Have you ever really wondered what firefighters think when arriving on the scene to battle a house fire, or is what we see on TV shows that focus on firefighters really what it is like? My guest for this episode, Gregg Favre joins me to discuss these topics and much more including the following examples:

  • What is it like traveling so much for work?
  • Why did Gregg become a fireman?
  • How do firefighters even begin to separate what happens on the job from their personal lives?
  • What runs through his mind when he hears the alarm go off at the station?

A 16 year member of the St. Louis Fire Department, Gregg Favre is currently a Captain and Command Staff Officer with the St Louis Fire Department, works with the Joint Terrorism Task Force division of the FBI and much more.

I know it is easy for me to say that this is a fantastic episode, but I think you will get a much better appreciation for the men & women who risk their lives everyday protecting our neighborhoods after listening to Gregg Favre share his stories and experiences on this episode.

Robert Wadlow measured 8 feet 11.1 inches tall when he passed away due to an infection believed to have been caused by a poor fitting leg brace. The casket that was custom made for him was just over 10 feet long and weighed approximately 1,000 pounds. It took about 18 men to carry him to his grave in Oakwood Cemetery in Alton, Illinois.
  • The United States Army bought the property that is now known as Jefferson Barracks, in 1826. The Army paid the Village of Carondolet $5 dollars for the property that has become one of the largest national cemeteries in the country.
