Every day or two I will upload a piece of original music with a written commentary describing its origins and structure. I’ll describe and discuss the decisions that went into writing it, with particular reference to what I believe is one of the most important aspects of modern composition -- what to leave out. Does music need original chords? Does it need notes? Does it need reverb and delay? Does it need loops? Does it need anything else but loops?

There are plenty of music blogs telling you what you need to put in. This might be the only one that tells you what you should leave out.
