Introduction begins the story.
I was born in the city of Nassau on the island of New Providence to William and Renora Duncombe. I found out that my mother and father were the first people to enter the marriage registry at St. Cecilia Parish in the Grove. I believe she was 16 years old when she got married. I think she had me by the age of 19 or 20. When you look at her in the picture we have, she was such a slim woman dressed in a white T length boat neck dress with a belt at the waist that had designs on the clear lace overlay that gave her a look of elegance. Her hair was “straightened” styled with a point in front and duck tailed at the back just down the neck. She had a smile that extended the full width of her face. She exuded someone who was happy at that time. I've seen pictures of my father around that time as well. In one, he wore brown pants and white shirt. He was a handsome man in his younger days and became more distinguished as he matured.
