What's up fam? Happy? Well that's good.
0:10
Wednesday everybody. I hope you're having a
0:13
good week, but per usual it's about
0:15
to get so much better and for
0:17
real. Y'all are going to be so
0:19
excited because every time I've ever said,
0:22
who do you want to have on
0:24
the podcast? This girl gets tagged over
0:26
and over and over again and we
0:28
finally made it happen. We have the
0:31
influencer, youtuber, podcaster, mom, wifey, all the
0:33
things, Devin, quarter on the podcast and
0:35
welcome girl. Hey,
0:37
thank you so much for having me. I'm so
0:39
excited to be here. Gosh, we're so excited. I'll
0:42
just tell the people listening because they weren't in
0:44
on this previous moment, but my team was so
0:46
excited to have her on that they were like,
0:48
can we tell her hi? So
0:51
you're loved and appreciated by so many and
0:53
I'm so glad we're going to get to
0:55
have a little chat. Yes,
0:57
I am so excited. Looking forward to it.
1:00
I can already feel like the Holy Spirit
1:02
movement and how he's just going to move
1:04
in this conversation. So I'm so excited. No,
1:06
truly. That's like the best whenever I jump
1:08
on these calls and you know, it'll be
1:10
like six minutes in, we haven't even pressed
1:12
record yet and we're already having a good
1:14
conversation. I'm like, okay, this is good. This
1:17
is really good. Yes. Well, I got to ask you
1:19
the question. I ask everyone who comes on the Well,
1:21
let's go podcast to kick us off and then we'll
1:23
just have a fun conversation. But
1:26
kick us off with the best piece of
1:28
advice that you've ever been given.
1:30
No pressure. Oh
1:32
my gosh. Oh, I
1:34
should have prepared for this because I know you ask
1:36
all your guests. And
1:40
I'm having pregnancy brain. So I'm like, oh,
1:43
that's real. Yep. Oh
1:45
my gosh. You know, the funny thing is about
1:47
pregnancy brain is I think it just stays with
1:49
you and then becomes mom brain and you just
1:52
thoughts just go. Yes. Well,
1:55
if we need to circle back and you want
1:57
to say it at the end, you can. Oh,
2:00
I can just put you on this by and
2:02
the ferry. Seen that cause your mind. Or
2:04
his first thing that comes to mind. On.
2:08
The I think it's because I'm pregnant right
2:10
now so it's going straight to be in
2:12
a mom and I would just say that.
2:15
Every child's different so don't. Tell.
2:18
When other people's. Parenting.
2:21
It's good to seek wisdom in their parenting
2:23
advice. Know that, but you know your child
2:25
best, don't know everything they need me Cause
2:27
I truly believe that God gives a sad.
2:31
Just. As mother's is to the
2:33
ordered know how to for into
2:35
our child's life even though it's
2:37
so scary that just to at
2:39
trust your own instincts ness. Not.
2:42
Depend. On the world to give you all
2:44
the answers. Know how to be a that
2:46
is honestly so dead and I'm glad we
2:48
put you in the sky Macys and everything
2:50
that comes your mind because that is so
2:52
true. I think that always so my friends.
2:55
that because. I. Used to have that
2:57
like. Anxiousness. You know about
2:59
being a mom and lights making all the
3:01
right decisions. they south of what I've heard
3:03
and the methods in the this in the
3:05
that and then it's like so stressful and
3:07
you don't wanna make their own decisions are
3:09
sauce. And then I just had this revelation
3:11
at one point that's so simple but so
3:13
profound that. I am Their
3:15
mom died and made me to be
3:18
their mom. He created need to be
3:20
their moms and he's he quit needs
3:22
to be their mom. So I have
3:24
everything and me through hand that I
3:26
need to be the best mom to
3:28
them that they can have because I
3:30
have yeah mom and so it was
3:32
is just the pressure off and I
3:34
saw this on my friends I year
3:36
their mom you're the best person for
3:38
the job, He was investors and do
3:40
the job. You're fully equipped for the
3:42
job in your your kids Yes your
3:44
situation's. Didn't look different, your life starts
3:47
going to let difference, we always talk
3:49
about that, let our kids because they
3:51
say outlay. assist funny because some
3:53
be were like who i can't even imagine
3:55
you should do this or this or that
3:57
and i like the other day travel all
3:59
over world with us and it is
4:01
so nice when we have like late flights
4:03
or late nights at conferences and all this
4:06
stuff that they're able to be there and
4:08
enjoy it and you know so that works
4:10
for our lifestyle but I would never tell
4:12
somebody else hey you should keep your kid
4:14
up this late because that would be crazy
4:17
for your lifestyle so you're so right and
4:19
it's actually true too and um because you're
4:21
pregnant with your second right yes so I
4:23
have a little boy I have a little
4:25
girl Ivy she just turned
4:28
three so is it honey yeah
4:30
she'll be three in May so they're
4:32
super close they're so close yes that's
4:34
so sweet I'm so excited
4:36
I love that age gap I
4:38
was scared to do two under two and
4:41
funny story me and Hunter thought we were done
4:43
after Ivy were like no more kids one is
4:46
done but God
4:48
just works that way he said
4:50
surprise well it's cool too because
4:52
your advice is true for your
4:54
second kid like that's what really
4:56
surprised me I mean I
4:58
obviously knew they were going to be different but
5:01
just how different is really amazing you
5:03
know our whole thing here is like
5:05
live original and I think when
5:07
you have two kids you get to see
5:09
just like the beauty of originality and how
5:11
God really does knit each one in their
5:13
mother's womb to be an original you
5:17
know made in his image but in an original
5:19
person and haven is so different than honey in
5:21
every way like with the
5:23
whole sleep thing even haven just goes to
5:25
sleep on a schedule because she just does
5:27
that like we didn't and I remember the
5:29
first time like when I started putting her
5:32
down and she wouldn't cry it would be
5:34
like what like what is this you just
5:36
don't make you just go to sleep whereas honey it
5:38
would be like an hour and
5:40
a half at least of like singing reading
5:42
the book rocking doing the thing try to
5:45
put her down no try again nope like
5:47
and so it's just crazy how even every
5:49
different kid is different even your own and
5:51
so that's such a cool piece of advice
5:53
and I'm glad we started with that and
5:56
I actually I think I saw somewhere that
5:58
you said you were worried
6:00
to have any kids at all or maybe didn't
6:02
even want to have kids. So talk a little
6:04
bit about that shift in your heart from going
6:06
to not wanting to have kids to now being
6:08
pregnant with your second. Yes,
6:11
so I was, it
6:13
was in the heat of COVID
6:15
2020 and Hunter and
6:17
I had been together for a long time.
6:20
We were high school sweethearts, married right after
6:23
high school. So we wanted
6:25
time, I guess for ourselves and you think, well,
6:27
you already had time, but it's so different. Yeah.
6:30
And I think just
6:33
being in the world, seeing
6:36
everything, it was scary. I'm like,
6:38
how do you raise kids in
6:41
this world? How, and
6:44
I know now looking back, it was really
6:46
the enemy just putting that
6:48
on me. And I got
6:51
advice back then saying, you
6:53
know, if we're, if
6:56
you take the light out of the world, there's not going to be any light.
6:59
And so as a Christian,
7:01
and I had
7:03
to really pray on that because I knew
7:05
it'd be my responsibility to raise a child
7:08
in this world and how the heck do
7:10
you do that? Be a good
7:12
disciple and raise tiny disciples. And
7:15
so I just had to pray about that.
7:17
And it really, it was
7:19
God because my heart was so sure
7:21
that I didn't want kids because I
7:23
was terrified. And
7:26
so in Hunter two, we were on
7:28
the same page. And that's another cool thing about
7:30
how I feel like it just
7:32
aligned because our hearts changed at the same time.
7:34
Wow. And so
7:36
COVID happened. And so then in
7:38
the midst of chaos and
7:41
think, then you'd be like, well, no
7:43
wonder you didn't want to have kids, but we didn't
7:45
want kids before that. But then that happened. And so in
7:47
the midst of the chaos, we had such a piece about
7:50
it. And that's how I know it was from God, because
7:53
from the world, you're like, you really
7:55
shouldn't want kids now because you don't know what's going
7:58
to happen. And I don't know. just
8:00
over time, it was like this one specific month,
8:03
we were just in prayer, I was fasting about
8:05
it, and I just had this
8:07
shift, it was
8:09
just a peace. It was so unexplainable, and I'm
8:11
like, it's okay, because he,
8:13
she is gonna be his before he,
8:15
she is mine. And yes,
8:18
it's a great responsibility to raise
8:21
a tiny disciple, you could say,
8:23
but ultimately, as long as I'm
8:25
trying my best, and
8:28
praying over their life, and doing
8:30
the best I can do, God's
8:32
got them, and God's gonna take the
8:34
leap, because, and that just took pressure
8:36
off of me, and
8:39
to know that I
8:41
don't wanna take light out of the world, if I can
8:43
bring it into the world, to share more about Jesus and
8:45
all of that. And, you know, and
8:47
I'm still working through that process, me and Hunter
8:49
talk about all the time, like, okay, now every
8:51
milestone, she's two now, she's three, and
8:54
we can see she's getting older, she's getting more of
8:56
a personality, and you
8:59
think about the future, and you hope and pray
9:01
that she still loves Jesus,
9:03
and will always love Jesus. And
9:06
so those conversations are still had, like, okay, how do
9:08
we do this? How do we be
9:10
a disciple to her, and then him?
9:13
And so yeah, but ultimately, it was
9:15
just a peace we had, and we're
9:18
just trusting him to do what he wants with
9:21
their lives, and we can only pray that we're doing
9:23
the best job we can. So
9:26
good, I'm so thankful we're talking about this, because
9:29
one time in a podcast, I think I was interviewing,
9:32
or actually, maybe it was just a conversation with
9:34
my mom, I can't remember, because it was a
9:36
sisters and friends episode, and I said something along
9:38
these lines of like, you know, I
9:40
was worried to have kids, but like, your kids
9:42
will be the light of the world, and I
9:44
kinda said it similar to what you're saying, and
9:46
it's one of our most viewed reels
9:49
on Instagram from this podcast, because
9:51
so many moms struggle with this
9:53
thought of like, I'm so afraid
9:55
to raise kids in this
9:57
dark world, but as Christians, like, our
9:59
response sponsor that is this idea of like, no,
10:01
you are called to be the light of the
10:03
world. I love how you said like, I don't
10:05
want to take light out. I want to bring
10:07
light in and we need more light and more
10:10
disciples of Christ. And it's really cool because I've
10:12
been, I was reading John 17 and
10:14
I literally wish I had my Bible with me right now. Oh my
10:18
God. I literally do have a
10:20
Bible. It's amazing. Listen, I love
10:22
John. We did a, I did
10:24
a deep dive in John a
10:27
few months ago and it was so good. So good.
10:29
Oh my gosh. It's so good. If
10:32
you're listening to this podcast and you haven't read
10:34
John or haven't read it in a while, I
10:37
highly suggest going to read it again. But
10:40
John 17 is an amazing
10:42
part of scripture because it's
10:44
Jesus praying and it's Jesus praying
10:46
for himself. Jesus praying for his
10:49
disciples is extremely powerful. But
10:51
let me find exactly where I'm going because literally
10:54
I can't even believe I had
10:57
a Bible. So perfect. So
11:04
if you know me at all, if you listen to
11:06
this podcast, you know that the Bible holds such a
11:08
significant place in my life. I'm so thankful for the
11:10
scripture. I cling to it and
11:13
every season of my life. And I truly can't
11:15
imagine not having a Bible in my own language.
11:18
But my partners at crew know that that's
11:20
a reality for Christians all over the world
11:22
because they have missionaries in nearly every country
11:24
on earth and crews missionaries are seeing people
11:26
come to Jesus, but many of them and
11:28
many people are missing a vital part of
11:30
their faith. That's actually having a Bible of
11:32
their own and friends, we can actually help
11:35
with that. For only $24 a month. You
11:37
can help crew provide three people with Bibles
11:39
each and every month. And when you sign
11:41
up to provide three Bibles as a monthly
11:43
gift to $24 as a thank you crew
11:45
will provide meals to 12 hungry individuals
11:48
through their aid ministry, which is amazing. And
11:50
plus you'll also get a free copy of
11:52
Christian and I's book how to put love
11:54
first. If you haven't heard of it, it's
11:56
a 90 day challenge about putting God first
11:59
in your life. that you can do
12:01
by yourself or with your community. Lots of you
12:03
have already signed up and we just want to
12:05
say thank you so much for helping Crew out,
12:07
but they still need more prayers and more help
12:09
as they continue to bring the word of God
12:11
into the hands of so many. Simply text good

someone's life. So text good to 71326, that's good,

12:33

12:38
now I'm coming to you, he's talking to God,
12:40
and I speak these things in the world so
12:42
that they may have my joy completed in them.
12:44
I have given them your word. The world hated
12:46
them because they are not of the world just
12:48
as I am not of the world. I'm
12:51
not praying that you take them out of
12:53
the world, but that you protect them from
12:55
the evil one. They are not of the
12:57
world just as I am not of the
12:59
world. Syncify them by your truth, your word
13:01
is the truth. And I love
13:03
that so much, and I thought about that with
13:05
our kids, that Jesus is praying, and
13:07
he's saying, he's talking about the hatred in the
13:09
world, the
13:13
bad things of the world. I'm not of this
13:15
world, all these different things. And he prays that
13:17
his joy would be completed in us. He
13:19
prays that we would know the truth, but he
13:21
also says, I'm not praying that you take them
13:24
out of the world, but that you protect them
13:26
from the evil one as they're in the world.
13:28
And then he goes on and he prays for
13:30
us to know how much the father loves us.
13:33
He prays for us, he
13:35
literally says, I pray for the generations to
13:37
come, you know, who are gonna believe this
13:39
word. And it's just like so amazing because
13:41
it's a beautiful thing as a mom and
13:44
as a dad to pray these things over
13:46
your kids. You should be praying these things
13:48
over your kid. It is scary to live
13:50
in this world, but even Jesus is saying,
13:52
as a son of God who was sent
13:54
into a world that is evil, that was
13:56
gonna hate him, God as a father had
13:58
to allow his son. And to go through
14:00
that, trusting that what his son was
14:03
going to accomplish in the world as
14:05
the light of the world is actually
14:07
going to give us the path of
14:09
eternal life. And so in the same
14:11
way, we're sent in the
14:13
world to be a light of the world
14:15
and to give people the good news of
14:17
Christ in this good news that you can
14:19
have eternal life. And I just love that
14:21
Jesus has literally prayed for us, that we
14:23
would have joined the midst of the whole
14:25
thing, that we would know the truth, that
14:27
we would know the love of God and
14:30
that we would stay in it, even though
14:32
the world's not going to understand
14:34
this, even though it's going to be hard things,
14:37
but that we would stay in it so that
14:39
we would be that light. And so I just
14:41
love that we're talking about this because I'm like,
14:43
man, it's comforting. It's so comforting because it's like
14:45
this is not like a new thing that like
14:47
people are scared
14:50
as believers to be in the world.
14:52
Jesus is literally straight up saying like,
14:55
this is a dark place. Like the evil
14:57
one is here, but his response to that
14:59
was not take us. It was
15:02
God be with us. God strengthen us. God
15:04
give us joy in the midst of it.
15:06
God give us an anchor in your truth.
15:08
God give us the understanding of
15:10
your love and God keep us here, but
15:12
protect us from the evil ones. So that's
15:14
your prayer for your children, that they would
15:17
be protected from the evil one as they're
15:19
in a world that is not going to
15:21
understand the beliefs that they have. God anchor
15:23
them in the truth, give them a joy
15:25
that's complete, help them to understand what it
15:28
means to be loved by you and help
15:30
them to understand that you knew them before
15:32
the foundation of the world began, which is all
15:34
the things that Jesus was praying. So it's such
15:36
a cool thing to
15:39
discuss because it's not something that
15:41
we just have to like encourage
15:43
ourselves with by like these loose
15:45
words. Like, yeah, this is literally
15:47
in the Bible. Yeah. And
15:49
like Jesus was how you said that Jesus
15:52
was sent into the world and it already
15:54
was such a dark place even then. Yes.
15:57
And I feel like I find
15:59
myself saying. getting worse and worse. And
16:01
I feel like every generation is saying that. But
16:03
obviously having social media and all that doesn't help
16:05
because it's like blasted out there. So you're like,
16:07
whoa, it feels like a lot worse than it
16:10
used to be. But the stories in the Bible,
16:12
I mean, it's always been so
16:14
corrupt and sinful and evil. And
16:17
that's because the enemy is real.
16:21
So that's comforting too. When I think
16:23
about God said and his son,
16:26
his son was faced with
16:28
what, we're faced with today in to
16:31
some degree or the other, and that
16:34
his dad protected him through
16:37
it all and in the
16:39
world, but not of the world. And so that
16:41
is, yes, I'm so glad we're talking about that
16:43
because that brings me a comfort because it's so
16:45
easy for me to start. I'll
16:47
be good for a few days and
16:50
like, I'm just Lord protector. You can
16:52
feel joy even if things feel
16:54
like they're going wrong. Yeah. But to know
16:57
that pregnancy
17:00
brain. Best
17:04
friends on the bygads, her name is lady when she
17:07
was pregnant. And this happened to her like four times.
17:09
She'd be like, uh,
17:11
literally filming my podcast. I've
17:13
had guests come on and we have to
17:16
I've just told my producer, I'm like, I'm
17:18
so sorry. I need, we've cut that because
17:20
when I, I was the same way when
17:22
I was pregnant, it wasn't as much of
17:25
the pregnancy brain that got me on the
17:27
podcast. It was, I could not breathe because
17:29
it was mainly honey's mother and it's your
17:31
honey. Her butt was in my rib cage
17:34
and I would have to have like stretch
17:36
breaks. I'd be like, I'm so sorry, but
17:38
I can't resolve. Be like, oh, yeah. I
17:40
know. I was a little bit comfortable.
17:43
It's just so it's
17:46
pregnancy, um, hosting a podcast or being
17:48
in a body as doing pregnancy is
17:50
a very vulnerable thing. I know. I've
17:52
literally told Hunter, I'm like, just please
17:54
pray for me that I have better
17:56
brain today. Oh my God. I kind
17:58
of love it. because
18:01
it's like, that's so real. And that's what
18:03
you do with like your closest friends. You
18:05
have these like deep conversations and then like
18:07
two seconds later you're like dying laughing because
18:09
you know, you forgot everything you were just
18:11
about to say. Yeah. So
18:13
sorry. I know that was so,
18:16
it was such a deep thought too. Anyways, basically
18:18
just that Jesus has gone
18:20
before us. He has been through all these things that
18:24
I love that he can say, it's okay
18:26
up in there. Yeah. You're gonna
18:28
be good. Yeah. And I love that's like
18:30
actually like the worst thing happened and it's
18:32
still good. You know what I mean? Like
18:35
he died, like he was crucified, but then
18:37
he's like, I'll hold the power, you know,
18:39
and the keys to the grave. So he
18:42
resurrected. And so that's what he can say,
18:44
like truly, you know, you're gonna face trials
18:46
in many time, but take heart out of
18:48
overcome the world. So it's like with your
18:51
kids, you can know, Hey,
18:53
Jesus didn't say it's gonna be perfect
18:55
for them. I'm not resting in the fact
18:57
that their life is gonna be perfect because
19:00
that's a lie. Like I'm resting on the
19:02
fact that even when their life is not
19:04
perfect, that Jesus has overcome the world and
19:06
that their hope is anchored to something that
19:09
is beyond this world and into eternity and
19:11
our home and our hope is in that.
19:13
And so I think that gives you a
19:16
piece too, because I don't like, I don't
19:18
like fluff, you know? I'm like, give me
19:20
the truth. Like, don't tell me everything's gonna
19:22
be okay if it's not, tell
19:24
me that even when it's not gonna be okay,
19:26
God's gonna be with me. You know, like you
19:28
made the truth of the matter. And so, but
19:30
it's cool though, because even like how you said,
19:33
we're trying to raise a little decibels and there's
19:35
like pressure in that, but I
19:37
was reading this book, this is an
19:39
intense book, but it's really good. It's
19:41
called Tortured for Christ and it's about
19:43
this couple and they lived
19:45
in a communist country. I think they were
19:47
in Romania at the time or
19:49
maybe it was very
19:51
close to Romania. Anyways, it
19:54
was extremely bad. They
19:56
were in prison for the sake of their...
20:00
beliefs multiple times and they had a kid.
20:02
And the kid just kept seeing them go to
20:05
prison. And you would think that the kid would
20:07
maybe not, you know, want to be a believer
20:09
because they've seen their parents hurt his parents like
20:11
suffer for Christ. But
20:13
he actually was like
20:15
believed in God so much because
20:17
he saw like the extreme
20:20
conviction his parents had in their faith. And
20:22
so it was really cool because at the
20:24
end of the book, the mom was talking
20:26
about her kid. And she was talking about,
20:29
you know, even in a communist
20:31
country where he's going to school and
20:33
he's getting taught like all these things
20:35
opposite from his faith. She said, I
20:38
didn't worry about sending him to school
20:40
because I knew his greatest influence is
20:42
in our home as me and his
20:44
dad have literally given our lives for
20:46
this message of Christ. You
20:54
know, to be honest, I don't take a
20:56
ton of supplements. I just feel like sometimes
20:58
I can get complicated and so many things
21:00
on top of already having two kids and
21:03
a busy life. But for several years, I
21:05
have loved AG1 because it is so simple.
21:07
It is unlike many supplement brands because AG1
21:09
is developed in research by an in-house team
21:12
of scientists, doctors and nutritionists with decades of
21:14
experience in their fields. People ask me all
21:16
the time if AG1 really is all that
21:18
it's crazy to be and why we talk
21:21
about all the time. And I have to
21:23
say it really is. We would not
21:25
promote it. We would not drink it
21:27
if it wasn't Christian. I both love
21:29
it. Quality for AG1 isn't just a
21:32
buzzword. It's a commitment backed by expert
21:34
led scientific research, high quality ingredients, industry
21:36
leading manufacturing and thorough testing. At each
21:38
step of the process, AG1 goes above
21:40
and beyond industry standards. What's great too
21:42
is I know I can trust every
21:45
single scoop of AG1 because
21:47
the AG1 team of experts are
21:49
obsessive researching and sourcing the best
21:51
ingredients for potency and purity. Taking
21:53
care of my health shouldn't be complicated,
21:56
even though sometimes it feels that way.
21:58
And AG1 simplifies this by replacing tons
22:00
of supplements like multivitamins, digestive aids,
22:02
immune support and more and just
22:04
one simple scoop. AG1's ingredients are
22:06
heavily researched for efficacy and quality.
22:08
And I love that every scoop
22:10
also includes Rhodiola and B-Vitamin for
22:12
energy support. And you know that
22:14
I can use all the energy
22:16
I can get when I'm chasing
22:18
around Honey and Haven all the
22:21
time. And of course, filming this
22:23
awesome podcast. Y'all, we love
22:25
AG1, it's so simple. Literally, I just put
22:27
it in a cup of ice water every
22:29
day and fill the results of it really
22:31
immediately. I feel, and over
22:33
time, I've also seen just the results in
22:35
my skin, my hair, all the different things
22:38
that you know, we girls care about
22:40
too. So I've partnered with AG1 for
22:42
so long because they make such a
22:44
high quality product that we genuinely love
22:46
and look forward to each day. So
22:48
if you wanna replace your multivitamin and
22:51
more, start with AG1, just try AG1
22:53
and get a free one year supply
22:55
of Vitamin D3 plus K2 and five
22:57
free AG1 travel packs with your first
22:59
subscription at drinkag1.com slash whoa. Again,
23:01
that's drinkag1.com/whoa to check
23:03
it out today. You
23:09
know, your kids are being influenced by the
23:11
world, but the biggest influence in their life
23:13
is what's happening in their home. And
23:16
so as parents, like, stewarding that
23:18
and living out what you believe, and
23:21
that doesn't mean you're not gonna mess up and
23:23
there's no pressure in that, just being
23:25
who you are. And actually last night, Honey
23:27
was preaching to our dog. He
23:30
literally was preaching to Cabo and she, but she
23:32
didn't know what she's saying. She said, she
23:34
said, Cabo, you are beautiful.
23:37
And she said, and your God
23:39
is beautiful. And she was so
23:42
funny, I'm like, that's good. I said, that was
23:44
a good word, Honey, that's very inspiring. But I
23:46
love that y'all are praying those prayers of your
23:48
family. So take us back, because you said you
23:50
and your husband got married pretty young at a
23:52
high school. How did you and your husband meet
23:54
and how did y'all start dating? Gosh,
23:57
okay, so, end of eighth grade, my...
24:00
sister, then boyfriend, rode
24:03
dirt bikes and he rode dirt bikes with Hunter. And
24:06
so it was, we met through
24:08
them mutually and we started dating, end
24:10
of eighth grade, going into summer of high school, went
24:12
to separate high schools. So at
24:14
that age, it was just more of a cheesy
24:18
boyfriend girl kind of thing. It's not
24:20
like we were set out to be like, okay, we're going to
24:22
start dating to get married. Our minds weren't
24:24
there yet. But it, so
24:27
we started dating and quickly
24:29
things that I was going through in my life, I
24:32
could see that Hunter was
24:34
brought into my life at that
24:36
time, almost as
24:39
I say, it protected me from a lot
24:42
of other things. I could, I can see
24:44
how I could have
24:46
went down a different path than what I did
24:48
if it weren't for Hunter being placed in my
24:50
life when he was. And
24:53
there's so much, it can, there's so much,
24:55
many different stories to all that. But
24:58
so dating high school, it got really serious,
25:01
quick, more so we were just
25:03
best friends and it was
25:05
almost an escape from what I was
25:07
going through. And so we just
25:09
got to hang out a lot and all that about
25:11
junior year is when it flipped.
25:14
And we're like, okay, if we want to be married one
25:16
day, we have to change our
25:18
priorities because we were putting each other first.
25:22
And we started going to youth
25:24
group and got really involved
25:27
deep into our relationship with Jesus. Quickly
25:30
after we graduated high school, we got engaged.
25:32
Like we knew right away, I think being
25:35
together that long, we just knew and it
25:37
just was so God
25:40
ordained in that. And it's
25:42
so hard to say because we were so young. And so
25:44
even when young people asked me, I'm just like,
25:47
yes, you know, and you know, but we
25:50
also sought counsel, we sought wisdom. And it's
25:53
not like people were telling us not to do it.
25:55
I feel like a lot of the people who knew
25:57
us, they were in support of it. And so that
25:59
reassured me. like, okay, it's we're not just going
26:01
by our flesh and being like, let's get married
26:03
young. Um, so
26:05
we got married a year after high
26:08
school. And yeah,
26:11
so sweet. I heard somewhere you tell
26:13
it about y'all getting together. And I
26:16
think it's so funny. Because
26:19
tell about just like the text message you sent
26:21
because I think that is hilarious. Oh
26:24
my gosh. Yes. Um, Facebook,
26:26
I didn't have an iPhone. Like that was Facebook.
26:28
I so my sister, I said silly, I
26:34
literally asked him, I was like, I'm gonna boyfriend. I
26:36
literally remember saying that on a boyfriend. Do you
26:39
know anybody? I asked her boyfriend and he was
26:41
like, actually, I do I ride dirt bikes
26:43
with this guy. And I'm like, okay, let me go look about literally
26:46
walked into other rooms, looking on Facebook. I was
26:48
already friends with him. And I
26:51
thought it was cute. So I
26:53
unfriended him. And then
26:55
a friend. A new friend request.
26:58
And then a few days later, I
27:01
don't know what I mean, I'm glad I did
27:03
now because I mean, I married to
27:05
him. But I got his number and
27:07
I'm like, I'm not going to text him. I just want his
27:09
number in case he texts me. I'll know it's him. And because
27:12
I know that my sister's boyfriend was
27:15
like speaking into his ear about
27:17
me. So I ended up texting
27:19
him and I just said, Hey, and
27:21
then he said, Who is this? And I just didn't apply. Because
27:23
I'm like, God, we all look so desperate. I unfriend
27:26
him on Facebook and a text message.
27:29
A few days later, I replied because
27:31
he never said anything back. And I was just
27:33
like, Hey, this is Devin. Somebody
27:35
gave me this number and told me to text who is
27:37
this? started
27:41
it. And
27:43
he didn't know that story until way later
27:45
after we started it. And that is so
27:48
funny. I love it so much
27:50
because I always say this, like,
27:52
I think people put so much pressure on like,
27:54
oh, like the guy has to pursue the guy
27:56
has to pursue the guy has to pursue and
27:58
I agree like I I think
28:01
that the guy should pursue for sure.
28:03
But I think that as women, you
28:05
can give someone the confidence to pursue
28:07
you. Like, hey, I like you. And
28:10
I just love that you're like, you know, I just
28:12
wanna make sure he sees me over
28:14
here. Let me just re-send that for request. Let
28:16
me just send a little hey. I
28:19
mean, it definitely worked because he said he saw the
28:21
friend request and saw my profile picture and he thought
28:23
I was cute. But he
28:25
did say, I thought I was very friends
28:27
with her. That is so funny. Hey, all
28:29
right, not perfect. For sure. Like I
28:31
said, in your junior year, y'all had this moment
28:33
where you had to like shift your priorities because
28:36
y'all are putting each other first. You know, there's a lot
28:38
of people on this podcast who are
28:40
new to Christianity
28:43
or just the idea of like godly dating
28:45
or godly marriage and what that looks like
28:47
to put God in your marriage. I think
28:49
it's interesting because y'all are all,
28:51
I think, were believers before this, but then started
28:53
dating and had this moment where you're like, okay,
28:55
we need to shift some things. So
28:57
what does that look like? How did y'all recognize
28:59
that y'all are putting each other first and what
29:02
was the importance for y'all to make sure that
29:04
God was first in your relationship? Yeah,
29:07
so when we started dating, like
29:10
I said, it was like, I felt safe.
29:12
It was almost my safety net. I
29:14
could kind of escape reality to go
29:16
hang out with him, hang out with
29:18
his family, do whatever. And
29:21
I will say, because I grew
29:23
up Christian and he grew
29:25
up knowing God, but he wasn't raised in church
29:27
like I was. And so
29:31
at that age, easily we could
29:33
have fallen into the temptation to like romance,
29:35
you know what I
29:37
mean? And
29:40
it was more of a scary thing.
29:42
So we did save ourselves
29:45
for marriage, but it
29:47
started out of fear of just not
29:49
getting pregnant, not wanting
29:51
to do the wrong thing because
29:54
I was such a good girl. Didn't
29:57
want to disappoint my parents and all that. temptations
30:00
there. And we,
30:05
the shift, it's almost like
30:07
I felt, so the few years we dated
30:09
and God was not first, it
30:11
ended up feeling empty. It wasn't a, even
30:14
though we loved each other and loved being in
30:16
a relationship with each other, it wasn't
30:19
fulfilling us or
30:21
cut. And that's
30:23
because it can't. And so I realized
30:26
a lot of toxic
30:28
tendencies are coming into the
30:31
relationship, just jealousy,
30:34
whatever you want to call
30:36
it, because God was absent.
30:39
And so there was a
30:41
pivotal moment, it was around junior year,
30:44
when he was struggling with his own thing and I was
30:47
having my own struggles. And
30:50
so it was almost like, okay,
30:52
we're either gonna end it and break up and
30:55
just go our separate ways. Or if this
30:57
is something, if we truly feel like we
30:59
want to be together, then something's got to
31:01
change. And it
31:03
was, we wanted, we chose
31:05
each other. We were like, okay, well, we want
31:08
to be together, but what's wrong? Like what is
31:10
not aligned? And
31:13
it was Jesus. He was not first. We had made
31:16
each other our own God. So of
31:18
course we disappointed each other a lot. All those
31:21
worldly fill-ins were coming in
31:23
and we,
31:26
at that point, I also had learned
31:28
like, okay, my of
31:31
saving ourselves from marriage shifted from fear
31:33
to, no, this is because it's
31:36
a gift and it is such a beautiful
31:38
thing inside of marriage. And I wanted
31:40
that and I had that desire to keep
31:43
that. But the way we were going, I
31:45
could, we were almost
31:47
there. It's like there was a line and
31:49
we, it's like, just,
31:52
it's so clear. It was like, okay,
31:54
we choose Jesus or we don't
31:57
choose, we choose each other and it's just
31:59
gonna be a down-down. fall. And so
32:03
we chose Jesus. And so we got involved in church.
32:06
We went on like a mission trip and everything
32:08
together, but it was still so individual
32:11
because we know that our relationship
32:14
with God had to be prioritized
32:16
individually. And then that would bring
32:18
us closer. And it did. And
32:21
it was such, I'm just so thankful
32:23
that that was evident to
32:26
us at that point that we needed God
32:28
first. And doing
32:30
that before marriage really helped us
32:33
in marriage. And so that is something we always look
32:35
back on, even though we were young, we were in
32:37
high school, but it was such a big
32:40
moment in our lives of, wow, we can really
32:42
see what happens if God's not first. And
32:45
that stays true in our dating life, in our marriage,
32:48
if God's not first, we're going
32:50
to disappoint each other. We're going to be feel more separate.
32:52
We're not going to feel as intimate, close together. And so
32:55
yeah, I'm just so thankful
32:57
that that's trying to happen to kind of see both
32:59
sides of it. Depending
33:04
on which season of life you're in
33:06
sleep can get pretty hard to come
33:08
by, especially in this and we're in,
33:10
but I'm so thankful that Miracle May
33:12
gives us the best chance possible at
33:14
a solid night's rest. Your body temperature
33:16
can have one of the greatest impacts
33:18
on your sleep quality. And so Miracle
33:20
sheets are made with using silver and
33:23
fuse fabrics inspired by NASA and are
33:25
designed to keep your body at the
33:27
perfect temperature all night long. Can I
33:29
get a thank you Lord, the silver
33:31
and fuse into Miracle sheets can also
33:33
prevent up to 99.7% of bacterial growth,
33:35
which leaves them cleaner and fresher for
33:37
up to three times longer than any
33:39
other sheets, which is preventing all that
33:41

35:10
so good that's so good and it's so true
35:13
like there kind of comes
35:15
a moment where anything in everyone's life whether in
35:17
relationship or not where you realize I'm either going
35:19
to give into the flesh and live according to
35:21
my own will and probably get
35:23
to go downhill from here and when
35:27
I say downhill that doesn't mean that you
35:29
won't still you know by world standards be
35:31
successful or do your thing but yeah just
35:33
you're you might not have peace you know
35:35
you might not have a true joy you're
35:37
the cup is not gonna be full like
35:39
you said or I'm gonna choose Jesus and
35:41
no matter what life looks like I'm gonna
35:43
be sustained by grace you know through faith
35:46
and so it's like cool that y'all had
35:48
that moment together in Your lives
35:50
and so now like y'all both have that
35:52
back as like an anchor point for you
35:54
guys individually and each other which is just
35:56
really sweet and really special. And I think
35:58
it's cool just to hear. Your story
36:00
tests. For the similarities idea
36:03
of having kids where it starts at
36:05
this fear based mentality and then switches
36:07
to this like they gotta trust you
36:09
out your words yeah I trap your
36:11
plan is greater which is so cool
36:14
because when died would time to people
36:16
in the old testament and he would
36:18
call them something He would normally start
36:20
out the conversation by saying you not
36:22
be afraid and the reason I think
36:24
he always said that is because he
36:27
knows there can be afraid Cel mai
36:29
you know is that the situation where
36:31
an his theories. His in each person's
36:33
life he would say don't be afraid
36:35
he talking to people who were in
36:37
very scary scenarios but then he would
36:39
follow Art this advice do not be
36:41
afraid with a promise an anchor the
36:43
I will be whiskey and this is
36:45
what I'm gonna lead us and then
36:47
the person would be able to say
36:49
like. Okay, like I'm with you, you
36:51
know, And so it's just is it. I realize
36:54
it's almost the same thing where got cause either
36:56
something and in the midst of that. You're.
36:59
Afraid you're dealing with the sphere
37:01
of a Cia and bigger than
37:03
who you are, whatever it is
37:05
and in you had this realization
37:07
that he's calling me, he'll be
37:09
with me and this is his
37:11
plan and so that's what I
37:13
was actually more than the my
37:15
own will and so is is
37:17
really caught a Cs thread and
37:19
your story to tell me of
37:22
our whenever your went from. Ah
37:24
you know just be a married.join
37:26
Alabama Sara Yes so I mean
37:28
Married Alabama Country. Country kids you
37:30
know the suspended that has a and
37:32
having a baby all this does to
37:34
decided to share your life with the
37:36
internet harder that has a I was
37:38
the decision like and that process. Yes,
37:41
so at the same year or
37:43
so late the same time that.
37:45
God. Revealed to us like or
37:48
data Peace over a psych. It's
37:50
okay if you know this is
37:52
the time A. I
37:54
want to start trying have kids
37:56
and. That. Same. Season.
38:00
Hard. In a way. Looking.
38:02
Back because I'm like a lot of stuff
38:04
happens during that time of the peace we
38:06
felt. In an
38:08
unexplained peace we were. Broke.
38:12
We to in be Berlin
38:14
and Paycheck to Paycheck and
38:16
I ended up. Getting. Pregnant
38:18
and so I quit my job I had
38:21
in my job was. Of.
38:24
I guess you could say I was the breadwinner even
38:26
though. I wasn't making like a
38:28
ton of money, but still, I made more
38:30
than hundred and not and then So that
38:33
was addressing process as like okay, I feel
38:35
like I'm supposed to. Not. Work right
38:37
now says I'm pregnant. I couldn't were
38:39
all that gear or couldn't hardly breathe
38:41
see the by it. So hundred the
38:43
firefighter. He worked a lot of overtime
38:45
just so he could. I could
38:47
stay home and never made me feel bad
38:49
about it. He supported me, You know that?
38:52
And I had always felt. Like.
38:56
I. Remember praying. Lotta times
38:58
about my future ministry and what that
39:00
looks like in the workplace. I'm where
39:03
my going to work forever or. Foot.
39:06
Just what does it look like? I don't
39:08
feel like I'm gonna be a preacher or
39:11
anything like that. but what does my main
39:13
issues as look like in the place I'm
39:15
working? Where my them go in either me,
39:17
a stay at home mom now forever Just
39:19
all those questions. I but
39:21
I knew it would be different. I just
39:23
felt like to call ahead or life was
39:25
gonna look a lot different than. What
39:28
people would expect. Their guests
39:30
and I love. Watching.
39:32
Youtube videos back in the day and
39:35
so we were actually on our baby
39:37
moon! And. At
39:39
a sent us. Home I wasn't working.
39:42
Hhonors working but we took
39:45
off lit to that number
39:47
Tennessee and I was like.
39:50
I. think i'm some start blogging because i
39:52
had that desire i wanted snake youtube videos
39:54
more so for memory so i the could
39:56
look back and as one day i'd have
39:59
those and i I feel like that's
40:01
one of mine. I don't know
40:04
if I would say gifts, but just desires. I
40:06
just thought that was fun. Videoing, editing, I love
40:08
that kind of stuff. I love being creative. It
40:10
was like a creative outlet for me. I
40:13
didn't know what the heck to do, but I got my iPhone.
40:15
I started videoing on my iPhone, edited
40:17
on my iPhone, and I posted our first YouTube
40:19
video. And I just started
40:21
blogging a little bit here and there, documenting
40:24
my pregnancy. And it was always
40:26
something that in the back of my head,
40:28
I'm like, if this could go somewhere one
40:30
day where it would help us financially, great.
40:32
But if not, it's still fun. I
40:35
did have the hope that I was like, maybe it'll
40:37
be something, I don't know. And we got a few
40:40
subscribers, all that. And then I kind of, I had
40:42
Ivy and I just was
40:44
new mom. So I kind of like took a break from
40:47
it. And then I remember posting our birth vlog
40:49
and it got a lot of views. And I'm
40:51
like, oh, that kind of just gave me the
40:53
spark I needed to continue to do it. And
40:55
be like, okay, I do enjoy this. And
40:58
then I started that and
41:00
I ended up seeing, it
41:03
just wasn't still going anywhere. And
41:06
then I never had TikTok, but
41:08
I saw Matt and Abby,
41:10
they posted a video about how they started YouTube
41:13
and theirs didn't do good until they got TikTok and
41:15
that helped it. So I was like, well, I guess
41:17
I'll go on TikTok see what that's about. So
41:20
I, looking back at old videos, if
41:22
you scroll all the way back, it's
41:24
kind of embarrassing to see what that
41:26
made. I guess
41:28
you would say cringy mom content. I did a
41:30
lot of lip syncing videos, but it was fun
41:33
for me. Even
41:35
my mind wasn't set on blowing up
41:37
or becoming viral. It was still, it
41:39
was therapeutic for me. Cause I was
41:41
struggling with postpartum depression. Hunter was working
41:43
a lot. So he was gone a
41:45
lot as a firefighter. So for me,
41:47
it was just like filling that gap and kind
41:49
of just giving me my pink
41:52
back, I guess as people say, after you have a baby. And
41:55
so it was fun.
41:57
And then I was posting, I
41:59
did. gain like a few thousand followers
42:01
just from doing the original content. And
42:04
then Hunter would be in a little bit. He
42:07
had to like, beg him. He
42:09
was like, this is so silly.
42:12
Well, he ended up filming
42:14
a reaction of his, him
42:17
shaving off his mustache. So it was a
42:19
complete different content than what I was posting
42:21
on TikTok. And I ended
42:24
up posting it because I was like, oh,
42:26
I have to lose. Um, you know, this
42:28
is just for fun anyways, blew up. And
42:30
so literally went grew a million followers in
42:32
a month on my gosh. And
42:34
I'm like, what is this? And
42:37
little backstory, the months
42:39
that I was doing TikTok, it started off
42:41
as just therapeutic, whatever. In
42:44
this, I was in my searching, like
42:46
in a season of waiting and almost
42:49
seeking. I was in
42:51
the word I was reading, um, just books
42:53
about like the Deborah
42:56
Neuening. She's, I love her in the Bible.
42:59
And I feel like it just spoke
43:01
over my life. And it, and a
43:03
few people at the same time were just saying, you're going to be
43:05
an influence. You're going to be influenced to many. I
43:08
had no idea what that meant now. And
43:10
I just
43:13
thought it meant to people around me because that
43:15
is, we are all influencers to everybody. We're around.
43:17
And so in, before
43:20
we blew up on TikTok, I was in a
43:22
lot of prayer and seeking and like, okay, God,
43:24
what do you have for my life? What is
43:27
your plan for me? And
43:29
I felt then that it was
43:31
going to be something bigger than I would
43:34
ever imagine and something
43:36
to do with social media, I guess, not
43:38
to the extent it is, I still didn't know
43:41
what that looks like. I could just feel like
43:43
something was about to happen and that he was
43:45
just like, just trust me and surrender, just surrender
43:47
it to me. Almost like I
43:49
was taking on my own and searching
43:52
and trying to make things happen. And
43:54
he was over
43:56
and over telling me to surrender it. And
43:59
I, remember telling Hunter, like
44:01
we were really struggling at
44:04
this point financially and I was just like, it's
44:06
going to be okay. I was like, I can
44:08
feel it. Something's going to happen. Something's happening soon,
44:10
more so spiritually than financially, but
44:13
that we would be okay. And
44:15
I was like, I'm just supposed to surrender. I was
44:17
like, but I don't really know what that looks like because
44:19
I feel like I'm already, I'm doing all the things. I'm
44:21
in prayer. I'm in the Word. I'm all
44:24
of the things that you would think means
44:26
surrender. And so
44:29
the day before our video went viral, I was
44:31
at a stop sign. And at this point it
44:33
had been weeks of me just being like, God,
44:35
what do you mean? What do you mean surrender?
44:37
I feel like I'm doing it. And
44:40
I was at a stop sign and clear as day,
44:42
he was like, but have you even
44:44
asked me to bless it? And
44:46
I was like, no, I have
44:48
not. And so I feel at the same stop
44:50
sign. Nobody was behind me or anything. I was
44:53
like, okay, God, I was like, if you will just
44:55
take this platform, do whatever you want
44:57
to do with it, grow it how you want to grow.
44:59
I will give all glory to you because
45:02
I felt like that was what I was supposed to
45:04
ask him for and what he was meaning. And
45:07
then after that, it was like, I just had a piece
45:09
and all the worry about figuring out what we were going
45:11
to do next and all this was gone. And then
45:14
the next day I woke up, our video had went viral and I
45:16
was like, is that what you meant?
45:18
Because I had no idea. And
45:20
yes. And so that is
45:24
why to this day, like I give all glory
45:26
to God and just for
45:28
our platforms. And I started
45:30
off at first being
45:32
like, okay, this means I need to get on there and
45:34
preach. So I would do my devotions on there at least once
45:36
a week or whatever. And then at that
45:38
point, I feel like I was just doing it for to keep
45:41
up and like for show like showing like I'm
45:43
a Christian, you know, don't put me in another
45:45
category like this is me. And
45:48
it became almost
45:51
set up like I was, I would hurry
45:53
go through my morning devotion just so I
45:55
could share it. And
45:59
from that he was like, it's okay,
46:01
they will know you by your fruit. And
46:04
so that is why I'm not, our
46:06
content isn't me preaching. We
46:09
talk about Jesus openly like on our podcast
46:11
and YouTube and all that. And if, you
46:14
know, I feel like people
46:16
can see that something's different about us
46:18
just in the way our marriage is
46:20
and how to, a healthy, happy marriage
46:22
and all of that. But sorry,
46:25
I've said way too much. I probably like
46:27
went past the question. No, you didn't. That
46:29
was like so cool to, honestly, it was
46:31
so cool to hear all of that and
46:33
how it started. And then, y'all,
46:41
we all grew up at camp around
46:43
here. We are camp kids. We love
46:45
camp, love a good camp game, camp
46:47
song. All of it is so fun.
46:49
Summers at camp are definitely awesome. And
46:51
my kids are too young for camps.
46:53
I gotta have some other things to
46:55
entertain them. And KiwiCo is a great
46:57
way to bring camp right through your
46:59
door, some of the fun of camp
47:01
at least. KiwiCo delivers some seriously fun
47:03
learning games for kids of all ages
47:05
through hands-on projects and activities. Every month,
47:07
kids receive crates packed with projects and
47:09
items to help them explore science, technology
47:11
and art in ways that will capture their
47:13
attention no matter what their age. So I
47:15
mentioned our love for camp. My mom actually
47:17
was the craft director at camp all my
47:20
life. And so she was always doing new
47:22
crafts and teaching us crafts and led all
47:24
the kids in that. And so it really
47:26
is fun to get to do some crafts
47:28
with the kids at home, especially with KiwiCo
47:30
because they always have an educational element to
47:32
them for no matter what age
47:35
your kids are. So even honey, the little
47:37
crafts that KiwiCo has sent are great because
47:39
it's teaching her things that I might not
47:41
necessarily think to teach her at this age
47:43
but through a fun way, it helps her.
47:45
KiwiCo will help you engage your child's natural
47:48
curiosity and encourage them to be an innovator
47:50
and creative thinker. They'll learn new skills and
47:52
new connections and build the confidence that they
47:54
need to navigate through the world. We have
47:56
loved watching Honey and Haven grow and learn.
47:58
And thankfully, KiwiCo. has made it
48:01
so much fun along the journey.

48:26
Also, just like the
48:28
process is how you pray through that,
48:31
because I think it's so important that
48:33
we do have people pursuing social
48:36
media as a place of actual
48:41
influence. I actually have a sign up
48:43
here that says, be an influencer worth
48:45
following. I always talk about that. Everyone
48:48
does have influence for sure. Everyone does. Everyone
48:50
is an influencer because if you have anyone
48:52
following you and not just on social media,
48:55
you're just in life and you're influencing them.
48:57
You have to take that seriously and you
48:59
have to take responsibility in that. Also, I
49:01
think that sometimes there's this stigma against social
49:04
media or being an influencer, whatever
49:07
that is. It's like, no, we
49:09
need to be in the spaces again as
49:11
a light. That doesn't mean that it all
49:13
has to be you preaching or it doesn't
49:15
always have to be like, explicitly, opening up
49:17
the word and reading it. People will know
49:20
you by the fruit. You're
49:22
filled with the Spirit of God. It
49:24
overflows into who you are, just even
49:26
by the fruit on your life. If
49:28
you're like, what's fruit, you're sitting here
49:30
listening. The fruit of the Spirit is
49:32
love, joy, peace,
49:34
patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness,
49:36
self-control, all these things. So
49:38
you think about that. When you're
49:41
a person on
49:43
social media who's walking
49:46
in true joy, who has
49:48
peace that surpasses understanding, who
49:50
is rooted and anchored in
49:52
love and their identity as
49:55
a daughter or a son of Christ,
49:57
who has self-control in areas, who's gentle,
49:59
who's people go, what
50:02
is this? Who is this person? How do you
50:04
have, how do you have an anchor in your
50:06
identity? How do you know that you're loved? How
50:08
do you have a peace in this chaotic world?
50:11
How do you have such a true joy? Where
50:13
is, how do you have self control to resist
50:15
the temptations in your life? How are you so
50:17
gentle? How are you so kind? How are you
50:19
faithful to this God? And then you get to
50:22
say, man, it's the fruit of who God is.
50:24
This is what it's like to be in relationship
50:26
with Jesus. And that is influencing people for the
50:28
better. And so like, yes, people know you buy
50:30
that fruit. That's all over your life. People see
50:33
that. And you know, it's interesting, because even in
50:35
my life, like, since
50:37
so my, my life kind of took off
50:40
whenever I was on Dancing with the Stars,
50:42
and it's very similar, like within a month,
50:44
gained a million followers, everything was crazy. That
50:46
was 10 years ago, which is so crazy.
50:48
Wow. At the time, like
50:50
I wasn't doing any preaching or anything like that when
50:52
I was on Dancing with the Stars. So I kind
50:55
of went like with the more influencer, E-Ral,
50:57
and all this different stuff. Then,
51:00
actually super similar, it's really weird.
51:04
I kind of had this moment where God,
51:06
like I had to surrender, like same thing. And
51:09
I was really wanting God to kind
51:12
of take this like fame, I guess,
51:14
or influence in fame away, which is
51:16
interesting, because I was just so overwhelmed
51:18
by it. And I really wanted to
51:20
just do like a more normal thing.
51:23
I was like, I just kind
51:25
of like want to go to school. And I was playing
51:27
sports at the time I was in high school. So I
51:29
just wanted to be normal, you know? And
51:31
so I was like asking God to take it away. And then
51:34
I was like, okay, well, if you're not going to take
51:36
it away, like show me how to use it, you know,
51:38
like show me what to do in it. And so I
51:41
responded to this altar call. And the
51:43
Lord gave me this vision was first time I ever had
51:45
got a vision. First, the Lord
51:47
said, I'm not calling you to be famous, but I'm calling
51:49
you to be a sister and a friend of those who
51:51
don't have one. That has stuck with
51:53
me for 10 years now. And
51:55
everything I do, I always I have a sisters
51:58
and friends podcast, I love sister
52:00
conference, everything is sister and friend. And
52:02
then the second thing God showed me in
52:05
that that moment was a picture of Instagram
52:07
and the followers kept going up and
52:09
up and up and up. And I was
52:11
going, no, no, no, no, no, no, I'm
52:14
asking for that to be taken away. And
52:16
then he said, not your name, but mine.
52:19
And I like remember seeing it
52:21
visually, like, it was not
52:23
me gaining followers. It was like
52:25
my influence bringing him followers. You know
52:28
what I mean? Which is like, very
52:30
interesting. And I remember that changed everything
52:32
for me. And so I started using my
52:34
influence to be a sister and a friend
52:36
of those who don't have one. I started
52:39
preaching, I started sharing the Bible, I started
52:41
being myself, I do dance videos, I've done
52:43
it for 10 years. And you know, it's
52:45
crazy, like, nowadays, sometimes I get hate on
52:47
doing dance videos, because people are like, Oh,
52:49
you're a preacher or whatever. Then I'll have
52:51
people on the podcast who aren't necessarily like
52:54
Christian or pastors and people are like,
52:56
Oh, like, you shouldn't have that or
52:58
whatever. And I'm like, look, everything
53:00
I do is going to be if
53:04
you want to say it's a Christian thing, right? But
53:06
everything I do is to bring God glory. I'm a
53:08
follower of Christ. Like, that is who I am. That
53:10
is what I do. But I believe that God, be
53:13
like, it's not necessarily like what you're
53:15
doing, because I'm preaching or how about
53:17
it's like, it's who I am in
53:19
him. So even when I'm dancing, I'm
53:21
glorifying it, even when I'm having conversations
53:23
with people who are different than me, we're
53:25
glorifying him and bringing his name. And so
53:28
I love that you said you're kind of
53:30
fighting that like being put in a in
53:32
a category and a box, I felt the
53:34
same way. I'm like, don't put me in
53:36
that box. Yeah. Because again, like, I don't
53:38
think God puts us in that box. I
53:40
think he makes us original. And I think
53:42
through our originality, there's so much room to
53:44
grow and be all that he created you
53:46
to be. And so I don't think we
53:49
should put ourselves in this like box of
53:51
religion, you know. And
53:53
so anyways, this Is kind of like
53:55
messy conversation. But I Just I Love
53:57
hearing your story. I think it's absolutely.
54:00
The Zebra inspiring and I just think
54:02
about any bill. Listening to the Sky
54:04
Gaseous are thinking about pursuing social media
54:06
as a career or maybe there and
54:08
that stage right now has should stick
54:10
together. Tunisian there I know it's not.
54:12
I love you know like a around
54:14
high fives and my dad's agree is
54:16
it's fun for you as a guy
54:18
brings you joy and at the end
54:20
of the day you're just like it
54:22
again it's hobbies. This isn't the first
54:24
dance idiot per se I did together
54:26
was actually Simla as having Elia post
54:29
Partum anxiety. Alice struggling one day
54:31
and I just so cursor odyssey to
54:33
dance and him get together and I
54:35
can have started all these like signed
54:38
videos during coed that ended up bringing
54:40
on a joy to people. But first
54:42
it was yes for I see now
54:44
and safe as you're out there and
54:46
you're like trying to build a following
54:49
maybe just take the pressure off yourself
54:51
to build band sounds one from these
54:53
elements as unless the lord builds the
54:55
house the labor labor in vain eating
54:58
the bride of anxious to the he
55:00
gives his beloved sleep and so let
55:02
God build a house that you keep
55:04
so and are easy posted. The video
55:07
has fun with it and give it
55:09
to the lord and your story. It's
55:11
so crazy has we just met by
55:13
isolate L A to taught you forever?
55:16
I know I know so many similarities
55:18
to a crazy it's just really see
55:20
in actually L. I just had to
55:22
point out the stop sign situation real
55:24
fast. The guys I see exactly so
55:27
my best for time times and the
55:29
car and and. I love that like
55:31
you literally just had the time to
55:33
stop and pray about something and ask
55:35
who lured an adjustment period you listening
55:38
like take seek advice from her story
55:40
in every bc share a house even
55:42
modeled out pray and what it looks
55:44
at to go to guide to things
55:46
because some silly as if oppression ourselves
55:48
s. Or morning routine or might
55:50
tower. Whatever it is that like. He.
55:53
Realized guys and twenty four seven relationship
55:55
is yeah it's being at a stop
55:57
sign saying oh that as anyone asks
55:59
you to bless what I'm doing the
56:01
area as yes there is no other
56:03
highness in the stop right here and
56:05
I see that I don't I just
56:07
like you you mention the through I
56:09
realised even just the way that you
56:11
talk and what you're saying is an
56:13
inspiration and of itself a high you
56:15
live on said truly. I wish we
56:17
had a more time because I know
56:19
I have so much I want to
56:21
so Sakharov but I'd have to do
56:23
our part to of or something because
56:25
for real this is so good as
56:27
the like this is that leave him
56:29
a cliffhanger because. I know I would
56:31
weaken sounds a little sister so has to
56:33
do that. Also just this out our as
56:35

56:38

56:44
He obviously has so much to say and
56:47
