On this episode of WWAM, I interview the Director of Latino Communications Institute at Cal State University Fullerton, and my Tia-Abuela, Dr. Inez G. Perezchica. We talk about how she came to the United States from Tijuana in her late teenage years without really knowing English, and ended up getting a Masters at Harvard University. We also talk about the power of voting and how self-advocacy is equally as important as community advocacy and how keeping balance between the two is key in this political climate. In my conversation with Tia Inez, I learned that life doesn't have to be a straight path or the path that makes the most amount of sense in order to find happiness and success. Sometimes, you just have to be open, be willing to take on challenges, and seize opportunities others create for you in order to realize you are where you want to be. *Music by Buyepongo, Agua, Buyepongo EP albumListen to the full song here:buyepongo.bandcamp.com/album/buyepongo-ep
