked about the, the feeling was that Magnum was going to get his world title shot a shot that he never got the to Cole off, got the shot because Magnum had his wreck on the 14th of October.

13:04

This airs on October 25th.

13:06

I believe the show that we're going to show.

13:08

So it actually was taped.

13:11

When do you have that information when it was taped?

13:15

Yeah, I do. Let me, it was done on October 19th.

13:18

So six days ahead of the airtime.

13:21

Yeah. And five days after his wreck. Yes.

13:23

And of course, even five days after his wreck, we were really unsure if he would pull through or not.

13:30

Right. But we didn't come across that way on TV as the old wrestling way to do things back then was not the really talk about it.

13:42

Just try to make a positive spin on it.

13:44

And of course, you know, you, you, you don't even really, even when someone is in critical condition, like for instance, when Brody Lee was in critical condition, we knew we didn't talk about it.

13:58

We didn't talk about him at all. Right.

14:00

Because you don't want to.

14:02

But anyway, so it was, it was a tough time for us, but I think we pull through, okay.

14:08

I think we had a good star case and at some very good matches, it was, it was quite a moment.

14:16

I don't, are we going to show Nikita healthy, dusty in the cage here in this show?

14:19

I'm not so sure. I'm not sure either, but you know, we're gonna, we're gonna enjoy the whole show, but I do know that it's going to be a stressful show.

14:29

Tony, you know, it's a, it's a pretty brief one.

14:32

We've talked about that in recent weeks that a lot of these on the network are trimmed down.

14:36

Originally, this was a 60 minute episode, but now it's 34 minutes.

14:41

So clearly they've cut a few things out of here.

14:43

Maybe they were sponsored elements or what have you.

14:45

I'm not exactly sure, but it's only a 34 minute watch along, but I just know it's going to be a stressful 34 minutes.

14:54

Yeah, it is. It's going to be stressful in many ways.

14:57

And you know, I don't know how you relax.

15:03

Focus are unwind after stress Conrad.

16:53

My friends in Craigsville, you know, I talked about my, my good friend, Kenny, who had talked on the phone, he's been smoking his entire life and Craigsville is like kind of remote town that hasn't caught up with the times.

17:05

You know, a lot of people smoke.

17:07

It's just different on, and I want to see if I can get them on, on Lucy.

17:15

Well, listen, I I'm excited for our show today, but I feel like we should talk about some other happenings and goings on in and around the wrassling business and your life.

17:25

Before we talk about wrassling, let's just talk about you here for a minute.

17:31

Okay. That's good. What's that?

17:33

Is it good? Is it going to involve the word rebel?

17:36

No. Ooh, thank God.

17:38

Oh, wait. What's the family thinking of what your, of your debt.

17:44

Yeah. Okay. Well, as you know, I, when it was done and Craig took the pictures of the tattoo and sent it to me, I immediately sent it to two people.

17:57

I sent the Lois and I sent it to Lori.

18:00

And

18:00

Lori

18:00

said,

18:00

no,

18:00

you

18:00

didn't

18:00

serve

18:00

response

18:00

as

18:00

a

18:00

yes,

18:00

that's

18:00

my

18:11

arm. And of course, Laurie being, working with us has become a very good stooge and immediately sent it to you and sent it to all my brothers.

18:22

Lois just kind of rolled her eyes.

18:24

Like, you know, you're out of your mind type.

18:26

It didn't make that big of a deal out of it.

18:28

But then the kids started getting in touch with me.

18:31

Chris Shavani said, I want to see it, come on, show it to me.

18:36

And I sent him a text. I said, you got the picture.

18:38

Didn't you? He went, yeah. I said, he looks the same.

18:42

Okay. I'm not putting my arm in front of a, a phone for you because it looks the same.

18:47

Matt kinda like shrugged it off.

18:49

Cause that's the way he is.

18:50

Tim

18:50

wanted

18:50

to

18:50

know

18:50

why

18:50

everybody

18:50

got

18:50

in

18:50

touch

18:50

with

18:50

him

18:50

when

18:50

I

18:50

had

18:50

a

18:50

tattoo

18:50

mess,

18:50

because

18:50

Tim

18:50

has

18:50

a

18:50

lot

18:50

of

19:01

tattoos.

19:01

He

19:01

said,

19:01

so

19:01

you

19:01

following

19:01

my

19:04

footsteps? Huh? I said, I guess, I don't know.

19:07

And then John Michael who's, you know, removed from the family.

19:11

I don't even know if he's still alive or not, to be honest with you.

19:14

So that's kind of the reaction.

19:17

I haven't seen much of a reaction on, and I'm sure there's been on social media, but, but there it is.

19:27

There it is.

19:29

And like I said, last time, there's gonna be a more tattoos on the way I'm going to look like Malikai black.

19:40

What will your new gimmick name be?

19:43

Anthony Black.

19:44

Oh, Just going straight with it.

19:47

Huh? That's right.

19:50

RTS punk.

19:52

Oh. Or, or doc Shavani.

19:58

Oh, okay. So you're, you're definitely leaning into the wrestling bit.

20:02

Yeah, of course. That's my that's that's my life.

20:05

Thanks to you again. Well, you were going to get a bunch of Japanese tattoos, Right?

20:11

Strength would have perseverance, you know, things like that.

20:17

These symbols, that mean something that, How

20:21

have you demonstrated strength in your life?

20:23

Tell us about some of those challenges that led you to this decision to get a tattoo of the word strength in Japanese.

20:30

Right? I'm keeping this house when I lost my job in wrestling.

20:33

Okay.

20:33

Putting

20:33

up

20:33

with

20:33

some

20:33

bullshit

20:33

in

20:33

your

20:33

marriage

20:33

and

20:33

take

20:33

strength,

20:41

right?

20:41

Being

20:41

a,

20:41

20:41

20:41

20:55

Okay. Only take strength.

20:59

Okay.

20:59

Lifting

21:02

boxes. When Lois bosses me around in the basement, It's

21:06

a lifting boxes. There you go. I mean, I know, I sometimes think when Megan asked me to take the trash out, recognize to get a tattoo, to celebrate this Commemorate, the moment.

21:19

Yes you should.

21:20

And

21:20

your

21:20

tattoos

21:20

should

21:20

say,

21:20

I

21:20

know

21:20

who

21:20

my

21:20

boss

21:25

is. You could get any type of tattoo.

21:27

You want any type at all, any font, any font and, and you get approval by Megan and put a little tally mark under your red tattoo.

21:36

Every time you do something that Megan approves, how does that sound?

21:41

Hmm. Also, I want to let you know, Conrad, that Geico is more than just insurance for your car.

21:47

It's also insurance for your motorcycle boat, even your RV.

21:52

Well, you know, you were talking about the Japanese tattoos and since we're leaning into wrestler names, do you remember or do you remember?

22:03

Our Kushi Hot

22:06

Kushi seems familiar to me.

22:08

So throwing the Google machine, you know what?

22:10

You got the computer

22:12

yeah. Okay. And just type in WWF, R Kushi, WWF.

22:17

And you'll see what will probably pop up as the Wikipedia for generation Saki, But you can Google image it.

22:27

Yeah, I see it. And

22:29

so you see all the letters Going

22:31

on. I'm not doing that. No, No, no, no.

22:33

I'm not doing that. And I'm not even suggesting that you do that.

22:37

Yeah. But you were saying, I'm going to call myself, you know, doc Shavani and you know, Malakal Shavani and Tony black or whatever.

22:46

What if you called yourself?

22:49

Tony

22:49

had

22:52

Kushi. Tony. How cushy or Hufu Shavani At

22:56

Kushi? Shavani.

22:59

I mean, cause look at that's a cool look.

23:00

Now you might, even if you're good languaging, you might even see his manager there and you could just have Dave silver follow you around like that With,

23:07

with white face paint and a beard dude Telling

23:11

me that. Wouldn't be hilarious.

23:13

Yeah. I, you say that's a cool look.

23:16

That's not a cool look.

23:18

No, no, no, no. I'm not Saying that's that's being drunk as well.

23:23

I'm talking about a name. Oh, you mean the, the outfit?

23:25

I just thought dress and Tony up locked the army and you're Tony dressing Silva of like, that would be hilarious.

23:30

Yeah. You know, think, Yeah.

23:33

I think, I think it'd be okay.

23:34

Listen, I, I, I need to interrupt you here and, and, and say that you mentioned last week on our podcast, we are not allowed to mention Dave's name anymore.

23:45

That's Right. And I appreciate you holding me accountable for that.

23:47

We're trying to do better. Right.

23:49

So he's made it clear. He does not.

23:51

He doesn't listen to the show and he doesn't appreciate our comedy or comedy.

23:57

Our lame attempts at comedy and No

24:00

blame attempts at comedy.

24:00

We will never mention his name again.

24:04

Shit is everywhere.

24:05

Bullshit is rampant.

24:07

So

24:07

I,

24:07

yeah,

24:07

we,

24:07

I

24:14

apologize. He was actually not happy that I even mentioned it last week.

24:19

Yeah. Yeah. I know. I talked to him on the phone about a graphic and he was like very he's Curry.

24:27

Yeah. Very And almost feels like he might be updating his resume over there.

24:33

Really? What do you think Taz is not hiring?

24:39

You know, I almost had a funny bit, I had lost and tape, but then I remembered we're not doing that.

24:43

So yeah. Right.

24:45

It's almost like a, I don't know, man, you know, between Casio be an eat up with herpes.

24:53

Cassie has herpes as a new shirt available now boxing gimmicks.com.

24:58

And now those we do not speak of, it feels like I need to take a page out of your book and just get like a new best friend, because you're your best friend's bug.

25:09

Hell, you got a tattoo for that damn dog.

25:11

That's how much he loved the dog.

25:13

Okay. Let's not say damn dog again.

25:15

Sorry. That's how much he loved bug.

25:17

And I know that you're taking care of bug.

25:20

And I know that because you're feeding bug solid gold.

25:25

Yep. You know that 80% of the immune system is influenced by the gut.

25:29

Tony. I did know that.

25:31

And the reason I know that is I've done my homework on dog food.

25:34

Well, solid gold is passionate about gut health because a healthy digestive system positively impacts the immune system and overall wellness of our pets and solid Gold's nutritional platform is inspired by their founding belief.

26:55

I can't recommend solid gold enough.

26:58

It's a big hit in my house, your house Bruce's house.

27:01

In fact, when Bruce and Stephanie came to visit, when they came in immediately, they couldn't wait to comment on, oh, look, solid gold because we to feed our dog solid gold.

27:11

And even though you and Bruce Prichard don't have a lot in common.

27:14

You have me in solid golden calm.

27:16

And how about that? We have a lot in common and obviously our love for dogs and know, yeah, solid gold is, has changed the dynamic in our, in our house.

27:26

I mentioned it was the first holistic pet food company in 1974.

27:32

And that's all I needed to hear.

27:35

Cause I know it's good and he loves it.

27:37

And chihuahuas are finicky.

27:40

Lowe's calls him a cat many ways, but he's a dog RG buddy.

27:47

Your dog C he's a dog.

27:54

Well, Tony, this is, I gotta tell you.

27:58

I've been a little nervous about even getting into this episode because we've talked about it all year.

28:03

I mean, we knew at the beginning of year it was coming, but it still feels like it's kind of snuck up on me because we've just had so much fun with and so many other of these talents, and we've had so much fun with Ron Garvin's promos and you know, the funny ARN Anderson quips here and there, and now today it's going to get serious and the show starts serious.

28:23

And I think the best thing for us to do is just go ahead and rip the band-aid off, man.

28:29

So without further ado, fire up your peacock world championship wrestling's once you want to search for it.

28:35

Season two, episode 42, October 25th, 1986, and Tony I'm locked and loaded on my end.

28:42

I think we have a special countdown tonight.

28:45

We have a special countdown. And once again, I wanna remind everybody that the way the, these work on the peacock, once you hit play, there's going to be a few seconds of, of black blackness before it doesn't start immediately.

28:57

In other words, so just hanging air, hit play from our special countdown and oh, by the way, we're going to go to our buddy turd Ferguson.

29:04

Oh, that's what's, that's not a drill name, but that's kind of what his, how do you know that's what his handle is on?

29:14

Well, he says he's real name on here, but that's what his handle is on, on his email.

29:19

Yeah. And I know what turd Ferguson is.

29:21

I know it's a Saturday night live thing or whatever, but anyway, Hey,

29:26

before we go to our countdown one to also thank our sponsor here.

29:30

Geico, be sure to get a quote [email protected].

29:36

Let's go to this week's countdown on what happened when hello, slab digs.

29:40

John Stayton out here in Delwin, Virginia.

29:42

Here's your countdown here.

29:45

We add that lavender and color though.

29:47

What happened? Well with your whole, the field with hung devil, Tony Silvana and look Huffman Kamath Hampton.

29:55

If you will. And sweet to play.

30:04

Come on, come on in the parking lot.

30:05

Come on now.

30:09

Yeah. Right back there to Crockett's office.

30:10

Got

30:13

it. Now I'm going to be very smooth.

30:17

Don't

30:17

you

30:19

worry? You just keep that camera. Oh, there's my car.

30:45

So which car was yours?

30:47

The white Pontiac grandam next to the truck.

30:51

The old land cruiser. The old Toyota SUV there.

30:54

Oh man.

30:55

I think it was the guy who did our photography At

30:59

dude's cars worth more money than all the rest.

31:01

Now how about that? Damn.

31:04

How about that? I can't believe this is the whole, we're going to show the whole thing.

31:07

I guess of this. Now here, we're gonna talk about Magnum briefly Gentlemen,

31:11

welcome to world championship wrestling and Tony.

31:14

I am very happy to say that magnet TA is doing very well and Jimmy will be out here later in the program.

31:20

They give you a complete report And

31:23

David today's program, as you hear the fan ready star Kate, just around the corner and we're ready.

31:30

Also, we got some outstanding news for you today.

31:33

Some of the biggest news in professional wrestling.

31:35

That's right. Tony. No, because you're going to have that special star Cade update and fans.

31:40

When we talk about star arcade being the greatest, it will be, you got to listen to the news.

31:45

Cause Tony, It

31:47

is really exciting star Kate and right around the corner gear up today because we have some of the, the biggest news in the history of professional wrestling.

31:56

Let's bring it to talk with us right now.

31:58

A man who is really making a big name for himself in world championship Racine.

32:03

Thank you very much, Tony David, it's a pleasure to be here.

32:05

And I just want to say that for the last couple of years, I've just been able to watch this star Kate and see what the events are taking place.

32:11

But brother, I'm excited to be a part of it this year by gosh, I'm going to be right in the middle of it.

32:15

I haven't signed any contracts, but brother, you better believe that I've got open contract.

32:18

If it happened to be a tag with my partner, Tim Horner and that's fine and dandy.

32:22

I just, just, like I said, I'm excited to be right in the middle of star.

32:25

Kate. I'm jumping in with both feet and hopefully make some waves here and world championship area.

32:29

Okay. Brad Armstrong. And you can expect good things.

32:32

Or man, if you're ready, we're ready for one of the most exciting hours in wrestling, let's go to the rig.

32:38

So Brad Armstrong is clearly a brother guy.

32:41

He dropped a couple of brothers on us.

32:43

Yeah. But you could tell boy, he was as nervous as a long tail cat in a room full of rocking chair.

32:49

Yeah. He was. I'm really surprised.

32:50

And that's, I mean, you, you heard what we said about only thing David said Magnum is okay.

32:57

Yep. He's doing well. Jimmy would be out here.

32:59

That's it. And I'm really when Brad steps in I'm I'm thinking, is he going to say, you know, we're all, you know, praying for you, Magnum thinking about you and whatever, because in hindsight now Magnum Dereck happens and people in Charlotte and Noah it's before the internet, obviously.

33:19

So not everybody knows it, but I'm thinking there's a lot of people from the Charlotte area is going to tune in here to see how he's doing.

33:25

And, But

33:27

to your point, you would assume that they would open with an update on Magnum to let the national fans know.

33:33

But at the same time, you know, this is probably a weird spot.

33:36

You know, again, I don't mean to be this way, but if, if the wreck had gone the other way and unfortunately we lost Magnum, which thank God we didn't.

33:46

But if that would've been the case, then you certainly would have opened with a tribute and some sort of Memorial type conversation.

33:54

What have you. But at this point to your point, we're only four days later, a lot of folks would say, well, we don't know yet.

34:02

And we don't want to, let's not play this like doom and gloom.

34:05

He still might be okay. And you know, there's a lot of eternal optimists out there and I'm happened to be one of them.

34:10

And at that point they may have just thought, well, let's just, if we're not sure what to do, let's do nothing.

34:16

We'll keep them abreast, but let's not make it into a big deal until we know.

34:20

I think there were a few of us in the office that knew, Hey,

34:22

a special shout out to our sponsor, Geico and geico.com for being with us here this week.

34:28

At least after talking with dusty and after talking with Rick.

34:31

And I think we all really knew, but I guess it was good not to you're right.

34:37

I guess it was, even though we kind of knew it was good not to say anything.

34:41

Okay. Also too, you might've fell out of respect for your, your friend, the real life Terry Allen.

34:46

Right? If somebody is going to say he'll never wrestle again, that should be his statement to make not.

34:53

Yeah, right? Yeah. You're right. You're right.

34:55

On all accounts, there's a Russian leg sweep as Brad Armstrong knew how to do buddy And

35:01

just rolls over right into a pen, Teddy lawn counts it.

35:04

And that's all she wrote. So Tim Horner and Brad Armstrong pick up a win in the opening match here.

35:09

Pretty good looking white meat, baby face tag team.

35:13

I absolutely loved him. And a reminder 15 minutes could save you 50% or more on car insurance with Geico.

35:19

Here we go.

35:20

One match already signed for Kennedy sex hair versus hair.

35:24

Let's bring in the boogeyman. Jimmy vine.

35:26

You've got Paul Jones in the ring, but this time you put up the hair, a big mama, bro.

35:32

I'm so excited.

35:33

Let's say on next time, I'm there I'm to talk to him.

35:37

I pick on my brother and sisters, we got up, we got up and Paul Jones will be a bone at a gig.

35:43

I guess Paul, Joseph.

35:55

crazy.

35:57

You

35:57

know

35:57

what

35:57

I

36:00

mean? Yeah. You know stuff that Mr.

36:03

Paul Jones, every woman's hair is their crown, that glory and big mother, your book, your man loves ya, mother life.

36:12

I love you. I've died for you.

36:15

I'm killed for everything, baby.

36:17

It's me and you. And you know that for Shaw and now AF ball Jones.

36:23

If you beat me every hair on mama's head will be shaved at, at five pigs.

36:30

You, you will be. I bought headache gig at St.

36:37

Paul Jones. First Paul Jones, The

36:40

boogie man. We'll get you.

36:41

We're coming right back.

36:45

Read the shirt, but say Paul Jones.

36:47

First. What? A great little interactive bit.

36:49

That was so fun.

36:53

Yeah. His a big momma was her name was Felicia and she was, she was something else.

37:01

They had a daughter.

37:01

I'm not so sure if it was her daughter by another marriage, a stepdaughter or what?

37:07

But I met her one time and she was like, I don't know, a little bit younger than me maybe.

37:13

And boy was she spectacular?

37:16

And you know what else is spectacular switching over your car insurance to Geico.

37:19

And it doesn't have to be scary.

37:21

There you go. How about Jimmy Garvin?

37:23

Strutton man.

37:28

Yeah. Jimmy, Is that the way you walked around the house after you got your new tattoo?

37:34

Yeah. I sit in the corner of the kitchen and bopped up and down.

37:36

Just like This. No, I meant like the Stripe before.

37:39

Oh yeah. Strutting into the kitchen for, you know, Dinner.

37:42

Did you feel like a bad ass when you got the tattoo?

37:44

I mean, do you think your now bad ass?

37:47

Like Yeah.

37:49

I felt like a bad-ass. Yeah.

37:51

Dan and Dan, Dan, Dan, Dan, Dan.

37:55

And then I got a tattoo.

37:57

Dan, Dan, and then done don't screw around with me.

38:00

Dan, Dan and Dan. Dan.

38:02

I'm bad to the bone.

38:04

Dan, Dan and Dan, Dan, get your bug dead to Dan dead.

38:08

End, end bugs gimmicks.

38:10

And then, then things like that.

38:13

Brain Buster it's overall, ready To

38:18

Shoot the wrestling much 60

38:21

minutes show. And you can tell.

38:22

Yeah, Like I like Teddy long's hair, man.

38:25

He had long Had that.

38:27

He was Hanging on hanging on hand in long locks in the back.

38:31

You referred to RNA. Anderson wants is having a flesh colored yamaka.

38:34

I don't know what a, what we would say about Teddy's boy from that angle.

38:39

That was not the angle to show him that replay because Jimmy took care of him.

38:42

Boy. Yeah. I can listen.

38:44

Jim Crockett promotions and update on the condition of Magnum On

38:47

behalf of Magnum TA and his family.

38:49

I want to thank all the wrestling fans for all the many cards and letters.

38:53

Again, please don't call the hospital.

38:55

He's doing very well, but if you'd like to send Magnum a card or a letter, this a address you're going to put up on the screen for you.

39:02

He, the cards and letters are really cheering him up.

39:04

If anybody can get back from this, a terrible injury Magnum, Ken, it's going to be a long haul for him and our prayers are with him.

39:13

What's your address to write, to Magnum to you fans.

39:15

When we come back, we'll go to the star cake control center.

39:18

Don't go away.

39:20

And we still didn't really explain what happened. If you're a wrestling fan watching in California, you're like, well, I don't know what happened, but he's in the hospital and it don't sound good.

39:27

Right Outside

39:29

of the control center, buddy, let's Do

39:31

it.

39:41

Music just doesn't resonate with Hi

39:57

everybody. I'm Tony Shavani coming to you for the star kid controls that are all the momentum.

40:00

All the excitement is building towards star KD six.

40:04

Let's talk about why did you picture your face in your hands?

40:06

Cause I'm a Younger

40:10

please. Yum cornet and the midnight express, seriously injured animal the road warriors and cornet claimed that animal was at a professional wrestling for good.

40:19

Well, as you expect, the road, warriors are not out of wrestling.

40:22

Let's take a look at the comeback of the road warriors So

40:33

we're seeing some workout footage here.

40:34

What do you think this would have been shot in Charlotte?

40:37

I'm sure, right? Yeah,

40:39

it was, there was a gym.

40:42

They worked, there was a Gold's gym. I think they all worked out in Charlotte, right down the road that we all, I worked out there.

40:51

Some too, believe it or not.

40:53

And it's unbelievable to think about just how massive these fellows were.

40:57

Oh my God.

41:01

And this is, you know, this shit there. I mean, this is, there's nothing gimmicky about these weights.

41:05

Obviously What we're watching right now.

41:07

Oh, let's listen. It hasn't been sitting back on their laurels.

41:11

No, sir. We're ready for you Jim.

41:14

Cornell, Thanksgiving day, cornet midnight express.

41:18

We get a big surprise.

41:19

You ain't ever gonna forget right brother.

41:22

Hey, surprise is good for us and bad for you.

41:29

Well, Jim cornet has signed the contract for star Cade to face the road warriors.

41:32

And what a surprise a road warriors have in store for the midnight express.

41:36

Let's take a look right now.

41:40

You've single-handedly destroyed the Legion of doom you've done well.

41:44

Nobody else has ever done before and professional wrestling.

41:47

Well, I got news for Jimmy Coronet.

41:49

Now with guys that get up every morning and work for a living, they worked for everything they've got and when they get in there, they give it all that they got.

41:58

And that's just what we're going to do.

42:00

Come Thanksgiving day, Ryan Hawk.

42:02

Hey, these construction workers are pie in the scaffolds working for everything.

42:08

They got just like the lawyers.

42:10

They got well, them construction workers high up on a scaffold, but taking a chance at life and losing life every day by far the closest ones to the sky.

42:25

That's

42:27

right. That's what I would call his match match match.

42:33

Or this guy walking around a month because we were walking out and now he had gone down.

42:51

Let's go gamma, What

42:58

a famous vignette. This is what a hell of a show.

43:00

This is in hindsight.

43:01

As we see the road warriors climbing the scaffold here.

43:06

And of course they're going to have this big pumpkin sane.

43:10

Let's track it. Okay. This is what you got to look forward to.

43:13

None of the Skywalkers. Hey, we've got our brothers up here teaching us how to land on his cars and how to keep up one thing.

43:22

You too lazy, more having more than a do yet.

43:25

Hey brother, what happens when you fall off one of these scaffolds show you what happens?

43:29

You poop out there.

43:31

You take a look at midnight express that says go Dennis, to show you what happens when you fall up.

43:45

And now we're seeing, we got One more that says Bobby got through whatever hits the ground, Slow

44:02

motion of Bobby's pumpkin, which actually that's about the same size and orange head in reality, Dude,

44:10

the slow motion of the pumpkin falling is ridiculous, but the slow motion of the pumps to concrete kind of a fun visual.

44:21

Yeah,

44:23

I know. We assume that Jackie went out and shot this with him.

44:26

Yeah. I I'm thinking that Jackie Wayne, Daniel, but in hindsight, you know, they were at a place called the gym and I'm not so sure if this I'm not so sure where this was.

44:37

I thought it was the gym close to where we work and ocean, but a place called the gym.

44:42

So that could have been in Minneapolis And

44:45

we've got a film and there you have a two teams in the air, all those scaffold, 20 feet in the air for the first time.

44:49

This year, it star Cate 86.

44:51

The Skywalkers were with Jim Crockett, president of Jim Crockett promotions.

44:55

The excitement is building. What else do you?

44:57

Yeah, of course, Jimmy, we have an update on the Jimmy valley.

44:59

Paul Jones match Manny Fernandez.

45:01

The raging bull will be at ringside, but he's going to be in a cage, 30 feet above the ring.

45:07

Some people call this cage, Betty Lou also James J Dylan has presented a contract for a world television title match tele Blanchard against dusty Rhodes NWA cannot and will not sanction this match because it's a first blood match.

45:20

But because of what's gone on between tele, Blanchard and dusty roads, I will present this contract to dusty for him to make that decision.

45:29

Okay. The excitement continues for star KDT six.

45:31

We'll see you next week right here at the control center.

45:34

Where

45:34

did

45:34

you

45:34

shoot

45:37

those? We shot it.

45:39

They had a rack in the backstage, in the back area with over the office monitors.

45:43

Yeah, the office.

45:48

And the only way someone can win is by knocking off of the scalpel.

45:57

You're off. There is going to look like a hundred feet Jim

46:00

Cornetta and say, we have the highest fliers in wrestling, his chance to prove it's going to come up during star Caden.

46:06

They throw them off that thing. They will be flying.

46:08

Hope they have wings. Yeah.

46:10

I'm sure David, but let's talk about a dusty Rhodes tele blanket.

46:14

And the situation has developed between those two men has been building for years and years and years.

46:19

That's right. The F really you have to include it's the full horse mats.

46:22

Right? All right. Dusty rose every year, dusty Rosebud, a part of Stargate.

46:25

Every system. Again, there was a match last week in which dusty rose.

46:31

They said, if he lost it, he could not go into star.

46:34

K. It was a part of the contract. That's right. All right. Tele blanch it in the four horsemen.

46:37

They wanted dusty out.

46:39

They any way they could. All right.

46:41

They want some extra insurance going in that match.

46:43

And he knew exactly what they did to Dusty's arm.

46:46

Let's take a look at what they did to the hand of dusty Rhodes.

46:52

Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's him.

46:53

Hey,

46:53

go

46:56

on. We went up to south Boulevard here.

46:58

Lynelle,

46:58

Tory

46:58

warehouse

47:02

Only in art, right on his tail. Anybody getting That

47:06

Ollie's or is that orange Cadillac?

47:08

That's that's either. Yeah. I think it's all these cats on, In

47:11

that parking lot for sure. No turning around and never get out.

47:14

Come on, turn, turn, turn.

47:16

DA's got it. Yeah. He started. We've got him.

47:19

We got it right where we want him.

47:21

That's it. Take it easy.

47:22

Take it easy. Not too close. Not too close.

47:24

Come on, come on in the parking lot.

47:26

Come on now.

47:30

Yeah. Right back there to Crockett's office is my white car on the right here.

47:34

I can't wait to see it again.

47:36

There it is. Right in front of the trucks truck.

47:39

Don't

47:39

you

47:41

worry? Just keep that camera running.

49:21

Okay. You heard JJ said, we'll see you tomorrow night in Charlotte.

49:24

Now the contract should have dusty or his partner lost the match.

49:28

Then dusty could not be a part of Sharky, but dusty said I will be prepared that night and he would Have

49:35

a partner. There we go. That sets The

49:37

stage was dusty prepared.

49:39

Let's see it right. He was, but I don't think any of us were prepared for this.

49:43

Let's take a look at it.

49:58

This is what the fans really weren't. Sure. I mean, they were going crazy obviously, but they really weren't.

50:02

Sure. And the way they played it up was the Kita was not sure until you see how it gets in the ring.

50:34

How

50:34

about

50:34

that

51:13

buddy?

51:16

Goosebump moment. What we just saw here.

51:18

Yeah. And the fans are going wild as dusty and Magnum are no longer.

51:25

And now it's dusty and the Kita.

51:29

Yeah. Magnum's biggest foe.

51:31

His biggest enemy.

51:32

And there's Rick flair.

51:34

Let's take a listen.

52:44

All right. Tony dusty was prepared.

52:45

Well, you're not getting a special partner.

52:47

And what a special partner in was, and who would have fought that would have happened.

52:51

But the two super powers together, David Starr, K the momentum is building with the Skywalkers, the scaffold with the road warriors and Jim coronets, midnight express the hair versus hair, the hair, a big mama going up against the hair of Paul Jones.

53:06

And now the momentum is building because the two superpowers together.

53:11

And we'll talk to those two men right after this time.

53:15

What's interesting. Tony is you filmed this on the morning of the 19th and the show we just saw happened that evening.

53:21

So you were getting ahead of it.

53:23

Of course you never Magnum T I mean, Nikita Cola offer out there.

53:27

You said super power. So you didn't spill it.

53:29

Let's listen to, Hey buddy.

53:30

Two very important issues at hand right now, dusty Rhodes.

53:35

The American dream one is my closest friend in life was Magnum TA in the accident that he suffered.

53:41

The last two weeks have been very difficult for dusty roads.

53:45

The American dream, because made MTA and dusty roads made their own rules.

53:49

We

53:49

love

53:49

fast

53:49

cars

53:49

and

53:49

fast

53:49

times,

53:49

and

53:49

that's

53:49

the

53:49

way

53:49

we

53:49

lived

53:49

on

53:49

the

53:49

end

53:49

of

53:49

that

53:49

lightning

53:49

bolt

53:49

that

53:49

crashes

53:49

through

53:49

this

53:49

vast

53:49

earth

53:49

of

53:49

eyes,

53:49

that's

53:49

the

53:49

way

53:49

we're

53:49

going

53:49

to

53:49

continue

53:49

to

54:03

live.

54:03

And

54:03

after

54:03

the

54:03

Hampton

54:03

Nikita

54:03

off,

54:03

call

54:03

me

54:03

on

54:03

the

54:08

phone. And we talked for hours and we met and talked for more hours.

54:12

I don't believe everything that Nikita Koloff believes in.

54:16

And he doesn't believe everything that I do.

54:18

But living in this country gives you that right, to be free, to have freedom of speech, to have freedom of choice, to have freedom to do and be what you want to be.

54:29

And

54:29

me

54:29

never

54:29

being

54:29

one

54:29

to

54:29

go

54:29

by

54:29

the

54:29

rules

54:29

of

54:29

the

54:34

book. I have a lot of bad feelings about a lot of bad things and some stuff undone, the four horsemen.

54:43

And what do you like my choice or not as not really important to dusty roads, the American dream, the respect you have maybe of this country have eyes broad.

54:57

As they're saying these two superpowers together, and didn't always agree on everything, but at least had a common bond or what you wanted out of life, then it'd be better.

55:08

And I have a new partner and that's the key to coal offs and Nikita coal off.

55:17

I know one thing about is the greatest Russian athlete in the world.

55:25

Nikki It's

55:27

placebo does it. You know, I am drawn the Russian and I am superior athlete.

55:34

And I go through Japan and they feed the many, many are born then, or last week I come back to America and I hear about Magnum Thea.

55:44

And I call you Dustin, I call you because many times I made the Magnum theory and the ringer.

55:51

And many times we had a hard to fight and I learned through Reese back him.

55:57

Well now Nakita has caused many times Magothy ASA or him.

56:03

He has no role as many time Nikita said for me, there is no law gremlin, uncle Ivan, nobody tell Nikita what to do.

56:14

And now you'll have to remember.

56:16

I Nikita called off and gray does Russian athlete, the other walk.

56:24

These are, So

56:28

there we go. Yeah, it was just heard from a dusty saying I don't have to explain my actions to anybody on the famous set that also in the back of the warehouse Yakima office, I want to mention a lot of times, you know, dusty would come on here and say fantastic things and say, you know, I was in the Himalayas last week.

56:47

Right. But legitimately based on my research, it looks like the day of the accident Nikita Koloff actually was in Japan being crusher.

56:55

Cruise chef had been wrestling over there.

56:56

I don't know for a week or so maybe 10 days, but they actually were there in Japan when, when the accident happened.

57:06

Wow. I think we did it looking back at it and looking at that interview.

57:11

I think we did The best we could do don't you?

57:13

Oh no, I totally agree. And listen, it was a, it was a, a goosebump moment to see them come out together and then the pause.

57:20

And then when he got involved physically, it was nicely done.

57:25

And I know you last week you were really taking issue with, I don't think they were going to do Magnum and flair, but the way they just set that up where you know, oh, you're with dusty, then, then, then I want you, right.

57:38

I mean, I feel like, I don't know.

57:41

I could believe that the Magnum was going to be the guy at 86, but if he wasn't an 86, certainly 87 showing the address again here, let's sell it.

57:49

Let's track him.

57:51

You get well-wishers to Magnum CA Charlotte Memorial hospital PO box 3, 2 8 61, Charlotte, two eight, two, three, two.

57:58

Please do not call the hospital, but please send your cards, letters to that address.

58:02

Thank you very much.

58:05

Okay. We're back with you on world championship wrestling, the momentum.

58:11

Hi flier. I'm way up in the air.

58:14

I didn't mean all the things I was saying.

58:16

I find that high. Let me do the, you did the interview.

58:18

You know what kind of thing you're talking about a scaffold match.

58:21

That's the most dangerous can't imagine there could ever be absolutely have a wrestling match on a scaffold, a few feet, 20 feet near up over the ring, which is even more of a drop to the floor you got.

58:32

Now, nowhere Paula, we're going to roll more.

58:34

They been in a rubber room over to puzzle factory with them.

58:38

Custom-made jackets with the long sleeves, because the anger, the frustration, the humiliation in a plane of what they suffered at our hands has run them crazy.

58:46

And they have gone totally off the beam.

58:48

And now they've dreamed this thing up because only at an St and arrest the person, whatever.

58:52

But I want to be a part of something like this because of exactly how dangerous it is.

58:57

Don't eat your body at Paul Howard.

58:58

I don't know whether or not to, to care about what happens to make it into yours.

59:02

But I care about my boys.

59:04

They're close friends of mine as well as being managed by me.

59:06

And I'm scared. They scared, but I'm scared for them.

59:10

And you never dragged me up on top of that thing, but you know what they're doing, Tony.

59:13

They're trying to put them back with over on us.

59:15

We're too tough. We're too bad. If we can't be managed, then we can't be stopped.

59:18

So they're trying to put the bay one over on us at Jim Crockett, Henny, NWA, and everybody has to try to let them get away with a mess like this.

59:26

It can only be the into your career.

59:27

It can be the end, everything, but I'm going to tell you some road wards to Paula, or you got to watch out for us because if we even lay eyes on you before Thanksgiving night, by the time that's dark eight rolls around you, ain't going to be able to climb up on nothing, any taller than a hospital bed.

59:42

I promise you that because something's gotta to be done about this thing.

59:44

We're getting up on those scaffolds, Jim

59:47

Karn at fed We're coming right back.

59:58

Man. Hi Ladies and gentlemen.

1:00:01

It's a good time, man. It's bad time, but it's good time because we had a lot of stuff going on.

1:00:08

Cornet Was on fire. Yeah,

1:00:10

he was man. He really was.

1:00:12

It was a great time of year for him. And you know, that October is Geico's favorite time of year and they've been working even harder to cast out high rates on car insurance.

1:00:20

That's a geico.com omrade

1:00:22

did was the, the check at star Cade 86 was that the most that cornet was paid by the Crocketts, you know, I'm not sure.

1:00:30

Let me check. That's a great question though.

1:00:32

Yeah, it may have, it may have been.

1:00:35

And then I've told the story that I asked Dennis Condrey I said, and this, I think this was like, when we were standing over there standing getting ready to do an interview on TBS.

1:00:44

I said, I hope you guys are getting paid a lot of money for this.

1:00:47

And Condrey said that we better or there won't be another one.

1:00:52

Yeah. And there wasn't another one.

1:00:54

There wasn't another one.

1:00:55

So, but the spike and he, you know how I mentioned, don't call the hospital.

1:01:03

Yep. The hospital was overrun with calls and that was one of the big stories in, in Charlotte.

1:01:10

Like this professional wrestler is hurt and Charlotte Memorial hospital has never seen the outpouring of affection and the people coming to the hospital and coming, going to the lobby and sitting outside and having vigils for him and calling don't call us, please.

1:01:29

Oh man, here we go.

1:01:31

John Paul, John.

1:01:34

Okay. If you want bigger stars, if you want rougher, man, you've got to pay the price.

1:01:40

Now big money.

1:01:44

Flares is what I have right here.

1:01:46

Let me show you something.

1:01:47

You

1:01:47

can't

1:01:47

keep

1:01:47

up

1:01:47

with

1:01:47

what

1:01:47

I

1:01:52

want. I demand a lot. If you gave up, stay out of my hair, I don't ever want to see your face again.

1:02:01

And then, you know, I'm looking at their rock and roll express and I'm looking at those two belts around these two giants and you know, some low back Daniels.

1:02:10

You're a big job, man.

1:02:12

You have a big reputation, but if you want to be, oh my God, that it's a savior raging bull.

1:02:22

Because remember you're going to have to look at the rays.

1:02:25

Your bone is going to be from across the ring and Jimmy Valiant, that matches ties your, I got up a mind, big.

1:02:33

Mama's going to be a ball at a gate.

1:02:35

And the morning when you get up, Hey, you're eating your post dosage.

1:02:39

And you look across at think Baba.

1:02:41

And she's looking at you and you look at her.

1:02:43

She's up. you ever seen in your life?

1:02:48

Heal something. Daddy, you know what?

1:02:51

Houma? Daniel's the toughest man in professional wrestling.

1:02:54

My man come down here just wanting to cry.

1:02:58

I never thought I'd see the day while I didn't come out here and quiet about something.

1:03:03

What? That you open up the road.

1:03:06

And now that I got the rabbit one and you just saw an example of the awesome do some baby.

1:03:11

We got a lot more to this shop Indian.

1:03:13

So if you want to stick your nose in my business, don't mess with a hoard baby.

1:03:17

Cause if he don't do it, I sure will take care of you.

1:03:20

And then you pack it to your DP, baby.

1:03:23

That's right. Squad.

1:03:25

Can't take nothing away from you.

1:03:28

You lasted nine years in the NFL.

1:03:31

You're one tough dude.

1:03:32

Just remember two or three raging bull in rather she Rick rude.

1:03:38

You didn't last nine seconds.

1:03:40

We embarrassed you in front of your whole tribe.

1:03:43

Red man, better red man than a dead man.

1:03:48

You

1:03:48

get

1:03:48

all

1:03:48

that

1:03:48

help

1:03:52

you. Why you ran down the road, you're ready.

1:03:54

Ronnie Garvin. Let's see your next week.

1:03:56

Fan championship wrestling.

1:04:00

Whoa. I didn't know all that was in there.

1:04:03

I didn't either. I, but that's that's the world.

1:04:06

As we knew it back in 86 and, and our apologies if we offended anybody.

1:04:11

My Goodness. Yes.

1:04:14

Gone. Right. I got a question. How do you banish high rates on car insurance?

1:04:17

You switched to Geico during Geico Weem.

1:04:22

Aw.

1:04:22

I

1:04:22

love

1:04:22

making

1:04:22

that

1:04:22

sound

1:04:22

by

1:04:22

the

1:04:25

way. Let me do it again. Whoa, whoa.

1:04:29

October is Geico's favorite time of the year and Geico has been working even harder to cast out high rates on car insurance and craft just the right coverage for you and your family.

1:04:39

But here's the thing you may not know about Geico.

1:04:41

They can also help you uncover more savings when you bundle the other things parked in your driveway, like your beloved motorcycle boat, or even that home away from home.

1:04:49

Your RV Geico could even help you save on homeowners and renters insurance.

1:04:55

So visit geico.com today, and you'll see firsthand that switching your insurance coverage doesn't have to be scary.

1:05:01

The only thing that will hunter nightmares is seeing just how much you could have saved.

1:05:05

If you had switched sooner, Geico 15 minutes could save you 15% or more on car insurance, happy Geico ween.

1:05:14

Well, you asked a minute ago about the, the payoff it's here in Cornell book.

1:05:19

Yeah. That he got his biggest payoff.

1:05:20

Maybe not as big as payoff, but that was $10,045 for, I guess what's going to be known as the most watched midnight express match of all time.

1:05:32

And unfortunately it's probably also the worst one big on theatrical, but man, you want to talk about arguably the greatest tag team of all time, just their masses that they put together were unbelievable, but you kind of lose some of that.

1:05:50

When you put them on a platform 25, 30 feet above the ring, they can't really do that same stuff.

1:05:57

Yeah. It's amazing. When you think about, if you flash forward to like, let's say 20 10, 20 11, 20 12, what the payoffs were back then?

1:06:08

Yeah. Millions, right?

1:06:10

Yeah. And $10,000, which in the grand scheme of things, they, $10,000 pay off for a night to me was pretty good.

1:06:18

I don't know if court had said Andy's book, if he was disappointed in that or not the fact that he blew out his knee, probably he was disappointed.

1:06:26

Well, we'll talk about that match. I'm sure. More next month.

1:06:30

Are we going to S are we going to watch the Arcade? Absolutely we are.

1:06:33

Yeah. And if you're thinking what I'm thinking and I'm thinking what you're thinking, I'm thinking, am I need a special guest or two or three?

1:06:41

Yeah, that'd be great. That's a good Coronet.

1:06:46

I mean, you know, for sure our old pal David Crockett is down clown anytime.

1:06:51

Absolutely. He B he's had a phenomenal time and what a great asset he's been us here on the show and there's a lot of performers who were, who were on that card, who were still alive and kicking and probably down to have a little fun with us.

1:07:05

So stay tuned for that.

1:07:07

You know, it's become a Thanksgiving tradition around here of sorts for us to watch an old star arcade.

1:07:14

And it feels like this year we should definitely watch 1986.

1:07:19

Yeah. Because obviously that's our biggest show of w of this year.

1:07:24

Sure.

1:07:24

A

1:07:24

lot

1:07:24

of

1:07:24

great

1:07:24

things

1:07:24

in

1:07:24

this

1:07:24

show,

1:07:24

a

1:07:24

lot

1:07:24

of

1:07:24

obviously

1:07:24

disappointing

1:07:24

discouraging

1:07:24

things

1:07:24

and

1:07:24

upsetting

1:07:24

things,

1:07:24

but

1:07:24

overall

1:07:24

hell

1:07:24

of

1:07:24

a

1:07:24

show,

1:07:24

man,

1:07:24

really

1:07:24

hell

1:07:24

of

1:07:24

a

1:07:37

show. And again, apologies for the war cry and calling wahoo squad who and Oh

1:07:45

yeah. We didn't know that was in there.

1:07:46

I'll be honest.

1:07:48

I haven't seen that whole show. I've seen clips, right?

1:07:51

Yeah. But I've never seen that whole show put together.

1:07:53

And I know I just saw was just over 30 minutes, but I think you could argue that might be one of the best 30 minute shows in the history of wrestling.

1:08:02

It's so, so important historically.

1:08:07

Right? That makes sense. I think that that scene with dusty outside of Jim Crockett promotions, tying him up to the truck is probably the most memorable of all the four horsemen angles.

1:08:19

Don't you think It's up there?

1:08:21

And there, there was a lot of controversy at the time, you know, people were starting to get quote unquote smart to the business.

1:08:29

Right. And a lot of people felt like it was a goof.

1:08:32

It was an edit when dusty yelled make it good, Make

1:08:38

it good. Right. But in reality, it was a reference to like an old Western, right.

1:08:46

And from what I understand, the movie was one odd Jack Marlon Brando was in that movie and his character Rio had been betrayed by his partner and fellow out law, dad, Longworth, who was played by Karl Malden and following a bank robbery.

1:09:07

The two had committed together.

1:09:10

Years later, I should mention Longworth became the sheriff.

1:09:14

And when Rio returns to town to confront him, Rio is captured, tied to a hitching post and whipped.

1:09:20

But the worst blow of all is yet to come, barely able to speak.

1:09:25

Rio says you better kill me.

1:09:27

His meaning was after all you've done to me, you've betrayed me.

1:09:31

You've whipped me. You might as well kill me because if you don't, I'll be back to kill you.

1:09:36

And that breakdown is brought to us by the mid Atlantic gateway.com, old friend of the show, Mr.

1:09:43

Dick born, he loves that moment and always took great issue when fans would say, cause they knew he was sort of running things.

1:09:50

He was the Booker. They assumed it was making it look good.

1:09:53

Like no, no. Yeah.

1:09:54

Make it good.

1:09:56

Like you, you better not miss.

1:09:58

Or as Omar would say, when you come for the king, you best not miss.

1:10:04

Well, here's all you need to know about that.

1:10:06

And two things, dusty loved westerns, old westerns and number two, dusty shouted.

1:10:13

Make it good.

1:10:15

Yes. If he, he would he shouted make it good.

1:10:18

He didn't say make it good. Yeah.

1:10:20

He shattered it out.

1:10:22

He shattered it out because he wanted to, to air that way.

1:10:25

He didn't just say, make it look good.

1:10:26

He shadowed it. So it could be heard by the camera.

1:10:31

Hey and speaking of shout, a shout out to our sponsor, Geico and geico.com.

1:10:36

What a moment, huh? Attacking dusty roads in the parking lot at JCP.

1:10:40

Really a great moment. I think if I was going to, first of all, there are two things that as great as it is, I can be critical of sure.

1:10:51

I wish in a perfect world.

1:10:53

I guess there's three things I wish in a perfect world.

1:10:55

It was a thicker rope.

1:10:58

Right? I wish that dusty wasn't holding the ladder instead of he should have been trying to fight to get away.

1:11:04

Let me hold it still for you.

1:11:07

Right. And when J J is trying to choke him with the bat, but of course he's not really trying to choke him.

1:11:16

It's his friend, but he's trying to choke him and dusty just goes, No, don't get me wrong.

1:11:24

I watch enough of the shit that I, that I I'm just overly critical.

1:11:29

And I get that because if you didn't, you know, and I don't really know dusty.

1:11:33

I met dusty like five times in my life, but the point is I can have fun with that.

1:11:39

And I understand at the time everyone took it very, very seriously, but I just think about him being like, okay, I needed to look good and I could pull this little bullshit string off.

1:11:49

So I won't do that and ruin it.

1:11:52

I'll just hold it.

1:11:53

And then, oh, JJ is not giving me much with this.

1:11:58

I got to really seal it.

1:11:59

The

1:11:59

angle

1:11:59

itself

1:12:05

phenomenal. So good. By the way that 10 years later it will be ripped off in WCW with the Steiners and the NWI.

1:12:12

And it got such a reaction.

1:12:14

They were only able to show it on TV once.

1:12:16

So what's that old saying, there are no new ideas in wrestling, but man, that was a good one.

1:12:23

That was really great stuff.

1:12:25

And it was really fun just to see the old Crockett office and all the cars there.

1:12:30

And you could tell that Mr.

1:12:33

Crockett didn't really care about parking lot maintenance.

1:12:35

No,

1:12:35

it

1:12:35

was

1:12:35

fun

1:12:35

to

1:12:35

see

1:12:39

man. Yeah, that building, as, as we know, it was gone.

1:12:42

The building in front of it's gone, Lynelle toy warehouse has gone.

1:12:47

South Boulevard looks a lot different.

1:12:49

1986, man.

1:12:52

I M I have a lot of memories and a lot of the memories that I have do not really connect.

1:13:00

I didn't realize in my memory bank that our announcement of Magnum being hurt and that angle with dusty we're on the same show that didn't click with me to all of was an old boy where this is all in the same show, man.

1:13:17

And obviously Rick flair and we showed the Nikita footage from Charlotte and flair, obviously set up the match for he and the key there for the world title at star Kate.

1:13:28

So good stuff, buddy.

1:13:35

So much happened in this show. It's hard to even, I don't know.

1:13:39

It's, it's hard to really contextualize what a big show we just watched and how much changed just like that.

1:13:48

Yeah. SLIFE

1:13:50

man. It is changes just like that in January, 2017.

1:13:54

For me just like that.

1:13:56

And then signing with AWS, just like that.

1:13:59

I, I talk about that all the time.

1:14:01

How you just can't Enlive you can't say, well, that's the way it's going to be.

1:14:06

Yeah, because it's not, it's Not

1:14:08

the way it's going to, it will be if you decide it is, but if you keep after it, Right,

1:14:14

Right. It doesn't have to be.

1:14:15

No, it doesn't have to be. It's a matter of fact for you, your young couples out there, or you people out there that are thinking that I can't get into a brand new home, you're probably wrong.

1:14:29

That's exactly right. They'll take my word for it. Tony, do me a favor.

1:14:32

I'm going to put you on the spot. You got your computer there.

1:14:34

Go over to Conrad reviews.com.

1:14:35

Just type that into your machine there.

1:14:37

Conrad reviews.com.

1:14:38

All right.

1:14:39

Tell me what you see there.

1:14:42

Just pick one, anyone.

1:14:44

Okay. Here's a five-star review from Andrew of Waupaca, Wisconsin.

1:14:50

Andrew

1:14:50

says

1:14:50

the

1:14:50

best

1:14:50

part

1:14:50

of

1:14:50

working

1:14:50

with

1:14:50

first

1:14:50

family

1:14:50

was

1:14:50

the

1:14:50

communication

1:14:50

that

1:14:50

started

1:14:50

with

1:14:50

the

1:14:50

very

1:14:50

first

1:14:50

phone

1:14:50

call

1:14:50

from

1:14:50

the

1:14:59

start. Steven gave me advice on getting my credit score up.

1:15:02

Then Jimmy took it from there and was only a text message away from any question that I had.

1:15:07

The bottom line is you can't beat friendly customer service and excellent communication.

1:15:10

I can't thank everyone at first family enough, our dream home is finally a reality, a five-star service at its best.

1:15:20

How about that? So if you're a renter or maybe you're in a house, but she'd like a bigger house, she'd like a newer house.

1:15:25

You'd like a nicer house. We can make it happen for [email protected].

1:15:28

And

1:15:28

of

1:15:28

course,

1:15:28

right

1:15:28

now,

1:15:28

if

1:15:28

you

1:15:28

can

1:15:28

hear

1:15:28

my

1:15:28

voice

1:15:28

and

1:15:28

you

1:15:28

are

1:15:28

a

1:15:28

homeowner

1:15:28

and

1:15:28

you

1:15:28

haven't

1:15:28

yet

1:15:28

went

1:15:28

to

1:15:28

save

1:15:28

with

1:15:28

conrad.com,

1:15:28

what

1:15:28

are

1:15:28

you

1:15:28

waiting

1:15:36

on? Not only can you enjoy and appreciate record low interest rates, but all of a sudden your house is worth more than ever.

1:15:44

The real estate market has just gone bananas in the last 18 months.

1:15:47

In fact, my mother-in-law bought a house at the beginning of last year, it's already worth $170,000 more in just a year and a half.

1:15:56

There's no telling how much new found equity you have.

1:15:59

Now you can use that to do one or two things.

1:16:01

Take that equity out and put it down on your next house and go ahead and sell the house.

1:16:05

Or maybe you love your house and you're happy with it.

1:16:07

What if you could improve your financial situation, knock out all your credit card debt, get rid of some car loans, pay off some stuff.

1:16:14

And at the same time, get a great rate in doing it.

1:16:16

We're routinely helping our listeners restructure their debt and go from a 30 year loan down to 15 years and get rid of all their credit card debt.

1:16:24

See the interest you pay on your mortgage is tax deductible, but the interest you pay on credit cards is not.

1:16:29

And your interest rate on your credit cards.

1:16:32

We don't even have to talk about that. You know, it's sky-high comparatively.

1:16:34

So if you can get a better rate, get a greater tax deduction and pay your house off faster, all with cheaper monthly payments.

1:16:41

Why wouldn't you do it? It's a no brainer.

1:16:43

Hurry to save with conrad.com and let us just give you a quick quote.

1:16:46

1:16:58

Tony, thanks for the shout out. I mean, we have a lot of fun talking about old school wrestling here, but helping people save money and get out of debt really is what I do on a full-time basis.

1:17:07

And I love my job.

1:17:09

I know you do. And I think the key to all of this is from what I read from Andrew.

1:17:12

And you see that all through all, through all, all the feedback you get customer service.

1:17:20

And that's what it's all about.

1:17:22

I mean, in this day and age, we all say customer service.

1:17:25

Ain't what it used to be. Well, it is with you and save with, I

1:17:31

appreciate you saying that. Yeah, shoot me an email.

1:17:32

Read the reviews for yourself.

1:17:54

Conrad reviews.com.

1:17:56

I think my average rating right now, Tony is like a 4.7.

1:17:59

If I was a wrestler.

1:18:01

And my average match rating in the wrestling observer was 4.7 stars.

1:18:05

Where would that rank me?

1:18:07

Do you think, do you think that among the best wrestlers in the world it'd be top Five.

1:18:13

So there you go, come check it out for yourself.

1:18:24

I'm excited about next week. You know, I don't know where we can go from here.

1:18:27

It's been such a big time episode that we just saw, but next week here on the show, I guess we should mention let's circle back to this.

1:18:34

You mentioned live there at the matinee show on October 19th.

1:18:41

Oh. And dusty had a special partner Disney, but you never said Nikita out of your mouth.

1:18:48

Right? And it's because even back then kayfabe was so real, even though this was way pre-internet you didn't want any of these hundred folks or whoever it was here in the, in the studio to know that dusty and, and, and, and the, to were together, right?

1:19:03

So you just called them the superpowers.

1:19:04

And that was it.

1:19:06

And that was a code name that hadn't really been used before.

1:19:08

So nobody in the studio who was there to watch the tapings had any idea.

1:19:13

But that night is when, what we just saw what happened.

1:19:16

The main event of course, was dusty and Nikita.

1:19:18

He was of course, substituting for Magnum TA against Oli and JJ, JJ was in there for an injured tele Blanchard.

1:19:25

It was a steel cage match.

1:19:27

As we heard, the stipulation was dusty would not be a part of star.

1:19:31

Eight of his team lost the very next day.

1:19:34

You're in Greenville, South Carolina, it's dusty and Nikita on top, taken on Oli and Arne in a steel cage.

1:19:39

And then on the 20th, we've got Fayetteville, North Carolina as a B show, which is Bobby Jaggers and Dutch mantel taken on the midnight express and the main event.

1:19:49

Another TV taping this time for worldwide on the 21st in Greenville, South Carolina, Rick flair is on tour, of course.

1:19:57

And the 23rd Sumpter South Carolina central states has got to show that you guys are, I guess, sort of half-ass promoting on the 23rd and Concordia, Kansas, and another in Warrensburg, Missouri.

1:20:12

But then we do a big show, 10,000 fans in attendance on the 24th Ric flair and dusty roads.

1:20:19

And the main event Kansas city has a Saint has a show that weekend central states again, take an action there at the Memorial hall, Greensboro, the must arcade, not quite the crowd we're hoping for, but again, remember the big show is a month later.

1:20:36

So it's October 25th, 1986, there's only 4,281 fans there.

1:20:42

They're going to have dusty and the key to on top taken on ARN and Ollie in a steel cage match, a matinee show on the 26th with flair and Murdoch and a steel cage.

1:20:50

And then the 26th is another big Omni show.

1:20:53

And it is a big Omni show.

1:20:55

It's flair and Dick Murdoch and the main event just below that it's dusty and Nikita taken on Oli and ARN.

1:21:01

Then we're back on the road.

1:21:04

Merner gym in North Carolina.

1:21:07

Do you remember that building Merner Jim?

1:21:10

I don't remember a murder gym. I don't even know where it was, had to be somewhere in the Carolinas, but I do know that geico.com will help you switch your car insurance because coverage during October, doesn't have to be scary.

1:21:23

So what is this about murder?

1:21:27

But you've got the midnight express they're taken on Bobby Jaggers and touch man tale.

1:21:30

It's in, I'm going to mispronounce this missing Heimer North Carolina.

1:21:33

Does that ring a bell For

1:21:36

some reason, I'm thinking it's Meisenheimer but I should have known, cause I said it probably a hundred times.

1:21:41

Oh, It's just phenomenal to me that in the middle of all were the Omni and they weren't at this gym.

1:21:46

Yeah. I know. October 27th, again, it's dusty and Nikita taken on totally and ARN.

1:21:51

So telly is back here. It's a double bull rope match in Greenville on October 27th, another TV taping on the 28th in rock hill, South Carolina, they're going to have a Japanese television crew there to shoot a dusty Rhodes taming with Ricky and Robert to take on Rick flair, Arne and Oli in a steel cage match.

1:22:08

We're in Boone, North Carolina at the varsity gym on October 29th, the 30th we're in Charleston, West Virginia.

1:22:16

Easy for me to say we're back in Philadelphia, already on November.

1:22:20

First, this time on top, it's a big Bubba, Bobby Eaton and Dennis Condrey taken on Ron Garvin, Bobby Jaggers and Dutch fantail.

1:22:27

And then of course, November 2nd, we're going to shoot another episode of WTB S and it's going to air on November 8th, but we'll pick it up next week when we talk about November 2nd.

1:22:39

But man, what a freaking October, it was here for Jim Crockett promotions.

1:22:44

Yeah. W you know, it's odd to say, Hey, we got the Omni.

1:22:48

And then we got these high school gyms, but the idea was, you know, book every town that you can Get

1:22:54

as many tickets sold as you can.

1:22:56

Exactly. And they would go to these high school gyms.

1:22:59

Now you said the varsity gym and boon that's Appalachian state.

1:23:02

So that's a college gym, but you would have, you would go to these high school gyms and you'd work out something with the athletic department and you would give the athletic department a portion of the funds and those, the athletic department would push the tickets for you.

1:23:19

You know, what's interesting, Tony is, as we're getting ready to cover next week, I don't know if you heard, but there, there doesn't, it doesn't feel like there was an episode between October 25th and November 8th on TBS.

1:23:32

Now, maybe somebody is going to correct us on that.

1:23:34

But as I'm looking through here, it looks like the next time it's taped is going to be for the November 8th episode.

1:23:42

And it's taped on the second.

1:23:43

So when, when you and I record next week, it'll be the November 8th edition.

1:23:49

Wow. We'll be way ahead. We'll be way ahead.

1:23:52

Which means that, you know, we're going to have a chance to stop and take care of business when it comes time for a star 86.

1:23:59

Right? Exactly. So, yeah, we'll jump ahead.

1:24:01

I don't, I don't know why, again, that's just one of those episodes.

1:24:05

They, I guess they just don't have on there, but a couple of things you were kind of going over where Jim Crockett promotions was.

1:24:14

I want to say something about our company that this weekend, as the show drops on Wednesday, this weekend, we're going to be in Orlando for Saturday night dynamite.

1:24:21

And then we're going back to Boston a week from this Wednesday on the 27th.

1:24:26

And that's going to be at Boston university, got a big crowd anticipated there.

1:24:31

And by the way, thanks everybody that came by to see me at the New York comic con a couple of weeks ago.

1:24:35

Appreciate that. And I'm going to be at the Emerald city comic con in Seattle on December 2nd and back in Chicago at on December 10th with butts in seats, the Tony Shavani story.

1:24:50

Pretty big opportunity for everybody to take advantage of this.

1:24:55

And boy, I guess we should just mention in dark raining did not find the humor.

1:25:00

I don't think. And mace asking what was taken Sadam long.

1:25:05

Yeah. He's Not, I don't think he got, I don't think he got the joke.

1:25:08

He's all, you know, he is a horror writer.

1:25:10

And so he does not know how we are.

1:25:13

Yeah. I'm supporting the damn thing. I'm just busting balls a little bit.

1:25:17

I know, I know. And I told him, I said, if you get involved in this business, get ready.

1:25:22

We've

1:25:22

got

1:25:22

some

1:25:22

ball

1:25:22

breakers

1:25:22

here,

1:25:26

buddy. And I, every time he and I do.

1:25:28

And he, he, every time Derek and I do an interview on a podcast, the, the question always is how did this all begin?

1:25:37

And I say, well, Mike Dawkins, the gimmick attorney, Conrad introduced me to is now become my lawyer.

1:25:45

And Mike Dawkins got in touch with me and said, Hey, would you like to do a comic book about your life?

1:25:53

And I went, yes, I would.

1:25:54

And Mike Dokken said to me, well, I've got this guy who was one of the top comic book writers around.

1:26:00

I know him. He's a personal friend.

1:26:02

He's a great, so let me put you in touch with him.

1:26:05

I said, okay.

1:26:06

I said, but that guy was not available.

1:26:08

So we had to settle on Dirk Manning.

1:26:11

So that's how always intro these and Dirk always laughs about it.

1:26:16

So I bust his balls from the word go.

1:26:18

So hopefully he's used to it by now.

1:26:22

Well, listen, we hope you guys check it out. Butts in seats, comic.com.

1:26:24

I'm sure there'll be updates coming eventually.

1:26:26

And I know that thing's going to be everywhere.

1:26:28

It feels like it's number one with a bullet over on Amazon right now, Tony.

1:26:33

Yeah. I'm, I'm very happy. Very proud of that.

1:26:35

Life goes on. You just got to give it your best shot.

1:26:38

And by the way, October is Geico's favorite time of the year.

1:26:43

And they've been working even harder to cast out high rates on car insurance, visit them at Geico, By

1:26:50

the way, I just went to Amazon and I typed in butts in S and then it suggested seeds, Tony Shamani.

1:26:58

Wow. So that tells you where you're at.

1:27:00

It's going to be dropping it or so it says November 30th.

1:27:04

We'll see.

1:27:05

I I got to tell you, this feels a little bit like when Jim cornet sold burger towels, which was '86 tell you this feels a little bit like when Jim '86 sold Burger Towels, which was hilarious. I think we've talked about this before. The idea being that Jim used to be a road warrior. He TA's on the road making towns every single day of his life, so he learned to do things in the car. One of which is E '86. Right. So he'd hit that old Wendy's '86 or whatever it You know, Bruce's routine. I think Bruce said it wrong all these years too. Anyway, the point is, he would drape himself in a '86, and he called it the burger towel. And it '86 fanfare online, Aesol Jim '86 tables, which I thought, boy, that's a genius idea. Yeah. And now all these years later, you we are. '86 week, you reveal a bug tattoo. One week later, we've got bug temporary tattoos available for sale. I gotta tell you, man, I got a mixed emotions about today's tell you, man, I got mixed emotions about TA's show. We're doing a watch along the day you already know. We're a championship wrestling season two episode forty 249, October twenty fifth '86 eighty six. 1986. This is a, the best of times, the worst of This is the best of times, the worst of times. Yes, it is. It's one of the one of the better angles. One of the, I guess, the most memorable one of the most '86 memorable angles that we did with Dustin and the four horsemen. Then, of course, we're going to address. And only the way we could do it, what happened to Magnum? Because now it's it's happened and we've '86 to react to it and we've got to scramble to do something in his place. Last week, We had Magnum talk about Nikita Koloff. And I was wondering if it was gonna be Magnum and Nikita again at Starrcade eighty six, which is gonna feature the the Road Warriors in the in the midnight express in that famous scaffold match. '86 then again, we also talked about the the feeling was that Magna Moleskoye's '86 TA's shot. A shot that he never got. Nikita Koloff got the shot because Magnum had his wreck on the fourteenth of October. This airs on October what? Twenty fifth, I believe, the show that we're going to show. Mhmm. So it actually was taped when do you have that information when it was taped Yeah. I do. Let me it was done on October 19th. So six days ahead of the '86, so six days ahead of the airtime. Yeah. And five days after his And five days after his wreck. Yes. And, of course, even five days after his wreck, we were really unsure if he would pull through or not. Right. '86 we didn't come across that way on TV TA's the old wrestling way to do things back then was not to really talk about it. Just try to make a positive spin on it. And of course, you know, you you you don't even really even when someone is in critical condition, like for instance, when Brodie Lee was in critical condition, we didn't we didn't talk about it. We didn't talk about him at all. Right. Because you don't want you don't wanna but anyway, so it was it was a tough time for us. But I think we pulled through, okay, I think we had a good '86 case. And had some very good matches. It was it was quite a moment. I don't are we gonna show Nikita helping '86 in the cage here? In this show. I'm '86 so sure we are. I'm I'm not sure either, but, you know, we're gonna we're gonna enjoy the whole show. But I do know that '86 gonna be a stressful show, Tony. Mhmm. You know, it's a it's a pretty brief one. We've talked about that in recent weeks that lot of these on the network are are trimmed down Originally, this was a sixty minute episode, but now it's thirty four minutes. So clearly, they've cut a few things out of here. Maybe they were sponsored elements or what what have you. I'm not exactly sure, but it's only a 34 minute watch along, but I just know it's going to be a stressful 34 I'm not exactly sure. Yeah. '86 TA's only a thirty four minute watch along. I just know it's gonna be a stressful thirty four minutes. Yeah. '86 is. It's going to be stressful in many It's gonna be stressful in many ways. And you know, I don't know how you And, you know, I don't know how you relax. Focus are unwind after stress focus, or unwind after stress, Conrad. It's just different on, and I want to see if I can get them on, on It's just '86. And and I wanna see if I can get them on on Lucy. Well, listen, I I'm excited for our show today, but I feel like we should talk about some other happenings and goings on -- Mhmm. -- in and around the raslin business and your life -- Mhmm. -- before we talk about Raslin. Let's just talk about you here for a minute. Okay. Let's go. What's that? Is it Is it gonna is gonna involve the word rebel? No. Oh, thank '86. Go wait. What's the family thinking of what your, of your What's the family thinking '86 your of your '86? Yeah. Okay. Well, as you know, I when it was done and Craig took the pictures of the tattoo and sent it to me. I immediately sent it to two people, I sent to Lois, and I sent it to Laurie. And Laurie said, no, you didn't. Server '86. I said, yes. That's my arm. And of course, Laurie being working with us has become a very good '86 and immediately sent it to you and send it to all my brothers. Lois just kinda rolled her eyes, like, you know, you're out of your mind type and didn't make that big of a deal out of it. But then the kids started getting in touch with me. Chris Shivani said, I wanna see it. Come on. Show it to me. And I sent him text, I said, you got the picture, didn't you? You went, yeah, I said, '86 looks the same. K? I'm not putting my arm in front of a of a phone for you because it looks the same. Matt kinda likes shrugged because that's the way he is. Tim wanted to know why everybody got in touch with him when I had a '86. '86 because Tim has a lot of tattoos. He said, so you're following my footsteps. Huh? I said, I guess, I don't I said, I guess, I don't know. And then John Michael, who's, you know, removed from the family. I don't even know if he's still alive or not, to be honest you. So that's kind of the reaction. I haven't seen much of a reaction on and I'm sure there's been on social media. '86 but there it is. There it is. And like I said '86 time, there's gonna be more tattoos on the way. I'm gonna look like Malachi Black. What will your new gimmick name be? Anthony Black. Oh, just going straight with it. Yeah. That's right. '86 punk? Oh, or or doc Shivani? Oh, okay. So you're you're definitely leaning into the wrestling bed. Yeah. Of course. Okay. '86 my that's my light. Thanks to you again. Because we've just had so much fun with Oscar and so many other of these '86, and we've had so much fun with Ron Garbons promos and, you know, the funny Aron Anderson Quips here and there. And now '86, it's gonna get serious and the show starts serious and I think the best thing for us to do is just go ahead and '86 the Band Aid off, man. So without further ado, fire up your peacock world championship wrestling's once you want to search for So without further ado, fire up your peacock. So which car was car was yours? The white Pontiac Grand Am '86 to the truck. Who's driving the old lancurs or the old Toyota SUV there? Oh Man, I think it was a guy who did our photography. That dude's TA's worth more money than all the rest now. How about that? Damn. '86 me about how about that. I can't believe We're gonna show the whole we're gonna show the whole thing, I guess, of this. Yeah. Now here we're gonna talk about Magnum briefly. Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to world championship wrestling and '86 welcome to world championship wrestling. And, Tony, I am very happy to say that TA's is doing very well. And Jimmy will be out here later in the program to give you a complete report. And David, today's program. As you hear the fans, ready for '86, just around the Cornette, and we're ready also. We got some outstanding news for you today. Some of the biggest news in professional '86. Some of the biggest news in professional wrestling. That's right, Tony. And you ought to know because you're gonna have that special Starrcade update '86 fans when we talk about Starrcade being the greatest it will be. You've '86 listen to the news because '86, it's something else. '86 is really exciting. StarKade right around the corner you're up today because we have some of the '86 news in the history of professional wrestling. Let's bring in a talk with us right now, a man who is really making a big name for himself in world championship championship championship. think '86 Armstrong. Thank you very much, Tony. David, it's pleasure to be here. And I just want to say that for the last couple of years, I've just been able to watch this star Kate and see what the events are taking and I just '86 say that for the last couple of years, I've just been able to watch this arcade and see what the events are taking place. But brother, I'm excited to be a part of it this year. And by gosh, I'm gonna be right in the middle of it. I have silently '86, but whether you better believe that I've got open contract if it happens to be a tag with my partner 249 Horner, and that's fine. And then I just just like I said at my excited to be right in the middle of '86 cadence. I'm jumping in with both feet and hopefully make some waves here in world championship area. Okay. '86 Armstrong, and you can expect good things to remain. If you're ready, we're ready for one of the most exciting hours in '86, let's go to the ring. So Brad Armstrong is is clearly a brother guy. He dropped a couple of brothers on us. Yeah. But you could tell boy, he was as nervous as a long tail cat in a room full of rocking you could tell, boy, he was as nervous as a long tail cat, room full of rocking chairs. Yeah. He was. I'm I'm really surprised And '86 I mean, you you heard what we said about what we think David said, Magnum is okay. Yep. He's doing well. Jimmy would be out here. That's it. And I'm really when Brad '86 in, I'm I'm thinking, is he going to say, you know, we're all, you know, praying for you, Magnum, thinking about you and whatever. Because in hindsight now, Magnum Direct happens and people ensure it know '86. It's before the '86 obviously, so not everybody knows it. But I'm thinking there's a lot of people from the Charlotte area who's gonna tune in here to see how he's doing. And But to your point, you would assume that they would open with an update on Magnum to let '86 let the national fans know. But at the same time, you know, this is probably a weird spot. You know, again, I don't mean to be this way, but if if the wreck had gone the other way, Uh-huh. And, unfortunately, we lost Magnum, which thank God we didn't. But if that would have been the case, then you certainly would have opened with a tribute and some sort of memorial type conversation. What have you? But at this point, to '86 your point, we're only four days later, a lot of folks would say, well, we don't know yet. And we don't wanna let's not play this like doom and gloom. He still might be okay. And you know, there's a lot of eternal optimists out there and I happen to be one of them. And -- Okay. -- at that point, they may have just thought, well, let's just If we're not sure what to do, let's do nothing. We'll keep him abreast, but let's not make it into a big deal until we know. I think there were few others in the office that knew. Hey, a special shout out to our sponsor, Geico and geico.com for being with us here this special shout out to our sponsor, geico and geico dot com for being with us here this week. At least '86 talking with Dusty and after talking with Rick and I think we all really knew, but I guess it was good not to you're right. I guess it was, even though we kind of knew it was good not to say '86. I guess it was even though we kinda knew '86 was good not to say anything. Gosh. Also, too, you might have fell out of respect for your your friend, the real life '86 Allen. Right. If somebody's gonna say, he'll never wrestle again. '86 should be his statement to make. Yeah. That's right. Yeah. Right. Yeah. You're right. You're right. On all accounts, there's a Russian leg sweep as Brad Armstrong knew how to do buddy on all accounts. There's a Russian leg sweep Brad Armstrong wrong knew how to do, buddy. And just rolls over right into a pen, Teddy lawn counts rolls over right into a pin. '86 Long counts '86, and that's all she wrote. Of Tim Horner and Brad Armstrong pick up a win in the opening match here. Pretty good looking white meat babyface tag team. I I loved him. I absolutely loved absolutely loved him. And a reminder 15 minutes could save you 50% or more on car insurance with reminder, '86 minutes could save you '86 percent of more car insurance with Geico. Here we go. One match already signed for eighty six hair versus hair. Let's bring in the boogeyman, Jimmy Vine. You got Paul Jones in the ring. But this time, you put up the hair of big mama. Everything from me is me and you, and you know that for sure. And now, Paul Jones, if you beat me, every hell, my mama's head will be saved. And if I beat you, you will be. His big mama was her name was Felicia, and she was She was something else. They had a daughter. I'm not so sure if it was her daughter by another marriage, a '86, or what, but I met her one time and she was like, I don't know, a little bit younger than me maybe. And, boy, was she spectacular? And And you know what else is spectacular switching over your car insurance to know what else? Is spectacular? Switching over your car insurance Geico. And it doesn't have to be and it doesn't have to be scary. There you go. How about Jimmy Garvin Stratton man? Yep. Jimmy, is that the way you walked around the house '86 you got your new tattoo? He was Hanging on hanging on hand in long locks in the along. Hanging along blocks in back. You you referred to Arne Anderson once as having a fleshed colored Yamica. I don't know what what we would say about Teddy's hair. Boy, from that angle, that was not the angle to show on that replay because Jimmy took care of him boy. Yeah. Alright. Can listen. Here we go. And the midnight express seriously injured animal, the road warriors, and Kornack claimed that Enamel was out of professional wrestling for good. Well, as you expect, the road warriors are not out of wrestling. Let's take a look at the comeback of the road warriors. So we're seeing some workout footage here. Yeah. '86 do you think this would have been '86? In Charlotte, I'm sure. Right? Yeah. It was there was a gym they worked. There was a gold gym. think they all worked at Charlotte '86 down the road. Now we all I worked out there some 249, believe it or not. And it's unbelievable to think about just how massive these fells were. My god. And this is, you know, the shit there. I mean, this is, there's nothing gimmicky about these I mean, this is there's nothing gimmick about these weights, obviously. What we're watching right '86 we're watching right now? Oh, '86 listen. Let's take a look right now. Jerry you think You've single-handedly destroyed the Legion of doom you've done single handedly '86 the legion of doom. You've done what nobody else TA's never done before in professional wrestling. Well, I got news for you, Jimmy Cornett. Why don't I know? What time does it get up every morning? And work for a living. They've worked for everything they've got. And when they get into, they give it all, they think, God. And that's just what we're gonna do. Come things giving day. '86 Hock, hey, these construction workers are pie in the scaffolds, reckon for anything they got just like the lawyers work for anything they got. Well, then construction workers high up in a scaffold are taking a chance '86 life and losing life every day. By falling off. They're the closest ones to sky for '86 animal. That's why that's why we're calling match. A special match. That's right. The cone is match. The night of the sky walkers aid in cutting a cutting You have never lived on months. You never lie around a month because we were working '86 place hard. You'll see a fire on your bus. May I open second fire. And now, May the sky walkers. You're going down. Let's go down. What a famous '86 a famous Cornette '86 TA's, what hell of a show this is on hindsight. we see the road warriors climbing the scaffold here, and, of course, they're gonna have this big pump constraint. Let's track it. Take a look. This is what you've got to look forward '86. Noting to Skywalkers. Hey, we've got our birds up here. Jesus, have a land on these corridors. Have a balance. And have a key buck. One thing, you lazy morons '86 learned do yet. Hey, brother. What happens when you fall off one of these scaffolds, show you what happened? You people out there. You take a look. Especially, you men are express. What did I say? I did, Adam? What did I say? This says, love a boy. There I go. That's good. Assure you, what happens when you fall off? That's capital d. And now we're seeing the We got one more. And what does this one have to say? That TA's, Bobby. That beautiful, Bobby is before your head got through. '86 hits the ground. Slow motion of Bobby's pumpkin, which actually '86 about the same size in Orange Head in reality. Dude, the slow motion of the pumpkin falling is ridiculous. But the slow motion of the pump is '86 the Cornette. TA's kind of a fun visual. Yeah. I know. We assume that Jackie went out and shot this with him? Yeah. I I'm thinking that Jackie and Wayne Daniel. But in hindsight, '86 know, they were at a place called the gym, and I'm not so sure if this I'm not so sure where this was. I thought it was the gym close where we work and rolls '86 a place called the gym. So that '86 have been in Minneapolis, and we And we've got a film and there you have a two teams in the air, all those scaffold, 20 feet in the air for the first '86 a film close. Many Fernandez the ratings bull will be in the ring '86, but he's gonna be in a cage thirty feet above the ring. Some people call this cage '86 loop. Also, James j Dillon has presented a contract for a world television title match. Tully Blanchard against '86 Rhodes, the NBA '86 and will not sanction this match. Because it's a first blood match. But because of what's going on between Tully Blanchard and Dusty Rhodes, I will present this contract to Dusty for him to make that decision. Okay. The excitement continues for star KDT The excitement continues for '86 TA's six. We'll see you next week right here at the control center. Where did you shoot those? We shot it. They had a rack in the back in the back area with Over the office? The monitor. Yeah. '86 the office. Thirty feet in the air. I scaffold '86. And the only way someone can '86 knocking is opponent off of the scaffold, right down to the left. Just like the run wire said, Skawonger. You're up there. It's '86 like a hundred feet. Well, '86, Jim Acord had to say we have the highest flyers in wrestling. His chance to prove it's gonna come up during '86 eight eighty six. They throw them off that throw him off that thing. They will be They will be flying. Okay. They have wings. Yeah. I'm sure. David, but Let's talk about the dusty roads, '86 blanket. And the situation has developed between those two men has been building for years and years and the situation '86 developed between those two men that TA's been building for years and years and years. That's '86 right. The the really, you have to include it's the four horsemen. '86 right. Alright. '86 Rose every year. Dusty Rose '86 a part of Starrcade. Every system. Again, there was a match last week in which dusty beginning. Alright. There was a match. Last week, in which '86 Rose, they said if he lost it, he could not go in 249 Starrcade. was a part of contract. That's right. Alright. Tully Blanchett and the four horsemen they wanted Dusty out. They any way they could, alright, they want some extra insurance going in that match, and you know exactly what they did to Dusty's arm. Let's take a look at what they did to the hand of dusty roads. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. That's it. Hey. Go on. Going up South Boulevard here. Alright. That line, El '86 warehouse. Ollie and I '86 on his tail, but he probably '86. Is that Ollie's or is that Orange Cadillac? That's that's either way. think it's all these cats on. Getting in that parking lot for sure. There's no '86' around and never get out. Come on. '86. Turn. Turn. Yeah. He's '86. We've got him. We '86 TA's right where we want him. That's it. Take it easy, arm. Take it easy, not too close. Not too close. Come on. One in the parking lot. I'm on now. '86. Yeah. Right back there to Crockett's office. Here's my white car on the right here. I can't wait to see it again. There it is. Right in front of the truck sitting there, maybe a truck move. Don't you worry. Just keep that around. Contact Bill's '86. Look at our world. Look at our world. Look at our stage and get our space today. Look at our world's time. I've got it now. Be six roads. Why don't I tell you why? Yeah. Yeah. I want this to stand in the water roads. Yeah. Well, it's easier. Tomorrow night is Okay. You heard JJ said, we'll see you tomorrow night in You heard JJ said we'll see you '86 night in Charlotte now. The contract said if Duffy or his partner lost the match, then Duffy could not be a part of '86. But Duffy said, I will be prepared that night. And he would have a partner. Here we go. That sets the stage. Was Dusty prepared? Let's see it right. He I don't think any of us were prepared for this. Let's take a look at it. It's that the fans really weren't sure. I mean, they were going crazy, obviously. But they really weren't sure. And the way they played it up TA's, '86 was not sure until you see how he gets in the ring. Tremendous. '86 that, buddy. Goosball moment what we just saw here. Yeah. And the fans are going wild as '86 and Magnum. Are no longer. And now it's dusty and Nikita. Yeah. Magnum's biggest foe, his biggest enemy. And there's Rick Fleyhr. Let's take a listen. That '86 sure off his '86. Alright, Tony. '86 was prepared. '86, you're not you had special partner. And what a special partner it was and who would have '86? That would have happened. But The two superpowers '86, David. Star k, the momentum is building with the skywalkers, the scaffold with the road warriors, and Jim '86 midnight express the hair versus hair, the hair of big mama going up against the hair of Paul Jones. And now the momentum is building because the two superpowers together. And we'll talk to those two men right after this '86, and we'll talk to those two men right after this time. What's interesting, Tony, is you filmed this on the morning of the nineteenth The show we just saw happened that evening. So you were getting ahead of it. Of course, you never said Magnum to you. I mean, Nikita Koloff right there, you said Super Powers. You didn't spill it. Let's listen to Dustin. You got it. Two very important issues '86 hand right now. Dustin Rhodes. The American dream one is my closest friend in life was Magnum TA in the accident that he McAdrienne: One is my closest friend in life of Magnum '86 in the accident that he suffered. The last two weeks have been very difficult for dusty royalty in Mac and Dream. Because '86 and Dusty Rhodes made their own rules. We love fast cars and fast times and that's the way we lived on the end of that light bold that crested through this vast earth of ours. That's the way we're gonna continue to live. And after TA's Nikita Koloff called me on the phone and we talked for hours, and we met and talked for more hours. I don't believe everything that Nikita Koloff believes in, and he doesn't believe everything that I do. But living in his country gives you that right, to be free, to have freedom of speech, to have freedom of choice, to have freedom to do and be what you wanna be. And me never being one to go by the rules of the book. I have a lot of bad feelings '86 a lot of bad things. And some stuff undone, the four horsemen undone. '86 do you like my choice are not not really important industrializing American dream. The respect you have maybe of this country of ours, brought as they're saying these two superpowers together and didn't always agree on everything, but at least had a common bond or what you wanted out of life, then it'd be better. And I have a new partner. And that's Nikita Koloff. And Nikita Coloff, I know one thing about the greatest Russian athlete in the world. Nikki. It's placebo does does see. You know, I am proud of the Russian. And I am superior '86. And I go to Japan and defeat many many '86. Well, last week, I come back to America and I hear about Magenta. And I call you, does he? I call you because many times I meet Magnum Thierry in the ring and many times we had a '86 fight. And I learned to risk back him. Well, now, Nakita has cause. Many times, my MPA say, volume he has no rule. And many '86, Nikita said for me, there is no law. Grandman of eleven, nobody '86 Nikita what to do. And now you '86 to remember, I, '86 Koloff, am greatest Russian athlete to ever walk TA's earth. Here we go. '86 So there we there we go. Yeah. We just heard from Dusty saying, I don't have to explain my actions to anybody on on the famous set. Is that also in the back of the warehouse? Yeah. In the office. Mhmm. I wanna mention a lot of times, you know, dusty would come on here and say '86 things and say, you know, I was in the Himalayas last week. Right. But '86, based on my research, it looks like the day of the accident and the key to Koloff actually was in Japan. Yeah. Being crusher cruise ship had been wrestling over there, I don't know, for a week or so, maybe ten TA's, but they actually were there in Japan when when the accident happened. Wow. I think we did it looking back at it and looking at that I think we did and looking back at it and looking at that interview, I think we did the best we could do. Don't you? No. I totally agree. And listen, '86 was a it was a a goose '86 moment to see them come out together and then the pause. And then when he '86 involved physically, '86 was nicely done. And I know you '86 week you were really taking issue with. I don't think they were gonna do Magnum and Flyer. But the way they just set that up, where, you know, oh, you're with '86, then then then I want you. Right. I mean, I I feel like I don't know. I could believe that the Magnum was gonna be the God eighty six, but if he wasn't an eighty six, certainly '86 seven -- Mhmm. -- showing the address again here. Let's '86. The cards and '86, you'll get well wishes to Magnum, CA '86 Memorial Hospital, PO Box 32861, Charlotte, 28232, please do not call the hospital, but please send your card's '86 to that address. Thank you very much. Okay. We're back with you on world championship wrestling. The momentum -- Oh, no. -- and tell him he's talking to me now about being a high fire. '86 on way up in the air. didn't mean all the things '86 was saying about flying that. I don't know. You did the interview. You know what kind of thing you're talking about a scaffold match. That's the most dangerous kind of match that there could ever be. most dangerous thing to actually have a wrestling match on a scaffold a few feet '86, twenty feet near up over the ring, which is even more of a drop to the floor. You got. Now, nowhere Paula, we're going to roll '86 now nowhere to pull '86 in a room where they've been. They've been in a rubber room over '86 puzzle after giving them custom made jackets with the long sleeves because the anger that frustrates their humiliation and the pain of what they suffered '86 our hands has run them crazy and they have gone go '86 the meme and now they dream this thing up because only an insane irrational person '86 but I wouldn't be a part of something like this. Because of exactly how dangerous it is, don't eat somebody. At Paul Edwards, I don't know whether or not 249 care about what happens those two big and hit to yours, but I care about my boys. Disclose friends of mine as well as being managed by me. And I'm scared baby, scared, but I'm scared for me. You never drank me up on top of that thing. But you know what they're doing, Tony? They're trying to put the big one over on us. We're too tough. We're too bad. We can't be managing. We can't be '86. So they're trying to put the big one over on us. And Jim Crockett, and EMA, and everybody has to try to let him get away with. A mess like this, it can '86 into your career. It could be the end of everything, but I won't tell you some rewards of Polymer. You better watch out for us because if we even lay eyes on you before Thanksgiving night. '86 the combat rolls around. You ain't gonna be able to climb up on nothing any taller. Ben, I'm a little bit. I promise you that because TA's gonna be done about this thing. We ain't getting up on those scaffold. Jim '86, TA's We're coming right coming right back. Man. '86, ladies and gentlemen. It's a good time, '86 good times, man. Right? '86, it's it's bad times, but it's good times, because we had a lot of stuff going on. In our part of it. Cornet '86 Was on was on fire. Yeah, he was He was, man. He he really was. It was great time of year for him. And you know, that October is Geico's favorite time of year and they've been working even harder to cast out high rates on car You know '86 October is GEICO's favorite time of year. And they've been working even harder to cast out high rates on car insurance. That's a geico.com That's a guy code dot com. The Comerad did was the the check '86 Starrcade eighty six, was that the most that Cornette was paid by the Crockets? You know, I'm not sure. Let me check. That's a great question, though. Yeah. It may have '86 may have been. And I've told the story that I asked Dennis Condrick. I said, and this I think this was like when we were standing all of their standing getting ready to do an interview on '86, I said, I hope you guys '86 paid a lot of money for this. And Condrey said, '86 we better or there won't be another one. Yeah. And there wasn't another one. There wasn't another one. So '86 the spike And you you know how I mentioned don't call the hospital? Yep. '86 was overrun with calls. And that was one of the big stories in in '86. Like, this professional wrestler is hurt and Charlotte Memorial Hospital has never seen the outpouring of affection and the people coming to the hospital and coming going to the lobby and sitting outside and having vigils for him and calling, don't call us, please. Oh, man. Here we go. John Paul. Yeah. John Paul. Hey. If you want bigger TA's. If you want, straw for me. You've got face of price. From now on, big moneyball players is what I have right here. '86 me tell you something. Raseke, you can't keep up with what I want. I demand a lot if you can't keep up. Stay out of my hair. I don't ever wanna see your face again. And then, you know, I'm looking at the Rocky Roll express, and I'm looking at those two belts around these two giants. And, you know, something with '86 You're a big '86 man. You have a big '86. '86 if you wanna be? Oh my god. A man is a savior. Oh my god. The rage in ball because remember, you're gonna have to look at the rage in ball and it's gonna be from across the ring, the jimmy value at the matches time, you are gonna be mine. He thinks TA's gonna be a ball '86. gate. And the morning when you get up, Hey, you're eating your post the morning when you get up and you're eating your '86 dosage. And you look across at think and you look across a big bubble and she's looking at you. And you look at her and she's a boy '86. She's gonna be the luckiest '86 you ever seen in your life. '86 something. Daddy, you know daddy. You know, Wahoo McDaniel's, the toughest man to professional reference. Comes out here, my man. Comes out here. Mhmm. Just widening his '86. I never thought I'd see the day, Wahoo! And you'd come out here and cry about something. What? That you open up the '86 mean you? Open up the road. And now that I got the ravishing one, and you just saw an example of the awesome doosome baby, we got a lot more to dish out Indian. So if you want to stick your nose in my business, don't mess with a hoard if you wanna stick your nose in my business, don't mess with the horn, baby. Because if you don't do it, I sure will take care of you and send you Cornette '86 your TV. Baby. That's right. Squa who can't take nothing away from you. You lasted nine years in the NFL. You're one tough dude. Oh, just remember '86 raging bull and rather see Rick '86. You didn't last nine seconds. We immerse you in front of your whole tribe. Red man. Oh, better a red man than a dead man. That's right. That's what he wrote. You get all the help you. Why you ran down the road, you're you want. You're '86 up on your road. You're breaking ready. Ronnie on your road. You're breaking up. Let's see you next week, fan. We'll get a championship wrestling. Whoa. I didn't know all that was in there. I didn't didn't either. I but that's that's the world as we knew it back in eighty six. And and our apologies if we offended anybody. My goodness. Yes. Yeah. Gone. Right. I got a '86. I got a question. But he got his biggest payoff Maybe not his biggest payoff, but that was ten thousand forty five dollars for, I guess, what's gonna be known as the most watched Midland Express match of all '86. And unfortunately, it's probably also the worst one. Yeah. Big on '86, but, man, you wanna talk about arguably, the greatest team of all '86, just their matches that they '86 together were unbelievable. But you kinda lose some of that when you put them on a platform '86 five, thirty feet above the ring. They can't really do that same stuff. Yeah. It it's amazing when you think about if you flash forward to, like, let's say, twenty ten, twenty eleven. Twenty twelve? '86 the payoffs were back then. Yeah. Millions. Right? Yeah. And ten thousand dollars. Which in the grand scheme of things, a ten thousand dollar payoff for a night 249 me was pretty good. I don't know if court had said in his book if he was disappointed in that or not. The fact '86 he blew out his knee, probably he was disappointed. '86. We'll we'll talk about that, match. I'm I'm sure more '86 month. As we go gonna are we gonna are we gonna Starrcade? '86, we are. Yeah. And I yeah. If you're thinking '86 I'm thinking and I'm thinking what you're thinking, I'm thinking, we might need special guest or two three. Oh, Yeah, that'd be be great. Let's get Cornette. I mean, you know for sure our old pal David Crockett is down to clown anytime. Absolutely. He B he's had a phenomenal time and what a great asset he's been us here on the show and there's a lot of performers who were, who were on that card, who were still alive and kicking and probably down to have a little fun with '86, he'd be. He's had a phenomenal time and and what great asset TA's been to us here on the show and -- Yeah. -- there's a lot of performers who were who were on that card who were still alive and kicking and probably down to have a little fun with us. So stay tuned for that. You know, it's become a Thanksgiving tradition around here of sorts. For us to watch an old '86. arcade. And it feels like this year we should definitely watch And it feels like this year, we should definitely watch nineteen eighty six. Yeah. Because, obviously, that's our biggest show of of this year. Sure. A lot of great things in the show, a lot of obviously disappointing, discouraging things, and upsetting things. But overall, hell of a show, man. Really hell of a show. And, again, apologies for the war cry and calling wahoo, squahoo, and Oh, yeah. We didn't know that was in there. No. We didn't know I'll be Cornette. I haven't seen that whole show. I've seen clips. Right? Yeah. But I've never seen that whole show put together. And I know what you just saw was just over thirty minutes. But think you could argue that might be one of the best thirty minute shows in the history of wrestling. Mhmm. It's so, like, so important historically. Right. That makes sense. I think that that scene with '86 outside of Jim Crockett promotions '86 him up to the '86. Is probably the most memorable of all the four horsemen angles. Don't you think? It's up there. And and there's there's a lot of controversy at the time, you know, People were starting to get quote unquote smart to the business. Right. And a lot of people felt like it was a goof. It was an edit. When '86 yelled, make it good. Make it good. Right? But in reality, '86 was a reference 249, like, an old western. '86? And from what I '86, the movie TA's, one odd jack Marlon Brando was in that movie. Mhmm. And his '86, Rio, had been betrayed by his partner, and fellow outlaw, Dad Longworth, who was played by Carl Malden, and following a bankruptcy the two had committed together years later, I should mention Long Wharf became the sheriff and Moreno '86 to town To confront him, Rio is captured tied to a hitching post and '86, but the worst blow of all is yet to come. Barely able speak, Rio says you'd better kill me. His meaning was '86 all you've done to me, you've betrayed me, you've whipped me, You might as well kill me because if you don't, I'll be back to kill you. And that breakdown is brought to us by the Mid '86 Gateway com, old friend of the show, mister Dick Born. He loves that moment and always took great issue when fans would say, because they knew he was sort of running things. He was the booker. They assumed it was make it look good. Like, no no. Yeah. Make it good. Like, you you better not miss. Or, like, as Omar would say, when you come for the king, you best not miss. Well, here's all you need to know about that. And two things. Dusty, loved '86, old westerns. And number two, '86 shouted, make it good. Yes. If he would he '86, make it good. He didn't say make it good. Yeah. He shouted it out. He shouted it out because he wanted to to air that way. He didn't just say, make it look He didn't just say, make it look good. He shouted it, so it could be heard by the camera. Hey, Hey and speaking of shout, a shout out to our sponsor, Geico and speaking shout a shout out to our sponsor GEICO and geico.com. dot What a moment, '86 a moment, honk, attacking dusty roads, and the parking lot '86 JCP. It really a great moment. I I think if I was gonna first of all, There are two things that as great as it is Mhmm. -- I can be critical of. Sure. I wish in a perfect world, I guess there's three things. I wish in a perfect world it was a thicker rope. '86? I wish that Dusty wasn't holding the ladder instead of he should've been trying to fight to get away. Yep. Let me hold it still for you. Right. And when Jay Jay is trying to choke him with the '86. But of course, he's not really trying to choke him to a friend. '86 he's trying to choke him. And does he just goes, no. Don't get me wrong. I watch enough of this shit that I that I I'm just overly critical and I get that. Because if you '86, know, and I don't really know Dusty. I '86 Dusty like five times in my life, but the point is, I can have fun with that. And I understand at the time everyone took it very, very seriously, but I just think about him being like, okay, I needed to look good and I could pull this little bullshit string I understand '86 the time everyone took it very very seriously. But I just think about him being like, okay, I needed to look good and I could pull this little bullshit string so I won't do that and ruin it. I'll just hold '86. And then TA's not giving me much with this. I got to really seal I gotta really seal it. The angle itself, phenomenal. So good, by the way, that ten years later, '86 will be ripped off in WWE with the '86 and the NWA. Mhmm. And it got such a reaction '86 we're only able to show it on TV once. So '86 that old saying? There are no new ideas in wrestling. '86, man, that was a good one. That was really great '86. And it was really fun just to see the old Crockett office and -- Yeah. -- all the cars there and -- Mhmm. -- you could tell that mister Crockett didn't really care about parking lot maintenance. No. It was fun to see, man. Yeah. That building as we know is gone. The building in front of TA's gone. Lion El '86 Warehouse has gone. South Boulevard looks a lot different. Nineteen eighty six, man. III have a lot of memories and a lot of the memories that I have do not really connect I didn't realize in my memory bank that our announcement of Magnum being hurt and that angle with '86, we're on the same show. That didn't click with me '86 I was an old boy. This is all in the same show, man. And, obviously, Rick Flaire, and we showed the the '86 footage from '86, and Flaire obviously set up the match for him, '86, for the world title. '86 Starrcade. So good stuff, buddy. So much happened in this much happened in this show. It's hard to even I don't know. It's it's hard to really contextualize what a big show we just watched. And and how much changed just like that? Yeah. '86 life, man. It is changes just like that in January, is. K. Changes like '86. In January twenty seventeen for me just like '86. And then signing with AW just like that. I I talk about that all time how you just can't. In like, you can't say, well, that's the way it's going be. Yeah. Because it's not. It's not the way it's gonna Well, it will be if you decide it is. But if you keep after it, '86? Right. It doesn't have to be. No, it doesn't have to It doesn't have to be. As a matter of fact, for you your young couples out there or you people out there that are thinking that I can't get into a a brand new home, you're probably wrong. Aren't they? That's exactly right. I don't know where we can go from here. It's been such a a big time episode that we just saw. But next week here on the show, I guess we should mention, let's circle back to this. You mentioned live there at the Matt A show on October nineteenth. 19th. Oh, and Dusty had a special partner, didn't he? But you never said '86 out of your mouth. Right. And it's because even back then, KFAB was so real, even though this was way pre '86, you didn't want any of these hundred folks or whoever it was here in the in the studio to know that Dusty and and and and Nikita were together. Right. So you just called them the superpowers. And that was it. And that was a code name that hadn't really been used before. So nobody in the studio who was there to watch the tapings had any idea, but that night is when what we just saw '86 happened? The main event, of course, was Dusty and Nikita. He was, of course, substituting for Magnum against Oley and JJ. JJ was in there for an injured, '86 blanchard. It was a steel cage match. As we heard the stipulation was, '86 would not be a part of Starrcade if his team lost The very next day, you're in Greenville, South Carolina. It's dusty in Nikita on '86, taken on only an iron in a steel cage. And then on the twentieth, we've got Fayetteville, North Carolina TA's a B show, which is Bobby Jaegers and Dutch '86 taken on the Midland Express in the main event. Another TV taping this time for worldwide on the twenty first in Greenville, South Carolina. Rick Flaire is on tour, of course. And the twenty third '86, South Carolina. Central States has got a show that you guys are, I guess, sort of half ass '86. On the twenty third in Concordia, Kansas, and another in Warrensburg, Missouri. But then we do a big show. Ten thousand fans in attendance on the twenty fourth. Rick Flaire and Dusty Rhodes in the main event. Kansas City has a has a show that weekend. '86 States again '86 action there at the Memorial Hall. Greensboro, the home of '86, '86 quite the crowd we're hoping for, but again remember the big show TA's a month later. So it's October twenty fifth nineteen eighty six. There's only four thousand two hundred and eighty one fans there. They're gonna have '86 and Nikita on top, taken on Arden and Oly, and a still cage match. A '86 and show on the twenty sixth with flare and Murdoch in a '86 cage, and then the twenty sixth is another big omni show, and it is a big omni show. It's flare in Dick Murdoch in the main event. Just below that, it's Dusty and Nikita '86 on Oly and Arnd, then we're back on the road. Merner Gym in North Carolina. Do you remember that building? Merner Gym? I don't remember a murder '86 remember Merner Gym. don't even know where it was. Had to be somewhere in the Carolinas. But I do know that geico dot com will help you switch your car insurance '86 coverage during October doesn't have to be scary. So what is this about murder Jim? But you '86 the midnight express there, '86 on bobby jaguars and Dutch man '86 us, and I'm gonna mispronounce Misenheimer in North Carolina. '86 not Ringo Bell. Yeah. For some reason, thinking it's Meisenheimer, but -- Yep. -- you're probably And I I should have known because I said it probably a hundred times. '86 just phenomenal to me that in the middle of '86. the Army, and then we're at this gym. Yeah. I know. October twenty seventh. Again, it's Dusty and Nikita '86 on Tully and Arne. '86 is back here. It's a double bull rope match in Greenville on October twenty seventh, another TV taping on the twenty eighth in Rock Hill, South Carolina. They're gonna have a Japanese television crew there to shoot dusty roads, teaming with Ricky and Robert take on Rick Blair, Aron and Oley, in a steel cage match. We're in Boone, North Carolina at the Varsity gym on October twenty ninth. The thirtieth, we're in Charleston, West Virginia, easy for me to say. We're back in Philadelphia already on November. First, this time on top, it's a big Bubba, Bobby Eaton and Dennis Condrey taken on Ron Garvin, Bobby Jaggers and Dutch first. This time on top, it's a big bubba, Bobby Eton, and Dennis Condrey, '86 on Ron Garben, Bobby Jaggers, and Dutch '86, And then, of course, November second, we're gonna shoot another episode of '86, and it's gonna air on November '86. But we'll pick it up next week when we talk about November second. But, man, what a freakin' October it was here for Jim Crockett promotions? Yeah. You know, TA's odd to say, hey, we got the army and then we got these high school gyms. But the idea TA's, you know, book every town that you can. Get as many tickets sold as can. Exactly. And they would go to these high school '86. And they would go to these high school gyms. Now you said the varsity gym and boon that's Appalachian '86, you said the Artsy Gym and Boone '86 Appalachian State, so that's a college gym. But you would have you would go to these high school gyms and you would work out something with the athletic '86. And you would give the athletic department a portion of the funds and thus the athletic department would push the tickets for you. You know '86 interesting, Tony, is as we're getting ready to cover next week, I don't know if you you heard, but there there doesn't it doesn't feel like there was an episode between October twenty fifth and November eighth on TA's. Now maybe somebody is gonna correct us on that. But as I'm looking through here, it looks like the next time it's taped is gonna be for the November eighth episode and it's taped on the second. So when when you and I record next week, it'll be the November eighth edition. While we'll be way ahead. We'll be way ahead. Which means that, you know, we're gonna have a chance to stop and and take care of business when it comes time for Starrcade eighty six. Right. Exactly. So, yeah, we'll jump ahead. I don't I don't know why again. That's just one of those episodes. They I guess, they just don't have on there. But a couple of things you were kind of going over where Jim Crockett Promotions was. I wanna say something about our company. That this weekend, as this show drops on Wednesday this weekend, we're gonna be in Orlando for '86 night dynamite. And then we're going back to Boston a week from this Wednesday on the twenty seventh. And that's gonna be at Boston '86, got a big crowd, anticipated there. And I every time he and I do. And he, he, every time Derek and I do an interview on a podcast, the, the question always is how did this all interview, I every time Dirk and I do an interview on a '86? No. The the question always is, How did this all begin? And I say, well, Mike Dockkins, the gimmick attorney -- Mhmm. -- Conrad introduced me to now become my lawyer. And Mike Dockkins got in touch with me and said, hey, would you like to do a comic book about your life? And I went, yes, I would. And Mike Dawkins said to me, well, I've got this guy who is one of the top comic book writers around. I know him. He's a personal friend. He's a great guy. So let me put you in touch with him. I said, okay. I said, but that guy was not available. So we had to settle on Dirk Manning. So that's how I always intro these. And Dirk always laughs about it.
