Like history? Like Politics? If you said yes to either of those, you will like this podcast; if you said yes to both, you will love it. Even if you don't usually like either history or politics talk, this is still a good way to eat your vegetables on the topics that have swallowed up our news media in recent years.
John Dickerson is one of the most thoughtful political commentators around and this is most certainly his passion project. While you can get his take on the world of the present on 60 Minutes and as a member of the august Slate Political Gabfest panel, you will be missing the best part of his personality: the full geek-out he provides when thinking about America's past.
Each episode is a story that shows that while history does not repeat itself, it certainly rhymes. It is delivered with whit, passion, and an understanding for what parallels are important for understanding the modern world.
I would listen to anything Dickerson produces, but this is his best work.
