This podcast is a part of a capstone project that focuses on the effects of sexual assault on individuals’ discovery, perspective, and performance of intimacy, sex, and sexuality. Though this is a sensitive topic, it is important to explore and de-stigmatize the consequences of sexual assault. Understandably, it should not be the responsibility of the survivor to resolve the traumas following their assault, but it is important to create a space where this type of discourse is discussed openly. It gives social and cultural context behind rape culture, virginity, sexuality, and other topics that influence one’s response to sexual assault.
